  • Failed install of PSE 10 - Shared Technologies failed to install

I have a legal copy of PSE 10 that I am trying to re-install on Win7. It fails and rolls back with the error that "Shared Technologies" failed to install.
I have tried several of the options in these forums. I need a solution please.

When I first tried to install, I was using my disks. I have since downloaded the software from Adobe (in case it was different) and that is what I have been using since I first posed my question.
By "clean slate", I mean, can you tell me how to clean up whatever temporary files/registry/other entries that are causing the install to fail?
I just tried downloading and running the AdobeCreativeCloudCleanerTool, and just tried the installer again with the same "fail/rollback" problem.

  • Elements 10 won't finish installing. it says installing required shared technologies and wont go any

I tried installing elements 10 last night and part way through it just kept saying installing required shared technologies and stayed on that and won't go any farther. I've tried uninstalling it and starting over but it won't let me do that either. It says I need to finish installing what was already started. I'm very frustrated. I'm a photographer and I need to get this problem fixed so I can finish my work. Can you advise me to do anything to fix this?

  • PSE10 Shared Technologies Failed To Install

I recently purchased a combination Photoshop Elements 10 / Photoshop Premiere 10.  I installed Premiere just fine, but I cannot install Elements.  Everytime I attempt an installation it will eventually "roll back" the installation because it says the "Shared Technologies" failed to install.  I have tried every solution I could find in the forums and online.  Nothing is working.  Do I need to return this and get my money back?  Or is there a solution.
    Thanks,
    Blair

    Hello Blair,
A rollback is a generic failure of the installation to complete, the program is uninstalled to protect the ingerity of the system. There are a number of possible causes for a rollback. Check out this document for steps to follow: http://kb2.adobe.com/cps/894/cpsid_89403.html
This document doesn't cover all of the steps for fixing rollbacks, just the most common. If you don't get this resolved with the documented steps, we can get into the more complex steps next.

  • Problem installing Adobe Photoshop Elements10--"Shared Technologies" fails to install.

I have had a problem trying to install a purchased disc set of Adobe Photoshop Elements 10.  The "Shared Technologies" has failed to install so the installation is incomplete. Tried online chat, which was helpful, but failed to solve the problem before we were cutoff.  Need help.  Thanks.

    Sorry for the trouble, 907Faribanks.
There was an issue with some of the Shared Technologies, so you'll need to update the installer. The instructions for doing so are here: http://adobe.ly/KB92579

  • Shared Technologies failed to install

I'm installing PSE 10 and it seems to be hanging after installing the Organizer. The status says "rolling back the installation of Adobe Photoshop Elements 10".  The buttons are grayed out. This is my 2nd time attempting to install. The first time I happened to double click on the status window and then a message came up about failing to install shared technologies.
Well... it just stopped and now I have a message that says the following:
    InstallShield Wizard Completed
The wizard was interrupted before Adobe Photoshop Elements
    10 could be completely installed.
Below mentioned application has failed to install:
    Shared Technologies
Before opening my Mozzila Firefox to write this, all other apps were closed.
    Thanks.

    See if anything here helps:

  • Unable to install Elements 10. The Wizard failed to install Shared Technologies. Please help.

After PC repair I am unable to re-install Photoshop Elements 10 from a bundled disc as the Wizard was interupted. The Shared Technologies failed to install.
I am using Windows XP Pro. I have been struggling with this problem for 6 weeks now and would very much appreciare some help.

    Hallo Vibrant
Thank you for your concern and interest.
I am trying to reload Photoshop Elements 10 and Premier Elements 10 from a bundled disc, after a PC repair. These programs worked perfectly before the problems with my PC.
I do not get a specific error.
The program runs through the process including loading the serial number until, just when I think that the programs are fully loaded I get the following message.
    Installation Wizard Completed
The Wizard was interrupted before Adobe Photoshop Elements 10 could be completely installed.
The below mentioned application failed to install.
    Shared Technologies.
I am signed on as the Administrator whilst trying to install the software.
I don't know if the folder/files are locked.
I have run the Microsoft Fix It program and that reports that there are no problems.
I will try the link that you were kind enough to supply tomorrow. Thank you.
    Best Regards

  • Install of PSE9 starts rolling back at shared technologies, and doesn't install at all

I am trying to install PSE9 on a small laptop which doesn't have a CD/DVD ROM Reader/Writer.  So I copied the program to a pendrive and it appears to have the whole program on it.  It goes through the first part of the install just fine and the icon appears on the desktop.  It gets to "installing required shared technologies" and the next action shows "rolling back the installation of PSE9".        At this time the PSE9 icon on the desktop, disappears, and the next heading says "rolling back the installation of PSE9 Organizer"  Then the window comes up which says install shield wizard completed and, "the wizard was interrupted before PSE9 could be completely installed...below mentioned application has failed to install: SHARED TECHNOLOGIES.  then I click on finish and there's nothing left of the install anywhere in the computer.  This is frustrating and I'm sure that somethinbg gets left out when I download the program to the pendrive but I don't have any other way to do it unless it could be installed directly from Adobe.  Can I do that?

first, make sure you have a complete installer:
if you follow all 7 steps, you can download the pse trial:  http://prodesigntools.com/photoshop-elements-9-premiere-elements-9-direct-download-links.h tml
    use your serial to activate.
if you have dl problem, you didn't follow all 7 steps.

  • Photoshop Elements 10 installation - Shared Technologies

I purchased ADOBE PHOTOSHOP ELEMENTS 10 from Amazon. I uninstalled a very old version of Photoshop 6 and then installed Photoshop Elements.  It runs the installation through to the end and then rolls it back stating ‘Shared Technologies’ as the reason the installation failed. In order to test the installation disk was not faulty I ran the install on my sisters laptop (Vista and Windows 7 and it worked).  I have done a system restore to just before the installation and the same thing happens.  I downloaded the Adobe Support Adviser which gives you the solution to solve the installation issue.  It states ‘a restart is pending’ and says the solution is to remove a registry key  ‘InProgress key’ is not there.  I am on Windows 7 Home Premium Service Pack 1, 64 bit  Acer Z5771 all in one. Thanks for any help.

I would suggest trying to contact support via chat (availability only Monday to Friday) to see if they can resolve the issue as there can be many reasons why shared technologies fail. They may tell you that support is only available for PSE11 but don’t be fobbed off. If you purchased the product recently, your statutory rights cannot be overridden, certainly within the EU. Ultimately you can request Amazon to make a refund or to replace the product with PSE11.

  • When attempting to install trial elements 11get amessage error installing shared technologies

when attempting to install trial elements 11get amessage error installing shared technologies

    Hi hutchie4,
The error indicates that one or more of the following Shared Technologies failed to install:
    Adobe Player for Embedding
    Adobe Help
    Camera Raw plug-in
    Camera Raw profiles
    Adobe ExtendScript Toolkit
    Adobe XMP Panels
    Microsoft Visual Studio runtimes
To resolve these issues, use the Adobe Support Advisor (ASA) to analyze the installation log file. For instructions, see Analyze install logs with Adobe Support Advisor (ASA).
Note: If you are using a downloaded installer, or running the installation from the hard drive, the Shared Technologies can fail because of the installation path. Copy the installation files to a folder to the root of the drive, such as C:\PSE<versionnumber>Installer\, and rerun the installation.
This Adobe document lists installation troubleshooting steps, including the "Shared Technologies" error
