Requirements to Make a Windows PC Use the iMac?
Hi. There are many that have great graphics, tweakable (mod and such) games on the PC now; until extreme gaming GPU grade thunderbolt external boxes come, If you want to assemble a very powerful Windows 7 64-bit but minimal (no case, no drive, it may just be integrated onto/into the table) PC and use the iMac with it's nice LED LCD as your monitor to max out the games' resolution so you can see the graphics in all its glory while your Apple Wireless Keyboard and mouse (nothing intense, it's more for the graphics) to relax and explore the game after a hard day's work with option to use 3D glasses (the depth/3D will done by the card and software for sure) to make the games even more immersive and thus more relaxing- what hardware and software would you need?

2011 ThunderBolt iMac only accept other ThunderBolt Macs as source.
The Intensity Extreme http://www.blackmagic-design.com/uk/products/intensity/ might be helpful once it is released.
For the 2009 and 2010 27" iMacs there is the Kanex XD http://www.kanexlive.com/xd but it is not compatible with ThunderBolt iMacs as Kanex states in their Product FAQs.
Plus it maxes out with 720p input with the iMacs.

V12 Panorama: Wrong time - Please make it easy to use the Organizer
When performing with V12 my first Panorama Merge, the resulting panorama Merge got the wrong time assigned (in V8, I did not encounter that problem). With V12, the two source jpeg photo files that were merged into the panorama have a timestamp of 4/5/2013 12:59. However the resulting panorama jpeg file has a timestamp of 4/5/2013 10:59. This result in one additional manual operation, that i must perform after completion of the Panorama Merge: I must correct the time.
I am not sure how that time difference of two hours happened. Is it because I am in Switzerland, where we have still the Summer time and are ahead by two hours from Greenwhich Mean Time?
I have a kind request for the next Version of PSE: avoid to make it difficult and painfull to use the PSE Organizer in conjunction with Photomerge Panorama. Today, without technical reason/merit, use of the PSE Organizer in conjunction with Photomerge Panorama is extremely painful and inefficient. For each result of a Panorama Merge, I have to do all of the following and that is very inefficient (especially with large catalogs) and painfull:
I must find within the Organizer bin the result of the Photomerge (to do that, I typically need to switch the Photo Bin into Import Batch sequence...and then later on switch back to a more reasonable sequence)
I must verify and then correct manually the time of the resulting photomerge file
I must determine which tags were assigned to the individual component/source files, navigate within my large Tag structure to find the tags, and then assign manually to the photomerge result the Tags of the source photos
I must deternmine in which Album(s) the individual component/source files were included, navigate within my large Album hierarchical structure to find the Albums and then include manually the photomerge result into the same Album(s) as the source photo. Then I have to move the photomderge result to the right location within Album Sequence.
I must make sure, that the resulting jpeg file is stored in the same folder as the source photos.
All that is a real horror. I am sure, that all opf us (both from Adobe and from the PSE fan community) want to make it easy to use the Organizer.
Ideally, I would like to have (one? or multiple distinct/selective?) sticky options (in the Photomerge dialog pannel? in Preferences? at another location?) that would do all the above automatically for me.
Of course, I understand, that other PSE users will sometimes not like (as I also sometimes do not like) to have the same tags/Albums associations for the resulting photofile as for the compoenent/source files. But It is so much easier to remove selectively one or more Tag/Album association from a photo then to search a large Tag/Album Hierarchy for the correct Tags/Albums and then associate these Tags/Albums with the Photomerge Result.Michel, Thank You for your answer.
Hopefully, Asobe development will make a distinction between:
- "missing functionality" (the alphanumeric sort which wes mising in V11), that requires new/additional code
- and "bugs" that are important (because in this case, the bug results in a Timestamp related dis-organization within the PSE Catalog) and can hopefully be fixed relatively easely.
Since the "date problem" that I had encountered orginally while performing a Panorama Merge is a general problem that is not related to Panorama Merge: for the date problem, I will open another Thread.
To come back to your excellent "suggestion" related to Photomerge Panorama: it is my impression that based on your idea/suggestion, the problem could be relatively easely fixed in V13.
To simplify a little bit: when performing a Panorama Merge, the Editor could record somewhere internally, the Identification (e.g. Filename and Foldername) of the Photos that are used as input for the Merge. And when later on, the PSE user performs a "Save As" or a "Close" of the resulting panorama, the Editor could offer to the user the option to save the Panorama File within a Versionset.
- in the simplest implementation: the Editor would choose without asking any question with which one of the Input Files the result should be saved into a Versionset
- in a little bit more more luxurious implementation: The Editor could ask the PSE user with wich ones of the Input Files the result should be saved into a Versionset
The PSE user, could (if he wish) later on remove the Panorama Merge from the Versionset. That Is easy and fast to do.
Of course, thanks to Michel, I have now an excellent Workaround. Myself do therefore not need an "official" solution in V13. But I nevertheless believe that a lot of other PSE users will not be aware of the suggestion of Michel and will therefore waste a lot of time for a proper "organizazion" of their Photomerge Panorama. It would be great, if PSE would complement the outstanding Photomerge Panorama support of the Editor with a good and simple-to-use/simple-to-understand support of the Panorams within the Organizer -

Could you please clarify your question? Do you mean you need to call some business system from PI via SOAP? Or do you need to test integration model using SOAP client?
If the requirement is to make a SOAP call to PI (send SOAP request to PI system), please refer to the guide which Stefan suggested in his post. The general procedure is the following:
1. generate concrete WSDL in PI (you can do it via PI's Integration Directory);
2. import generated WSDL to SOAP client (e.g. XML Spy described in the guide or soapUI which is free SOAP client);
3. create SOAP request message in the SOAP client and send it to the endpoint (in this case, it will be sent to PI).
This is general procedure for making SOAP calls to SAP PI using external SOAP clients. Please advise if specified steps should be described in more details or if there are any questions from your side regarding them.
If the question is about calling business system from PI via SOAP, then please refer to SAP Help, configuration of SOAP receiver::

Window.open() will open separated windows even using the same window name?
Hi, I have below two test html pages as below(could not find a way to insert a attachment, so paste the content below). The reproduce step is as below: (My environment is Win8.1 with IE11)
1. Open print_test.html page in IE, here we call page1.
2. Click "File -> New Session" menu from IE menu bar, which will open another new IE window which display another " print_test.html" page, here we call page 2.
3. Click "Print" hyper-link in page1, and a popup window which display "print_test_open.html" page, counting begins from 1, here we call it page 3.
4. Click "Print" hyper-link in page2, and another popup window which display "print_test_open.html" page, counting begins from 1, here we call it page 4.
However, the behavior above is totally different on my Win7 (64 bit) with IE 10, which is in step 4, when I click "Print" hyper-link in page2, instead of open a new popup window, the window for page 3 will be reused and counting will restart from

I googled and know from MDN for window.open() and get below information to indicate that in my test pages, I use the same window name, so that the existed window with the same name will be reused is as expected, but however, why IE behave differently in
Win8.1 with IE 11? Why the existed window could not be reused anymore?

The behavior in Win8.1 + IE 11 is similar with what Google Chrome does, and Chrome's explanation is that two separated window using separated processes which do no share information, so that even using the same window name. twp separated windows will
popup.. So I am confused here, IE 10 and IE 11 are both using multi-process mechanism right? I saw from the Windows Task Manager, when using "File -> New Session" to open another print_test.html page in step 2. both IE 10 and IE 11 are opening
4 iexplore.exe processes, two of them are 64 bit, and two of them are 32 bit. I can't see any configuration difference between these two envs, but why the behavior is so different?

Oh, btw, another colleague can reproduce the issue (open separated windows even using the same window name) in his Win7 64 bit with IE 10 env, but could not reproduce in his Win 32 bit with IE 10 env... Hope this information could also do help.

I tried to download latest windows support using the boot camp , but the download stopped beacause of a network proplem , can you help?!
I have the same issues. I keep getting a "network error" even though my connections are fine. I have installed Bootcamp fine on another Macbook, but am having major issues with my brand new one. I have read the support forums where they say to keep trying because the servers are notoriously slow, but this seems a little ridiculous. Hope I can get some help as well.

My macbook froze up. Finger gestures work, but I can't close out of any windows by clicking on the red "X". How do I close out the windows without using the track pad?
Command + W will close a window. Command + Q will quit a program.

Boot Camp Support Software 5.0.5033 supports Windows 8.1 and can be used with that version. The Mid 2011 iMac is compatible with Windows 8, so you should not have any problem by installing Windows 8.

Can I use the iMac to access the webbase MS Office in company's server
My friend gave me an iMac (without keyboard & mouse), I want to use the iMac to replace my old Intel notebook, the problem is I need to know if I can use the iMac to access the windows application (MS Word, Excel) at my company server online, or can the problem be solved if I switch the iMac to windows environment (use the bootcamp?)
When you say can I access the company server, the answer is probably yes. Subject to having the correct password and login.
When you say access the windows application MS Word / Excel then you need to be a bit more precise..
You can't run MS Office for Windows on Mac OSX, you can run MS Office for Mac on Mac OSX, and you can run MS Office for Windows on your Mac if you have a copy of MS Windows, and either use Bootcamp, VMWare or Parallels.

Could You Use the iMac Without the Glass?
Hi. My iMac's Applecare has expired just this March. I was wondering if I could use the iMac without a glass so that things looks sharper, more vibrant colors, significantly less glare, probably will make it operate cooler and no smudge- nothing to clean all the time? I usually am the sole user of the iMac and there's no danger of the LCD being poked by someone.

God bless.I took the polycarbonate panel off my iMac as soon as I received it from a third party reseller I purchased mine from.
The screen is definitely less glossy, sharper, easier on the eyes and my iMac does run cooler.
I didn't like the look of my iMac without the blacked out areas of the polycarbonate screen hiding the look of the aluminum frame and magnets, so I bought one of a these to restore my iMac to looking stock.

Just keep the original polycarbonate panel protected and handy to reinstall if you have to replace it to have your iMac serviced by an Apple Store or an Apple Aurhorized service center. -
My MacBook gets tweaky when I use the iMac as a display... suggestions?
When hooking up my MacBook Pro to my iMac (to use the iMac as a display, via Thunderbolt) it causes my MacBook to be tweaky, slow, taking too long to think, and then keeps Photoshop all the way to the right when I disconnect the iMac... any suggestions? I love using the big screen as a monitor, but need the luxury of the lap top for work (we travel a lot, and I cannot exactly tote around a giant 27' iMac...). I use Photoshop CS5 and I'm usually running it at the same time as Mail and Google Plus, but that's usually it. I have my Time Machine hooked up to back me up in case anything happens, of course, but I want the speed of the laptop even if it's hooked up to the iMac!

Only if it's a 27-inch model. Other Macs require a VNC setup or ScreenRecycler, which will be much slower.
