Reservations through WM

Hi Guys
We are going to manage the Engineering stores with WM and we will be mainly issuing stock against reservations
We have designed a process where from the requirements in the reservations we will create an STO and then a Outbound Delivery to get the requirements in to WM so that we can pick and deliver etc
Does anybody know if you can create a STO with reference to a Reservation?
We plan to create a new front end screen for looking at reservations and subsequently creating STO/Delivery but to maintain the link we would like to reference the reservation in the STO
We will populate the 'requirement number' in the STO with the reservation number but this will not maintain a 'link'

Hi Frenchy
With standard SAP there is no such provision that STO can be created through reservation.
But you can work with customised program to determine Vendor/supplying plnat , recieving plant , quantity , Material etc as all these information is maintained in Reservation. You can also think of msg output which will create STO (may be through an Idoc)

Issue in reservation through MO

hi experts,
i am facing issue in reservation through maintenance order.
i want that reservation is created after release of maintenance order.is it possible through SPRO or i have to use some user exit.

Follow configuration path
IMG - PM & CS - Maintenance & Service Processing - Maintenance & Service Orders - Functions & Settings - Define Change documents, Collective Purchase Requisition
In Res/PurRq. column, make option as From Release. Reservations / PRs will be generated only after PM order release.

Order Management - Reservations through Inv Item Reservation

A Basic Question. We want to Link a Sales Order with Purchase Order through Inventory --> On Hand Availability --> Reservations Form.
1. What is the flow for this? Whether SO needs to be created first or PO needs to be created first?
2. Where can we see the Reservations?
3. If On hand quantity is already available still can we reserve against a PO?
4. In What scenarios the reservations will not happen?

Creating internal requisition may create Sale order. Sales order lines may create PO depending upon the Item availability & item type.
2. Where can we see the Reservations?
In Order form line level -Tools - > Scheduling -> Reservation Details
3. If On hand quantity is already available still can we reserve against a PO?
If on hand quantity available, PO will not be created. We do not have control over mapping a PO to OM line.
4. In What scenarios the reservations will not happen?
There are many cases like, if item is not reservable, quantity not available.

Network Reservation through MB21

Hi Experts,
Why can't we create a reservation for a network through MB21? I need a logical answer. Is it SAP std. functionality?

Reservation:
It is Request to the warehouse or stores to keep a material ready for issue at a future date for a certain purpose.
The purpose of a reservation is to ensure that a material is available when required.
A material can be reserved for a cost center, an asset, or an order for example.

Reservation through MB21 to foresee a reservation to an order

Hello,
I would like to reserve a stock (for a project or a customer) through MB21 for a customer.
Then, when a sales order is created in the system, I want to use the stocks previously reserved.
How can I make it works ?
First Clue :
- I created a MB21 with the mouvement type 251 Issue for sales
- Then I created a sales order for my customers
Then I tried to do a MB1B to transfer the stock from the reservation to the sales order but without success !
What are the steps to be performed to fill my requirements ?

If the stock is a kind of buffer stock... then alternate way to map the process>
1>Create a additional   storage location for buffer stock.
2>& exclude the buffer storage location in MRP-4 view ( select , indicatior-2)
     Then these stock will not included in MRP run.
3>When there is a requirement move the stock from buffer sloc   to regular sloc for sales order allocation.

Issue in generation of reservation through MO

i want that reservation is created after order release. but when i select from rel in res./purc req tab it create reservation before order release.
Kindly share how to prevent it.

If you mentioned the component in Order creation stage & even you made Res./PR as "From Release", system will create the Reservation Number. But you can't make any goods issue against that Reservation as there won't be any committed qty for that order / Reservation.
Once after release only, you can able to do the goods issues against that Reservation. This is SAP standard behavior.

Material reservation through Internal Order

We have internal budget scenario and activated availability control. However, at the time of material reservation, eventhough we are giving an Order as account assignment, budget is not checked. Is it the standard behaviour ?

System is working as expected and designed..
Reservations do not generate any commitments in the R/3 system. Commitments are exclusively generated from purchase orders, purchase requisitions, funds commitments and funds reservations.
As resevation is something you have booked for your future requirement, but not consumed.For budget anyway when you put actaul cost at that time system is cheking your budget.... that should be the correct approach...

Material Reservation Through Bom

I have a requirement that when am going to create a order i need to take material from E-BOM only and some of oil and greese i have to select from componets tab, from components tab i dont want to select any other material, so please hlip me how to enhance this task.

am using this user exit, when we are entering material in component tab other than E-BOM material, when we are saving it throughs an error it is not in BOM list when am going to delete it from component tab the system doesnt allow me to save the order.

Eg:
In components Tab: System should Check here only
Material No>>Enter>>It is in BOM
Material No>>Enter>>It is NOT in BOM

How to release stocks which are committed through Reservations

Dear Experts,
If we perform Availability Check at the time of creating reservations (through Project Systems), to commit stock, is there is any way to release that committed quantity automatically if the goods are not issued after an agreed time?

How can I reserve resources or rooms when creating an event in the Calendar (Exchange)?

On our Exchange server we have configured a number of conference rooms and other resources that users can book/reserve through Outlook when creating events. When I create an event in the iPhone on my Exchange calendar, if I add a location the option does not exist to book rooms/resources (even if I add in the resource word-for-word as it exists on Exchange server). I am also unable to book it if I invite the "Contact," if I may call it that, from our Global Address List. Does this capability exist in the iPhone?

I can't seem to do this successfully. I use the GAL to select the room, but when I send out the meeting I immediately get an automated response back that the delivery failed. I heard this may be because the iPhone OS does not distinguish between a normal attendee and a resource. Yet you seem to have it working. What version of Exchange are you using. Is it on Mac or PC? We are about to upgrade from Exchange 2003 to 2010, maybe that will help solve this?
Also, (this may just be semantics) on the iPhone under "Mail, Contacts, Calendars" the Exchange configuration is set to "on" to sync calendars. Is this the same as having the Exchange calendar "set as the default calendar" mentioned above?

Creation of reservation

Hi guru
When I am creating a reservation through TC MB21, it picks up the GL code assigned to the material but the commitment item is not changing but remains the same as is in the first line item.
Kindly suggest what additional changes needs to be done so that the commitment item is derived from the GL code.

Movement type for GI of material reserved from Network not allowed

Hi Experts,
Hope all are doing well.
I am facing a problem in PS, I have the following scenario.
I have some material in a storage location say 1010 - project storage location.
I want to use that material for some project. I have created a reservation from the Network for an activity 0010 with Procurement indicator - Reservation Plan Stock and Item category L.
After this saved the network, system generated reservation number.
I want to issue the material against this reservation from the Project Storage Location. (its not marked as Project Stock)
When I am trying from MIGO system says the material is not maintained for Q i.e., Project Stock.
I checked the movement type it is 281 Q, GI Network from Project, where as I want the Movement type 221 GI for Project from own.
The Movement type field in the Where tab of MIGO screen is in grat mode. So I cannot change that field.
Please tell me how can I issue the material from a storage location to the project for the reservation created from the network.
I am able to issue the material in case I am creating a manual reservation through MB21 with movement type 221.
Please guide me on this.

First yu will have to bring that much qty to project stock for that WBS element by MVT type 415 vide transfer posting. Then you can issue that qty. against the desired reservation.

Manual Reservation for Production orders with automatic reservations

Hello SAP Experts, i have a question regarding Order Reservations, in my company when we create a Production order the reservations for each component are created automatically and assinged to a reservation number, the thing is when i try to create a Reservation through MB21 for the same Production order the system says that" for that type of production order i cant generate manual reservations", can you please guide and tell me if i can change this in the configuration ?? , if you need additional info please tell me , thank you in advance.

Your system working according to std SAP setting, u don't need to change any config setting. Because wehn u release order, it automaticaly genarates reservation for each and evry component of the order.
when u do goods issue to order or to reservation either way it gets issue to the order.
suppose if u need to issue any extra component to the order u can just add in order componet overview before u release the order. so reservation gets genarated for this componets too along with BOM components.
In case afer release, if u need further components go to MB1A give mov type 261 and S.Loc and then click on new item push button, it pop ups one more window give all required parameters and post the goods. These goods issue will also gets updated in the order.
But for the order uc an not manually create the reservations

Automatic Reservation from Maintenance Order

Hi,
I have a problem. Generally from Maintenance Order type PM01 under Order Category 30, when we give some materials requirement, SAP automatically generate reservation for those materials and take the GL as Consumable Item.
But in my case, that GL has to be changed depending on what perpose we are using the material. But Manual reservation is not allowed for the order category 30 and no GL can be changed for automatic reservation.
Can anybody suggest any way-out so that we can give our desired GL No. for the reservation for Maintenance order (say Order type PM01 under category 30 which is SAP internal).

Thanks for your answer. Actually I found that place, it is determined from OBYC transaction with a combination of GBB (A/c Key) and VBR (A/c Modifier).
But for same movement type261, I need manual G/L allocation at runtime. i.e. depending upon case to case, the G/Ls will be different. So, different movement type perhaps would not serve the purpose.
Basically I need to over-write the G/L for automatic reservation created from PM in the PM01 order type with category 30 where manual reservation is not allowed.
Can you suggest any way out so that I can actually over-write the G/L for automatic reservation- through SPRO or some kind of development...
