Requirements for netweaver-xi

hi
anybody could you please suggest me which operating system and hard ware requirements are suatable for installing netweaver-xi. i have the dvds based on maxdb non unicode.
thanks and regards,
krushi

Hi krushi,
1. Windows server or advanced server with latest service patch.
2. IE 6.0 with latest service patch
3. Install Microsoft office and winzip, acrobat
4. Install JDK with version 1.4.2_03 or above with the corresponding JVM
5. Install the SAP GUI 6.20
6. Make sure that you have hard disk space of 10 GB in C drive and 50 GB in the installation drive.
7. Make sure the virtual memory is between 512 and 1594 or above for the installation drive.
8. Copy the dumps of following DVDs into the installation drive.
• Installation Master DVD
• Installation Export
• Additonal Components for SAP BW/SAP XI,SAP MI,SAP KW
• SAP Web As Java
9. Start the installation from the DVD dump Installation Master DVD.
10. When installing the ABAP Database the SID of the oracle default database should be different the ABAP database SID.
U can go through the Installtion Guides for Installing XI from http://service.sap.com/instguides (SR1 installation)
u can also refer to service.sap.com/platforms to see the available platform on which XI can be installed. ( Windows/linux/UNIX)
or you can even go through this weblog which clearly talks to you about XI installation
XI installation
In addition to this installation guide you also need to download the XI configuration guide which is very useful for technical configurations of various adapters and XI system.
At the same place you will also get the XI configuration guide e.g XI30ConfigGuideSPS11.pdf.
U can also download SAP Exchange Infrastructure 3.0 SR1 Installtion Guide from the articles scetion.
In simple words regarding learning XI, there is an abundance of information on SDN and help.sap.com…. So I think it will be better for you to search information there rather than me just providing you links….which will just go on and on and on….so I felt it is better for you to go and search so that not only you get information on SAP XI but also explore SDN in its real sense.

  • CRM ISA Software Components required for Netweaver CE 7.1

    Hi Experts
    We are planning to migrate CRM ISA Application to Netweaver CE 7.1 environment. Currently we are in Netweaver 7.0 portal in which our CRM ISA 5.0 component is running.
    What are the Software components required for CRM ISA to be compatable for Netweaver CE 7.1 environment.
    Basically we need to know the SCA versions for CRM ISA compatable for Netweaver CE 7.1
    Any kind of documentation which describes SCA's and installation steps are very much helpful
    Thanks,
    cnu

    Hi cnu,
    Information about CRM Java component should be described in master guide, for example CRM 7.0 , these components are
    SAP Shared Java Applications 7.0
    SAP Java Data Dictionary 7.0
    SAP CRM Java Applications 7.0
    SAP Shared Java Components 7.0
    SAP Shared Web Components 7.0
    SAP CRM Java Components 7.0
    SAP CRM Web Components 7.0
    SAP IPC Mobile 7.0
    TeaLeaf 4.5
    you should be able to find the SCA files in service market place using these component name.
    Interesting to know why would you migrate from 7.0 to 7.1? or you just want to PoC? I don't think SAP will you support you unless you have made a very good deal with them.
    I also heard the version of web channel will bring some really good feature though it's still based on NW 7.0 with ehp, are you going to "migrate" it once again?
    good luck,

  • Hardware Requirements for NetWeaver

    Hi,
    Can any one help me to get Exact System requirements (Hardware) for NetWeaver Platform? (I.e. component wise Details) We are planning to move to NetWeaver Stack….I have tried at service.sap.com/instaguides but I didn’t get clear information about Hardware requirements…
    Help can be appreciated.
    Regards,
    Sudhir

    Sudhir,
    Several valid responses are already posted. Let me add a few additional considerations for your requirements analysis, the most difficult issue for hardware sizing/capacity planning.
    First of all, you need to identify the business solution you intend to run in the NW environment which means what components of NW stack you will using (like EP, XI, BW, etc.). You need to find the how the end user will access your system. In case an end user access outside of the LAN (say via WAN or dial-up) using https, it will have additional requirements for your hardware as you will need compression enabled for improved response time for WAN. Adding compression or SSL may add additional hardware if you based your sizing based on LAN.
    Now for an example, if you have EP in your system, you need to understand how large (say in KB) an average portal page is. How it is connected to the backend system, if any. You need to find out the performance requirements in terms of a predefined "transaction (say an end user click and response)" or in terms of number of either logged-on users (may not be active always but logged on) or concurrent users (active users) or combination of them.
    It will make your proper hardware planning challenging. One easy approach is after you define your test case, run some load test on your QA/Staging system. Use the load test data and find out the hardware requirements based on load test. If your requirement is larger than the staging system, you may have to take a staged approach. In that case you roll-out the system to a certain number of users and monitor the system and plan for additional users based on the monitored results.

    Swapan

  • Roles required for BPM operation

    Hi Everyone,
    Any idea what roles are required for the user used in receiver SOAP channel for accessing NWBPMs deployed on Java AS(Marked in Red)?
    I have already tried below :
    http://scn.sap.com/community/process-orchestration/blog/2012/06/12/ume-role-required-for-netweaver-bpm-development-and-testing
    https://help.sap.com/saphelp_nwce72/helpdata/en/45/d7d0e08a164c5e87e4604ba89c632a/frameset.htm
    With these roles it doesn’t work. I consistently get 403 forbidden error i.e. not sufficient authorization.
    Even tried roles like : SAP_BPM_SuperAdmin, SAP_BPM_TRIGGER_EVENT but same result.
    Only with full admin rights it works. Appreciate some inputs incase anybody has worked on this?
    Thanks,

  • System requirements for SAP Netweaver

    Hi All
        I would like to know the system requirements for SAP Netweaver installation on server.
    Thanks in advance
    Venkat

    Hi Venkat,
    Typically for EP it would be :
    On Windows:
    2 GR RAM,with 30-40GB HD,and with latest Windows SP`s and latest IE.
    If the server is for Production incease the RAM accordingly.
    For Portal RAM is very crucial,as SAPJ2EE Engine uses lot of RAM.
    I hope this helps.
    If yes,do award points.

  • BPC for NetWeaver OS requirement - Windows 2003 Standard vs. Enterprise

    Hello BPC Expert,
    I have a question in regard to the Windows Server 2003 edition for SAP BPC 7.0 for NetWeaver. On the Installation Guide of BPC NetWeaver SP03, the prerequisite for the Operating System for .NET Server component is Windows Server 2003 Enterprise Edition.
    My question: will Windows Server 2003 Standard Edition work for .NET component? We have a budget concern as the Enterprise Edition will cost couple more thousands than standard.
    Thank you,
    Bomo

    Hi,
    Yes you can use the Windows Server 2003 Standard Edition (32-bit and 64-bit). Shouldnt be a problem.
    Thanks.

  • BPC 7.5 version for Netweaver on Windows 2008 R2

    Hi all,
    I am installing BPC 7.5 version for Netweaver on Windows 2008 R2 SP1.
    I have completed installation and post installation steps for both ABAP and .Net components.
    Now, while executing  http://localhost/OSoft i am getting below mentioned error

    u2022Only integrated authentication is enabled, and a client browser was used that does not support integrated authentication.
    u2022Integrated authentication is enabled and the request was sent through a proxy that changed the authentication headers before they reach the Web server.
    u2022The Web server is not configured for anonymous access and a required authorization header was not received.
    u2022The "configuration/system.webServer/authorization" configuration section may be explicitly denying the user access.
    Any pointes toward solutions of this error?
    Thanks.

    Yes. Please check Server Manager -> Roles. Find Web Server (IIS) there (not a tree node, but on page), click "Add Role Services" and check that all Security role services are checked. If not - check, install missing role services, try .Net server, if it still doesn't work, reinstall.
    Otherwise it would not work.

  • Advices required for a JAWT implementation for Windows Mobile 5 and 6

    Hi,
    I want to create a jni bridge in order to open a player in a java Frame. This player works fine in a mobile native application.
    I want to know if somebody tried already to create such a bridge keeping in mind that this is for mobile environment. If yes, is there some specific problems which I should be aware of?
    Specifically I have 2 problems.
    1. My jni getHWND method always return 0.
    JNIEXPORT jint JNICALL Java_JavaRMEngineInterface_getHWND
    (JNIEnv *env, jobject obj, jobject component){
         HWND hWnd = 0;
    //try {
    typedef jboolean (JNICALL PJAWT_GETAWT)(JNIEnv, JAWT*);
    JAWT awt;
    JAWT_DrawingSurface* ds;
    JAWT_DrawingSurfaceInfo* dsi;
    JAWT_Win32DrawingSurfaceInfo* dsi_win;
    jboolean result;
    jint lock;
    bstrt jawtPath = "\\Windows"; // Put Path String from jrePath to jawtPath

    hAWT = LoadLibrary(jawtPath + bstr_t("\\jawt.dll"));
    //if(!_hAWT)

    if(_hAWT)
    PJAWT_GETAWT JAWT_GetAWT = (PJAWT_GETAWT)GetProcAddress(_hAWT, L"_JAWT_GetAWT@8");
    if(JAWT_GetAWT)

    //Get AWT API Interface
    result = JAWT_GetAWT(env, &awt);
    if(result != JNI_FALSE)
    ds = awt.GetDrawingSurface(env, component);
    if(ds != NULL)
    lock = ds->Lock(ds);
    if((lock & JAWT_LOCK_ERROR) == 0)
    dsi = ds->GetDrawingSurfaceInfo(ds);

    2. this second method throw an "error C2100 illegal indirection" at the last line on g_hwndMain.

         TCHAR* pEndPath = _tcsrchr(sInstallDir, L'\\');
         if (pEndPath != NULL)
              *(pEndPath + 1) = 0;
         TCHAR sContentDir[MAX_PATH];
         memcpy(sContentDir, sInstallDir, MAX_PATH);
         UINT nCacheSizeCPP = (UINT) nCacheSize;
         return *cpp_obj->construct( hDC, g_hwndMain, size, sInstallDir, sContentDir, 0);
    Any advice will be very helpful.

    Hello Brian,
    the client technology is based on web dynpro, but it runs in an own Mobile Client. Therefore you do not need the internet browser for the application.
    During the client development you can use the web dynpro tools to design the layout and the screen flow of your application. In the last step you can deploy the application to your mobile client and run it without a browser.
    The mobile client includes a web dynpro runtime to display the data. Therefore you do not need a J2EE server in order to run an application.
    The mobile occasionally connected scenario provides a api to access the local database. NetWeaver Mobile 7.1 for PDA supports two different databases:
    1. MinDB ( from SAP, included no additionals license fee required )
    2. DB2E
    NetWeaver Mobile includes a complete queing mechanism.
    You can also take a look into two eLearnings which provide a good technical overview:
    Link:  [Architecture and Runtime|https://www.sdn.sap.com/irj/sdn/go/portal/prtroot/docs/library/uuid/e048e20c-7246-2a10-e8a5-8b2b78b5b994]

    Unfortunetly there is no fixed timeline for WM6.But I guess this will be available soon.
    I'm afraid but also don't know of any fixed timeline regarding Adobe Interactive forms.
    The architecture of NetWeaver Mobile 7.1 is pretty new and full of great new functionalites. The User Interface for NetWeaver Mobile 7.1 uses eSWT to render the UI elements.
    Best Regards,
    Stefan

  • Components Required for CIC Web Client

    We have a question about CIC installation components for CRM 5.
    When we check the "Upgrade Master Guide" for "mySAP™ Customer
    Relationship Management" ( Pages 58 - 61 ) for all CIC components, we
    do not find that JAVA components are required for CIC ( Like JCRM).
    When we see details from Best Practices Doucment for CRM component matrix, we see that its required.
    We are not sure what to do. We were under the impression that Java
    components are not mandatory for CIC forCRM 5. All we need is TREX and IPC.
    Can someone please clarify/confirm ASAP as system needs to be build
    accordingly. If we do need JCRM, what functionalities is this required for?
    Thanks for help in advance.

    Hi Nikhil,
    With 04s all required installations will be completed by default. Just that you have create a domain and the track to make use Webdynpro Components in NWDI.
    Following are the SCs that are required.
