If that web site can't find the add-on it says is needed, they need to fix that problem with their servers.

5 Steps to Take Before Applying for a Job

Domain Users To be Given IPads thats will File Sync to a Windows Server in the Company DMZ. Are CALS needed for the ipads ?

We are thinking on giving some Sales Staff some IPADs to use. All these staff currently have USER CALS.
We are going to be using some software called MobileEcho to allow for browsing and File Syncing from a Windows Server in a DMZ. This Server itself maybe doing some LDAP queries to the LAN. Also some users maybe putting new content onto this Server
from the LAN. Are any seperate Device CALS needed for this Server ?

if the user is assigned a User CAL, no device CAL is needed.
That's the main reason why you would buy User CALs, where there is more than 1 device for each user (or more devices than users, in general)

Oracle SQL/ Excel Visual Basic Consulting Opportunity in New York City

Is anyone interested in a consulting opportunity?
I am marketing director for a catalog/internet business in Manhattan. I am running Oracle 9.2i . We use the datawarehouse for many marketing/merchandising reports. I have SQL code embedded in Excel workbooks using an ODBC interface. The SQL code gets the data and then I have a lot of Visual Basic macros that run and create the reports.
I need someone to come in and help me optimize the queries and macros (since I am self-taught on both SQL and VB there is LOTS of room for improvement).
Since some of the reports are popular, I am getting overwhelmed with requests for new reports and it is taking time away from my marketing responsibilities.

Discoverer and potential need for IDS

I am reviewing 10g Application Server Enterprise Edition, as I've a need for Oracle Reports and Portal to distribute the reports company wide. In the search I became aware that Discoverer was also included with this bundle. And the features are quite an upgrade to those available with Reports.
So here is the question, I've been informed that in order to utalize Discoverer one also needs the features available within the Internet Developer Suite else Discoverer is not usable.
So I went off to research, just what it is that IDS provides that Discoverer "needs". But thought I would post here and ask the community for a summary of why IDS is needed, while I read the white papers.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Discoverer Administrator is used for the initial setup and ongoing maintenance of the End User Layer. Users of Discoverer Administrator are called Discoverer managers. The Discoverer manager performs a variety of tasks including creation and maintenance of business areas, folders, summary table creation, and managing end user access. Discoverer provides extensive defaulting capability to enable managers to rapidly implement their end user environment. Discoverer Administrator is a required component of a complete Discoverer installation and is a component of Oracle Developer Suite
So in order to use Discoverer, which is included within 10g AS Enterprise Edition one also needs a seperate liscence for Oracle Developer Suite.

2. Though automatic postings are not regular, check the required details for configuration for APP. If you are going for APP, u need to check house bank also
3. Check the tax procedures (Varies between countries) - Sales Tax and Withholding tax config

5. Discount received / paid configurations
6. Dunning details - Check if existing standard SAPscripts will suffice ur needs. Else u may need the help of ABAPers

My company is planning on migrating a Forms 3.0 application to
WebForms (we need to support both Win95/98 PCs and Macintoshes).
I understand the basic 3-tier structure (i.e. database server,
application server and browser based client), but I'm still
unsure of what hardware and software is actually needed for the
application server (especially since Oracle keeps changing the
names of their products). Can anyone tell me what the hardware
and software requirements are for a WebForms (w/reports)
application server assuming that I don't have anything yet (NT
or Unix)? Also, what are the general memory/disk requirements if
the server needs to support about 100 concurrent connections?

there is an Oracle marketing slogan about the Norwegian tax
ministery (or so) running with about 5000 users concurrently.
But they are only dealing with the number not further details.
I'm just pushing a customer with a +- 100 form app to the web
and they want ot go production in mid February. They (especially
their admins) are very open to the technology and there are only
some issues on prinitng from forms using customs documents,
invoices and delivery notes. But I think after some changing of
the print philosphy it will be working.

Can any expert please suggest whether do we need to enter only paying company codes while defining the payment methods per company code or enter all company codes.
Ex: We have 10 company codes for which there are 3 paying company codes. After defining the payment methods in the country, while defining payment methods per company code do we need to define for only 3 paying company codes or for all 10 company codes. Because when you are paying through one company code on behalf of three company codes, how does it make sense having the payment method in company codes which are not paying. I hope my query is sensible.

Generally Payment method is defined for a customer at Company code level and Sales area level. Through Partner function we can control who has to make payment. In your case , if you need to define different customer as payer you can do so in KNVP table. while making sales order payment terms will pick from Payer of the Sold to patry customer.

You should define the payment method in all the 10 company codes regarding they are the paying or non paying company code.
If you are not defining them they you will not have the option to select the payment for that particular company code.

Mac OS X 10.6.8 disc needed for bootcamp?

I am currently running OS X10.6.8 and would like to install windows XP via boot camp. The installation instructions require the Mac OS X installation disc. I only have the disc from Mac OS X 10.4.8. Will this suffice or will I need the more recent install disc?

What happens when you highlight or select text and control + click on the same?
You should be able to copy to clipboard; search and look up phrase in Google, Bing, Wikipedia.

But there is little need to actually ask, we all learned to use a dictionary growing up to look up words in books we needed to understand,, and encyclopedia for more in-depth.

If you want to know what a virtual machine is and how a VM works as a guest OS under OS X, fine.
Of course download the softwae, read the pdf guide, follow the instructions.
You can find write ups on how to use VirtualBox (to install Windows 7 or 8) on a Mac, even.
Probably even pull up a youtube video.
10.6 is only needed for Windows 7 support.
10.6.6+ was suppose to allow download of Boot Camp support software too (test phase for Lion) but DL Boot Camp Drivers 600MB is often hours long slow,, broken, poorly implemented and a true PITA to use - should take 8 minutes and be done.
XP is fraught iwth EOL security issues, and no more patches for all the bugs and issues that exist hence a poor product choice, and will not support Macs built in the last two years.

for eg: I need to find the revenue, expense and GP of a comapany code 'ZYZM' for the month of july. Is there
any standard report for this or any way to see P&L statement for this period?

You can use report S_PL0_86000030 - G/L Account Balances (New) for the period wise report.
You can select as Mani mention P&L account statement type as X in dynamic selection and give the period for which you require the balance.
The report will give you the three balances

Till previous period
for the period

What do I need for Garage Band?

I'm sorry if it's been asked before but will someone tell me what is needed to record music from a guitar. What chord do I need for the guitar to the computer or external device? I also would like to know what kind of microphone I need. It's actually for my husband. Your advice would be greatly appreciate. I'm new to the Mac and researching has become tedious for me.

Is this an electric guitar or an acoustic guitar? Or both?
If there is an acoustic, does it have a pickup already?
Is the mic for vocals or guitar? Or both?
Does he need to mic an amp for an electric guitar or does he need to mic an acoustic guitar or both and vocals?
Is this a gift?
What kind of guitarist/musician is he? In other words what kind of guitars and or amps does he have?
Tube amps? Fender, Marshall? etc. Does he use pedals? etc.
Depending on the use, budget and type of musician, there are many options on what to suggest.
A mic to use on an amp, versus a mic for vocals, versus a mic to record acoustic, versus a mic to handle as many duties as possible, all will yield different suggestions.
Let alone the type of music he play's and budget involved.
If it's a gift and he is a serious guitarist with some serious gear then he may be very unhappy going straight into the Mac with an adaptor.
And it's definitely not a good way to do it either for several reasons.
Maybe a USB mic is all he would need or maybe he won't be happy with anything but a Royer 121.
No way of knowing.
The more info you can provide the more germane the suggestions will be for you and hopefully less tedious.
