See Here for > Frozen or unresponsive iPod touch
Try this First... Nothing will be Lost...
Press and Hold the Sleep/Wake Button and the Home Button at the Same Time...
Wait for the Apple logo to Appear...
Usually takes about 15 - 20 Seconds... ( But can take Longer...)
Release the Buttons...

If that does not work... try letting the battery fully drain.
Then Charge for an Hour and try the Reset again.

I realized this morning my iPod Touch was not charging. I left it charging all night but nothing.
I read i have to reset it, but since now is fully uncharged, it does not allow me to do anything...
I tried to charge it with all possible resources (USB, different chords, power outlet, etc) but still out.
Should I take it to a Genius Bar?I would try here first.

I reset my ipod touch with ios 7 and cannot remember my apple ID
I yea reset it but now I cannot use it because I forgot the apple ID I used for it
Is there a way to find my Apple ID Name if I can't remember it?
Yes. Visit My Apple ID and click Find your Apple ID. See Finding your Apple ID if you'd like more information.
On a computer look who is signed in by going to Settings>Store>View Account
On an iTunes purchase, right click on a purchase and then go to Summary pane. The purchaser will be listed.
In any event yo have to enter the Apple ID and password used to previously set up the iPod in order to regain use of the iPod

how do you reset my ipod touch..daughter try passcode too many times now its disabled
Passcode Locked or Disabled
If nothing else will let you unlock the device - after so many unsuccessful attempts will be locked out - You have to restore the device within iTunes. You want to use the same computer that you always sync with so that you can restore your app data and settings. You can restore with any other computer, but you will lose everything on the Device.
Instructions can be found here.

locked ipod touch with password - tried to reset ipod by holding power button and home button for 10 seconds and it came up asking for password again
If you forgot your screen-lock passcode then:
Connect the iOS device to your computer and restore via iTunes. Place the iPod in Recovery Mode if necessary to allow the restore.
If recovery mode does not work try DFU mode.

For how to restore:
iTunes: Backing up, updating, and restoring iOS software
To restore from backup see:
iOS: How to back up
If you restore from iCloud backup the apps will be automatically downloaded. If you restore from iTunes backup the apps and music have to be in the iTunes library since synced media like apps and music are not included in the iPod backup that iTunes makes.

if i factory reset my ipod touch(5th gen), can i reset it to the option 'set up as a new ipod', and then i can just go into the app store/itunes store and log into my apple ID so i can just restore my music and apps and not icloud with photos, contacts, ect. and then later i can add contacts that i need/want instead of them restoring them from icloud?
The reason i asked this question is because i have been wondering this a lot ever since i got an exchange on this ipod (and ive only had it for a few weeks now) because my last ipod had a lot of problems. so after i restored my ipod with my computer/itunes, i downloaded apps that i wanted, and then when i went to the storage to see how much storage was left, it said 0 bytes. i was freaking out because i didnt know how that could be, i mean, cause like, that is impossible when i just 'purchased' it, that the space was full but i looked and all my pictures were on this ipod and i already put them on my computer so i dont need them anymore thats why i wanna reset it now so there is nothing on it so i can have more space for stuff to do and download on it.
it is updated to iOS 8 but that happened when i purchased it, so i didnt have a choice to update it even though i didnt want to update to iOS 8...
and i hope you understand my problem..
i would REALLY REALLY appreciate it if someone could tell me a solution to my problem!!! thank you so much!

Doing a Restore to New, Factory restore should correct it. Just make sure you make a full backup of all information on your iPod to your computer before you restore, so you don't lose your stuff, contacts, videos, pictures, non-iTunes music, etc, use the cable and connect with your computer. Then, via cable, connect to your computer, run the Restore to new, don't use your backup. Treat this iPod as if it was your first one ever. When restore is done, set up and add what info you wish to install on this iPod. The music apps etc you purchased should be on your computer, if not you should be able to retrieve purchased apps and music from iTunes. Any music, videos, apps not purchased from iTunes will be lost to you if you do not save them to your computer or the cloud first. When your done, make a current Backup and you should good to go. Hope this helps. Good luck. Cheers.

I want to reset my ipod touch 4th gen but i have forgotten the restrictions passcode and for some reason its not working on my laptop on itunes and the restore thing wont work! any help?
Make sure you have the Current Version of iTunes Installed on your computer
iTunes free download from www.itunes.com/download
Then See Here > http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1808
You may need to try this More than Once... Be sure to Follow ALL the Steps...
Take your time... Pay particular attention to Steps 3 and 4.
After you have Recovered your Device...Re-Sync your Content
Note:
To remove a forgotten Restrictions passcode you will need to Restore the Device as New...
OR... From a Backup created Before the Restrictions Code was set.... -

I reset my iPod touch, now the logo blinks on and off screen with no response
I reset my iPod touch, now the logo blinks on and off screen with no response
Try:
- iOS: Not responding or does not turn on
- Also try DFU mode after try recovery mode

- If not successful and you can't fully turn the iOS device fully off, let the battery fully drain. After charging for an least an hour try the above again.
- Try another cable
- Try on another computer
- If still not successful that usually indicates a hardware problem and an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store is in order.

I recently have reset my ipod touch 4g with a new apple id and cannot download Facebook,Skype or any app that reqires ios7 or later but ipod 4g can only have ios 6.1.6
Starting when iOS 7 was released, Apple now allows downloading the last compatible version of some apps (iOS 4.2.1 and later only)
App Store: Downloading Older Versions of Apps on iOS - Apple Club
App Store: Install the latest compatible version of an app
You first have to download the non-compatible version on your computer. Then when you try to purchase the version on your iPod you will be offered a compatible version if one exists. -

Please help me!! I needed to reset my iPod touch because my pass code was changed and I didn't know what it was, but now iTunes wont let me restore it what do I do?
You'll need to connect it to the iTunes library you normally sync it with and restore it. If iTunes asks you for this passcode before it will let you proceed, connect the iPod to iTunes in recovery mode instead using the instructions in this Apple support document.
