Required values should be displayed in forst search screen for Variable

HI Gurus
I have a Variable CUSTOMER which has 20000 values. In the first search screen we are getting 1 to 1000 values by default ( I have selected 1000 in properties). But I want the Values between 6000 to 7000. Is it possible?

The quality system displayes values when query result is filtered for a hierarchy infoobject but the production system does not display any values and sometimes throws an error 'The operation failed because of a server error. See system logs.' There is no changes done for hierarchies in both the systems.
Please let me know if anyone has had similar problems.

The bar code value should be displayed in the popup window again

I am using function module 'POPUP_GET_VALUES' inorder to enter a barcode value in MIRO transaction.
When I stimulate(Stimulate button ) the MIRO , a popup comes and I enter the bar code and click enter, the popup disappears. Then when I click the Stimulate button once again ,the popup comes and NOW THE ENTERED BARCODE(entered barcode previously) SHOULD BE DISPLAYED.
how can this be done?????????????

In the table parameter you can pass the value for the table FIELDS.
Tabname
Field
Value --> initialise your previous value in the particular field.
It would display the same when the message pops up.

What value should be passed to the ColumnSize parameter for SQLBindParameter() for a nvarchar(n) column?

I have a table with a field "f1" which type is nvarchar(1000). Now I want to update a record through binding variable method. Before I bind the parameter, I call SQLDescribeCol to get the length of f1 - 1000.
The data for updating f1 is prepared and is coverted to UTF16, so the buffer length is 2*(character length). When I call SQLBindParameter() to bind the variable for f1, what length value should be passed to ColumnSize parameter? Some said the Columnsize
should be in byte. In MSDN, I can't find any posts or examples for my cases. MSDN also mentioned that the limit for this argument is 4000.
I try 1000 and 2000, both works. Which one is the exactly correct one? I use SQL Server 2008 and native client 10.0.

Error Message is not displayed on the pop screen for chain end chain

Hi,
I have called a screen in one of the standard program using enhancmenets,
and i had put validations using chain and end chain, but the error message is not displayed immediately on the screen
but it is displaying as log , i want the error should come on the same screen and it should not allow till the correct values are entered , how to handle it

have you tried option "LIKE" with instruction MESSAGE.
Example:MESSAGE ID '38' TYPE 'S' NUMBER 000 DISPLAY LIKE 'E' WITH 'My Message'.
And instead of using a MESSAGE instruction, why to not use a popup ?
Like using one of these function modules (for instance):
TMS_BCU_POPUP_TO_CONFIRM
POPUP_TO_CONFIRM_STEP
POPUP_TO_DECIDE
FC_POPUP_ERR_WARN_MESSAGE
etc...
If that does not work, perhaps it's your ehancement which is not the good one or perhaps you have use a second one.

Modifying the Standard search process for variables in BI reports

Hi Gurus,
I am encountering the following issue while executing a report.This is related to the text of a characteristic value of an InfoObject.
In the variables screen, the F4 search help for a variable is currently case-sensitive. To be more specific, when the user gives the description "East Wind" , the F4 search help returns a value. But when the search is performed using "EAST WIND" or "east wind" or " east* ", no results are returned.
I observed a How To Document for resolving this issue in BW 3.X version. It calls for the insertion of a form routine in Function Module RSD_CHA_BUILD_QUERY. But this function Module is replaced in BI 7.0 version.

It is not possible in Dialog Programming too. But there is an alternative. You can make the material number field as drop down. Assign a function code to that. Now in PAI you can code accordingly to display the description.
In TOP.
TABLES: mara, makt.
DATA gv_maktx TYPE makt-maktx.
In PAI.
CASE sy-ucomm.
WHEN 'F_MATNO'        "function code assigned to the material number drop down field
     SELECT SINGLE maktx
      FROM makt
      INTO gv_maktx
      WHERE matnr = mara-matnr. " mara-matnr is the dictionary reference to the material number drop down field in the screen.
      makt-maktx = gv_maktx.    " makt-maktx is the dictionary reference to the material description field in the screen.

In SLIS_T_FIELDCAT_ALV you specify the field as edit = X.
Give it as mentioned, where you assign fieldname and positions etc.

Filter values are not displayed in the Popup Screen

Hi Gurus,
I have executed the query from the Query Designer using Execute to the browser and tried to filter the values for 0plant
Then i am getting the values as question mark '?????' for Key as well as Text.
Note: I am not getting the key values for any of the characteristics.... in any report...
Is there any setting need to done in BI or Portal side...
Please help me if any one got a similar issue....

The values in the BW are ok & i have activated the master data too..
I am getting all the filter values for the query in RSRT, but when i execute the same query to the browser i am getting the values as '????' in the filter...
Eg.
Plant Key Plant medium Text.....
but when i select a particular row and add the values i can see the data as below.
1901 Bhubaneswar Depot
Please let me know if any more information is needed.

Use external display to present iphone screen for training

I have to teach newbies in my company how to use both the iPhone 4 and the iPad.
I was hoping, that there was a way to display the iPhone screen (exactly like we all see in the keynotes) so I can navigate around and they can see what's happening on an external display - instead of gathering over my shoulder.
There just has to be something - I see all the iphone costumes people use and I can't imagine there isn't a way for me to utilize it for training...

The only way I could think to do that would be to take screenshots of the iPhone showing the things you want to teach them, and then you could buy the iPad VGA Adapter, which works with photo slideshows and movies. You might be better off taking screenshots on the iPhone and iPad and putting together a Powerpoint to demonstrate.
I guess in the Keynotes, Apple has their own custom setup that allows them to show a live feed of the iPhone screen. I hope this is helpful, sorry if it's not exactly what you were looking for.

How can I use my MBP's(late 2008) display as a secondary screen for MCP retina display?

I've got my new MBP retina dispaly and I would like to use my old MBP as a secondary display.
Is there any way to do this without installing different types of software like ScreenRecycler?
I tried to connect the only cable I have which is an HDMI to Thunderbolt cable but nothing really happened!

Formatted Search Query for Variable field

Hi Experts,
I have a client who wants a UDF on the Delivery Document to auto populate wiht a Variable field in the Administration module. This variable field was added by a Add-on.
The system information is:
Form: ShipOpt
Item: Boxes
Pane: 1
Column: Box Name
Row: 0
Variable: 3
How do you specify a Variable field in the Query?
Any help would be appreciated.

Hi Marli,
You may only use Current form variable for FMS query. I believe you need UDF on the Delivery. SO the other form will not be available to your query.

ITunes displays Russian-language welcome screen for newly-purchased iPhone (in U.S.)

I bought a 16 GB iPhone 4 at the AT&T store late this afternoon, and this evening I hooked it to iTunes on my MacBook Pro. At the registration screen I clicked the "Register later" button. The next screen is entirely in Russian. Nothing on my system -- not the laptop's OS, not the iPhone's OS -- is set to Russian; both are definitely English.
AppleCare's call center is closed for the night. Ideas?

I haven't solved why it happened, but I got past the problem. Immediately after posting my question above, I remembered the Translation widget. Since iTunes allowed me to select and copy the Russian text, I was able to paste it into the widget.
Apparently iTunes was describing services for locating and/or wiping the device in case of loss or theft, and asking whether to set it up now or wait. I chose to wait, and the next screen was in English.
