Required fonts for Bridge labels?

The attached screen shot explains it all. I keep my font library pared to a minimum, and I figure there is some font Bridge uses specifically for this area.

In case anyone is interested, here's what I've discovered.
There are four font families installed with Adobe CS2 that don't remain in the Library/Application Support/Adobe/Fonts folder. They are Courier, Myriad, Symbol, and ZWAdobeF. All are PostScript (Type1) fonts—except for ZWAdobeF, which is TrueType.
     Couri
     CouriBol
     CouriBolObl
     Courier
     CouriObl
     MyriaBol
     MyriaBolta
     Myriad
     MyriaIta
     MyriaRom
     Symbo
     Symbol
     ZWAdobeF.TTF
Interestingly, these may be required fonts, but instead of remaining in the Requrd folder, they seem to be installed in the User font library. According to the Extensis publication Font Management in Mac OS X: Best Practices Guide (7th ed.), the font Myriad is required for CS2. Meanwhile, an Adobe forum posting by Dov Isaacs, an Adobe employee, indicates that ZWAdobeF is a special hack for Adobe Acrobat and serves a limited purpose but is best left untouched. The remaining fonts may or may not be crucial.
I'd lost track of the source of these fonts long ago and had no idea that they belonged to my Adobe applications. Although they'd remained in my User font library, several of them (Courier and Symbol) had recently been disabled—but not Myriad or ZWAdobeF. For the time being, I've decided to move them all back into the Requrd folder where they'll be activated for all relevant Adobe applications.

Yes, there are. There's a problem related with missing Verdana (search for layers not displaing properly). And maybe others.

  • Required Fonts for Lion

A lot of fonts are installed by Lion, for what I thank Apple but I really want to manage fonts myself and want to turn them on or off as needed (I use FontExplorer 3).
So – which fonts are required to run OS X Lion? Which fonts can be disabled? I know for instance that one of the Japanese/Chinese fonts is used to dusplay the rating stars in iTunes. Had it all setup but now a lot of fonts came installed with Lion. Can I dsiable the same ones as in Snow Leopard?

Keep an eye on this site: Font Basics. They have provided great font info before on both Leopard and Snow Leopard. I feel info on Lion should be there to before too long.
What I've done meanwhile, is disabled all fonts actived with my font manager (FontCase). Then moved all fonts from the following folders to a folder on my desktop: /library/fonts and /users/home/library/fonts.(Be sure to leave /system/library/fonts alone for now!!)
I then imported the fonts I moved to my desktop into FontCase, cleaned font caches and restarted. After restart I actved my basic sets in FontCase again, and all's been working just fine.
    Hope this helps!

  • JWS has only 1 bold font for button label

The label on a button should be Monospaced and BOLD,
but it is always the same font (Dialog?) no matter
which font I have specified. The same program shown
as an applet by the browser is correct (shows different
fonts just as I have specified).
Plain fonts are shown correctly both by JWS and the
    browser.
Monospaced-Bold is available in JWS as I can see from
    another applet of mine.

  • Required Fonts for iMovie 11?

I work in graphic design so usually only have a minimal set of fonts activated on my computer, so that I can activate what I need when working on customer jobs and then de-activate them later--keeps me from having hundreds of fonts active.
However, this means that when I use iMovie, I'm not sure but what some of the fonts used in the various themes are inactive. Was wondering if anyone knows of a list of fonts that iMovie uses?
    Thanks in advance.

Then you talk about "these 34 iMove fonts.
What I've found is that while there are 34 fonts in the application package, only 9 of them seem to be user accessible.
    I've now edited my answer.
So it appears that any fonts that iMovie uses for its default themes and trailers are within the application itself. So your practice of moving system fonts in and out shouldn't be a problem for iMovie.

  • How do I purchase Adboe fonts for distribution across a 5000+ user University. Licenses required?

My University is updating its 'Visual Identity Guidelines' and I am trying to find out the proper way to go about purchasing fonts for 'official' use and distribution to staff users across a large institution.
I see Volume Licensing for programmes but not for fonts. Can anyone advise?
    Thanks in advance

    TerriTea-
Our Volume Licening program provides for volume licensing of Font Folio 11.1 only.  You are correct that we don't license individual fonts via this program.
However, we would be happy to quote you on a customized volume license for any specific fonts you want.  Please respond to me directly below, indicating the total number of users, information about your institution, as well as the specific typefaces and weights you have interest in.  I will see that the proper sales people respond to your query.

  • Howto set default font for JLabel & JTextField in JClient?

    Hi,
    JDev 10.1.2
Can you please tell me how to set the default font for labels & textfields in JClient?
For some reason the proposed font is now "Microsoft sans serif", before it was "Tahoma".
I search the preferences all over and didn't found any clue.
I know you can change the font of the source editor.
I suppose the default font is taken from the OS environment, but where?
I intend to deploy to linux so a Microsoft font doesn't suit me.
I changed the style to bold for some labels and in this case the font parameter is part of the code.
    Any help will be appreciated.
    Frederic

    Hello
The defaults reached thru the Terminal are not storing infos about the font used as default one in a template.
I apologize but when I select all in a Numbers document and save it as a template, it doesn't match your requirements.
Each time I insert a new table it defaults to HelveticaNeue.
This is why I gave the tip which changes the font name in the Index.xml file.
    From my iDisk:
    <http://idisk.mac.com/koenigyvan-Public?view=web>
    you may download:
    :For_iWork:changeFont.zip
which gives you the ability to do the job very easily.
    you may also download
    For_iWork:removePrintRecord.zip
which removes the print Record embedded in our documents if this one is annoying.

    HI
    GOOD
    GO THROUGH THIS
A barcode solution consists of the following:
    - a barcode printer
    - a barcode reader
    - a mobile data collection application/program
A barcode label is a special symbology to represent human readable information such as a material number or batch number
    in machine readable format.
There are different symbologies for different applications and different industries. Luckily, you need not worry to much about that as the logistics supply chain has mostly standardized on 3 of 9 and 128 barcode symbologies - which all barcode readers support and which SAP support natively in it's printing protocols.
You can print barcodes from SAP by modifying an existing output form.
Behind every output form is a print program that collects all the data and then pass it to the form. The form contains the layout as well as the font, line and paragraph formats. These forms are designed using SAPScript (a very easy but frustratingly simplistic form format language) or SmartForms that is more of a graphical form design tool.
Barcodes are nothing more than a font definition and is part of the style sheet associated with a particular SAPScript form. The most important aspect is to place a parameter in the line of the form that points to the data element that you want to represent as barcode on the form, i.e. material number. Next you need to set the font for that parameter value to one of the supported barcode symbologies.
The next part of the equation can be a bit tricky as you will need to get a printer to print that barcode font. Regular laser printers does not normally print barcode fonts, only specialized industrial printers that is specifically designed to support that protocol and that uses specialized label media and heat transfer (resin) ribbon to create the sharp image required for barcodes.
Not to fear though, there are two ways to get around this:
    - You can have your IT department do some research -
most laser printers can accept a font cartridge/dimm chip (similar to computer memory), called a BarDIMM that will allow a laser printer to support the printing of barcodes.
    - Secondly, you can buy software that you can upload in your SAP print Server that will convert the barcode symbology as an image that will print on a regular laser printer. I found that this option results in less sharper barcodes. This option is really if you need to convert a large quantity of printers (>10) to support barcodes.
    - Thirdly, you can buy a third party software like Barcode.dll and install on your frontend PC connected to the laser printer.
Now you have a barcode printed - what next?
Well there are two options, depending on your business requirements:
    - You can use an existing SAP transaction on a regular workstation and get a barcode wedge reader to hook up between the keyboard and the PC. These wedge readers comes in a wand or scanner format. There are even wireless wedge scanners available that allows you to roam a few yards from the workstation to scan a label. This approach is mostly used where you want to prevent human errors in typing in long material, batch or serial numbers in receiving or issuing of material. The problem is that it's just replacing the keyboard input and you are basically locked down in one location and have to bring all the material to that location to process.
    - Another solution is to use SAPConsole transactions
or write your own ABAP Dialog programs that will fit onto a barcode enabled wireless handheld terminal and that will follow the business logic as executed on the shop floor.
These programs are highly complex exercises in industrial engineering and ergonomics because of the limited screen sizes and limited ability to accept keyboard input. The user is instructed step-by-step and only scan and push F-keys to interact with the SAP system. Scan, scan, beep, beep, enter - highly automated.

  • Embedding fonts in Bridge (Photoshop CS5)

    Hi folks!
I'm sorry for posting but I still have trouble with creating PDF via Bridge.
I have sveral PSD-Files (CS5 made) using several image- and textlayers.
Now I want to create multipage-PDF using Bridge that comes with PS CS5.
Works fine so far but Bridge does not embed those fonts used in the PSD!
Seems to me Bridge just merges all layers to one pixelbased image and saves it in PDF-format.
    But that's no good deal!
In CS2 there was a much better solution in PS2 allowing to create multipaged PDF with embedded fonts.
Is there any chance to embed fonts with Bridge?
Plz don't tell me to use Acrobat or InDesign because I'm only using PS CS5.
    Thx!

Hello I wonder if anyone knows how to find, download and install a suitable IPA (phonetics) font for the MacBook  Air? I need to be able to use a pop up window of fonts.

Unless you've done anything to change it, Google keeps every email that ever passes through their server in your All Mail folder/mailbox/label. Even if you delete stuff, they hold onto it, there. You have to go out of your way to actually delete anything permanently.
