Reset all the time Ipod Classic 80gb

Hello,
I have a question and I hope one of you can answer me.
I got an iPod classid 80GB for a long time already,
When i had my iPhone 4s I had to update iTunes so I did.
Later I wanted to put new music on my iPod classic, connected but it took a while before it connected to my PC
and i had to reset all settings and all the music was gone.
So I did reset everything, everything was gone so I connected again and I had to reset it again, again and again.
Everytime I connect my iPod classic to my PC it has to be reset because it's in 'Reset modus', and can't put any music on it.
I hope somebody had this problem already or know this problem that can help me out.
Thanks,,
Mats

Are any other USB devices connected to your PC when you reconnect it?
Have you seen this article?
Windows confuses iPod with network drive or hard drive and may keep iPod from mounting or songs may seem to disappear

  • IPod Touch 4th keeps reseting all the time!!

Hey everybody! I really hope that you guys can help me..
I was trying to exclude an app and then I decided to reset my ipod touch 4th. Now, it keeps reseting all the time by itself! The ipod don't turn off or even less turn on.. What can I do??

    - Connect the iPod to your computer. If iTunes sees the iPod then restore the iPOd.
    - Next see if recovery mode will allow iTunes to see the iPod so your can restore it.  For recovery mode see:
iPhone and iPod touch: Unable to update or restore
    - Then try DFU mode
How to put iPod touch / iPhone into DFU mode « Karthik's scribblings
    - Then, let the battery fully drain and then charge and try again.
    - Last, make an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store.

  • Are the newer ipod classics (80GB and above) compatible with docks for the older ipod classics (20GB)?)

are the newer ipod classics (80GB and above) compatible with docks for the older ipod classics (20GB)?)

I have an iPod Touch 2 with iOS 4.2.1.  This is the highest version that works on this device.  I checked it once and it had to do with iOS 4.3 and above only supporting the higher RAM CPUs on newer devices.
Apple does make it harder than it needs to be.  There still remain a number of apps available on iTunes that will work but they are hard to find because you must manually look at each app specs to see if the app supports an iOS below 4.3
App backups are your friend since iTunes has no way to keep older version of apps.

  • Received an apple id password reset email the night ipod classic was stolen. Coincidence?

My iPod classic was stolen from my vehicle. The same evening I received an apple id password reset email. Is it possible that the thief initiated the email with just the iPod and maybe my name (as it is on the vehicle registration in my car). There is no way this person could know my email address to initiate a request.

That's the only answer, if your email address was on the iPod the thief has it, everything on the iPod is open to him/her. But it would have to include your AppleID.
    It was a coincidence.

  • Ipod need to be reset all the time

Hi recently my Ipod is acting weird. if i don turn it on for 1 day the following day i need to reset it else nothing happens.
Is this supposed to be happening? I didn't hv this problem before.

    Anita,
I know you said that you need to reset your iPod (and by that I take it to mean you have to do it yourself), but are you aware that the iPod resets itself after being left inactive for a period of 36 hours or so?
    See iPod Sleep.

  • IPod resets all the time for no reason...

Everyday when i get in my car i go to turn on my iPod and it loads the Apple screen. It stays there for about 15 seconds then the main menu loads. Then if i turn it on a couple hours later it does the same thing. Why does this happen? Help.

That's completely normal behavior when the iPod has been shut off for a bit.

  • Phone really slow and needing hard reset all the time now.

I recently updated my Droid Razr Maxx HD to the latest OTA.  Since then it has become very slow and unstable.  Every two or three days I will have to perform a hard reset.  Going to the apps page is fine sometimes then other times it takes forever to load.  Has anyone else had problems like this and if so have you been able to fix it?
    Thanks
    Gabe Lundy

Update are meant to improve your device gabriellundy! I know how frustrating it must be to have to complete a hard reset on your phone multiple times. Have you tried running your phone on safe mode with out any applications? I would recommend to try this to determine if a third party app is causing issues to your device. • My iphone 4s shuts off automatically, and i can't turn it on with just the power button i need to do the "reset" all the time. it's been happening since sunday and today is already tuesday. what is happening?

    OS - 6.1.3
After it turns off it gets put into " recovery mode". and even if i do the "restart", i have to do it several times before the phone actually turns on. phone is 1 year and 5 mos old. already tried to restore it but it just keeps on shutting down. can anybody help?

Hi, thank you very much for your reply. No my phone was never been jailbreak-ed. Never been dropped in water or in any wet surface. Dropped on the floor while texting yes, but it was just a one time incident, last year august i can clearly remember, but after that no more (phone still works fine even after.) restored the phone again earlier, but problem still occured. Will try to go to Apple also to ask and have it checked.  Just worried because my phone is already out of warranty. Will keep you posted. Again, thanks. If you have any more advice just let me know. It would mean a lot.
    Cheers,

  • Newly fetched settings getting reset all the time (provisioning of SPA 122)

The initial configuration works and is pretty much a sample file that sets some defaults and resets the provisioning rule to fetch an encrypted file with this information:

I can see in /admin/config.xml on the adapter that it downloads and loads the settings for only a couple of seconds, but then quickly reverts back to the settings it had before downloading these - what is going on??

Seems my SPA122 is broken, the same procedure works when I tried another one. Yawn!

  • My iPad has a glitch and I have to reset all the time.

My iPad has a glitch and I have restore it already. Also I've reset it as we'll. it seems like it is ten steps ahead of me sometimes. Is there anything that I missed that I could use to fix this problem.

Try a hard reset. You won't lose anything. If you need to do a restore, your computer should back your iPod up first. Instructions in link below.

  • Bluetooth resets all the time

since install 4.3 my phone restarts or turns off bluetooth. It happen in my car, my headset and even my head phones. How do I fix this

Thats the offline mode option, I assume..
that isn't the one I meant. if you open the desktop menu (by pressing the top of the screen when the desktop is visible, there should be a button labeled "Internet connection".. if you click that, you should see an option "Disconnect blah" where blah is the wireless network you're connected to..
select that to disconnect from the wireless network.. OR select the 3G connection (which has a round icon with two arrows in it)
that will switch over to 3G..
That's all I did to get my bluetooth working.. it isn't a permanent fix, but it does demonstrate the problem..

  • Difetti che ho trovato nel mio iPod Classic 80GB

Salve a tutti, ho da poco comprato il nuovo iPod Classic da 80GB, vorrei dirvi che mi aspettavo qualcosa di meglio,
    - Lo trovo Lento;
    - Non posso credere che non sia possiblile disabilitare lo screensaver (orologio + Stato della Batteria) durante l'ascolto, i tecnici di apple devono inserire l'opzione per disabilitarlo;
    - Dovrebbero trovare una soluzione alla possibilità di "regolare" il volume di un brano (-100%...0..+100%) direttamente dall'iPod;
    - Sarebbe interessante poter vedere qualche informazione in più sul brano che si stà ascoltando se ho inserito i tag...
"I Translate my post in english..."
Hello, I recently bought the new iPod Classic (80GB), I'm not really that happy about it,
    - It think it is slow;
    - I can not believe it is impossible to disable the screen saver (Clock+Battery Status) when listening my music, Apple Engineer must create the option to disable it.
    - I would also like Apple Engineer find a solution to the possibility of "adjusting" the volume of a song (-100% ... 0 .. +100%) directly from iPod ...
    - I would like to see more information on that song listening if I entered other tags from iTunes...
I know that there are other posts that deal with this topic, but I wanted to make a post in Italian to allow those who do not know English to express their dissent on these issues, given that technical support is not responding to questions posed in Italian.
    Sorry my bad English.
    Thank you.

*technical support is not responding to questions posed in Italian.*
Apple "technical support" does not respond to any posts in any language because this is a user-to-user forum.

i did a reset on my iPod, then a restore now I can't do anything with it, turns off and on all the time, is there anything I can do?? cheers

    Try the remaining items of:
    - iOS: Not responding or does not turn on
    - Also try DFU mode after try recovery mode
How to put iPod touch / iPhone into DFU mode « Karthik's scribblings
    - If not successful and you can't fully turn the iOS device fully off, let the battery fully drain. After charging for an least an hour try the above again.
    - Try another cable
    - Try on another computer
    - If still not successful that usually indicates a hardware problem and an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store is in order.

  • IPod classic won't turn off when plugged into a home theater dock; what's up? will it hurt to leave it on all the time?

I bought a new iPod Classic and it won't turn off when plugged into a home theater dock. Is this normal and will it hurt the iPod if i leave it on all the time?

    Hi there,
How old is your Classic? Often, after a couple of years, rechargable batteries begin to fail, especially after such a long period of inactivity. This happens with any gadget with this type of battery.
Try leaving it plugged in for 24 hours, and try again, to rule out that it isn't just really low on charge. If this doesn't help, it may be a good time to buy a replacement. New iPod Nanos and Touches will be released this October.
Below, I've linked to an Apple website which explains rechargable batteries, and why yours may not be working.
    Apple - Batteries
I hope this helps, and I hope upgrading your device will not feel like an unnecessary expense. Let me know if you have any more questions,
    Nathan

  • My apple ipod classic 80gb says there is no music - anything on my ipod, but says it only has 37gb free. Then i try and plug it into my pc with iTunes on (i've set it to do not automatically sync devices) but it still freezes every time. can't restore.

my apple ipod classic 80gb says there is no music - anything on my ipod, but says it only has 37gb free. Then i try and plug it into my pc with iTunes on (i've set it to do not automatically sync devices) but it still freezes every time. the only way to unfreeze it is by detatching the ipod or resetting with menu/centre (until it loads up again, where it immediately unfreezes and comes up with a load of messages saying "cannot read iPod" and when i try and restore it by pressing menu/centre button while it's plugged in, it says "cannot restore as it is being used by another program" or "error 1415". Any ideas how to sort this out? hope i haven't majorly screwed it up. thanks.

Sorted it out. If anyone has this problem i reccommend visiting http://forums.ilounge.com/ipod-classic-ipod-5g-video/237546-ipod-classic-80gb-fr eezes-itunes-need-restore-plz-help-2.html#post1403546 there's some pretty good advice on it. have to go into control panel and re-format iPod into NTFS file. good luck.
