Requirement type

Hi
I want to create production order with reference to sales order.
If iam using requirement type KSL/KSV error is coming
"Sales order has no co object"
IF iam using requirement type KE it is working..
I tried strategies: 20 & 40
Thanks in advance
Regards,
Srihari.

Hi,
The req. types KSL/KSV are for make to stock scenarios.
Here the independent requirements are passed thorugh t.code md61. For strategies 10,40 you can use this.
For 20 you do not use md61. Instead we create a sale order using KE.
This is shown in md04 screen. When mrp is run, pl. order is created for the sale order requirement.
For details reg.the req.types, check in spro->Production->Demand management

  • Information on Requirements type in scheduling agreement

Does anyone can give me infomation about 'requirements type' found in the procurement tab of the scheduling agreement?

    Hi,
The requirement type determination in orders/ SA as follows:   requirements types are determined according to a specific search strategy beginning with the material strategy group. Strategy for Determining the Requirements Type
    1. First, an attempt is made to find a requirements type using the strategy group in the material master.(note: Define a requirement type and a class for each strategy which you will  define in the production module)
    2. If the strategy group has not been maintained, the system will determine it using the MRP group.
    3. If the MRP group has not been defined, the system uses the material type instead of the MRP group when accessing the corresponding control tables.
    4. If no requirements type is found here, the system assumes a special rule and attempts to find a requirements type with the aid of the item category and the MRP type.
    5. If this is not possible, a last attempt is made to find a requirements type with the item category only.
    6. If the last attempt fails, the system declares the transaction as not relevant for the availability check or transfer of requirements
Hope this will help you to understand better

  • Incorrect requirements type in sales doc.

    HI,
Due to incorrect requirements types of material the costs and sales volume are posted directly to sales doc instead of posting
    to WBS element.
How can this be fixed (after cancellation of posting)?
How can we identify already created u201Cincorrectu201D sales docs?

    Hi !
regarding your query, there may be various sales documents type which might be created during configuration.
Some of these might not be required by end users and need to be blocked so that wrong document types are not chosen. so an indicator 'X' is placed againt these document types and these can not be used.
There may be some documents wherein manual creation might not be allowed, and auto creation is desired. so againt these doc types-'A' is placed by which these doc types can not be created manually,
Other sales doc types might not be blocked so that they can be used or created manually, hence kept blank against the indicator field.
    Plz reward point if useful.

  • Two requirement type determined for PIR of a material

    Hi Experts,
I have a scenario wherein for one of the material with stragety 50, when the PIR is getting transferred from one info structure to Demand Management (Version A0) i get two line items for the same demand in MD63. I.e one line item with requriement type VSE and another line item with requirement type VSFB. The transfer is through a custom program.
What could be the reason for this? Why two requirement types are determined for the material? What is the determining factor?
Thanks in advance for the response
    Best Regards,
    Ganesh

You mean that the two line items in MD63 belongs to the different version ; active and inactive one?
    Several things you can check.
1  First check the MC7F whether configuration of your info structure is link to DM automatically (in Sync with Demand Management section).  If you create the transfer again, it may have duplicate records in demand management.
    2. Do you use the mass processing to transfer the data?  If so, please check the activity.  If you set the transfer twice, then it is duplicate.
    3.  Maybe someone maintained them manually and enter the requirement plan.  Normally the transfer from SIS will have blank requirement plan. Maybe you can check whether the requirement plan is maintained for any of the lines (in the item tab).
If you can do the screen shot for us, it will be very helpful to analyze.

  • MD61 -Authorization control for Version , requirements type -reg

    Hi,
We have an issue in providing MD61 -Create Planned Independent Requirements to the users
By standard authorization objects available , Plant level authorization control only is there
if we have to give authorization for many users in the same plant based on teh VERSION , REQUIREMENTS TYPE  etc... is it not possible ?
can the authorizations objects be created manually for these and assign to teh concerned user's roles ?
    please provide your thoughts
    regards,
    madhukiran.

    Dear Madhu,
Authorization objects can be added for an individual T Code also in SU24.
Check with your Basis consultant,Also i think its possible to give the authorization for versions as well
    as requirement type also.

  • Demand management - Requirement type

    Dear SAP Experts
Could someone kindly explain to me  What  "Requirement type" ( eg.LSF , BSF) controls, and what settings do i have to make to use any each of them.
How does each affect planning calculations?
    Thanking you all in advernce.
    Richard.

    Hi,
Hope you would have gone through the SAP notes on Requirement Type which is reproduced as under
Strategy for Determining the Requirements Type
    1. First, an attempt is made to find a requirements type using the strategy group in the material master.
    6. If the last attempt fails, the system declares the transaction as not relevant for the availability check or transfer of requirements.
    Now why we require it.
becuase same requirement types can be assigned to any number of item cateogies for different MRP types. Since item cateogories cannot be assigned to requirement class directly, requirement type is a link between them.
Though requirement type has no feature associated with it, it helps in assigning the correct requirement class in a sales document. Any number of requirement types can be assigned to requirement class. So MRP type in material master plays a vital role in fetching the rquirement class. Hence, you can enter manually the Requirement type in sale order but not Requirement Class.
    Thanks.......rakesh

  • Why do we require Type Casting?

    Hi,
In short can you guys share your experience and expalin me why and when do we require type casting of objetcs.I would appericiate if i get a simple application as an example.
    regards
    Vicky

    Hi,
In short can you guys share your experience and
nd expalin me why and when do we require type casting
of objetcs.I would appericiate if i get a simple
    application as an example.
    regards
VickyWhy do you need this again?
Well, really you need type casting because you want to be able to check for errors at compile time. You actually don't need any type casting if you just wait to link all your code at runtime.
Normally your function calls are checked vs the real 'type' at compile time to see if you are calling the function with the proper types and number of arguments. same with returning. However, you don't have to do this, just look at any scripting language. All that is checked at runtime.
Problems with not checking at compile time are mostly speed and corectness errors. The runtime might decide to call a different function then the one you wanted because at runtime a 'better' one was found. Of course now you would get a link error at runtime and the code would just not execute. There would be problems with overriding and hiding of functions, etc.
Also, since you can't link ahead of time it takes longer to execute functions since you have to find them everytime they are called.
The advantage is that you can be lazy about typing.
Typecasting primitaves are a whole other problem. I'm not even going to go into that, but check out scripting languages for examples of autocasting primitives.

  • Changing requirement type in sales order

    Hello,
I'm tryin' to change the position requirements type in an existing sales order (switching between make-to-order and make-to-stock). Both options are available to choose (KE and KSV).
But after saving the order the field is grey and no longer accessable.
    What is wrong?
    Thanks,
    Sebastian

    Hello Sebastian;
It can be the relationship between the "completion rule" in the item category and the "Pos./neg. quantity" field in the copy
control of the sales documents. It is blocked one way (if you try to change the field in the copy control when the completion rule is blank you get an error message) but it lets you go through when you remove the completion rule with a value already in the field "Pos./neg. quantity".
The rules that I mentioned above can be interfering when you make a changes in Requirement type.

  • How does the MRP Group determine the Requirement Type

    Hello,
I find in help that the MRP Group or the Strategy Group in the MRP view of the material master record determines what Requirement Type is used.
Could you please tell me in which table / transaction can I find the assignment of Requirement Type to MRP Group? I mean it in case when the Strategy Group has not been maintained.
I will appreciate your help very much.
    Best regards,
    Robert

    Dear,
System will pick the requirement type from strategy group maintained in MRP 3 view of material master, If the strategy group is not maintained, then only system will check the MRP group In MRP1 view and check the strategy group maintained in OPPR
Based on strategy Group- you can find the requirement type In IMG>production> Production Planning >Demand management> Planned Independent requirement -->Planning strategy -->Define strategy , From here you can find the requirement type and requirement class
    and then go to OVZG
if the requirement class have a setting for costing - order costing and costing details, while saving the sale order system will update the cost of goods sold in condition EK02

  • Requirement types & requirement class for trading goods.

    Dear all,
I am working on a project in which there are only trading goods. Majority of the items are make to order & few are make to stock.
For the make to order scenario, what will be the requirements type & requirements class to be used for the trading goods. Which item category is to be used......will it be TAN or different......
For the make to stock scenario, what will be the requirements type & requirements class to be used for the trading goods. Which item category is to be used......TAN cannot be used here as it will be used in the MTO scenario so diffferent controls.
What control parameters should I take care of while defining the requirements class & requirement type.
    With best regards,
    Niyaz Sayyed.

    Hi,
As my understanding,  You should copy a new requirement class and make the following parameters and its values.
       For Requirements,
          req.transfer is X
          Allocation ind. is 1
          Prod.allocation is X
         No MRP is blank
      For assembly
                    assembly type is 2,
                     order costing is X,
                     Special stock is E,
                     order type is ZXXX
You can refer to the sap standard MTO strategy 20 to complete your project. This is the most important parts defining the requirements for sales and distribution module.
