After searching for an hour in metalink.oracle.com,
I cannot find the requirement of HRMS release 12.
Where can I find the requirement of HRMS release 12? such as CPU, memory, OS,,,..

Logic required to findout "Release To Date" of the Purchase order

Hi
We are developing a custom program to release purchase orders as per clients requirements. In that, in the output, we need to display the "Release To Date" of the purchase order. Consider the release codes are R1,R2& R3, and currently the PO is released by R1, then we need to show "Release To Date" as R1. Simillerly once R2 also released the PO, we need to show "R1 R2" in the Release To Date field. This you can see in the Release Tab of the PO.
Now we need to adopt the same logic in our custom program also. Which table i can find the release to date details. The latest release code of the PO also good enough to build the logic to findout the "Release To Date"
Any pointers would be of great help.

Change in technical skills required for APPS Release 12 ?

Hi all,
My doubt/concern is: In APPS 11i, to become a technical developer, a person must have Oracle D2K + Pl/Sql skills as your basic skills for development/implementation. But I heard that starting from Release 12 onwards, there will not be any Oracle Forms/Reports involved. Instead , we need to develop Oracle APPS using Java only (Jdeveloper) from Release 12 onwards.
Is this true ? If yes, then are exisitng/new APPS Developers required to learn/migrate to Java Technology ? Kindly please advice as I do not have any experience/knowledge in Java and i am preparing to start my career in Oracle APPS.

I have 3 yrs of experience in Pl/Sql,Forms,Reports + some experience as Oracle DBA (9i Developer OCP + 9i DBA OCP). I have 2 options now, either become an:
1) Oracle DBA/Oralce APPS DBA or
2) Oracle APPS Technical Developer
For Option 1, I need to do some more certifications/gain DBA work experience I am confident that I can become an Oracle DBA or Oralce APPS DBA very soon.
For Option 2, I need to do learn Oracle APPS 11i basics first and then get a junior level APPS Technical Programmer Job somewhere. So It will take 2 more years for me to get comfortable with Oracle APPS 11i. But by that time, APPS Release 12 and Fusion will get released and all my current skillsets will not be enough to cope up with that. So I need to learn/switch to Web Services,BPEL,Java/J2EE,XML/CSS/XSL/JavaScript/ADF at that time. Please note that I dont have any knowledge in these technologies too and so I need to start from the basics only.
So taking my current skillsets into account, kindly please help me in chossing any one of the above 2 options, which will best suit me. Thanks in advance for any help that you would offer to me.

Access/Privilege required for UPDATE/RELEASE actions

I am a new user of BPEL 101.3.1. I have configured the identity service to CUSTOM and have given the following roles to the user created
Roles :-
1. BPMSystemAdmin
2. BPMWorkflowAdmin
3. BPMDefaultDomainAdmin

5. BPMWorkflowSuspend
6. BPMWorkflowViewHistory
The Acquiring/Reassignment of the task is happening successfully but then as an when i am trying to Update the Task or Release the Task then i am getting the following error.

SSP in EHP6 requires SRM? (release notes discrepancy)

On service marketplace, the EHP6 presentations for self service purchasing have a discrepancy that I'm trying to clarify. Two of the presentations make no mention that SRM is required for SSP (business function LOG_MM_SSP_1), but the detailed presentation states that installing and configuring SRM is required.
Is there an authority from SAP that can clear up this matter?

The database is at release 8.52. The PeopleTools being run require database

Created a DEMO system using PeopleTools 8.51 and HCM 9.0 . Connecting through Application Designer shows the message 'The database is at release 8.52. The PeopleTools being run require databases at release 8.51.
Do I need to run rel851.sql to change the level of database to 8.51 from 8.52 ???

You have downloaded HCM Revision 5, which is deliverd with PeopleTools 8.52.03.
Oracle is delivering revision recuts of applications now a days, instead of one release per applications.

Running the rel script, will upgrade you PeopleTools, you cannot downgrade.
You will have to install PeopleTools 8.52.03.

Release demand to SNP - Strange requirement

Hi,
We have some strange requirement during release demand from DP to SNP.
We use demand planning system to plan future demands and release to SNP for supply planning. And we use TDP ( 10 days, a posting period) as storage bucket profile in DP and 9ASNP in SNP.
Now the requirement is to release demand of 1 TDP to SNP on one fixed day.
For example, my TDP is 1 - 10 (dates) and demand is 100 tons. I want to release total demand on only 5th i.e. on 5th my demand should be 100 tons and remaining all days it should be 0 tons.
Like that we need to release for every TDP demand into one day in that TDP.
The issue here is DP will have information of demand daily wise and hence am not able to release total demand on a fixed day.
I have referred some user exits for doing this, but not able to figure it out whether it will fulfill my requirement or not (Infact i could not able understand the purpose of the user exits). Can anyone please tell me, the user exits which can be used in demand release to SNP and how those will work???
Also can anyone please let me know how i can proceed on this requirement?

Setting release strategy for PR for mixed requirement

Dear SAP gurus,
I have a mixed requirement for PR release strategy. For instance, there will be 2 types of PR created in my company. One is created manually, the other one created from MRP. The requirement is that for PR created manually the release strategy will kicked based requisitioner data. While for PR created from MRP, the release strategy will be based on MRP controller.
At first I thought that it is possible to have 2 class set for PR (both should be released at header level), but apparently it is not. So I'm forced to create ONE class that supposedly able to cater both condition.
So at first I create one class with 2 chars: MRP controller and requistioner
For PR which is created manually: I put requistioner eq 'FINANCE' and MRP controller blank (with the hope that ALL value doesnt matter),
For PR which is created from MRP: I put MRP controler eq '001' and requsitioner blank (with the hope that it means that ALL value doesnt matter).
However it seems that SAP consider that blank means blank. I tried with * it also not working. How can I configure this kind of scenario?

The solution that we implement is to have an exit to determine the requisitioner in the PR based on the MRP controller. Thus we have a common solution for both PR

Capacity Requirement From Released Production Order

As a standard practice the system creates the capacityrequirements once the production order is created.
Check this,
When a production order is created the following actions are carried out:
·        A routing is selected, its operations and sequences are transferred to the order
·        The bill of materials is exploded and the items in the bill of material are transferred to the order
·        Reservations are generated for bill of material items held in stock
·        The planned costs for the order are generated
·        The capacity requirements are generated for the work centers
·        Purchase requisitions are generated for non-stock items and externally-processed operations

PO Release strategy

Hi,
I have a unique requirement in PO release strategy. The requirement is if the PO doesn't have any contract it should be subjected to 2 step release process. If there is a contract then it should be subjected to 1 step release process.
Now i have created 2 release strategies one with 2 step release and the other one with 1 step release with the same charecteristic values. The only exception is i have used the 'USER DEFINED CHARECTERISTICS' - USRC1 with the value of X in one step release strategy and the value of BLANK in 2 step release strategy.
After doing all these settings Release strategy is not trigerring at all. Firstly it has to trigger the release then using the exit we can change the release strategies depending upon the conditions.
Any suggestions are highly appreciated to fix this issue.

How to edit the campaign when status is Approved & Released

Dear All,
I am using the User Status profile to controll all the status of the campaign.
The status are as follows
1. Create
2. Accept by Dept1
3. Accept by Dept2
4. Accept by Dept3
5. Approve
6. Release
When user clicks on status Approve & Release the campaign goes into Display mode.
Suppose user wants to edit the validity date of the campaign like prepone or postpone system will not allow to change.
My question is Is it possible to edit, when the status Approve & Release ?

Hi Pramod,
According to system standard settings system will not allow to change the Campaign activity after approved or released activities .
But we can change the validity period in the approved state, if you want to change the any data like increase the cost or change the product hierarchy, at that time you need to get back staus and change the required data later move to forward.
Idon't think any changes required for the released activity, but in the approved state client requires some changes , than we have to change the standard settings in the SPRO for the user interface settings and Status Profile of the activity .
