Reset and lost purchases

Factory reset then lost my purchases, can I download again free or is that it? Do I have to purchase again?

How do you keep a back up if you purchase via Apple TV.
You must have the AppleTv set up to sync with an iTunes library.
Then after a purchase is made on AppleTV, at the next sync, purchases copy over to iTunes and are listed under an 'AppleTV purchases' folder. This also ensurethat things on AppleTvare actually effectively mirrors of things in iTunes.
You should then backup files from iTunes as usual.
This does not work for streaming only libraries, and the sync library must be set up before you make purchases, as setting one up or a factory restore will wipe content from AppleTV.
IMO Apple should make AppleTv give warnings about direct purchases if you have no sync library set up as if you buy without one set u you can't transfer purchases off which is silly.
A factory reset erases all content on the Apple TV (correct) if you purchase on the MAC you are good, but if you purchase on the Apple TV you are what?
I do feel a bit more comfortable buying direct from iTunes, but I would say for some things I prefer the browsing on AppleTV now - I didn't think I would.
Also, in some countries things like HD rentals/purchases can't be done in iTunes.

How can I get back to the Home Page?  I hit reset and lost everything.  I have a dark screen with the white apple and a line under it.

Wait until it finishes restoring. It would be a good idea to connect it to the charger so it won't run out of power during this process.

Did you fail to transfer them to your computer before updating?

  • Time reset and lost internet connection

Booted up this morning and got a message that the clock had reset to a date sometime prior to 2008 and had requests for access from xgridcontrollered, DNSResponder and 2 other things. Not having seen those items before, I denied access. After restarting modem, resetting the clock/time (manually) and restarting everything again, everything came back and I got connected to Internet. A Google of xgrid, et al, revealed that they are part of my OS, so I understand that. I'm just not sure how the clock got reset and created the issue in the first place.
Any thoughts? My suspicion is that something happened to the modem connection overnight and it needed to be restarted. Computer came up and couldn't access Web to sync date and time and freaked out.

The same thing happened to me after restart from the last Safari update. Mac restarted fine initially but then suddenly shut down with no warning and when it finally restarted again after a few attempts was set to Dec. 1969 which caused internet connection issues. Reset the date, reset the modem, soft reset the airport, and restarted. It then became apparent it was definitely the automatic time configuration in talking with apple that was causing the crash so I've also turned that off for the time being to avoid subsequent hangs and crashes. Not sure myself how it got reset, but stability is variable at this point.
Processes hang unexpectedly and now the battery has gone from 95-100% charge to an 'X' in the toolbar. When I clicked on the X'd battery, it said the battery was not charging and then set to 0%. Now when I check on the battery charge information, however, it says the cycle is one. So now my question is, did this battery just coincidentally die at the exact same time as this other issue arose or is this somehow related? (The battery IS very old, but was generally between 96-100% when fully charged, as it was when this occurred. Also, other issues are present. Some may be related and some are likely not which adds to the confusion. The forum I originally visited to troubleshoot this was 72 pages long... modem/airport reset stopped erratic shut downs until the battery drained.)
Both Safari and Firefox run now, but become increasingly slow with continued use.

Place the iOS device in Recovery Mode and then connect to your computer and restore via iTunes. The iPod will be erased.

If recovery mode does not work try DFU mode.

If you restore from iCloud backup the apps will be automatically downloaded. If you restore from iTunes backup the apps and music have to be in the iTunes library since synced media like apps and music are not included in the backup of the iOS device that iTunes makes.
You can redownload iTunes purchases by:
Downloading past purchases from the App Store, iBookstore, and iTunes Store

  • Did reset and lost mail app

I reset my touch.  Now I don't have mail, and a couple apps that came pre installed.

With iOS 1.1.5 you can't add apps.  To add aps you need iOS 2 or later,  It appears you hve a 1G iPod. See:
    http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1353#ipodtouch
It may be that the Mail app did not come with 1.1.5 . A 1G can be updated as far as 3.1.3 that you get here:

  • UC560 - Factory Reset and lost something

We canceled our sip service and moved back to PSTN lines. After much trouble trying to get the calls to go over the lines, I factory reset the UC560. Went through the wizard and to my surprise it all worked just fine EXCEPT, the remote location where we have two phones are no longer working. I didn't think this would happen since we have Peplink routers using the speedlink vpn. It was passing vlan info before. I configured the IP addresses the same way for the UC560 just as they were before the reset but for what ever reason, the two phones can not check in with the UC560 anymore.
I figure this is not a Peplink VPN problem since I didn't change a thing with the routers/VPN. The UC560 appears to be the same IP addresses as before. VLAN 1, 90 and 100 are the same. I put the phones back in but they don't work. They phones that are local to the UC560 work fine.
I haven't a clue where to start looking. The only thing I see that changed was the UC560. I clearly didn't document something when I reset it.
    What did I miss?

It appears the phones are not registering. The ones on the local network, they registered just fine. I have tried factory resetting them but the outcome is the same.

  • IPad Mini reset and now purchased apps won't download for free.

Okay, so I just accidently got my iPad Mini in restore mode and I had to restore it. I didn't have any backups. After that, all went well, I didn't care much that some of my apps were gone. However, even though I'm logged into my apple ID that I downloaded it with, Minecraft PE costs money! So do all the other apps that I purchased before. I don't want to have to re-buy something that I already had! How can I fix this?

Go to Setting > iTunes & App Stores > Tap on your Apple ID and select Sign Out.
    Restart your iPad.
Go to the App Store and download any free app.
Once it's done installing, Go back to the App Store, then tap 'Purchased' at the bottom
You should at least see the new free app at this point.
Let me know how that goes.

  • 5 Unauthorized Syncs on my I-pod and lost Purchases

I need to go into a few events prior to asking my question to help explain the problem.
Recently, Christmas, my brother got his first I-pod, and I created a new account for him. We almost always use Itunes gift cards, which is why i didnt want him sharing my account, however since a credit card must be registered to the account, both of our accounts are under our mothers name and card.
I havent logged into my account since I got my Itouch about a year ago but i have made purchases wirelessly. Now, when I logged into my account to upgrade my Ipod, It said that my Ipod was sync'd to 5 other computers, which it can't since i never log into itunes from any other computer but mine at home, and for some reason my brothers new account wiped out all of my purchases and replaced it with his.
I don't understand what happened to all of my purchases or where all of these syncs came from.
A couple notes that might help:
-We got a new router since i last logged in
-My Ipod has accessed other wireless networks, but i never accessed itunes on them.

We almost always use Itunes gift cards, which is why i didnt want him sharing my account, however since a credit card must be registered to the account, both of our accounts are under our mothers name and card.
Accounts don't need a credit card.
If you use a CC to create an account, you can immediately delete the CC atter the account is created.
If you use a gift card to create an account (Click on Redeem instead of *Create account*), no CC is needed.
