  • Restored iPod to 4.2.1  Previously working apps now say "Update Required: This app requires IOS 4.3"

I recently restored my iPod Touch because e-mail, contacts, and calendar stopped working.  Upon restore, I noticed many apps failed to reinstall.  Apps like Yelp, Facebook, etc.  Roughly 10-15 in total are missing entirely. I can select the app in iTunes and move the icon but the application will not install.  If I install the app from the iPod its self, an error comes up saying "Update Required: This app requires IOS 4.3".  IOS 4.3 is not available for my iPod.
I don't care if I don't have the latest version on the App store, but I do want the latest version available for my device.
How do I install the latest compatible version from the App store onto my iPod?
(I also have a new iPad.  I think that had a part to play in replacing the compatible apps with incompatible ones.)

my ipod touch 1st gen keeps on saying when i come to download an app it says update required this app requires ios 4.3 please help

Sorry, but there is nothing you can do other than buy a newer iPod. A 1st-generation iPod touch cannot run any version of iOS later than 3.1.3 and hence cannot run any app that requires a newer version.

  • Blackberry 8800 - does not meet system requirements for app world

hi, i have recently boght a second hand blackberry 8800, which was o2 and now has a tesco sim card in it, running V 4.2.1.101.
The problem is that i can't get app world to download.  I can browse, and use BBM so my blackberry browsing is on?
I have phoned and checked with Tesco, and as far as they can see i have the data plans etc, just possibly need to update my OS.  But when i plug in to the PC and run an update check it says there are none available.  Also, the requirements for App world are V4.2 which i have, so i am getting a bit stuck now.
Any help would be great as I'm getting a bit annoyed now!!! TA
    Solved!
    Go to Solution.

The requirement for running AppWorld is not  OS 4.2, it's OS 4.5 according to the download page on www.blackberry.com .  That's where you're running into problems.  Updating your OS would solve that.
    Here's the link stating that:

my ipod touce reset and all previous apps now say "update required" this app requires ios3.0 up to 5.0. I have not been able figure out how to update

It sounds like you have a 1G iPod Touch, which can go as high as iOS 3.1. If it's a 2G iPod Touch, it can be updated to iOS 4.2.1.  See here to help you identify what generation iPod Touch you have.

  • May 1, 2013 Apple Requiring Retina Apps- iPad DPS Status

I recently read apple is requiring all apps to be retina on May 1, 2013 and am currently creating a multi rendition iPad layout.
I have DPS Single Edition. I am trying to figure out if I build a multi-rendition dps app. Is this considered a retina app?
Or does apple consider the multi rendition 1024 by 768, and would be regected by Apple?
What is the suggested path from Adobe on this issue going forward - forcing you to create retina only with no support for older models? Or to force the purchase of DPS Enterprise to create a Multi-Folio for both sizes?
Thank you I apreciate any feedback!

I have used MSOs with text and PDF images that are exported in vector format. MSOs use also Slideshow Auto Play and Cross Fade so that the MSOs start to change states automatically when page is turned. When I use the app from iPad 4 via Adobe Content Viewer, the MSOs have notable delay in focus. (and since iPad 4 has better performance I am affraid to even think what kind of delay there would be with iPad 1-3...)
If MSO doesn't have Auto Play but instead user triggers state change via Button, there is no delay.
I would really like to use the Auto Play due to better user experience. Does anyone have any advice for me how to achieve this without notable delay?
Is it possible that once the app is available in the App Store and user starts to use the app from the iPad the delay would be shorter? Or even disappear? What I mean is that, does the Adobe Content Viewer have longer delay?

  • Hardware Requirement  for APPS 11I and R12

    Hello experts,
i want to purchase new laptop for practice oracle 11i or r12.
please suggest me what should harware requirement, mainly processor and operating system.
as i want to buy I3 processor with window 7 4 gb ram. 500 gb hard disc.
but my frnd told me that apps do not work with window7.
    thanks
    yash

I would not recommend installing 11i at this time and your choice would be R12 (12.1.1) -- You may upgrade to 12.1.3 later if you want.
For the hardware specifications, please make sure you have at leave 8 GB RAM.
For the disk space, the total space required for a standard system (not including the stage area) is 85 GB for a fresh install with a production database, and 233 GB for a fresh install with a Vision Demo database. For the stage area directory (where you will run the installer from), you need at least 47 GB to accommodate the file system and database files in the stage area.

Please note that Windows 7 is not certified and you cannot manage to install R12 on this OS. So, your options here would be installation a VM and have a supported OS (Windows/Linux).

  • Change in technical skills required for APPS Release 12 ?

    Hi all,
My doubt/concern is: In APPS 11i, to become a technical developer, a person must have Oracle D2K + Pl/Sql skills as your basic skills for development/implementation. But I heard that starting from Release 12 onwards, there will not be any Oracle Forms/Reports involved. Instead , we need to develop Oracle APPS using Java only (Jdeveloper) from Release 12 onwards.
Is this true ? If yes, then are exisitng/new APPS Developers required to learn/migrate to Java Technology ? Kindly please advice as I do not have any experience/knowledge in Java and i am preparing to start my career in Oracle APPS.
    Regards,
    Kumar

Thank you very much for your encouragement.
I have 3 yrs of experience in Pl/Sql,Forms,Reports + some experience as Oracle DBA (9i Developer OCP + 9i DBA OCP). I have 2 options now, either become an:
    1) Oracle DBA/Oralce APPS DBA or
    2) Oracle APPS Technical Developer
For Option 1, I need to do some more certifications/gain DBA work experience I am confident that I can become an Oracle DBA or Oralce APPS DBA very soon.
For Option 2, I need to do learn Oracle APPS 11i basics first and then get a junior level APPS Technical Programmer Job somewhere. So It will take 2 more years for me to get comfortable with Oracle APPS 11i. But by that time, APPS Release 12 and Fusion will get released and all my current skillsets will not be enough to cope up with that. So I need to learn/switch to Web Services,BPEL,Java/J2EE,XML/CSS/XSL/JavaScript/ADF at that time. Please note that I dont have any knowledge in these technologies too and so I need to start from the basics only.
So taking my current skillsets into account, kindly please help me in chossing any one of the above 2 options, which will best suit me. Thanks in advance for any help that you would offer to me.

  • Apple id password still required for app updates

for some reason i still have to enter apple id password when updating apps... can some let me know how to turn password requirement off
    thanks
    mick

I found this on another thread. I disabled restrictions on my iPhone and it no longer asked for my password. I have not tried re-enabling restrictions though to see if the problem reoccurs.

  • Why is my password still required for app updates on my iPhone with iOS6?

I've updated my iPhone 4S and my new iPad both to iOS6.  Now when I try to install updates no password is required on the iPad, but my iPhone still pops up the password request window.
I've tried restarting the iPhone after the install but that didn't change anything.  Is there a setting or anything else that I need to change on the phone in order to no longer need to enter my password every time I update apps?

I found this on another thread. I disabled restrictions on my iPhone and it no longer asked for my password. I have not tried re-enabling restrictions though to see if the problem reoccurs.

  • Minimum age requirement for apps??

When I created my ID, after buying my ipod it asked for day and month but not year of birth.  I am trying to download an app and it's asking me to connect to itunes.  At this point it asked for my year of birth but I just picked a random year from the list.  I logged into my Apple ID on the internet and corrected my mistake (1980) but I'm still getting the same error on my ipod, that I do not meet the minimum required age.  I spent THREE HUNDRED freaking dollars on this thing and I just want to download a few games... this is SUPER frustrating!!!!  I don't even want to connect to iTunes I just want a few apps/games.

  • Is periodic maintenance required for app deployed on OAS on Windows?

    Hi,
We have an application that uses 7 BPEL processes and one web service deployed on OAS. Application is into production from the last 4 months.
We are bringing down the App server once in a while due to applying break fixes, etc.
But, now, considering the App is quite stable, we won't be planning to bring down the app server for few months. My question is, do we need to schedule planned downtime and restart the application server once in a while in view of memory leaks etc as the App is deployed on Windows Operating System?
It would be a great if I get some info/links that will give me the exact information.
    Thanks,
    Sasi Bhushan.

    Hi Chris,
    Thanks for the reply.
Yes. Infact we have taken care of log files. But wondering if memory leaks etc could cause total memory consumption and making the app server hung etc.
So, I am looking for some suggestion on whether we need the app server restart periodically or it's not required at all.
    Thanks,
    Sasi Bhushan.

  • Configurator adds Apple ID requirement to apps!

I'm using Configurator 1.2.1 to deploy 90 iPads in my school. I have purchased licenses for Pages and Keynote. After updating iPads and reloading apps, Pages requires entering an Apple ID yet Keynote doesn't. Some other non-Apple apps also require appleID now. The students can't get at information (notes) that they entered with Pages. How do I work around this?

Solved it. The apps new requiring Apple IDs and pw had been originally downloaded under a different Apple ID that what was being used by Configurator, and then the app had been added to the apps panel of Configurator which was running the true Apple ID for Configurator. Something got 'fixed' in the new relase of Configurator so that this discrepancy was corrected. Didn't happen the first time everything was loaded ... Still, the issue remains with paid apps.

  • What to do about the free version required by App Store

We are starting a new tablet-only magazine and have it ready in DPS.  Apple requires that we give away the first issue. I am wondering whether Adobe has any way to suspend its download cost for these issues. It could cost us several thousand bucks just to comply with Apple's rules. I'm hoping Adobe just overlooked this. The tablet arena is nascent and I suspect Adobe would like to encourage use of its platform. Awarding a credit for this would do the trick.

The first issue (which could be just a partial issue, a sampler, a freebie article) is part of the viewer app and resides on the Apple server, not on Adobe's. So even if it would be a paid app, Adobe wouldn't be tallying it as a download cost. Apple needs to know your content and editorial plans, in order to rule out inappropriate intentions.

  • I purchased an itrip Auto Pilot and require an app to use it according to my device I was setting up to play music in my car speakers.  I cannot find an app for this in the itunes store.  Help

I purchased an ITrip Auto Pilot and when attempting to use it to play music from my Iphone through my car speakers, I was promptedd to get an app from the itunes store to enable it to work.  I went to the itunes store and searched for an app and could not find one.  Can anyone tell me the app I need and where to get it for this itrip auto pilot made by Griffin?  It is supposedd to enable my iphone and ipod to play on my FM radio in my car.

You should go to the web site for the iTrip product and see what app it is, I'll bet there's a link there that will take you right to the app.  Don't worry, as you get more stuff it'll be easier to figure it all out, eventually it'll be plain old common sense that solves these types of issues for you
