Requirements for Oracle Reports
We are using Oracle 9i Database (Standard Edition). Can anyone tell me what additional products would be needed in order to use Oracle Reports? What additional licenses would be needed for each? Thanks!
Depending on the version of Reports you are planning to user it could vary.
For Development Purposes:
- Developer Suite (Contains Forms, Report, etc.).
For Deployment:
- Version 6i: Nothing to buy, just install the runtime in each client, If you want it client/server mode. App Server license if you want it in web.
- Version 9i or greater: App Server license for the web. NO client/server option.

Installation Requirements for Oracle Apps Forms and Report Services OEL
Hi all.
Where can i find detail information about the installation requirements for Oracle Application Server Forms and Report Services under OEL 4 (Oracle Enterprise Linux) or OEL 5?
It seems there's only information about Oracle Application Server in general, not the reduced or partiuclar distribution, Forms and Reports Services.
Thanks in advance ....!I already saw the documentation for Forms and Reports Services Installation.
This thread is about the specific requirements, if any, for this product on OEL 5 or OEL 4.
See, there's a note on Metalink(546174.1) regarding some specific issues about installing Oracle Application Server on OEL5, but i'm not sure if this involves Oracle Application Server Forms and Reports Services.
The idea is to know if these issues applies to this specific distribution .
Hope you understand my question now. Thanks in advance -

Does anyone know if an OCI for Oracle Reports is available for Pro C/C++? If so where is it documented and how is it used?

Oracle7 for windows and OracleClient7 (oci.h, oci.o and others) for linux ?That would imply a really old version of windows (db side) and linux based os (client side). Perhaps SCO Unix was the only certified combination back then.
You should talk to someone who can verify platform/system requirements.
For the client side you might want to consider using a later Client release, a more recent old version (e.g. 8.1.7) that could talk to a Oracle7 server and work on your linux platform. There's a interoperability matrix on Metalink/MOS. -

Oracle WebLogic Server 11g (10.3.3) System Requirements
Oracle WebLogic Server supports a number of platforms including:
– Linux
– Sun Solaris
– HP-UX
– Windows 2000, 2003 Server, XP
• Processor:
– At least one 1 GHz CPU is recommended.
– Intel and UNIX processors are supported.
• Hard disk drive:
– A full installation requires approximately 2 GB of disk space.
– The Linux value for file descriptors must be 4096 or greater.
– Samples are optional (download from OTN).
• Memory:
– A minimum of 2 GB RAM is recommended for WebLogic
Server.
– Consider the number of simultaneous users and sessions.
– Consider in-memory programs, such as Coherence.
System Requirements
The following are some of the basic system requirements for Oracle WebLogic Server 10.3.3:
• The Oracle WebLogic Server installer requires a Java Runtime Environment (JRE) to run.
Oracle WebLogic Server is certified with JDK6.0. As part of the installation, it gives the option
to install the JRockit JDK 6.0 version. As part of postinstallation, prefix the bin directory of
the JDK to the PATH environment variable.
• The Oracle WebLogic Server installer requires a temporary location in which to unpack the
files. Typically, the installer requires approximately 2.5 times the amount of temporary space
that is required by the installed files.
Note: In this release of WebLogic Server, users can choose which components of WebLogic Server
they use. Specifically, this release allows users to choose whether the Enterprise JavaBeans (EJB),
Java Message Service (JMS), and J2CA services are started when WebLogic Server is started. The
benefit of excluding some services is reduced memory footprint and reduced startup time. -

Is license required for Oracle 10g client on production
Is license required for Oracle 10g client on production?
Standard disclaimer: We don't represent Oracle. Your situation may be different because of specific wording in your particular Oracle contract, because of differences in licensing regimes over the years, because of laws in your particular country, etc. If you have a serious licensing question, you really need to address it to Oracle Sales. Explaining that some guy on the internet told you it was OK is going to be cold comfort if you're ever audited by Oracle and they disagree with my interpretation...
In general, no, you don't need a separate client license. The database is generally licensed to support a number of named users and/or all the users that a certain hardware configuration can support. Assuming the person using the Oracle client is connecting to a properly licensed database (and that they are one of the named users if that is the licensing regime), you shouldn't need a separate license.
There may be slightly different rules if we're talking about developers connecting to the database because of the "Oracle Programmer" set of licenses that appears on pricing sheets that I've never fully understood.

[email protected]I'm sorry, but Pages won't correctly open the Avery templates with the .doc extension. They open, but all the formatting is lost. Just a blank page.
I tried to chane extension to .template, as suggested by the Pages -Help window. That didn't work either.

Printing issue in Commercial Invoice Report for Oracle Reports Version 6i
Hello All,
I am working on modifying rdf for Commercial Invoice i.e. WSHRDINV.rdf for Oracle Apps Version 11.0.3 to display Customer Part and Customer PO as the seeded report do not print Customer Po and Customer Part in its output. I am done with the modification too but I am getting a minor issue regarding Printing the Customer Po and Customer Part. As per the requirement i need to switch the places of Customer Po and Customer Part. But when I switch its places and when only Customer PO is available against a Order Number, the Customer PO is getting printed in place of Customer Part. I tried changing its properties too. But still getting printed in place of Customer Part.
Here, Customer Part is under different group and Customer PO is under different group. And Customer Part repeating frame comes under Customer PO repeating Frame.
Can anyone please suggest why Customer PO is getting printed in place of Customer Item when only Customer PO is against a Order Number and not Customer Part.
Thank You
Regards,
MeghanaHi Gregor
i am using the Developer 9.0.4 and i too have the same problem. i have seen your posting and made the required changes as required. but here my page sizes differs in my case
i have mainly 3 sizes
1. Width = 8" (77)
Height = 6 " (36)
2. Width = 9" (84)
Height = 8 " (48)
3. Width = 11" (90)
Height = 6 " (36)
i have used the dflt file and created the replica of those with the required sizes. i have no problem as such with the width of the print. But height of the paper size is not taken as required. its by default taking the paper size as width = 9" (80) and height = 12" (72)
Can u let me know how to get the desired output of mine.
