Requirement to update bios serial and product ID

Hi,
I have just recently had to source a new system board for my sister in laws laptop computer as she fried one and it was cheaper than a new box, this has fixed the initial issue however because it is a new new board the serial number on the board displays as 0000-00000-0000 etc as does the product id.
What i would like to know is if anyone has a copy of the HP Bios editing utility that i can use to rectify this issue without having to waste my time explaining to a script reading helpdesk worker somewhere three times what the issue is, so i can just update these fields...
Alternatively suggestions of a good third party utility for doing so would appreciated, I have looked around the interweb and found nothing as of yet.

I don't know the solution but some users say that they have called HP and they have sent a field technician to rewrite the mobo ID by some kind of utility which is not available to the public or not recommended for non-experienced users..

SOP-S076, Actual Data Update for Sales and Production

Hi All,
I have been working on a prototype to display the Actual Sales and Actual Production figures accurred during the past periods along with the Sales Forecast figures. I am using Product Groups and the standard Info Structure S076 provided in the Standard SOP.
Currently, the system is live with similar solution. However, when I display the entries in SE16 for the Version 000, I get a message "No entries found". As per the documentation, Version 000 needs to be populated by SAP and it can not be changed. Therefore, I can not pull these figures in any of the Planning Types I created.
I would appreciate any guidance to activate the Actual Version 000, in the Info Structure S076.

I also tried to activate this info structure in the case that SAP might have allowed updating definitions for S076 in ECC5, using the TCodes OMO* series in the IMG. However, there is still no Update Definition option for S076. When I display S076 using SE16N for the Version 000, nothing is displayed again in Production System.
I guess all this leads to posting an OSS note.
I would appreciate your comments.

My tablet started to show the missing serial and product number after i have upgraded the bios to the latest version. now my windows 8.1 is asking to reactivate windows.
i have not changed the board or any other hardware update. what i did is only drivers and bios updates after i upgraded dro windows 8 pro to to windows windows 8.1 pro.
please help to get it resolved.

BIOS Serial Number Issue.

I am using Lenovo g50-70. When I type "wmic bios get serialnumber" on the command prompt.It is showing numeric values instead of alpha numeric. I already installed BIOS software, still showing numeric values. Please give me answers to my questions. 1) Is BIOS and Product serial number both are same? 2) Is BIOS serial number is numeric or alpha numeric? 3) Is there any possibility to put/change BIOS serial number as Product Serial number? Welcome to the Forums
As per the query we understood that you are facing issue with touchpad in your Lenovo G50 laptop.
Serial number will be alpha numeric, as you have mentioned it shows only numeric you can make a BIOS default, restart the system and keeps tapping f9 key and select make BIOS default option.
Can you share the snap shot of the BIOS through private message so that we can validate the issue.

Invalid serial number and product name in g50

I just buy my laptop this last december and in bios it says that i had an invalid serial number and product name
what should i do to make it valid?
my friend said that it has an effect in chipsets and it bluescreened 4 times when win7 is the installed os and twice in win8.1
how to fix this?

Welcome to the Lenovo Forums.
Just to verify, did you get the Invalid Serial Number and Product Name issue out of the box or you got this after you sent the unit for service?
Usually, when the motherboard is replaced, the Serial Number and Product Name is flashed into the BIOS and the EC (Embedded Controller) is updated. If you got the issue after sending the unit for service, I recommend you contact lenovo and report your findings as these information needs to be reflashed into the system.
As for the BSOD, were you able to get the exact error code?

There is no p/w related to it and even though I tried to reset "password" it won't allow as the id does not exist, neither does the email associated with the old id. How do I switch it to a newer id?

It's all rather odd because the old account cannot 'no longer exist' - if you don't have the correct password you won't be able to get into it, but you can't actually delete an iCloud account from the server.
I'm afraid you will need the services of iCloud Support. If you currently happen to have AppleCare, either because you recently bought Apple hardware or have paid to extend the inititial period, you can contact them here:

You will need the serial number of the covered hardware.
If you are not covered by AppleCare, then - in common with other free email services - there is no free support and you may be asked to pay a fee.

You installed a hacked app, originally from the Mac App Store. It contains the receipt for a different app, downloaded using an account that you don't control. You need to identify and remove the hacked app.
Important: The app you need to remove is not necessarily the one named in the App Store notice. For example, if the App Store says you need to update "Twitter," the hacked app may be "Angry Birds" or something else entirely. Don't make any assumptions about which app you're looking for. To find it, you have to carry out a systematic search.

Replaced Lenovo Motherboard- now Serial # and Model are Invalid in the BIOS

Greetings I recently replaced the MB in my K450 Desk Top-- (second time I had to replace it, first time was under warranty) I found an actual Lenovo branded replacement board spec'd for my machine, put it in, and it works flawlessly except... The problem is the BIOS reporting Serial # and Model as "INVALID". How can I update these values ?? The computer works fine with the exception of Office 365 asking me to (re) activate the software and I get 2 error beeps when booting up and a message about the model and serial.. I searched the American Megatrends site for help on this topic, but didn't find many solutions other than to re-flash the BIOS but even that wasn't clear whether I could update those values.. Any advice, suggestions ?

Lenovo generally accepts it, I don't see why they wouldn't...what type of a warranty do you have on this machine?
BTW, when you press F1 and enter BIOS, it's all there: somewhere in the very middle of the screen there's a row beginning with your machine type (say 7675CTO) and the next set of figures (no space in between)in the same row is your actual serial number.

Update BIOS and lost slic

Hello.
i have updated bios on my Elittebook 8570w (built in windows 8 pro)
but now, windows 8 is not actived although i try to install it many times.
i checked the slic and see that its version is 2.1 (is it the slic version of windows 7?)
Will my slic be lost?

HP DV4-1114NR bricked by HP's own bios update help plz and thank you

Hello friends, I have a HP dv4-1114nr, I downloaded the Bios update from hp and guess what? it bricked the laptop. I have read several forums on how to fix this, i have gotten as far as attempting to restore the bios, renaming the bios and putting it on a flash drive... The windows+ B key is definitely the way to launch recovery, with my bios i am not sure what to rename the file and also is it a requirement that it be on a small usb drive and that it be FAT format only? any help would be greatly appriciated. I have been working on it for weeks now... Thank you and god bless..

If the HP_TOOLS partition is still on the hard drive, it may contain a copy of the original bios that was replaced by the newer one.
To recover the bios from the HP_TOOLS partition hold Win+B down while you power up, continue holding Win+B until you hear some beep(s) then let up, it may take some time to recovery and may show no signs of activity or mesaages.
If Win +B does not work try all 4 arrow keys.
Usually the bios file name must match the motherboard model number.

BIOS Update for nVidia GTX 550 Ti? I have a BIOS "not for production use"

I bought a new computer about a month ago, and it all works well, but every now and then, the whole system freezes completely for 2-4 minutes, and then afterwards resumes where it was. This is extremely annoying, and it really could be anything, I don't have evidence that it's the video card, but I'm trying to get everything updated to the latest version.
When my computer boots up, I see this message:

I noticed the same thing... BUT I made 2 mistakes:
Failed to make a copy of this BIOS using GPU-Z
Updated to 1.06 via MSI Update 5 (26110.rom)
Then I read the posts on this subforum and realized my mistakes.
I'm just in the initial stages of installing software on this machine, so I haven't noticed any problems.
I saved the updated BIOS via GPU-Z and compared the hashes against the 1.06 BIOS offered by MSI on their page for this card (NV261MS.106) ==> they matched MD5: 52ECDDEFAEA86E745C09FF8A43541078
Afterburner 2.1.0 gives the following info:

I have version 5.7 and every time I opened it I was told that updates are available and to click on the icon to access these. Instead it just took me to the
adobe page with nowhere visible to update. I then sought to download lightroom cc and this is when I could not access the 'develop' section due to reduced
functionality It was apparent that my photos had been put in cc but no way to access them unless I wanted to subscribe.
I have since remedied the problem as my original lightroom 5.7 icon is still available on the desktop and have gone back to that. I do feel that this is a bit
of a rip off and an unnecessary waste of my time though.

Why not simply remove yoru payment info by selecting None at top?
