Requirement about transport tracking

Hi,
I have this small requirement about transport tracking.
A transport might have lot of tables referenced. I need to find out, what is the difference, between the tables in one system, and the tables in another system, say between development system, and production system. Any leads on this would be helpful. Thanks for the help in advance.
Regards,
Vijay

  • Question about transport layer

    Hi folks,
I would to know if anyone has some information about transport layer between two tenants, eg: Test Tenant and Productive Tenant.
I suspect that deployment on Productive Tenant requires manual deploy with HANA Studio (or eclipse + hana cloud platform plugin).
    Thanks in advance!
    Kind regards

No, there is no such transport system in HCP. Actually, you've probably noticed that we don't bind you to a particular DI (development infrastructure) - e.g. it's up to you to choose what version control system suits you best - be it Git, CVS, SVN, Perforce...
For Java apps - hope I already answered your question above.
For XS apps - AFAIK, you have to import your sources into a HANA repository package and activate them.

  • Objects required for transport operations

    Hello,
I am preparing to upgrade and migrate databases from 10g on AIX to 12c on OEL6. I found a great doc that details the use of Transportable Tablespaces for metadata movement and RMAN for the migration of the datafiles from big endian to little endian.  The doc is 371556.1. The only thing that is unclear to me in that doc is bullet 2 in the Goal section.  It states:
2.- Import objects required for transport operations from the source database into the destination database.
I'm not quite sure to which objects this is referring.  It sounds like there are objects that are dependencies for transport operations, but again, not sure what those objects might be or what the operations are (e.g. using exp or data pump in tablespace mode?)
Or perhaps it's referring to objects that aren't typically transportable/exported in tablespace mode, such as synonyms?
With the exception of that one bullet point, the doc makes perfect sense.  If anyone has any clarification on this, it would be greatly appreciated.
    Thanks!
    Jon

It looks like the link in my original post isn't working.  The document is on MOS and is titled "How to Migrate to different Endian Platform Using Transportable Tablespaces With RMAN (Doc ID 371556.1)"

    2. how they are created

    4. I did some corrections in a Z.. program (se38), now i want to send this to customer, how can i do this
    thanks

i tried to search SAP help , but it is giving me some TIS help.

    Hi Surjit,
Check this link for documentation -
    http://help.sap.com//saphelp_470/helpdata/EN/57/38e14e4eb711d182bf0000e829fbfe/frameset.htm
Transports are a means of recording whatever change you do to a development or customizing object and move this to your TEST & production server.
( Objects assigned to a transportable development class will always prompt for a request when you create or change these objects . Object in dev class $TMP dont require a transport. So to transport objects out of your system you should assign them to a valid development class ).
You can also use transports to send development objects to customer. You have to create a transport with a transportable target . Then release it. This will create Data & Co files at Operating Syatem level. Pick up these files and give it to customer to upload it in their system. The upload can be done using STMS and "tp" command at O/s level. The data & co files should be present in the o/s of the application server in which you are trying to upload. These activities are mostly handled by BASIS folks.
    Cheers.

I am using my old iPhone for playlist for my Dad's funeral as that meets the crematorium requirements. Some tracks - uploaded from personal CDs to MacBook Pro and successfully transferred to new iPhone (with small doc) won't transfer on syncing.  Most do, but why won't some, of my own music sync when others off the same album and in the same playlist do? I have now checked the storage, freed up 766MB, how can i not sync (and get everything i've just deleted back) but upload the required tunes? All help appreciated, many thanks x x x

  • About transport system of XI

    Dear experts,
We have two clients configured for XI separately for DEV and PRD.We have no QAS in picture.
Now i get a requirement to change a mapping.I changed the mapping and activated the mapping.
Now time is to transport it to PRD.
How can i ensure that someone had not made a change to that particular mapping before in Development.
How can i ensure that before i started Development on this mapping we had identical versions in DEV and PRD.
I am worried to move this mappping further and this is my prime concern.
    Regards,
    Aditya Sharma

    Hi Aditya,
How can i ensure that before i started Development on this mapping we had identical versions in DEV and PRD
The good practice is to add description in the object which you change. You can maintain saying : "changes made as a part of bug fixing_transportID"
By following this practice it will be easier to identify the versions in PROD and in DEV.Comparing the History in Dev and PROD will help but if you follow a practice to transport completSWCV and CS then it will be easier to track.
How can i ensure that someone had not made a change to that particular mapping before in Development
check the history and see the user ID who last worked on that.Check all trasports doen for that particular objects in CTS+ tool if you have used the same.Match the version in PROD and DEV as mentioned earlier.
I am worried to move this mappping further and this is my prime concern.
Before you move please test the functionality in DEV properly, check the current version in PROD and test the same version in DEV to see if it gives same issues. Then move the correction version to Prod.

    Srinivas

  • Anyone know about secret tracking data stored by OS4?

I just saw a news report that iPhone and iPad 3G are secretly storing location and time data.  This data can be extracted to track the users past movements.  Does anyone know anything about this? It sounds fishy to me.  Seems like the kind of underhanded thing Google has gotten in trouble for.

It's not secret, it's in the Apple's privacy policy.

  • Need info about transportation

    Hi frnds,
Need information how we can transport the DW object to production.
Development & testing is fine with designed flow.
now we need to build production . is there any method to build Production from development.
    Thanks
    Ravi

    hi,
There are two ways. One transport all the developed objects from dev system to production. This is the generally the practice followed to get the objects in production.Just for some additional info the respective Transports should have the following objects:
    1. Base Objects -
    a. Info Area
    b. Info Objects
    c.Info object catalogue
    2. Info Providers u2013
    a. Info Cubes
    b. Multi Providers
    c. Info Sets
    d. Data Store Objects
    e. Info Cube Aggregates
    3. Transfer Rules u2013
    a. Application Components
    b. Communication Structure
    c. Data Source replica
    d. Info Packages
    e. Transfer Rules
    f. Info Source Transaction data
    g. Transfer Structure
    h. Data sources (Active version)
    i. Routines & BW Formulas used in the Transfer routines
    j. Extract Structures
    k. (Note) If the transfer structures and related objects are being transferred without preceding Base Objects transport (e.g. while fixing an error) it is safer to transport the related Info Objects as well.
    4. Update Rules u2013
    a. Update rules
    b. Routines and formulas used in Update rules
    5. Process Chains u2013
    a. Process Chains
    b. Process Chain Starter
    c. Process Variants
    d. Event u2013 Administration Chains
    6. Report Objects u2013
    a. Reports
    b. Report Objects
    c. Web Templates
The second way is to build a copy of the dev system and treat it as production. In this method you will not be required to send transports.
    Hope this helps.
    thanks,
    rahul

  • Question about setting track level

Hi I finally got my new macbook pro and moto 8 pre and have just today tried a bit of recording just to get used to it. I am at the moment using garage band. I have a question about track levels. In Garage Band when I select a track to record there is a slider for input level or an option of clicking the automatic level control. But for some reason they are both just that color of grey you get when something can not be selected on a computer. How do I activate this? It's strange as I did actually manage to record the track, I just can't seem to really adjust the level. I thought maybe it has to do with the motu and I can only select the track level there, and that garage band level setting are (rightfully) disabled? Maybe that's what I should be doing, but just a bit confused. Anyway, thanks in advance for whoever takes the time to help out a newbie.

Ah, ok. Good to know. Thanks for the info.

  • Question about section tracking .

    Hi everyone,
I've been searching for a while both in this forum and the Web about this matter, but I wasn't able to find an answer... So sorry if this question has already been solved.
I am developing a JSP/Servlet web site (that will be the home of an investigation project) and I need to keep track of the Section of the site where the user is.
For example, at the moment whe are at Developers Home > Developer Forums > Java Forums > Enterprise & Distributed Computing > Web Applications > JavaServer Pages (JSP) and JSTL >
I can't figure out how to do this using JSP/Beans/Listeners... Could you please suggest me a way of doing it?
    Thanks in advance,
    Dominguez Illobre

It is very hard via a web interface to keep constant track of a user.
They can use the back button to "get out of synch" or even just type a new URL into the address bar directly.
There isn't a generic solution as far as I am aware.
Probably the easiest way is to have an application level map, that for each user stores the "section" of the last request that they made.
Would that suffice? Probably you could do it with a servlet filter, so it would run on every single request.
What is it you are trying to accomplish?

  • Change management & Transport tracking

    Dear All,
I am not sure whether this is the right forum but I will address my questions here and if not relevant you can redirect me.
At Coca Cola Hellenic  we are searching for an application/tool to cover the below functionality.
Basically STMS consists of three systems (DEV, QAS, PRD). By the moment CCH has in its SAP landscape five systems per type (two DEV, two QAS and one PRD). Five, because we use one route DEV->QAS->PRD support of productive applications and the other DEV->QAS route we use for upgrades, CCH projects and template releases. Above situation is the ideal case, but there will be cases when we'll have to deal with more than two QAS, more than one PRD, etc. It is very crucial for us to have application or tool that has to be able to keep and ensure consistency of all kind of SAP objects between predefined list of systems, no matter which is the original one(for the object).
To be able to keep track of all types of TRs import in every system from STMS - workbench, customizing, transport of copies and relocations and objects included in them, i.e. for workbench TRs - source code to be checked and for IMG - customizing to be checked. More than beneficial will be the options to compare and check versions of sap script and smartforms. Good to have grouping of TRs(not talking for merge, as it is not possible for different type of TRs) that is different, than SAP project and allows us predefined sequence of import, i.e. to be able to define TR dependences. This is needed for changes that may have as workbench objects and customizing objects also...
Same to be possible for non-ABAP objects also.
    Here is an example:
Couple of change requests are created to change tone and he same object (CR1 and CR2), when they are released from development, they will each deposit new versions of the same object in the test environment. Because the last import of the object (CR2) will represent the most recent version of the object we need to make sure that CR2 is imported last and only after all predecessor changes are imported as well (CR1).
The thing we want to avoid is to have CR1 imported after CR2 which will overwrite all the latest changes and bring the object back to an old version. The object in the quality system would then differ from that in the development system and the two system would be inconsistent.
The same goes for the import of both changes from the test environment to the productive. We need to have a control over the SAP import and may be export queues which is to ensure the correct sequence of import and consistency of the objects in all systems.
    Thanks and regards, Teodora
    Project Services Leader
    Coca Cola Hellenic

    Hi Teodora
SAP Solution Manager Change Request Management has an optional function, called Cross System Object Lock. You can customize if you get a warning or an error when the same key (customizing or workbench) is written to a transport request. SolMan is checking is there already a key for the same productive system, which is so far not imported in production. If yes, regardless if this is another dev. system or not you can block this change.
I agree a consultant would be good, but you can start looking in the IMG searching for CSOL or Cross System Object Lock.
