Reset id and password

Good Day,
I have a Officejet pro 8600 PLUS.
When trying to scan from network folder and select documents it asks for pin number which i don't remember.
How can I either retrieve it or change it.
Thank you.
Jack

Hello @spacecomet , welcome to the forums!
If you have forgotten your Pin number that you established when you set up the scan to a network folder, you can restore the network defaults on the printer and run through the set up all over again. This time, you can leave the Pin space blank and continue without one if you prefer.
On the printer, select the Setup Menu, Network Menu, Restore Network Defaults, restart the printer.
If the printer is connected to your network, you will have to set the printer back up on the network. You can run the wireless setup wizard from the Network Menu to join the printer back on the network.
To set up the scan to a network folder, follow these steps: Scanning to a Network Folder Using Direct Digital Filing
That should help, I hope it does!
Have a great day

  • Resetting username and password autofill for particular site.

Upon filling in the password and username field on a particular site I inadvertently clicked on "Never for this Site" on the drop down that requests whether I want this information automatically filled in for this site. Where is this information stored so that I could navigate there and delete that instruction? Or is there some other method to resetting this instruction?

Open Safari's Preferences > Autofill pane and click on Edit for "User names and passwords", select the URL of the web site you told it never to AutoFill and click on the "Remove" button.

  • How to reset username and password

I Have a WRT 320 N router and we need to access but it refuses to accept  default username and password (admin) what do we do now???

Leave the username blank and admin for password. If it doesn't work, I'm afraid you have to reset the router to defaults.

  • Resetting username and password, but I have two iPhones using the same username and password. Can I delete the App Store user name on one device without affecting the other phone?

When we bought our daughter her iPhone I thought it would be a great idea for her to use my username and password for her App Store. As she is learning to download and search off apps, it appears that this May not hand been a good idea as the apps I have on MY iPhone, are showing as already downloaded and on our cloud. I'd prefer to change the username on her device, but in looking I am noticing that I will probably be deleting the username and password on both of our devices and then I will have to reset for both of us. Am I correct?

If you create an Apple ID for your daughter, signing out of the existing Apple ID with the iTunes & App Store on her iPhone will not change anything on your iPhone.
All apps include DRM protection which is tied to the Apple ID that was used to download the apps.
If she starts using her Apple ID to download apps, when there is an app update for an app on her iPhone that was downloaded with the current shared Apple ID, she will need to use that Apple ID and password to download the app updates.

  • How to reset user and password on MacBook Pro without CD

I recently bought a MacBook Pro, 15" with Lion on Ebay.
There are times when I am asked for a password. I have asked the person who I bpught it from, but he does not remember.
I do not have the original disk, so I need a method to reset the user and password.
    Thanks

    Thank you for your input.
I received an e-mail from a computer tech that thought the following would work; please let me know what you think:
ResetLion password with Single User mode
Anyone running Mac OS X Lion cantake advantage of this method:
Shut down your Mac and turn it back on while holding     down the Command and S keys at the same time until your see     a black screen with white text. This is known as Single User mode.
You can skip this step, but it’s recommended that you     don’t because it will check the consistency of your hard drive. At the     prompt, type fsck -fy and press Enter.
Once the disk check is complete and the prompt returns,     type mount -uw / and press Enter.
Type launchctl load     /System/Library/LaunchDaemons/com.apple.opendirectoryd.plist and press     Enter.
Type ls /Users and press Enter. All of the     usernames on the computer will be listed, which is helpful if you don’t     know or remember what these are.
Type dscl . passwd /Users/username password     while replacing username with one of the users displayed in     the previous step and replacing password with the new password     of your choice. Press Enter. You will likely get an error message about a     file or directory not being found – it’s safe to ignore this.
    Type reboot and press Enter.

  • Downloaded Yosemite two days ago; now we can't log back on to our computer. We've reset username and password and are still unable to use the computer.

We've had our Mac for 8 years, with so so satisfaction.  Two days ago we downloaded the latest version of Yosemite, and now we are unable to access our computer. Right after the download, it was working fine--it was when we shut it down for the nigh and then tried to boot it up again that we ran into trouble. We can't get past the log-in screen since our username and password no longer work. We tried resetting both, but still nothing. We've used the same username and password since we got the computer, and we've NEVER had trouble with it. Now we can't even use the Mac at all, and I don't know how to troubleshoot it since there are no options on the log in page.
    Thanks!

Do you know the password for an existing user account? If so, just log in as that user, go to the Accounts system preference & click the "Change Password..." button to change it. You can also change the 'long' user name to whatever you want in the "User Name" box in that same preference.
However, if you want to change the 'short' name of any account (the one used for the account's home folder, the Reset Password utility on the Mac OS X Install disc won't help -- it just allows anyone that can boot the Mac with that disc to reset the admin password, but not change the user short name associated with it.
To do that follow the procedure in Mac OS X: How to change user short name or home directory name. Of course, to do that, you need to know the password for an admin account (to enable the root user), so if you don't know the password for any admin account, you would need to use the reset password utility from an installer disc.
AFAIK, any Mac OS X Install disc capable of booting the Mac in question can be used for this, & using one that you don't actually own should not violate the software license agreement, since you are not using that disc to install anything.

  • HT5625 Reset UserID and password

I changed e-mail provider so changed my userid and password. Now my ipod still comes up with the old ID and will not recognise the password. Any suggestions?

That was it, I had changed the ID on iTunes but the old I'd was still on the iPod. When I deleted the old and entered the updated one, problem solved. So obvious in hindsight.
    Thanks

  • Proxy Servers, Password Resets/Expirations and Password Policies

Our current configuration has two directory proxy servers and two directory servers, all running DSEE 6.3.1. The LDAP clients point to the proxy servers and the proxy servers point to the directory servers.
When the LDAP clients user the proxy servers, users aren't notified on password resets or expirations. When I point one of the LDAP clients directly at on the directory servers, bypassing the proxy servers, the expected behavior of being required to change a password on reset or notification of password expiration works fine.
We would like this to work via the proxy servers as well. Can anyone point me in a direction or two to determine why this isn't working as expected ?
    TIA!

I opened a service call on this and in speaking with the rep, who was reading the CR mentioned in the first reply, he said it contained a note about the fix being scheduled for release in DSEE 7.x. I'm not sure if it made it into the recently released 7.0 or not.
A patch released for the 6.3.1 proxy servers on the 21st of December didn't include mention of the CR in the notes, although there was mention of another CR that sounded like it might be related.
Since it appears the CR was created in late November, I'd be surprised if either the DPS 6.3.1 patch or the 7.0 full release address the CR. In either case, I'm assuming you'll have to wait if you don't have a support contract with Sun that covers DSEE.

  • How do you reset username and password?

Had to reinstall tiger/archived settings etc. When went to login couldn't.
I reset the password but still couldn't get in. Can I reset or change the username? How?

    sig:
Thanks. I'm beginning to understand, I think. So the old NetInfo database with corrupted log in information is removed. Then during the set up process a new Users Folder is created.
One of the concerns this raised for me was that the User data would be duplicated in the process, which might run into a problem of insufficient HDD space, as sometimes happens in Archive and Install. However, the information in the data itself remains intact and moved to the Users folder.
Question about User Libraries: Would moving the User Library back risk re-introducing any corruption that was part of the initial issue? Is there something in the User Library that should not be copied back?
Thanks for your patience, sig. I'm a bit slow about some of these things.
    Cheers

You need to ask Apple to reset your security questions. To do this, click here and pick a method; if that page doesn't list one for your country or you're unable to call, fill out and submit this form.
They wouldn't be security questions if they could be bypassed without Apple verifying your identity.

Are you positive you're using the exact Apple ID to update these apps that was used to originally ontain them? You can verify such by right-clicking one the apps, in your iTunes library, & selecting "Get Info". This will show you the Apple ID used to originally obtain the app...does it match on your phone?
