     - Reset Keyboard on every device ("Settings> General> Reset > Reset Keyboard Dictionary") doesn't work

You have to restore the iPad to factory settings without using the back - if the backup contains the password for restrictions. If the backup does not contain the password, you can use it. But remember that if you use that backup, you turn back the clock on the iPad to the date and time that the backup was created and you lose everything that you have acquired with regard to data and photos since then.
However, when you restore to factory settings, you erase the iPad complete and will have to start all over again. Much of your paid content can be downloaded again for free as long as you use the same Apple ID.

  • How do i reset my mac ios 10.4.11 to factory settings

how do i reset my mac ios 10.4.11 to factory settings?

Tiger is not an iOS.   iOS refers to the operating systems on iPads, iPhones, iPod Touch, and AppleTV if you look at its framework operating system alone.    For Macintosh computers, all Apple operating systems since 2006 are some version of Mac OS X.  2001 to 2005 you may see a mixture of Mac OS 9.1 to Mac OS X 10.4 something.  But do not refer to Tiger as an iOS, as that will only serve to confuse those trying to help you, as to what you want.

  • If reset Iphone 4S (iOS 6) to factory setting, it becomes iOS5?

    Hi all,
Currently my Iphone 4S is on iOS6. if i reset it back to factory settings, will it become iOS5 back? i don't mind losing my data. Or is there any other way for my 4S to become iOS 5? thx in advance

Apple does not support downgrading iOS firmware. Even if you reset the iPhone you will still have iOS 6.
    Hope that helps

  • Resetting network settings iOS

Hi I have noticed recently that when I have reset my network setting on iphone 5 my ipad seem to have also seems to have reset itself also? I.E. The ipad has lost all passwords for home wifi log in etc to routers. Can anyone explain why this is happening?

Sorry i didn't notice that you were talikng about two devices.
However, there is no way that resetting Network Settings on your iPhone would affect your iPad. The reset is strictly local to the device being reset.
The only way the iPad could have lost the home network password would be if you restored the iPad from a backup of the iPhone, or you changed or reset the network password on your router.

  • Will a complete reset remove latest iOS update?

background data...  Bought new iPad air.  Tried to restore from cloud with data from old ipad2.  IOS rev was not compatible.  Had to set up as new iPad and update.
NOw ow I want to erase the setup but leave the update, how do I do that?

The iOS update is not undoable. Updating is a one way street.
If i'm understanding your 2 was running iOS8 when you backed it up? And your new air is running 7? You can't put a 8 backup on a device running 7. However you can update your new ipad with 8 then restore your backup of your 2.
For example,  set up your new iPad as new then update it to iOS8. Don't bother to put any of your data on it. Then once you're running 8, you can restore your new iPad from the backup of your old one and your data should transfer across.

  • I am suddenly logged out from whatever program or app i am working on and i have to log back in.  one solution suggested is to reset or restore of my IOS software which is quite an involved endeavor.  anyone knows of the cause and simpler solution?

i find that i am suddenly logged out of  program or an app or website, and i am back to the HOME screen.  i have to log back in and sometimes i find back exactly where i left off, some stuff i have entered or written,  or sometimes i have to start all over again and re-enter data or write back what i seem to have lost.
i tried a different browser and it does not solve the problem.  i tried different  apps, website and programs and it happens anywhere and at any app, program or website.
apple staff suggested a complete restore of the IOS software, which is quite an involved process. does anyone know of any possible causes and a simpler
solution without having to reset the entire IOS 7.0.6

    Hello Philly,
I believe that when you reset your ipod(command given from the computer, right?)  touch WHILE the ipod was updating, It cleared the system in the middle of writing files, thus corrupting(equivalent of cutting of in the middle of a sentence) the basic running system.
I suggest you go to an apple store and ask for a technical diagonosis in person. they may offer to help if the problem is fixable. If your ipod is still under warrenty, i would guess it would be free/low cost.

    Hi redhuggybear84010,
    Welcome to the Support Communities!
The first thing I would suggest is to close all of your open apps, restart, and reset your iPhone:

iPhone, iPad, iPod touch: Turning off and on (restarting) and resetting

If the issue persists, Reset All Settings on the iPhone.  This information can be found in the iPhone User Guide:
    Reset iPhone settings - iPhone

Reset iPhone settings. Go to Settings > General > Reset, then choose

  • I have had my ipod 4th generation for a year now and had not had any problems until now. My ipod no longer connects to my WiFi. i have reset my network settings, forgot my network and followed all of Apple's advice. Any ideas?

The WiFi isn't working on my 4th generation anymore. I have several devices connected to the WiFi which two of them are iPhone 5 that haven't had ant problems with WiFi. I have had my iPod for a year. I have tried everything and it still doesn't work. Any ideas? Thanks.

Does the iPod connect to other networks?
Does the iPod see the network?
    Any error messages?
    Do other devices now connect?
Did the iOS device connect before?
Try the following to rule out a software problem:
    - Reset the iOS device. Nothing will be lost
Reset iOS device: Hold down the On/Off button and the Home button at the same time for at
least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
    - Power off and then back on the router
    - Reset network settings: Settings>General>Reset>Reset Network Settings

    - iOS: Recommended settings for Wi-Fi routers and access points
    - Restore from backup. See:

  • How do I add songs to a current playlist now that I've downloaded iOS 7 to my iPhone 4? I don't seem to be able to add songs anymore-- when I try to add the song, it just starts playing it instead.

I used to be able to open the playlist, choose to Edit it, then go to the song I wanted to add and the song would have a plus sign next to it and if I tapped the song, it would be added to the playlist however many times I tapped it. Now when I Edit the playlist, I go to the song I purchased to add it and there is no plus sign, but I figured, hey maybe that's new too, and I tap it anyway. Instead of going on my playlist it just starts playing. I even thought, after multiple attempts at this, that if I let the song play all the way through it would go on my list, but that was a failed idea as well.
Does anyone out there know how to fix this? I realize I can probably start a new playlist---or maybe I cant!!! --I haven't even tried! But even if I can, I don't want too because this one has lots of songs in a particular order, and I just want to add my new purchases!
I already greatly dislike the visual changes that came with iOS 7 - so I hope these other issuesare easily fixable....
    Thanks!

    Hi TakesTwo2Tango,
Thanks for using Apple Support Communities.  It sounds like you should definitely be seeing a plus sign after tapping Edit, so I would try a couple relatively easy things (closing the Music app, resetting the iPhone):
iOS: Force an app to close
    http://support.apple.com/kb/ht5137
iPhone, iPad, iPod touch: Turning off and on (restarting) and resetting

Since both iPhone and iPod stopped connecting I suspect a problem with your network.

    Hello paula.a.williams66,
It may help to force close all open applications, then reset your iPhone.

So disappointed with IOS 6.  I'm having weak wifi connection since upgrading to it.  Can Apple do something about it? Can you at least reset it to IOS 5.1.1?

Sorry Jim for the wrong question because I'm getting frustated with my IPAD since I can't use it for surfing internet with a faster speed.  Ipad was very convenient to use until this IOS 6 upgrade.  Tried all the suggestions in the forums but still gets back to weak wifi connection.
