  • Failed installation: How to rerun Adobe Application Manager updates for Photoshop CS6

    Hi.
    The installation of  Adobe Extension Manager CS6 failed - while 2 others update for Photoshop CS6 did intall. I was installing Adobe Reader X .
    That's why I discovered the notication from the application manager about updates for CS6 - and I just confirmed that as well.
    Apparently the Reader installation blocked only the update installation of Adobe Extension Manager CS6 - saying another installation process was running ... such stuff happens sometimes.
    However, it seems Adobes Application Manager update module does not track its failed installations? It does not automatically advertise that update has not been installed and notifiying me again to install it. At least not immediately ...
    So how do I rerun the Adobe Application Manager update moduel to check for updates manually?

    You go Photoshop CS6 > Help > Updates ...

  • Statistic report with figures that will not change when rerun months later

    Hi,
    Is there any good practices that we can follow to create statistic reports with figures that will not change even when rerun after few months later?
    My scenario is my statistic report is generated based on data that is "alive" which means the record will get change after a period of time. So, if you generate the statistic report in for January 2006 in the month of January and regenerate in May for the January 2006 statistic, the figure is different. But what I want is to be able to get the same figures.
    I know in this case looks like we need some sort of summary tables, so posting this to get advice on the best way to design such summary tables. Please comment if there is other ways of doing it.
    Summary tables may work for statistic report, but how to support detail report listing where the records are required to be the same when it was generated few months ago.
    Please advise.
    Thank you.

    What happens, when you execute a report today is the following: a select statement is fired at the data base and the result set is displayed in the report. The data can change after the moment you launched your report. What you could do to keep the result set the same, is implementing a user parameter that fills your date discriminator.

  • Rerun a step in a chain

    i want to rerun a step after it was marked as failed.
    if step 1 failed notify the dba and invoke step 1 again else invoke step 2.
    i wrote the folowing :
    DBMS_SCHEDULER.DEFINE_CHAIN_STEP(
    chain_name => 'reports.some_chain',
    step_name => 'step_1' ,
    program_name => 'do_something1');
    DBMS_SCHEDULER.DEFINE_CHAIN_STEP(
    chain_name => 'reports.some_chain',
    step_name => 'step_2' ,
    program_name => 'do_something_else');
    DBMS_SCHEDULER.DEFINE_CHAIN_STEP(
    chain_name => 'reports.some_chain',
    step_name => 'step_fail' ,
    program_name => 'notify_dba');
    DBMS_SCHEDULER.DEFINE_CHAIN_RULE (
    chain_name => 'reports.some_chain',
    condition => 'step_1 SUCCEEDED',
    action => 'START step_2',
    rule_name => 'step_1_success'
    DBMS_SCHEDULER.DEFINE_CHAIN_RULE (
    chain_name => 'reports.some_chain',
    condition => 'step_2 SUCCEEDED',
    action => 'END',
    rule_name => 'step_2_success'
    DBMS_SCHEDULER.DEFINE_CHAIN_RULE (
    chain_name => 'reports.some_chain',
    condition => 'step_1 FAILED',
    action => 'START step_fail',
    rule_name => 'step_1_failed'
    DBMS_SCHEDULER.DEFINE_CHAIN_RULE (
    chain_name => 'reports.some_chain',
    condition => 'step_fail COMPLETED',
    action => 'START step_1',
    rule_name => 'step_retry_step_1'
    this works fine if step 1 ends successfuly. when step 1 failes and "step_fail" is triggered, step 1 is not being executed again. i cant understand why.
    i would also like to know how to use the syntax for 'AFTER X SECONDS START step'.
    thanks !

    Hi,
    The reason this doesn't work is that once step1 has is in a completed state the rules will not let it run again.
    There is a way to get around this though. In your step_fail program you can set step1 to be not_started yet or you can set step1 to start immediately by directly modifying the running chain e.g.
    exec dbms_scheduler.alter_running_chain('chainjob1','step1', 'state', 'RUNNING')
    or
    exec dbms_scheduler.alter_running_chain('chainjob1','step1', 'state', 'NOT_STARTED')
    both of these will run step1 again.
    Your notify_dba program can be modified to take the step_name as one of the arguments (define_metadata_argument job subname) so it will know which step failed.
    Hope this helps,
    Ravi.

  • Distinguishing First Run and Rerun for DVR Recording

    If you want to record a series, not just a single show, the only choice you have is to record BOTH First-Run episodes AND Reruns.  I note that Direct TV users and TiVo users have a choice when recording a series by selecting First Run Only or First Run and Repeats.  Without this discriminate, shows that repeat habitually throughout the day and week are recorded.  This is a major inconvenience if your recording are almost exclusively series TV shows.  It becomes very inconvenient for series broadcast on HBO, where throught the week multiple series and reruns--for example Boardwalk Empire--are all playing in a single week.  The lack of this feature--that other services already have--is a major shortcoming.

    Something odd there.  Which DVR model?
    Should be press DVR button scrool to manage series recordings, press right, scroll to show, press ok,  (options including change priority, modify series and cancel series.  Modify Series. press ok.  Options on that include episodes (first run only/first run and repeats). Scroll to episodes, press enter, change as desired, press ok, push right to save, press ok. close menus, may have to do repeated exits.
    You may also want to find the dvr settings to set your default options for creating series recordings.  menu/settings/system/dvr/default series options

  • OK to Rerun FAGLF101 for the Same Period?

    We run FAGLF101 every month in order to account for reconcilation account and trading partner changes.  My actual situation is a bit more complicated, but let's say that I just discovered a large number of customers with incorrect recon accounts that were first used in November.  If we correct them now and rerun FAGLF101 for November, will it duplicate the entries made on the previous run or only make postings for the new customer changes?  Grateful for any advice.
    P.S.  We do not have a handle on the exact customers that have changed so running for just the changed customers is not practical as we have numerous companies and it would take a huge amount of effort to identify a list for each company.

  • Rerun Web Service Task whenever it fails

    Hi All,
    In one of my package i m using web service task and it is failing everytime. Below is the error:
    An error occurred with the following error message: "Microsoft.SqlServer.Dts.Tasks.WebServiceTask.WebserviceTaskException: The Web Service threw an error during method execution. The error is: The operation has timed out.

       at Microsoft.SqlServer.Dts.Tasks.WebServiceTask.WebServiceTask.executeThread()".
    I referred the below blog and tried to implement it in my project.
    http://microsoft-ssis.blogspot.com/2014/06/retry-task-on-failure.html
    In For Loop Container, when i am using the below expression , the container is running but web service task is not running.
    EvalExpression - @RetryCounter<=@RetryMax && @QuitForLoop==false
    but when i change the expression to
    @RetryCounter<5, the web service task is also running.
    where i am going wrong. are we not supposed to use expression like @RetryCounter<=@RetryMax && @QuitForLoop==false in For Loop Container.

    Read the comments below, you need to reset the QuitForLoop, perhaps this is the issue.
    I would approach the issue with Checkpoints, and restart on failure as in

  • Report rerunning

    Hi everyone,
    I have a problem with generating the delimited output. It runs the report again and it takes a lot of time. Does anyone know how to generate to a delimited file without rerunning the report again
    null

    Make sure you're using the latest SP:
    https://smpdl.sap-ag.de/~sapidp/012002523100009038092009E/cr2008win_sp2.exe
    Consider adding latest FP also:
    https://smpdl.sap-ag.de/~sapidp/012002523100001024152010E/cr2008_fp24.zip
    Make sure you are disposing of the report object once you are done with it and before you re-run it with new parameters (.close, .dispose).
    Test without the combo box. Let the report prompt. Can you reproduce the behavior now? If not, try to supply the parameter values via a text box. Can you reproduce the issue now? E.g.; is it the combo box that is the issue, or the report?

  • What's the best way to give a user the option of stopping a vi or rerunning it? I wrote something that works but I imagine it's not the best way to do it.

    I have a VI that runs a stepper motor then stops. I wanted the operator to have the option of rerunning the VI or stopping it completely. To do this I added a while loop around the entire VI.I have an example VI showing how I accomplished this, but I'm sure there's a more efficient approach. Any suggestions?
    Thank you.

    There is almost never a good reason to use the Stop Sign Abort Execution function.
    Your while loop is fine.  What you really want to do is make a state machine that has at least 2 states. 1.  Running the test.  2. Idle, waiting for the user to hit a run button again, or hitting an End program button.

  • Script to Rerun Successful Advertisement on Multiple Systems

    Hi Guys,
    I need to rerun a particular advertisement for a package on multiple computers. I Am able to run it on a single system via the right click tools but how do it do it for multiple systems.
    Is there a script for this which could be provided ?
    Many Thanks

    If you right click on the deployment in the monitoring node and select rerun deployment you will get something like the below from the right click tools by Now Micro
    You can then select the group you want and hit Start.
    Another option would be to set the deployment properties to Always run the program, but this would make all devices always rerun the deployment.
    If you wanted to be able to select specific devices then you will probably need to script yourself something unless someone has already done it.
    You could start by looking at Deployment - Rerun Deployment.ps1 that's installed by the right click tools.

    Hi,
    The first error happened is
    ORA-12516, TNS:listener could not find available handler with matching protocol stack...
    The above is due to the listener been disconnected while the LP is executing. This can be solved by restarting the load.
    The second error happened is
    ORA-20000: Error creating Index/Constraint : W_FLEX_SQL_G_U1 => ORA-01452: cannot CREATE UNIQUE INDEX; duplicate keys found
    The above is due to the duplicate records found in the table w_flex_sql_g. You can solve this by deleting the duplicated records in that table like referred in the below link

  • Rman to handle table restore for batch rerun

    Hi all,
    11.2.0.1
    Our batch process sometimes need to be rerun or reprocess due to erroneous process/output.
    For the rerun process, we need to import back 1 table affected, from the last night backup.
    Is RMAN capable of restoring a single table on the PROD database without affecting other tables?
    Or this can be done only thru expdp, and that is why we need also to backup this table daily using this tool?
    Thanks a lot,
    zxy

    yxes2013 wrote:
    So I am justified that I have to use expdp as a means of backing-up single table? Contrary to what they say that expdp can not be used as backup tool?
    Thanks,
    As Fran and many, many, many others have pointed out on many, many, many other threads, export cannot be considered a backup of the database because it cannot be used to restore a database.  You must have a live, healthy, functioning database up and running in order to have something in which to import.
    That does not mean that export has not place in a normal backup regimen. Most DBA's will include a periodic export along with their regular rman backups.  For exactly the type of scenario you describe.  So if you know going in that a batch job may need to be rolled back, it is perfectly justifiable to begin that batch job with an expdp step to export the tables that are involved.  On the other hand, if there is no other processing occurring between the time this batch job starts and the time you discover you need to 'reset' and run it again, a database PIT recovery from rman backup, or a database flashback might be a preferable solution.
    As in all things, the answer is 'it depends' and only your organization can decide ...

  • How to rerun P45  once the live run happend and XML files generated

    Hi All,
    I have run the P45s live run and upon clicking on the B2A manager button, it has taken me to the efiling screen but the efiling has ended up with connection error with the Government Gateway due to the expiry of certificate
    We have now installed a new certificate and while trying to submit the P45s we have an issue.
    I have reset the IT65 to original status by deleting the OT record that was created and the deletion of Leaver date.
    It allows me to run the P45s but the B2A manager button does not appear.
    How do i proceed with efiling.  Please advise.
    Many Thanks in advance
    Veena

    Hi Veena,
    An earlier post by you regarding P45 is as below
    Starter report P45(3) / P46 efiling for UK
    from my understanding though i have not worked on GB Payroll you have said that you deleted IT 65 details of leaver,however there must be clusters generated in system from where the earlier data needs to be deleted and may be that is why you are facing the issue.
    In Indian payroll when we execute text file for efiling of tax after challan mapping all the data compiles and sits in PCL cluster and therefore we are unable to generate form 16 with proper output,here we delete the clusters and rerun again the mappings and then check form 16.
    Hope this might help you,Experts have suggested you earlier also,they may correct me for this.

  • Rerun tts import with ASM

    I am doing a data migration from one platform to another (itanium, shared file system to linux ASM). I went through the process to import all datafiles into ASM with Rman, and I was ready to import the metadata.
    I messed up, and forgot to create the system trigger setting the proper date format for some default column values.. My import worked but many of the objects failed creation. Now I have a database with the tablespaces imported, but I want to rerun my import. If I drop the tablespaces including contents (to remove the metadata), I will lose my datafiles and I will have to start over.
    1) is there anyway to drop a tablespace without dropping the datafiles so I can rerun ??
    2) is there anyway to rerun a transportable tablespace import once it has a partial success ??
    3) what is my best option.
    At this point, I am probably going to shutdown the database, and remove the non-imported tablespaces (system, undo, etc), recreate the database, then rerun the import with the new "shell" leaving the TTS datafiles I already copied over intact.. This is time consuming, and I am hoping to find a better solution
    Any ideas would be appreciated.

    1. Straight from the documentation ([DROP TABLESPACE|http://download.oracle.com/docs/cd/B14117_01/server.101/b10759/statements_9004.htm|DROP TABLESPACE]):
    Oracle Database removes from the data dictionary all metadata about the
    tablespace and all datafiles and tempfiles in the tablespace. The
    database also automatically drops from the operating system any
    Oracle-managed datafiles and tempfiles in the tablespace. Other
    datafiles and tempfiles are not removed from the operating system
    unless you specify INCLUDING CONTENTS AND DATAFILES.
