Resend --how do download video from a Panasonic GS500 camcorder?

This is a resend, I put in the wrong model camcorder the first time. I have a Panasonic GS500 miniDVcamcorder and haven't been able to figure out how to download to imovie. I'm using a firewire. Any suggestions? I'm new at this and very confused at the moment, even after reading the support topics.

Forest, I tried your suggestions, but still no luck downloading. iMovie searches for the camera, but can't find it. I'm getting concerned that the GS500 is not compatible with Macs. Any other ideas?
Hi Jek
1. Camera turned off - connect firewire to Mac and
camera.
2. Open iMovie and create a name for your clips.
3. Be sure cam is set on playback -NOT PC mode
4. Turn on cam. At this point your Mac should
recognize your cam and will
show in the iMovie screen as "ready to capture",
or words to that effect.
. Use the on screen controls to start the capture
process. The computer will
control the camera.
ur Mac captures the video in real time, meaning that
if your total clips are 45 minutes of tape, it will
take 45 minutes to capture to your Mac. Hope that
helps you. Nice cam, by the way. Lucky are those of
us that got one before Panasonic discontinued it and
dummied down their consumer line of miniDV cams.

  • I'm having trouble downloading video from my Panasonic HDC/TM900

I'm having trouble downloading video from my Panasonic HDC/TM900. It seems it is designed to work with PC's.
    Can anyone help with this?

If you have not done so already, I recommend updating Final Cut Pro X to 10.0.5.
And if that doesn't work, download the following applicaton (FREE) and use it to convert your footage to Apple ProRes, or another compatible video coded/format...
    Free MTS M2TS Converter

Also, I recommend installing the PERIAN QuickTime extension (FREE) on your computer...

  • How do I upload my videos from my panasonic HDD camcorder onto my macbook air?

I am trying to upload videos from my panasonic HDD camcorder onto my macbook air. While it sees the photos that were taken on the camcorder, it does not seem to see the videos as when I select the import function it does not show anything listed under the camcorder when it is plugged into the macbook via usb. Thoughts? Do I need to convert the footage to something imovie can work with? If so, what program do I use and how do I do that. thanks so much. m

You can move videos or photos taken with iPad by connecting your iPad camera to Dropbox.
    Or
You can upload individual photos or video by selecting "open in"  and selecting Dropbox.   Save to Dropbox

  • How to download videos from You Tube?

Does anyone know of a tool to download videos from You Tube, to import into iMovie, that actually works? I installed Get Tube, which could not even be activated. vixy.net (an online FLV converter) worked for two video clips but 80% of the time it gets hung up in an infinite loop and does not work. Tube Sock (perhaps better for iPod?) generates a file that iMovie does not recognize—message is "Unknown error" when trying to import it into iMovie. I installed Perian software successfully; it is supposed to make .FLV files from You Tube playable with Quicktime but when I tried to actually play the converted file it was rejected with the message, "This is not a movie." Is there anything out there, freeware or not, that actually works consistently?

Hi ceeg - remember that you do have to add the .flv extension to the file, and then after it plays in QT, in order to use it in iMovie you must export it from QT as a DV Stream file.
    Hope this helps.

  • How do I view videos from my Panasonic SD40 camcorder that use the bmg format?

I just bought a Panasonic SD40 camcorder but my IMAC will not read the SD card. I believe that the Panasonic is using the bmg format.
    Any suggestions?

According to iMovie '11 Supported Cameras  your camera is supported by iTunes 11. I would recommend using the iMovie Tutorials.

  • How do I download video from my Panasonic SDR H85 to my Macbook Pro running 10.8.3?

I connect the camera to my macbook pro and iphoto recognizes and downloads a snapshot but only says downloding video. It does not progress past that point. Am I missing something? It shouldnt be this tricky!!

You may have to use two adapters.
    http://store.apple.com/us/product/MD824ZM/A/lightning-to-30-pin-adapter-02-m?fno de=3a
    and
    http://store.apple.com/us/product/MC748ZM/A/apple-composite-av-cable?fnode=3a
Not entirely sure if it would work. Go to an Apple store and purchase the products. If they don't work you can bring them back within 30 days and get your money back. Basically you are converting Lightning to 30 PIN, then 30 PIN to composite video.

  • How to Download Video from Dropbox App?

Since Apple discontinued iDisk, I have been using Dropbox. However, how can I download a movie shared in Dropbox via the app, web app, or full website?
I see that I can download a photo into Photos, but for some reason it does not allow movies to be downloaded into Photos (where a native movie shot on the iPad would otherwise be stored).
If this is a limitation of DropBox in general, is there a file sharing app for the iPad that retains essentially the same functionality as iDisk and would allow me to download a video file onto the iPad for offline viewing?

The only way to transfer it to the Camera Roll is to email it to yourself and save it.The Camera Roll only includes items taken by or saved to the iPod.
There are many apps. However. how to yo want to share it? Many videos are too large to email. An app like DropBox should work.

  • How  can  ı  downloade  video  from  utube

can  someone  help  me  find   free  video  downlader   from  utube  for  mac  air   mountain  lion?

youtube is changing its coding on a weekly basis, meaning popular videos cant be downloaded with any of the current addons, other than home-brew videos of low importance.
Its against google and youtubes policy to download their videos as outlined on their TOS page.
To combat all the video downloading, youtube is changing its coding script on a weekly basis to BLOCK popular video downloads from all the download addons and software.
