Requirements for using SAP Kernel 7.20_EXT, e.g. with ERP 6.0 EhP 6

Dear community,
we want to bring your attention to the important fact that upcoming SAP product releases and Enhancement Packages, like SAP ERP 6.0 EhP 6 and other members of the BS7i2011 release of SAP Business Suite 7, will use the new 7.20_EXT kernel. As we are using fully supported third party software when building this version of the 7.20 kernel, kernel 7.20_EXT allows us to safely support our customers in the upcoming years. Our updated build environments make SLES 11 Service Pack 1 and RHEL 6 the minimum Linux versions allowing you to run SAP Kernel 7.20_EXT. Please take this prerequisite into account when implementing projects that require or allow you to use SAP Kernel 7.20_EXT.
You can find more information here:
Note 1563102 - Linux Requirements for 7.20_EXT kernel
SAP Product Availability Matrix for SAP NetWeaver 7.0
Or directly access the PAM for SAP NetWeaver 7.0 EhP 3  (page 4).
In case of questions, please feel free to contact us by a mail to linux[at]sap.com as well.
Best Regards,
Alexander Hass.

  • Anybody know whats the system requirement for installing SAP in my home pc.

anybody know whats the system requirement for installing SAP in my home pc. I have p4 processor with 1 GB Ram. I can increase the ram to 2 GB.  Please help

    Hi friend,
Check your RAM , even for 4.7 version you need 1gb ram for better speed, 80gb sap only will occupy, for other storage you need to maintain another hard disk, or add new hard disk with your existing hard disk to make it 120 or 160, if its 6.0 then sap only occupies 6.0, then you need some more space for additional data, you cant browse internet on sap-server (which you installed), for internet and general purposed you need to seperate the hard disk, in case of 6.0 and you want to use both internet and sap you need to have 240-300GB HDD & 2GB ram, inter core2duo processor, 3.15ghz processor etc...and if its 4.7sap and other Operating system you need to have minum 160GB hard disk and 1gb RAM for better speed and access...
clarify if any doubts are there, system performance improves with good RAM memory...
    reward if helps

  • Has anyone found a workaround driver for using a Xerox WorkCentre PE220 Series printer with Mountain Lion?

Has anyone found a workaround driver for using a Xerox WorkCentre PE220 Series printer with Mountain Lion?

    John -
My "Use" menu only contains Apple print drivers.  And Canon drivers, from the location I set this machine up.  None for my home use....which is a Xerox machine.
Not being on the menu, I don't know how to acquire this generic driver.
    Any further helpful hints?
I appreciate your thoughts and help.

  • Typewriter font required for use with Idraw

    Hi
I need to lnondon if there is an app that will let me add a typewriter retro font for use in Idraw..?
The ones avail in idraw are a bit limited.
    Thanks for your help!

You cannot add any fonts to any apps at all. The fonts that are in the app are all that is available to you.
If iDraw has an update that includes the font, that is the only way that you could get it. iDraw would have to include it in the app.

  • Suggestion required for using row level security

We have a scenario to provide row level security to some of the transaction tables like HR_EMPLOYEE which has a foreign key column DEPT_ID to HR_DEPARTMENTS table. This table may grow up to about 5 million records. There could be regular SELECT operations on this table and not so frequent UPDATES compared to the SELECT operation.
We were looking at the following approaches...
    Table :
    HR_EMPLOYEE
         EMPNO
         DEPT_ID
         LAST_NAME
         FIRST_NAME
    1. Enable Oracle Label Security policy on this table and use static predicates.
In this approach we add the OLS policy column (POLICY_COLUMN) and add predicate to access data.
e.g. we will be giving access to global data by predicate like
    OR POLICY_COLUMN =CHAR_TO_LABEL('POLICY_NAME','C::DEPT1')
where C::DEPT is the OLS Label
    2. Using VPD policy. We donot add any column, instead use the existing column DEPT_ID to provide row label security. In this approach the DEPT_ID is to be compared against an additional table and DOMINATES function will be used to verify the permission for the user to access the data.
e.g. In this approach, the policy function is like
    'DOMINATES(char_to_label(''POLICY_NAME'', SA_SESSION.LABEL(''POLICY_NAME''))
    ,char_to_label(''POLICY_NAME'', POLICY_PKG.GET_LABEL_FROM_DEPTID(DEPT_ID))) = 1'
The GET_LABEL_FROM_DEPTID function returns the OLS label for the corresponding department. This is compared with the user's session label and appropriate rows are given access.
Can someone suggest on which of the above approaches is more performance effective considering the number of records and the additional OLS column added to the table.

    Hi there,
would you be able to describe as detailed as possible what you want to achieve? From my first glimpse at your code, it seems as if you are using both OLS and VPD in a rather extraordinary way.
