Requirement for inputting Traditional Chinese language

I bought Torch 9860 in the UK two years ago, and I can't input traditional Chinese language.  Is it possible to download some software so that I can input tranditional Chinese language?

Hey BRENDA93,

  • Traditional Chinese Language (Character Input)

Assuming the Mac can display Traditional Chinese, then it can be said that it can also input Traditional Chinese.
-Do you still have the same options as you do for PC?
(e.g 'Chang Jie', 'Quick' and 'New Phonetic')
    or
-Is it through Mac, and is completely different?

then it can be said that it can also input
    Traditional Chinese.

  • Traditional chinese language support for pearl flip 8220?

I just got a pearl flip from T-Mobile.  I'm happy with most features, however, there is no Chinese language support whatsoever.  All the Chinese characters show up as black boxes.  Anyone know of any fixes so that I can read and input Chinese (traditional Chinese)?
    Solved!
    Go to Solution.

Your device OS does not support chinese symbols.
Ask your wireless provider for a multi-language device OS that supports chinese characters.
Otherwise - check a chinese wireless provider for device OS. But note that your wireless provider disfavor use of device os from another wireless providers.
If you decide to use OS from another wireless provider - use OS exactly for your device model.
Install OS package on your desktop computer. After that delete Vendor.xml file from installed files on your desktop PC.
Connect your device to the computer and update device OS via Blackberry Desktop Manager/Application Loader.

  • File upload and download in solaris for korian and chinese language

    Hi,
We are working on our code to support chinese and korian languages.
I am facing problems when i upload or down load any chines or korian files to server.
Can some body tell me is there any extra settings required in server as well as our code which can support the above.
    Regards,
    Sanjib

If i do set LC_CTYPE=en_US.ISO859-1 the english contents are getting uploaded properly but chinese and korian are going for a toss. But if i change the same to UTF-8 then files name gets uploaded correctly but the contents goes for a toss.

  • Fix a Bug in OS X.5.2 for input simplified chinese using AZERTY keyboard ?

    Bonjour,
I use Leopard on my new MacBook, which has a french AZERTY keyboard. My main language is french, but sometimes i have to write some simplified chinese caracters.
When i choose the simplified chinese input method ITABC, my keyboard acts like a QWERTY keyboard ! So it is difficult to input text because i have to guess where are the letters.
This bug existed in the first versions of Mac OS X, and then was fixed in the next versions (Panther and Tiger worked fine). Using Tiger on my old PowerBook 12", when i chose the chinese ITABC input method, the keyboard continued to act "normally", i mean like an AZERTY keyboard.
And the bug appeared again with Leopard...
Can you tell me how to fix this problem ?
Or, more likely, can a nice Apple developper fix this problem on the next OS update ? (OS X.5.3)
That would be very nice, thanks
    Dudusiong

Thanks for the answer. But i'd prefer not to spend my money to buy a solution to overpass this bug, i just want to fix it or get it fixed by Apple.
Does anyone have an idea about how i could tell my computer not to switch from AZERTY to QWERTY when i select the Simplified Chinese Input Method ?
I'm sure it can be done by modifying a file in the system. I think things are set up in the file named SCIM (as Simplified Chinese Imput Method), located in the directory : .../System/Library/Imput Methods/
But i don't know what to do to fix the problem, and how to do it...

Re: forum support for Adobe Reader
created by Nikhil.Gupta in Adobe Reader - View the full discussion
The request being sent to the akamai server, (even when the Reader updater setting is turned OFF) is for updating the Adobe Approved Trust List (http://www.adobe.com/security/approved-trust-list.html).
The Adobe Approved Trust List is a program that allows millions of users around the world to create digital signatures that are trusted whenever the signed document is opened in Adobe® Acrobat® or Reader® software. Essentially, both Acrobat and Reader have been programmed to reach out to a web page to periodically download a list of trusted "root" digital certificates.
If you want you can specifically turn off the auto update functionality for the same by navigating to Edit > Preferences > Trust Manager from within the Reader application. Look under the "Automatic Updates" section and you can change the setting as required or chose for the application to ask before updating the root certificates.

  • Traditional Chinese input method

I would like to suggest more Chinese input methods should be added in the iPhone 3G.
FOr example, Traditional Chinese 'Jianyi' - 'Simplex', this is more convenient to use than 'pinyin'.
I hope that this will be covered in the new update.

how do you change to chinese input method?

  • Display problem when reading Traditional Chinese in Crystal Report 2008

    Hi All,
I have tried to connect MS SQL 6.5 to build up a report. However, I encounter a problem when read Traditional Chinese. all chinese characters turn into adnormal characters. I wonder it is problem of SQL Server or some setting that I may not know. In addition, I can able to read chinese in the application program , ISQL / Query Analyzer. Please help to give idea and suggestion to fix this. Thanks
SQL Server: MS SQL Server  6.5
Client OS: Window XP ( Traditional Chinese Version)
Server OS: Window NT and Window Server 2000
    Stsyou

    Hi
If you are using a Chinese language build database, Crystal Reports English build might not display the characters properly as non english databases include one byte characters as ASCII code character and double-byte characters as their own language code character.
Traditional Chinese, Simplified Chinese, Japanese (Kanji, Hiranga, and Katakana), Korean and Vietnamese use double-byte characters.
However, a possible workaround to this issue is to verify that the encoding on the database client is configured according to the examples below. Also, you will need to install the language pack in the English environment.
    CONFIGURATION EXAMPLES:
    Shift-JIS for a Japanese database
Big5 for a Traditional Chinese database
GB2312 for a Simplified Chinese database
    iso-2022-kr for a Korean database
Windows 1258 for a Vietnamese database
    EXAMPLE SCENARIO:
An Oracle database saves non-English language data such as Japanese.
The Windows operating system is English.
STEP TO CONFIGURE THE CHARACTER CODE IN THE ENVIRONMENT SETTING
(This step is based on the details of the EXAMPLE SCENARIO.)
    1. Configure the system environment on the database client side to 'Shift-JIS' as the character code set in the Environment Setting.
This results in the NLS_LANG variable set to Japanese_Japan.JA16SJIS under the registry HKEY_Local_Machine\Software\Oracle\Homeo.
STEPS TO INSTALL LANGUAGE PACK IN AN ENGLISH ENVIRONMENT
(These steps are based on the details of the EXAMPLE SCENARIO.)
    1. Add languages to the computer system by clicking:
Control Panel > Regional Options > General
    2. Select the check box for 'Traditional Chinese', 'Simplified Chinese', 'Japanese', 'Korean' or 'Vietnamese'.
    3. Click 'Apply'.
    4. When you are prompted, insert the Windows CD-ROM to install the language pack.
    5. Restart the computer.
Upon completing these steps, you are able to display the languages characters in the Crystal Reports Designer in a Windows English environment.
    ==========
    NOTE:
If the database table and field names use non-English language characters, Data Explorer in CR will not correctly display these names. However, when you preview the report, the non-English data displays correctly.
    ==========
Configuring the database client according to the examples and installing the language pack will display the characters successfully. However, there are cases when this workaround does not resolve the issue.
For further information about CR and double-byte languages, refer to knowledge base articles, c2008083 and c2008349.
    Hope this helps!!!
    Regards
    Sourashree

When users try to open my distributed forms using Adobe Reader 9 they get an alert box which states:

  • ITABC input method for Chinese language

*Languages and Texts: Input Source: Chinese-Simplified: ITABC*
I recently upgraded from Tiger to Snow Leopard. On Tiger, I found the ITABC input method for Chinese-Simplified language the most useful. Since upgrading to Snow Leopard on my desktop (and also Snow Leopard on new MacBook Pro), the ITABC input method is absent from the Chinese-Simplified Input Sources tab.
Can anyone help me with why this? Can I somehow get the ITABC input back?

Isn't the "Pinyin" on the list very similar to ITABC?
If you have problems with it, best to ask on the Chinese-Mac list.
