Reset all settings on iPad but will not finish after 2 days!

Tried to reset all settings and delete data on iPad so i could pass it on to my wife but it has got locked into resetting mode (little rotating dial in middle of black screen) for more than 24 hours and will not finish, nor will any buttons work nor will iTunes recognize it or my pc recognize it when I connect it with UsB

Try to do hard reset. This won't delete your data stored on iPad.
Press and hold the Sleep/Wake button
Press and hold on the Home button
Keep holding both buttons until the display turns off and back on with Apple logo on it.
If this works in order to erase all date: Go to general settings/ choose reset/tap erase all content and settings

The photos could/most likely ARE still in photostream. I just did this with my ipad yesterday.
Log onto iCloud from a desktop in iPhoto and see if they alreaady synced over photostream first.

If they are still on your Mac's drive then you should be able to add them back into iTunes via File > Add To Library

Uggh, it's so frustrating! I've googled every search phrase I can think of and this seems to be the only thread describing this exact issue. I'm always automatically logged into Facebook on my MBP but just to be sure I logged out and back in and it worked fine.
I gotta say, I wasn't a fan of the Droid I had preceding this iPhone, and from what I hear the iPhone app for FB is a thousand times better - not that I'd know personally because I can't log in!! - but I could always access my FB account on the droid. Just sayin...

If you mean that you set a restrictions Passcode and you can't remember what it is in order to reset all settings - you have to restore the iPad as new.
The only work around is if you have a backup that does not contain that Passcode, restore from that backup.

Reset all settings: Choose General > Reset > Reset All Settings.
Enter your passcode if you have one. All your settings are reset. Information (such as your contacts and calendars) and media (such as your songs and videos) aren’t deleted.
Essentially, you reset preferences like the way that you had brightness set, your home screen layout, WiFi settings, sounds, alerts, that type of thing. It will reset those things to the factory settings - just like it was out of the box.

Apps show but will not run after sync

IPad syncing will not finish

My iPad will not finish syncing. It has been on step 7 of 7 for hours and still says "Waiting for items to copy". This has been a consistent problem for about a month... sometimes the final step is syncing music and sometimes photos or movies, regardless it seems like it alwasy stalls out on the final step of the syncing process. It's possible that It hasn't worked since moving to iOS 5 upgrade. It appears that everything is correctly moving from laptop to iPad... but I have to eject iPad to make it stop syncing and some of my apps are crashing too. Any ideas?

If you are syncing over WiFi - rather than ejecting the iPad - just try quitting iTunes if the sync will not finish. Restart your computer, and restart the iPad and see if that helps.
I had a similar problem and that is what worked for me.
The other thing that I have noticed - and maybe this is the wrong way to do this - but with WiFi syncing on my iPad - if I eject the device after the sync - iTunes does not want to recognize the device again when I relaunch iTunes. If I just quit iTunes after I sync, I have no problems with my iPad being recognized in iTunes when I launch it again.

Icloud sends updates to outlook made on ipad, but will not send existing appointments from pc to idevice

So i cannot get any existing outlook appointments to sync to my iPad 2 or my I4. I installed to icould control panel for windows and have everything enabled in it. When i create a even on my ipad it will show up in outlook on my pc. However, none of the existing pc based appointments show up on my i4 or ip2. It's weird because in outlook it shows icalander and has them all. I have tried rebooting my idevices and it did not help. I closed and re opened outlook and that pushed a test event created on ipad to my pc but did not push anything else. I did another test and New appointments created on pc sync to ipad, but still no existing appointments sync. Does anyone know how i can get them to show up?

The settings are the same as my PC, SSL is off and there is no Authentication required; I've check this requirement with Apple and Orange guidelines and this is also what they recommend; however, I'll try with the Authentication on and see what happens....I'll post again later, running out of time now so it could be after the weekend before I get back with an update. I linked through and submitted my info as a "topic not covered" in the iCloud section. After entering the serial number of my MBP it turns out I wasn't eligible for technical support (though I don't think this is hardware related support) and the final suggestion was to take my computer into an Apple store. I called my local Apple reseller and asked for assistance. The customer service rep was very nice but unable to help, so suggested I call Apple Support on 1300 321 456. I did so and, again, spoke to two very polite and helpful customer service people (I was transferred to security services). I didn't have to be on hold to speak to either rep for more than a few seconds! After trying a few different things, he worked out what was happening...
So, to cut a long story short, to solve the problem in my OP, all I had to do was log out of iCloud in my System Preferences and log back in using my current Apple ID. [Edited to add that I had to sign out of everything I was currently signed in to with my Apple ID before logging out and in again.]

FF 15.0 on Windows 7 (64 bit) PC opens in Safe Mode but will NOT open after letting FF do reset procedure; now "stuck" in loop.

1) FF 15.0.0.4619 on Windows PC 64 bit machine. No themes; about a dozen fairly standard plug-ins; a few extensions - fairly vanilla setup. Been having occassional problem this past week in viewing web PDFs.
Crash occurred after some program (adobe ??) wanted to do routine update.
2) Upon clicking FF icon pop up indicates "problem and unexpected crash" but clicking details button does NOT provide any info. Clicking on Restart FF button offers me option to Start in Safe Mode or Quit FF.
3) Starts in Safe Mode and first time I did that FF reported Java as being disabled and NOT upto date. Did Java update/install (Java Platform SE 7 U7 10.7.2). FF still will not start except in Safe Mode.
4) Re-booted computer ... Clicking FF icon brings up pop up with problem and crash sentence but no details. Following screen offers Reset to Default option, and upon clicking Reset it takes me back to the same pop up - so I am stuck in a loop that seems to accomplish nothing. Using Reset upon entering Sage Mode results in same loop.
I really hate using IE so appreciate any assistance in getting back to beloved FF.

Outgoing server settings entered correctly but will not update and tries to send under old settings

I can receive all of my emails correctly but can not send any emails. I have set up under a different program and it works fine. I have tried to update thunderbird by its settings and it does not provide any options?? I am running ubuntu 14.04lts.
My outgoing mail settings are correct but when thunderbird tries to send it uses old settings and does not update to the new mail server.
