Reset Iphone without on/off button

My Ihpone 4s is totally dead. I cannot start up with my computer. Does anyone can help me how to reset him? Suddenly the iphone was totally off.

A reset requires a functional power button.
If the device will not power on when external power is connected, take it to Apple for evaluation and possible replacement.

Iphone 4 on/off button jammed. It is under warranty. Bought it from Singapore can i get it repaired or replaced in Mumbai without any charges?

The iPhone warranty is only valid in the original country of purchase. You would need to ship the phone to someone you know in Singapore. This would be at your expense. Your other option is to look for a local 3rd party repair shop but this will void your remaining warranty.
    Good luck.

  • How to Reset iPhone with Broken Power Button

    Hello
Just recently I've had the problem with my phone, it had a non-responsive black screen and it would not turn back on
    If you have this same issue, please follow these steps;
    1) Connect your iPhone to iTunes
    2) Enable backup of your phone via iCloud
    3) Restore your iPhone to the latest backup that you can see, it would be soon; due to the backup being directly to your iCloud wirelessly
I'm not 100% sure if it will fix your issues as well, but it worked for me. Good Luck!

There's no way to reset the iPhone without the power button.

The phone is useless unless you can contact the previous owner. There is nothing anyone can do to help. If you are able to contact, the following contains instructions on what they need to do: iCloud: Activation Lock

If the Reset doesn't work, try a Restore.  Note that it's nowhere near as quick as a Reset.  Connect via cable to the computer that you use for sync.  From iTunes, select the iPad/iPod and then select the Summary tab.  Follow directions for Restore and be sure to say "yes" to the backup.  You will be warned that all data (apps, music, movies, etc.) will be erased but, as the Restore finishes, you will be asked if you wish the contents of the backup to be copied to the iPad/iPod.  Again, say "yes."
At the end of the basic Restore, you will be asked if you wish to sync the iPad/iPod.  As before, say "yes."  Note that that sync selection will disappear and the Restore will end if you do not respond within a reasonable time.  If that happens, only the apps that are part of the IOS will appear on your device.  Corrective action is simple -  choose manual "Sync" from the bottom right of iTunes.
If you're unable to do the Restore, go into Recovery Mode per the instructions here.

  • IPhone 4 on/off button jammed

    Evening all,
I'll keep it short - my iPhone 4 on/off button has been jammed for the last couple of weeks (on within the past few days I have been unable to actually turn it off), previously I was able to but with a lot of force on the button.
I've ad the phone since Dec' 2011 and presumably it's out of warranty? Would Apple replace it for a new one or could it get costly?
    Cheers

Settings App > General > Accessibility > Assistive Touch > ON > tap new white screen button > Device > Lock Screen. This can even be used to turn OFF iPhone. To turn iPhone ON, connect to power, charger or USB of computer.
Apple Store would handle this problem with replacement iPhone 4 exactly like yours for $149.

  • My iphone 3gs on off button does not work.  Is there another way to reset the phone?

The on/off button on my iphone 3gs does not work.  I cannot shut the phone down to reboot and it is stuck in a no service.  I cannot get cell or internet service.  Is there another way to reboot the phone?  Possibly a soft reset?

The screen goes to voice control.  It only recognises the home button not the on/off button.  Is there a way to soft reset the phone?

  • Tungsten E2: On with a blank screen. Does not respond to resetting or to On/Off button.

Three times in the past couple of months my Tungsten E2 has appeared with a lit, completely blank screen. It does not respond to the On/Off button nor to resetting, either soft or hard. This is true whether nor it is connected to its charger.
By accident I discovered that I can recover by letting power run down. Eventually it shuts down. I then connect it to its charger; it recharges and recovers. All I lose, so far as I know, is the date and time.
I'd appreciate any suggestions for preventing this from happening in the future or for an easier and quicker way to recover.
    Thanks,
    - Alan
ps. I realize that there are several similar messages on these boards, but I didn't find any suggestions that worked for me.

Are you sync'ing the new device to the same username in Palm Desktop as an older device?
If you are, this will cause problems on the new device. When you sync the device, it saves the device settings, 3rd party apps, preferences, etc. in the backup folder in the username folder on the PC. When you sync the new device it copies the contents of the backup folder for the old device to the new device. This will cause corruption in the settings for the new device thus causing erratic behavior of the new device.
    If you are, you may need to hard reset your device and rename your backup folder. Go to http://www.palm.com/cgi-bin/cso_kbURL.cgi?ID=887 and follow the directions to do a hard reset. Next before you hotsync your data back over you will need to rename your backup folder, to do that go here;
    XP
C:\program files\palm or palm one\[hotsync username]\ and rename your backup
    folder to backup.old
    Vista
Start-->documents\Palm OS Desktop\[hotsync username]\ and rename your backup
    folder to backup.old
Then hotsync to your current hotsync name and all your contacts, calendar,
tasks, and memos will come back over.
Show file extensions for XP or Vista
    XP
If you can not view file extensions on your PC I would like you to open a
folder go to Tools-->Folder Options--> View (tab) and under show hidden
files and folders uncheck hide file extensions for known file types.
    Vista
Open control Panel go to Folder Options--> View (tab) and under show hidden
files and folders uncheck hide file extensions for known file types.

  • IPhone 5 turn off button not working properly, is it a hardware defect?

My iPhone 5 (1year and 4 months) has trouble with its turn off button, I've heard of other friends with same issue, is it a hardware defect?

Things just break. The IPhone buttons are basically a thin plastic sticker with a thin flexible metal lining. The simple sticker slips (slides) out of place just a hair (far less than mm) and the alignment of the metal lining cannot make connection, so button does not function correctly. Things just break.

  • Iphone 5 on/off button in main display

    Dear All,
I have recently bought a Iphone 5  with 32 Mb and one feature that I miss from my Nokia is the on/off button on the main display, as I need to do it every day four times when going on the car to use hands free, I have checked in the Iphone 5 and it needs to go to settings, bluetooth and then on/of ( three clicks ) before I can do the operation compared to Nikia one click.
Any idea how to resolve this problem and have the on/off buttom on the main display?
Thanks for the support and regards

  • Iphone 4 On/Off Button Stuck

The on/off button on my iphone 4 is stuck. When i press it nothing happens. Any ideas on how to "un-stick" this button??

Its on its way to completely stop working. The same thing happened to me. The power button worked for a couple of days if i pressed very hard but now its not working at all. So cant lock the phone or power off. If you're still in the warranty period take it to the apple store and they will give you a new phone.
