"Resend" word at message subject when using GMail

When I send a message through Mail using the GMail server, the message is stored in the sent folder with the word "resend" in the subject. Why does this happen? Was the message sent or not?

I'm not computer-literate enough to answer your question, but I can confirm that the solution that was recommended to me has indeed worked, and I have had no problem with these pop-ups for the last week. - Chris.

I can't remember the steps, but if i'm not wrong, there are many "next" to click, and at the last windows, there is one dialog box with "do not show this message again".Maybe something to do with the registry, to enable to view this dialog box again. Date: Thu, 2 Feb 2012 06:38:24 -0700

Line breaks in emails when using Gmail

*The problem arises because the iPhone uses "Plain Text" to send emails.*

I am having the same problem with an IMAP/SMTP account. It was a GMail account, I switched it to using the GMail auto setup and haven't had any issues.
But under the standard IMAP/SMTP setting almost 1/3 of all messages were showing no content.
Though I don't recall exactly - I think most of them were sent while I was on 3G, and it otherwise works fine on WiFi.

Might be a third party plugin or extension causing this ...
From your Safari menu bar click Safari > Preferences then select the Security tab.
Deselect: Allow all other plug-ins. Quit and relaunch Safari to test.
If that made a difference, instructions for troubleshooting plugins here.
If it's not a plug-in issue, select the Extensions tab. If there are any extensions installed, turn that OFF, quit and relaunch Safari to test. If that made a difference, uninstall one at a time, quit and relaunch Safari to test until you find the culprit.

No Content in Emails when using Gmail

When sending email it shows no content even though I typed info in the email. It also gives a smtp error, but then when you close out the mail program it sends the email. I am using gmail. I checked all of the settings and they are the same as my Iphone and it sends emails fine.

Date function doesn't work in Message Subject when scheduling batch

When I was scheduling a batch and went to PDF attached E-Mail panel, in the Message Subject line I added a function <<Date(yyyy-MM-dd)>>,but when the email was sent, the date function in the subject didn't show the actual date, just showed the original function text <<Date(yyyy-MM-dd)>>, Is there anyone can help on this? Calendar not showing multiple days when using Gmail option

Since I installed Mountain Lion the calendar when using the Gmail option does not show the bar (highlight ) when using multiple days. The detail transfer to My I pad perfectly and the Apple work & home are also working. If I click on the first day of an event then it is highlighted.

Preview glitch when searching for words on page and when using text tools to write comments/notes on .pdf slides, why?

When using Preview to access my class notes as .pdf files, I have encountered extremely frustrating glitches when trying to search for specific words or phrases within the .pdf files and when trying to use 'text tools' to write notes on the .pdf slides. Preview did not behave in this manor with Mountain Lion OS. This seems to correlate with my recent upgrade to Mavericks OS.
When using the search function you should be able to type in any number of letters or words and press enter to continually cycle through the highlighted findings that match what you have typed in. Instead it now, typically, stops tracking what I type in after about 3-4 letters and the yellow highlight turns grey. Once it does this if you try to press enter to cycle through what it has found it no longer cycles. It never did this in Mountain Lion using the very same .pdf files I had previously used in the old OS, and it does this despite there being multiple matches for what I am searching.
When clicking 'show edit tool bar' button and then 'text tools' button to be able to free text notes on the .pdf file I have to exit out of the 'text tools' mode to be able to advance to the next page. This is extremely inconveneint and, again, Preview did not do this in Mountain Lion.
These are my two major complaints about Preview that I have discovered so far in my short time using it with the new Mavericks OS.
Any help would be very much appreciated.

I've tried using Wondershare PDF Editor as well and wondered that had messed some settings up. Have either of you used that?
If so, how would I revert to a clean version of Preview?

Setting a different "reply to" when using gmail via exchange on the iPhone?

I have been using gmail via IMAP for quite a while on my iPhone, but decided to switch to gmail via exchange. It's really great - instead of polling for emails, they are pushed to the phone - this means a saving on data costs as it's not polling every 15 mins!
The only problem I am having is that I currently have my own domain name, so my "reply email address" is different to my gmail one.
When using IMAP, there was the option to set a return address. Under Exchange, the first field is "email" - I thought this might be the return address (as it doesn't seem to have anything to do with my gmail account details) but when I send an email from it, the return address is just my standard gmail one...
Does anyone know a solution to this?!

How to incorporate Win-zip Courier into Firefox when using Gmail?

I use Gmail. When I use Firefox to open my Gmail, I could not use Win-zip Courier to encrypt my attachment.
However, I can do so if I use Google Chrome to do the email attachment.
Is there any step I missed when installing the programs?

Retrieving messages - FIFO when using Correlation ID

Hi,
I've implemented a dbms_pipe clone using AQ (we're using RAC which doesn't support dbms_pipe - long story). Basically I've simulated dbms_pipe message queues by using CorrelationID's.
Unfortunately, it seems that when retrieving a message by CorrelationID, the order is undetermined. It is critical in my scenario that messages are dequeued in the order they were enqueued.
Does anyone have a trick or suggestion to solve my dilemma.

Thanks for the reply. I should have explained myself a bit better. We had a number of existing apps that were developed using dbms_pipe. When we migrated to 11g RAC, of course everything broke.
So I built a package that provides an identical interface to dbms_pipe but uses dbms_aq under the covers (which is RAC-friendly).
I need to use the CorrelationID because I am implementing multiple 'logical' queues (similar to the dbms_pipe functionality) inside a single AQ queue. Messages are tagged with a CorrelationID which represents the logical queue.
If there are multiple messages for a logical queue, calling the dequeue method with a CorrelationID (logical queue) does not necessarily retrieve the messages in FIFO order. On re-reading the documentation I see this is the expected (but in my case undesirable) behaviour.
I hope this explains my dilemma a bit better :-).

I have problems typing certain characters when using gmail or online forums. Can someone help?

When I try to use an apostrophe, when using online forums or my email (all in safari), a white bar appears at the bottom of the screen displaying the punctuation mark but it will not allow me to use it. Any idea how I can fix this?

Have you tried resetting your iPad?
Reset: Press the Home and On/Off buttons at the same time and hold them until the Apple logo appears (about 10 seconds).
No data will be lost.

Multiple notes when using gmail??!

I tried using gmail IMAP with mail and whnever I tried to edit a note a new one is created so I have a million notes why??

...so look in the Event editor (just hit E ) and see if the doubled notes are on the same or on different midi channels. If the doubles are duplicates (same length, same velocity, same channel) then you have a MIDI loop and need to set your keyboard to local off, as pointed out.
To get rid of the duplicates you already have, select all notes (⌘-A) in the editor and hit D .

Spinning circle * Thunderbird is not responding when I try to write or access emails. I had attempted to delete a bunch of old txt messages in seldom used Gmail

I saw I had almost 30,000 txt messages on a Gmail account that I had created a gmail account for on Thunderbird. I didn't realize that they were going here from Gmail. I highlighted all of them and attempted to delete them. The spinning circle finally went away and all of them were gone. But when I tried to do anything else on Thunderbird with my regular email accounts (Comcast & Hotmail), I would get a spinning circle and Thunderbird is not responding. I had to use Ctrl Alt Del and then reopen. I tried compacting but this morning when I tried to write an email from one of my Comcast emails in Thunderbird, again I got the spinning circle and Thunderbird is not responding. In order to do anything, I have to close the program by hitting Crrl Alt Del and try again.
My Trash Local folders says 8300.
This morning, when I tried accessing Thunderbird at the bottom of the taskbar it said, "downloading....of 17,000 to All Mail. Had no clue what that meant. I let it continue until all were and thought my issue would be resolved. But no. :(
Something obviously got corrupted in the program. What do I need to do to fix this?

How to archive messages in Mail when using Gmail?

I'm quite happy with the new look they've given Mail in OSX Lion and I was thrilled to see the Archive button, as I'm a Gmail user. But, as you might now, that Archive button does not move messages to "All Mail" as Gmail would. Instead it creates a new IMAP folder, which is then created in your Gmail account which is not what we are after. On my iPhone, moving the message to the "All Mail" folder does the trick, however I just tried that in Lion's Mail and it seems to work (from a Mail perspective) but once I go into Gmail (web) the messages are still there in the inbox. I guess that Gmail does not move them as the messages are already in the All Mail folder. I know it is not (at the moment) possible to modify how the "Archive" button works, but does anyone know if I can at least move the messages into the "All Mail" folder? I was doing it in Snow Leopard and it worked just fine.

Make sure you have Auto-Expunge turned on in your GMail settings under 'Forwarding and POP/IMAP'. I had the same issue, and turning this on did the trick.
