• I wander where to set import job for transports

I wander where to set import job for transports to be imported automatically. On transport domain controller I can not manage other job than the one for the system itself.
On the system which is not transport domain controler I have only display function

are you asking for 'automatic import' in QAS/PRD ?
When you go to STMS import queue in a particular system like QAS, there you can see a button 'import all'. This will enable to you schedule automatic import periodically in intervals for eg. 15 min or whatever you want.
just click on import all and it will ask for inputs and schedule
OR, do you want to confirm for RDDIMPDP job ?
Run report RDDNEWPP to schedule RDDIMPDP
Edit: Note 11677 - Transports with event-controlled RDDIMPDP

• Objects required for transport operations

Hello,
I am preparing to upgrade and migrate databases from 10g on AIX to 12c on OEL6. I found a great doc that details the use of Transportable Tablespaces for metadata movement and RMAN for the migration of the datafiles from big endian to little endian. The doc is 371556.1. The only thing that is unclear to me in that doc is bullet 2 in the Goal section. It states:
2.- Import objects required for transport operations from the source database into the destination database.
I'm not quite sure to which objects this is referring. It sounds like there are objects that are dependencies for transport operations, but again, not sure what those objects might be or what the operations are (e.g. using exp or data pump in tablespace mode?)
Or perhaps it's referring to objects that aren't typically transportable/exported in tablespace mode, such as synonyms?
With the exception of that one bullet point, the doc makes perfect sense. If anyone has any clarification on this, it would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks!
Jon

It looks like the link in my original post isn't working. The document is on MOS and is titled "How to Migrate to different Endian Platform Using Transportable Tablespaces With RMAN (Doc ID 371556.1)"

• Back ground job for cleaning for Transport buffer

Hi Folks,
We are going to use some tool for transports from future so before that to implement that tool we need to clean the transport buffer by scheduling some background job.
Can you please let me know is there any background job as such or how i need to clean that transport buffer..
SAP version:4.6
os :unix
db:oracle
Thanks in advance for the help.
Regards,
Raj

Hi,
You can clean the transport buffer by rename the following file. Once this file is renamed, go to STMS_IMPORT Tcode and refresh the screen, you will see that all the transport list gone from there.
/usr/sap/trans/buffer/<SID of your system>
If you want your old list back, just rename this file again and refresh the above screen again.
With Regards,
Saurabh

I just noticed the exact same thing. It turns out that the httpd-ssl.conf file on my system is still the old v2.2 syntax, which means that the SSLMutex directive is still in there. This is an invalid directive after 2.2.
This is where things get interesting. At first, I simply thought I had forgotten to merge httpd-ssl.conf.pacnew after apache had been upgraded to 2.4. However, when I check my pacman.log, it appears that httpd-ssl.conf was never upgraded when apache went to 2.4 - (2.2.26-1 -> 2.4.7-1). There was never a pacnew file generated to be merged.
I took a look at the apache package via the abs and the "proper" httpd-ssl.conf is certainly in there, so why pacman never created a pacnew file is a mystery.
Anyway, to fix this: pull the httpd-ssl.conf from the apache package, either from your cache, using the abs and building it, or (I think) pacman may re-install it if you move the file to a backup location (not sure about this). Then merge your original httpd-ssl-conf with the new one.

• Program works but background job for that program fails....

I have a requirement where I have to collect the details of the purchase order and put the details in XML file format and FTP the XML file to an external third party FTP Server.
To realize this I developed a report program which follows following logic.
1) First I collected the PO details by calling the BAPI BAPI_PO_GETDETAIL1.
2) Then using the following link "/people/r.eijpe/blog/2005/11/10/xml-dom-processing-in-abap-part-i--convert-an-abap-table-into-xml-file-using-sap-dom-approach
I converted these PO details to the XML file format that the third party people accept.
In the code I used u201CCALL METHOD cl_gui_frontend_services=>gui_downloadu201D and in this process first the XML file is generated and is getting stored on my deskytop.
3)     Then I called HTTP_SCRAMBLE, FTP_CONNECT, FTP_COMMAND , FTP_DISCONNECT and RFC_CONNECTION_CLOSE.
This works perfectly well and each time I execute the report the file is getting FTPu2019ed to the third party FTP server.
Now I tried to schedule a batch job for this and the batch job fails with follwing errors
02/25/2009 15:08:47 Error in Control Framework
Message Class  = FES
Message Number = 022
Message Type   = E
02/25/2009 15:08:47 Job cancelled after system exception ERROR_MESSAGE
Message Class  = 00
Message Number = 564
Message Type   = A
Can some one tell me what is going wrong. My report works perfect in front end but fails if I try to schedule a background job for it in SM36.
Can you please tell me whatz going wrong with batch job? Any Help is highly appreciated.
Regards,
JEssica SAm

Robert...Thanks for the reply...
I am using follwing code
l_xml_size = l_ostream->get_num_written_raw( ).
CALL METHOD cl_gui_frontend_services=>gui_download
EXPORTING
bin_filesize = l_xml_size
filename     = FILEPATH
filetype     = 'BIN'
CHANGING
data_tab     = l_xml_table
EXCEPTIONS
OTHERS       = 24.
IF sy-subrc <> 0.
MESSAGE ID sy-msgid TYPE sy-msgty NUMBER sy-msgno
WITH sy-msgv1 sy-msgv2 sy-msgv3 sy-msgv4.
Now what changes should i make..where should i store my XML file then instead of my desktop?
and whih Function Module should i Use..

• Can ABAP proxy to consume WSDL file be run as background job for every10min

Hi all,
I have a requirement where I need to build an interface which gatheru2019s the purchase order details and send to external third party software in their required format (as an XML file).
So I should be the first point of contact and should trigger the interface each time a purchase order is generated.
So I am thinking that I should develop a background job for every 10 minutes which will look for new purchase orders and gathers the information of the purchase orders and send them to external third party software in their required format.
I have gone through all the SAP forums and e-Learning but still I have confusion in regards to how is it possible technically? Can some one guide me with some information on the same.
I have a little bit of confusion and want to know few things.
1) Should I create a web service or should I consume a web service?
2) If I need to consume a web service, then can I write an ABAP proxy to be run in background fro evry 10 minutes? I mean can we run ABAP proxy as a batch job in the background?
3) Is there a difference between consuming an XML file and WSDL File?
Any Help will be highly appreciated.
Regards,
Jessica.

There are two options (as I know) to generate XML file.
1. Use XML TRANSFORMATION to get the XML string based your TRANSFORMATION. You can input your data and get back the XML string. Download this string to a file
Test XML generation program is:
types: begin of ty_data,
num   type i,
end   of ty_data.
DATA: itab TYPE standard table of ty_Data,
la_data like line of itab,
xmlstr TYPE string.
DO 3 TIMES.
la_data-num = sy-index.
APPEND la_data TO itab.
ENDDO.
CALL TRANSFORMATION ztest_np1
SOURCE table = itab
RESULT XML xmlstr.
CALL FUNCTION 'DISPLAY_XML_STRING'
EXPORTING xml_string = xmlstr.
My ZTEST_NP1 transformation. To create a transformation, click on the transformation in the "CALL TRANSFORMATION ztest_np1" statement. Select Simple transformation type.
<?sap.transform simple?>
<tt:transform xmlns:tt="http://www.sap.com/transformation-templates">
<tt:root name="table"/>
<tt:template>

<tt:loop ref=".table">

<tt:value ref="NUM"/>

</tt:loop>

</tt:template>
</tt:transform>
XML string is like:

1

2

3

To use this option, you have to create a transformation and than use it to generate the XML string.
Check this SAP Help
http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw04s/helpdata/en/e3/7d4719ca581441b6841f1054ff1326/frameset.htm
2. You can concatenate and create an XML string and download that string into a file.

While Auto Customization swu3 i am getting error message 'Output device "" not known' in 'Schedule Background Job for Deadline Monitoring'
Please advice what could be cause of it

the earlier problem of background job was solved by changing the output device assigned to user wf-batch .

• Problem in creating Batch job for programs in different servers.

Hi All,
I have a requirement like i have 2 different programs ( PRG1,PRG2 ) running in 3 different SAP servers (SER1,SER2,SER3).
I want to create a batch job for the programs.
Here When I run the PRG1 in Server SER1,it will create a file1 in SER1 as well as the other 2 servers (SER2 and SER3).
It just create a file and there is no content in the file.Once i start writing records to file1in SER1,the same record will be started writing in SER2 and SER3.This is using PRG1.
Once PRG1 will complete writing records in file,Next PRG2 will run in SER2 using file created by PRG1.
I want to create a batch job for PRG1.
How to trigger the PRG2 after completing job1 for PRG1 without any manual interaction.
Please help me for this.

Hi Ambili
You can set steps in these jobs in transaction SM36.
You can define that Job 2 starts after Job1 complete sucessfully and same game for other jobs.
Please, check attachment for detailed information about that
Kind regards

• Background Processing? how schedule job for "System Error" Message .

Hello everyone,
in sap help i have read.
http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw04/helpdata/en/5a/f72040599a8f5ce10000000a155106/frameset.htm
PCK> Monitoring>Message Monitoring-->Background Processing
you can schedule jobs for various background processing:
● Archiving of messages processed successfully
● Deletion of messages that are not to be archived
● Restarting of messages with errors
●     Rescheduling of lost messages
can anyone understand this docu?
give me some introduction, how can i define and schedule these jobs ?
thx in advance!!
best regards
Yaning

Background Processing
Prerequisites
You have started the message monitor on the initial screen of the PCK and are in Background Processing.
Features
Archiving
You require two archiving sessions to archive messages:
● One session to write the messages to the archive
● One session to delete the persisted messages that have been archived
To do this, you schedule an archiving job, which implicitly schedules the sessions to write to the archive and delete the archived messages.
You can define one or more rules for each archiving job; these rules contain conditions that a message must meet in order to be archived by the job. At least one of the defined rules must be met for archiving to take place.
All information that is displayed for a message in message monitoring is archived, in addition to the audit log for each message.
Deleting
A standard delete job is created automatically. It runs once a day. You can schedule additional delete jobs; however, you cannot define rules for them.
Restarting
Instead of restarting messages with errors manually with message monitoring, you can schedule a job to automatically restart these messages. This is possible for all messages for which the number of defined restart attempts has been exceeded (messages with the system error status).
You can define one or more rules for each job to restart messages; these rules contain conditions that a message must meet in order to be restarted by the job. At least one of the defined rules must be met for archiving to take place.
Rescheduling
A standard job to reschedule messages is created automatically. The job runs once a day and ensures that messages lost as a result of database failure, for example, are rescheduled. You can schedule additional rescheduling jobs; however, you cannot define rules for them.
Thx Aamir.
But I mean the messages with errors in Adapter Engine , not in Intergrations Engine.
the situation is like Naveen Pandrangi's WebLog
II. Errors in Adapter Engine [XI : How to Re-Process failed XI Messages Automatically|XI : How to Re-Process failed XI Messages Automatically]
I
Till now we have seen how to resubmit/restart message that failed in Integration Engine. One a message makes it from Integration Engine to Adapter Engine, the message is flagged as checked in Integration Engine. The status of the message in Adapter engine does not effect the processed state in Integration Engine. Now if this message was asynchronous, XI will by default try to restart the message 3 times at intervals of 5 minutes before the status of the message is changed from Waiting to System Error .
*how can i schedule a job to automatically restart these messages with errors?
best regards

• Invoice List Job for F2 Only. Exclude other Billing types, e.g. L2,

Hi: We have just set up a job for invoice list. Everything seems to ran alright until customer service created a debit memo (L2) for that customer and the debit memo got consolidated with the rest of the F2. I understand that L2 will be consolidated because the invoice list type set in the billing document setting is LR.
I later found that we do have a long list of billing docs that is set to LR as the invoice list type. (Please see below)
The requirement that I've got from the user is that they only want F2 invoice consolidated in the invoice list. What would be the best advise to do this?
Can anyone please advise?
Thanks!
F1     Invoice
F2     Invoice
FAS     Canc.down pymnt req.
FAZ     Down payment request
L2     Debit Memo
FP     Billing POS-Interfce
FR     Invoice Repair
FV     Invoice Contract
FX     Billing Ext Transact
G2S     Cred. memo 3rd party
HR     Billing Training Adm
IGS     Cancel ICM
IV     Intercompany Billing
IVA     IB order-related
S1     Cancellation of Inv
S3     Cancellation of Inv
SHR     Cancel Training Adm
WIA     Plants Abroad
ZF2     Drop Ship US Cust
ZIV     Interco. Invoice
ZL2     I/C Debit Memo
ZML2     Misc Debit Memo
ZSF2     Samples Invoice

We need to know what this "Job" is using for the invoice list. Is it T-Code VF05, VF04, etc?
Either of these you could create a variant for the job to only include specific Document Type(s) ala F2
