Requires me to install programs that are already installed

I keep trying to install Google voice but it keeps asking me to install it even days after I installed it. Same with the Netflix Microsoft Silverlight that is needed to play the instant queue. Why does it ask me to install programs that are already installed. I already uninstalled them and reinstalled them but that did not work either. PLEASE HELP!

There's a new version 5.7.1. If you click on install, it will install the new version in lieu of 5.7.

I am in the middle of a GPO review and I am making a few changes to the roaming profile policy on my network. It is currently working but I have come across an issue that I am unsure how to correct. I am trying to hide desktop shortcut
that are not installed on the end users PC while roaming profiles is enabled.
Let me explain further
Let’s say I have two PC but with different program installed (as an example one PC has Adobe Photoshop and one does not) I want the end user to be able to log into both PC and only see desktop shortcuts that match the software which is
installed on that PC but while using a roaming profile. Currently when the user logs into the PC that doesn’t have Adobe Photoshop installed they are presented with a blank desktop icon as the roaming profile has cached this icon from the first PC. Is there
a way to hide program icons that do not exist on another PC while still using roaming profiles.
Any assistance would be most appreciated.

Remove all related shortcuts from the user's desktop dir and recreate
them on the all users desktop dir. These will NOT roam :)

I can't install updates to a program that I already installed on my computer because it says my password is wrong

Hi, I'm a student and had to install a program on my macbook (never used mac before, was given it by the school). This program, Titanium, downloaded and installed just fine. When I turn it on it wants me to update it, so I click install and the computer asks for my System Password. Thinking that this is my login fr the computer I type in my password and it says it's invalid. SO I type it again, invalid. I try another password that I have thinking that it's for Titanium itself, as their website requires a password as well.. Invalid. Can someone help me here??? I need this program for school and I have a big assignment due Saturday and i can't even install something on my own dang computer....

contact your school’s IT support department. Since your school requires that that program be installed on your Mac, they’re the ones who are responsible for its well-being on your Mac.

When I checked for updates to my plug-ins, there were 4 listed as out-of-date that are already installed on my computer. Is there a problem with Firefox recognizing them????

Wondering because I am having problems with not being able to print some stuff from the web or sometimes see media. Plug-ins listed as out-of-date (but that are installed) are Adobe Reader, Quick Time, Java and Flash Player.

If you have problems with updating or with the permissions then easiest is to download the full version and trash the currently installed version to do a clean install of the new version.
Download a new copy of the Firefox program and save the DMG file to the desktop

* Trash the current Firefox application to do a clean (re-)install
* Install the new version that you have downloaded
Your profile data is stored elsewhere in the Firefox Profile Folder, so you won't lose your bookmarks and other personal data.

I need to re install programs that I already purchased.

They were lost when I had to reset my computer that crashed. I need to get these installed asap.

Is it possible to transfer one single App from my iTunes onto my iPad, without losing the Apps that are already installed on my iPad?

I originally had the app (FilmOn.TV) on my iPhone, so it is backed up in my iTunes on my PC. It's no longer available in the App Store and I would really like to have it on my iPad. When I read up on this, it seems to say that if I sync any apps from my iTunes onto my iPad, that any Apps currently on the iPad will be deleted.
Can anyone tell me, please, is it possible to bring one single App across onto my iPad, without losing all of my existing ones.

The first time an iPhone is connected to iTunes that is used to sync with another iPhone or iOS device, you are prompted to transfer the backup for the other iPhone or iOS device or to set up the iPhone as a new iPhone.
The former does as provided - it transfers the backup for the other iPhone or iOS device to the iPhone replacing all data on the iPhone that is included with the backup being transferred. The latter does nothing allowing you to make your various selections for the iPhone sync preferences with iTunes.
This is designed to be done right away with a new iPhone.
If you don't have a backup for the iPhone with iTunes on your computer and don't have an iCloud backup that hasn't been updated since choosing to transfer the backup for your iPod Touch to the iPhone, the data that was on the iPhone is gone.

Ok, this is somewhat of a better work around I've found:
Starting in the Australian iTunes store, I go through the process of signing into the UK iTunes store up until the point it asks for my credit card information.
I then click the 'X' in the top left of iTunes to exit the store.
Now when I click on my Apps Updates button it shows me what UK Apps I have that are available to update.
You can't download these as at this point I've changed the store I'm viewing, but haven't officially switched accounts. Not to worry.
I write down the names of the UK Apps to update.
Then, use the 'search store' field in the top right of iTunes to search for one of the Apps.
Once you've found it, click to buy it / download it.
iTunes recognises that the App is already in your account and downloads it again for free….
… now I'm HOPING that that App is now fully within my Australian account… unfortunately only time will tell once there is a new update for it.
I'll let you know.

Firefox 4 I have programs that are marked enable butalso marked disabled, why

On my Extensions page, I have 5 programs and they are all marked enable on the right side of the page. In the body of the page where the name of the program is, as soon as I enabled 4 of the programs the word disabled appeared in brackets. The 5th program has not been marked disabled because it was a program recommended by Firefox.
On my plugins page I have 12 programs marked enable and every one is also marked disabled in brackets.
I do not understand why this has happened. Must I use only programs that are recommended by Firefox?
To the best of my knowledge I did not have this problem prior to Firefox 4.

Your disabling of Roboform has already caused me more problems and inconvenience than any "improvement" should. I do most of my business on line across many sites using complicated and individual passwords.
Your insistence that it's solely the vendors' problem is quite disingenuous. are you getting as arrogant as Microsoft and Apple? You seem more concerned with your problems than any you caused your supporters. I'm sure your programmers understood what they were doing when these improvements were installed.

Office 2013 - Excel 2013 - "This action is only valid for products that are currently installed."

I had Office 2010 starter and Outlook 2010 installed. I recently purchased the Office 2013 click to run version (paid monthly subscription) and installed Office 2013. After installing 2013 I noticed that when I opened up Excel files they would
still open in Office 2010. I uninstalled Office Starter 2010 and uninstalled Outlook 2010.
I then manually fixed the file associations for Word, PowerPoint, Publisher and such, however I could not manually fix the Excel file association.
Excel documents show the correct icon however when I double click on them the following error appears "This action is only valid for products that are currently installed."
I have used the Office 2013 repair process, I have uninstalled and reinstalled Office 2013, I have manually uninstalled office 2013 using KB 2739501 (

Recently I found that I can not do mail merges either using Excel documents as the data source and I believe the two items are related.
Any suggestions?

Please try to turn off compatibility mode and then check the issue again. To do this, please follow:
1. Open this folder location:
For Windows 32-bit: C:\Program Files\Microsoft Office\Office15
For Windows 64-bit: C:\Program Files (x86)\Microsoft Office\Office15
2. Find Excel.exe, right-click it, and choose Properties.
3. Click on the Compatibility tab and ensure that all of the boxes are
un-checked.

Adobe's Flash player is already on my computer from IE 8. How can I get Firefox to see that it is already on my PC and use it so I don't have to download it again and possibly create other problems. Also, in my efforts to download Flash, Firefox activated IE which made me concerned that proceeding WOULD cause problems our just leave me where I am now where IE can use Flask but Firefox cannot.

Internet Explorer uses a ActiveX version of the Flash player plugin as it does not work with other browsers.

While I can see computer #1 listed under 'shared,' when I click on it the only songs I can see are those that I already have on the 2nd computer. Hopefully that makes sense. Basically, the library from computer #1 isn't loading up.

Depends on many things.
If your system is Lion, XP can only be installed under VM. BootCamp in Lion only accepts Windows 7.
As to "one use only", if you are referring to OEM ...
A reinstall can trigger the OS to "not register" because "a major component serial number or MAC (the network MAC chip) address" has changed, according to MS databases.
But you can call MS to get the key reactivated, usually/sometimes. It is worth a try, at least, before spending money on another Windows 7 package. But this discussion should end *now* at "maybe" as it treads close to matters that forum Terms-of-Use would prefer we not discuss.
