Reset but leave apps on device
I would like to give my IPad (first version) to my granddaughter. How do I disconnect iCloud etc. so her mom can make a new account but like to leave the apps on the device since my granddaughter use them all the time in the past. Thanks for your help!

Ok so I should mention i'm not the original owner of this macbook pro but bought it very shortly after they did, and recieved it in mint condition. It is a late 2012 model, the 13 inch retina display one with mountain lion. When the original owner sold it to me, he pretty much just deleted his old account so that I could still use microsoft office, the only extra programs on there. As far as I know these are the only extra apps or programs that the macbook came with, and they are the only ones I want to retain since they would increase the selling price! If it were not for these I would just do a full reset but since that would delete them, I am here trying to figure out what to do and what risks are associated with doing it. The problem is that most of the information I have read online keeps pointing me in the direction of a full reset, meaning the apps would also be erased. I want to learn how to do what he did, but get a better insight on it since I have more information, browser history, data, etc. on the computer at this point than he did. If I have an external HD, I can just back up my music and documents on there right? I could care less about pictures since there are only a few, and the browser history I can just delete also and they would not have access right? So far I have not backed anything up since Time Capsule is still confusing to me. I am not sure if the external drive I have is compatible with mac files and I read that time capsule only works with some air port or something? As you can see I need someone to show me the light so any help or insight is greatly appreciated! Sorry if I did not include enough info on the product, if you need more just let me know

I'm not speaking for Kappy, but reformatting your HDD will erase Microsoft Office, as well as all the contents on the drive.
You would need the original Office CD and product key if you wished to pass it onto the buyer.
There's no legal or safe alternative. -
Selling MBP - how do I remove all personal info but leave apps?
Sorry for the newbie question.
I just bought a new MBP and sold my old one. I want to leave the installed apps on my old MBP (running 10.5.7) but make sure that all of my personal info, data, etc. is gone.
I'm not familiar enough with accounts on a Mac (I've never gone through the process of deleting one) but will the following accomplish what I want to do?:
1) Create a new user account for the new owner. Make that account an Administrator.
2) Reboot and log in as the new user.
3) Delete my current/old user account.
4) Start Disk Utility and use the "Erase Free Space" function.
So I guess my biggest question is in #3 above. When I delete my current/old user account, what does it wipe out and what does it leave behind?
I know my other option is to wipe the whole thing out and install from the OS X CD's that came with the MBP and then re-instal all the software but I'd rather not have to go to that extreme if possible.The very best way to do this is to do a complete Erase and Install with the original system disc. You can do any additional erasing before that.
What about the apps? Provide the seller with the original discs of those too, and let them reinstall them. Note that with some companies you will want to fill out a Transfer of License so that legal ownership and rights to future upgrade discounts are transferred to the new owner and don't remain with you, because that would screw the new owner if they tried to get an upgrade and they couldn't because it was still registered to you.
I would not sell a machine that hasn't been completely wiped. I want all traces of me off that thing. And that includes any confusion as to the legal ownership of the apps you are selling with the machine. -
Is there any way to reset my iphone i did the latest update and now i cant download any new apps? I tried to do the general reset but it keeps telling me that my passcode is not correct. This is the same passcode that I use to unlock my phine though to get in to it.

I set up a new network with a new AirPort Extreme station. I was able to reset all of my old devices, Airport Express, etc., by I haven't been able to get my time capsule to attach to the new network. It just doesn't show up anywhere.
Ultimately I am using it as an extender itself.
Thanks, but I'm not sure that you understand that an extender can function using a network Ethernet wired connection or a wireless connection.

my ipad automatically jumps from one app to other. it automatically types things randomly. i dont know what it wrong. Have shown it in a service center. they have done factory reset but problem still persist.

I can't open the apps I purchased for my iPhone 4s. I did the reset but I still can't open it.
I tried reseting it and resyncing it with my itunes, but the apps still won't open.
If they are the third party apps that are not working - try downloading another app - any free app is fine. Try that.

After I did a reset my gps apps will not receive a signal from my remote GPS receiver. The GPS app wa working fine before. I reloaded the app but no luck. My remote GPS receiver is paired to my iPad and has a strong signal.

I checked the list of installed apps like you suggested (Settings>General>Usage>Storage>Show all apps) but this problem app is not in the list. I have also swiped down on the home screen to search for it, but again it does not show.
While it has not let me download the app (and I just tried it again) it has helped me to eliminate a few things from the list of what to try, and I can definitely conclude that it has not downloaded.
I guess I need to fire up my PC and download it / sync my iPad.

I can not update my installed apps from the App Store Update page. I can individually update from the App Store Purchased page. I tried a soft reset but still unable. Any suggestions?
You are doing all that you cn do right now other than to update the apps in iTunes on your computer and sync them to the iPad.
There has been a problem with the App Store updates tab for a few days now and we are all waiting for Apple to fix it.

I've logged onto iTunes, but it's asking me security questions because it's a new device, and I'm getting the answers wrong, but iTunes wants to reset but send the new passwords to my ex partners email address how can I get round this.
I believe part of the recovery process is you get an e-mail allowing you to reset questions. If that e-mail isn't correct either because your son set it up then you really have no option but to ask Apple again. They are getting strict abotu security and given the number of "My iTunes account got hacked" posts here I can guess why. They have no way of knowing you really are the owner of the account. It's like me going to a policeman and saying, "See that car over there? That is mine, can you open the door for me?" and the police opening it on that basis alone.

I have saved a lot of videos from my tube app but my ipad is crashing and I was told to back up my ipad and reset but last time I did that , it didn't save my videos and I am scared I will have to redownload my videos individually again ...anyone know another way to save these videos?
Save the videos to your computer. There must be some way to do it. Read the documentation that came with the app or go to the app online support. Perhaps it uses iOS file Sharing.
If it is this app, it states in the description that you can transfer the videos to your computer via USB or WiFi.

Itunes isn't working properly. I get this message every time I try and open Itunes. I've uninstalled, reinstalled itunes and all the support programs. Quicktime and Safari launch fine. Tried it with Nortons antivirus turned on and turned off etc.
