Reset of Web Services

I have a Photosmart Premium model C410a and can not reset my Web Services so I can ePrint? Help.

Hi Olmstead,
How have you tried to reset Web Services?  Also, what kinds of issues have you been experiencing with ePrint?
Depending on what you've tried so far and what kinds of ePrint issues you're experiencing, the solution may vary.
One method you can try is pressing the ePrint button on the front of your printer and disable Web Services, then re-enable it the same way.
If I have solved your issue, please feel free to provide kudos and make sure you mark this thread as solution provided!
Although I work for HP, my posts and replies are my own opinion and not those of HP.

  • Connection reset error while calling web service deployed on tomcat

    Hello Friends,
    I am trying to invoke a web service from web dynpro application. The web service is deployed on tomcat 5.5 server.
    I am creating an adaptive web service model using wsdl file. The model gets created without any error.
    But when application is deployed and run it is giving following exception:
    java.net.SocketException: Connection reset
        at java.net.SocketInputStream.read(SocketInputStream.java:168)
        at java.io.BufferedInputStream.read1(BufferedInputStream.java:254)

    I tried to call the service from a simple java application. There the service works fine.
    Also, in the web services navigator, if I specify the wsdl url for testing it gives the same error of "Connection reset".
    I don't think this is a proxy server issue as the tomcat is within the local network.
    Can someone please help me with this?
    Thanks and regards,
    Mayuresh

  • Connection Reset while making http web service call to remote server

    Hello guys,
    Our environment details are as follows:
    WebLogic version: 10.3.3
    Cluster: yes
    Database: Oracle
    Web service server: Remote application
    When our WebLogic server makes a http Web service call to another remote application which runs on IIS server for creating a record. The record gets created in remote application but WebLogic server log says java.net.SocketException: Connection reset and the same record doesn't get created in WebLogic application. We have confirmed that remote application is running and it is behaving as expected. Also, we installed web service client on our WebLogic machine just to isolate any network related issues, when we make a same request through this client it works fine and we get answer. At this point in time, it looks like it could be WebLogic or application which is behaving goofy. we are running out of ideas, it would be nice if someone have any thoughts on it like turning on any flags or any other troubleshooting steps. Please, let me know.

    thanks a lot for your help in advance
    Regards,

    Here's what the issue was for us:
    When the web service was initializing, Weblogic? was trying to retrieve the WSDL first before initializing the service.
    Though the web service URL was proper, the WSDL itself was unresolvable. This led to this strange connection reset error.
    So, if you're experiencing this consistently, check your WSDL URL.
    We used "strace" to discover this problem by running it for a brief time while the web service initialization was attempted - and it very clearly showed that the code was attempting to laod something from a bogus address / IP

  • Connection Reset Error, When invoking Web Services

    I'm trying to invoke a web service using 'Invoke Web Service' Operation. Its works for 8 out of 10 times. Sometime it stalled with "Conneciton Reset' error.
    When retry this stalled action from AdminUI, its works fine.
    Can someone advise on this issue?
    I have attached the error log for reference.
    Thanks,
    Nith

    If you attempt to retry the stalled component through adminui, it will work. Am i correct?
    If so, you can test the following approach.
    1. drag a blank component (e.g a decision point)
    2. connect a line between the exception of the Web Service Invoke operation to the decision point.
    3. Choose java.io.IOException from the eeception drop down.
    4. again connect the decision point back to the web service invoke component. (i mean a looping)
    This approach was working fine with me.
    Please see the attached image shows my routing.
    PS: After a couple of days, I tested without looping and it seems to be working. So I removed the loop now.

  • Coonection reset error when calling web services

    Hi,
    I am newbie to web services.
    I am calling the web service in my application.
    I had imported the certificates into my runtime JVM using keytool and having the host entry also.
    While hitting our application (where I am calling the external web service), the following connection reset error is logged in the console,
    WebServicesFault

    Can anybody help me to trace this problem? what could be the cause for this? Did it require any other configuration such as in java.security , java.policy?
    Help me.
    Thanks in advance.

  • Resetting User Password by calling an external Web Service

    Hi,<br>
    <p>
    We have an external Web Service, which handles Active Directory related activities.  We would like to use this service to help users reset their passwords.  We created a Portal Service from the external Web Service's WSDL.  We have exposed the methods we require from this Web Service and are able to call these methods by creating Abstract Portal Components.  We are currently testing the exposed methods via the Portal Component Starter and Viewer.
    </p><p>
    The current logon.par has a ResetPasswordPage.  The corresponding form within the JSP is submitting data to the following string:
    <br>
    <i>inPortal?proxy.getAlias("RPWFS"):logonBean.getLogonURL(proxy, null)</i>
    <br>
    <p>
    From what I can understand, the proper action URL will be returned by the method getAlias("RPWFS").  However, I am unable to find the definition of "RPWFS" in the PAR file.
    </p>
    <b>Questions:</b><br>
    <li>
    What does "RPWFS" stand for?  Where is this defined?
    </li><li>
    Would it be possible to modify the ResetPassword JSP file in the logon.par so that upon data submission, the Portal Service is called?
    </li><li>
    Where can I find documentation on JSPDynPage and DynPage (and how to create and edit the above-mentioned items)?
    </li><li>
    Is there any documentation on the functions used in the logon.par?  For example, what is IAccessToLogic?  Where is this defined?  What does it do?  Is there a library where we can search for information on this kind of stuff (like MSDN for Microsoft and API docs at java.sun.com)?
    </li>
    <br>Thank You.

  • HP Color LaserJet MFP M570dw and HP Web Services

    Hi,
    I have a HP Color LaserJet MFP M570dw printer and have tried to enable the HP Web Services, but without success.
    My printer is configured on a fixed ip-address, with a default gateway and of course with static DNS servers (8.8.8.8 and 8.8.4.4).
    Every time when I try to enable the Web Services feature I get the error message "Connection error. Check your internet connection.".
    My internet connection is working fine and the printer is able to communicate thru the firewall fine too. When I do some tracing I see the printer communicating to the public ip-address "23.21.172.122" but there is no response comming back. So I assume the problem is external and not related to my internal configuration. I have tested this with a fully opened firewall (allowing all communications from my LAN to the Internet) with exactly the same results. There is no answer comming back from the ip "23.21.172.122".
    Also I can't find the HP Color LaserJet MFP M570dw printer in the supported HP ePrint printerlist.
    The 400-series is supported, the 500-serie is not mentioned.
    But since the webinterface of my HP Color LaserJet MFP M570dw printer is giving me the HP Web Services configuration page, I asumed this type would be supported too...
    Does anyone have a clue how to get ePrint working on the HP Color LaserJet MFP M570dw printer?
    Is there anyone who got the HP Web Services working on a HP Color LaserJet MFP M570dw printer?
    Kind regards,
    Rene.

    Hi Rene,
    Have you tried updating its firmware version?
    The latest firmware should improve the web services connectivity and may help resolving such an issue:
    http://h20565.www2.hp.com/portal/site/hpsc/template.PAGE/public/psi/swdDetails/?sp4ts.oid=5210913&sp...
    Also be sure to follow its steps which may help resolving a connection issue:
    • Improvements made for connecting to HP Web Services.
    NOTE: After updating from firmware datecode 20121002 to firmware datecode 20121019, if a connection to HP's Web Services cannot be established a Security Reset should be performed. Use the following steps to perform a Security Reset.
    1. At the printer's touch screen control panel press the wrench & gear icon (Setup menu) at the top of the touch screen.
    2. Using the scroll arrows on the right side, scroll until Network Setup appears then press Network Setup.
    3. In the Network Setup menu select Security
    4. Using the scroll arrows on the right side, scroll until Reset All Security appears and then press Reset All Security. Allow the reset to complete before attempting to connect to HP's Web Services.

  • Can't re-add printer after removing from eprint center - 'Web Services Problem'

    I have an HP Photosmart Premium C310 series printer (Model Number CN503B) which I have been using with ePrint for about 18 months. Aside from intermittent issues it has worked, I use a chromebook most of the time so rely on the ePrint option via Google Cloud Print.
    Last week it stopped working, with every job in the list showing as cancelled. Following advice on the forum I removed the email address of the printer from the eprint center. I thought it would then be simple to add the printer back. However, I have been unable to connect the printer to the web service so I cannot create the code I need to add the printer back.
    STEPS TO REPRODUCE:
    1. Factory reset printer settings
    2. Factory reset network settings
    3. Restart printer and Reboot router
    3. Settings -> Network -> Wireless Setup Wizard
    4. Choose correct SSID, enter password for WPA
    5. ‘Connected to Network’
    6. Settings -> Web -> Enable Web Services
    7. ‘Accept terms’ screen -> Accept
    8. ‘Checking for product updates’ screen shows briefly then returns to 'accept terms' screen
    9. Next it makes a ping sound and shows ‘Web Services Problem’ ‘Problem connecting to Web Services Server’, it then pings again a few seconds later (which ties in with what I see in the network logs as a second attempt)
    10. Log on to printer via web interface and set IP address of printer to manual IP outside DHCP range (as advice on other threads in this forum). Check DNS setting valid (same as gateway server which all other devices on network are also using successfully as DNS)
    11. Repeat steps 6 and 7 - still same error message
    I consider myself technically savvy and have followed all advice I can find on this forum including the following:
    1. reverting to printer and network defaults
    2. rebooting router
    3. assigning static IP address to printer outside of DHCP range of router
    4. connecting to printer via web interface and setting DNS to variously: same as gateway, google DNS (8.8.8.8), ISP DNS
    5. adjusting firewall settings on router to explicitly allow and log outbound connection on the HP ports (already had a rule allowing all outbound connections)
    As mentioned, the printer worked fine with ePrint previously so I suspect the ePrint server is rejecting a request from my printer for some reason, maybe because there is old / corrupt  data on the server regarding my specific printer.
    I’m logging outbound traffic from the printer and here are what the router logs show me (printer IP replaced with 192.168.x.x below, even though it is not public )

    Looks like both are HP sites: first is 'g4t2674.houston.hp.com' and the second secure one is ‘registration-pro-site2eprint.houston.hp.com’ which sound likely to be correct. That suggests the DNS is working but that the registration server doesn’t like the request for some reason.
    I had the printer registered for Google Cloud Print but I have now deleted that also and it doesn’t seem to have made any difference (assume it just formats and forwards to the HP ePrint email anyway).
    One hack that sheds some further light is to switch off wifi on the printer and then switch on ePrint. Eprint gives an error but stays set as 'on'. When I then switch wifi back on I can then at least check for product updates (it tells me I have the latest product updates). However, web services are still a 'no go'. Network traffic for that product update exchange looks like this:

    So clearly the printer can communicate to those servers well enough to find it has the latest firmware.
    I realise this is a lot of information but hopefully some of it is helpful for troubleshooting.
    Thank you in advance for any help!

    The issue disappeared this weekend. I didn't change anything so it must have been something server side. I notice others with the same issue have also seen it resolved.
    Thanks to all those who contributed and tried to help out. Although disappointed I went for a long time without ePrint I'm glad that action was apparently taken to resolve in the end.

  • Create adaptive web service model for a web dynpro project

    I have been trying to create a new new adaptive web service model for a web dynpro project.I am using the URL of the wsdl file to create the model. I have copied the url link of the wsdl from the overview tab of the web services navigator. The web service works fine when tested through the Netweaver Navigator. This web service has also been used successfully through the Visual Composer. But when I try to create a model for this web service URL, when I click the Next button after entering the URL in the model creation wizard  step 4 , I get "Error loading wsdl file. Check error log for details" Given below is the exception recorded in the error log: (Infact, I get this for all wsdl URLs)

    Hi Srikanth,
    My version was
    Version: 7.0.09
    Build id: 200608262203
    I was able to successfully import the model after I did the following
    1. Re intsall Studion (same version , same build)
    2. Reset the proxy settings to not use Proxy server
    Thanks for looking into it though...

    My environment:
    - JBuilder X
    - Weblogic Platform 8.1
    - Windows XP SP2
    Here are my steps of implementing web services:
    1. Write the Java code for the back-end components that make up the Web Service. Here's the method that handle the operation
    public String testName(InputParam test) {
    String inputName = test.getName();
    System.out.println("Input name:"+inputName);
    return "Hello "+inputName;
    Here's InputParam:
    public class InputParam {
    private String name;
    public InputParam() {
    public String getName() {
    return name;
    public void setName(String name) {
    this.name = name;
    2. Since I use JBuilder X I configure everything including handlers chain through web services designers
    3. Build project
    If nothing goes wrong, I will get generated client jars and a war file with web-services.xml inside.
    I have no problem when I implement RPC-style web services.
    I got the above error when I implement Document-oriented web services, but
    I have no problem when I use String as a parameter instead of InputParam class.
    I tried to change some attributes that might be relevant but got no luck.
    I've tried using clientgen command line as well but the result was the same.
    Below are the guidelines for creating document-oriented web services from the BEA's document that I think I already followed
    - The methods that implement each operation of the Web Service can have only one parameter. This single parameter can be of any supported data type. (The Weblogic web services toolkit support simple JavaBean, doesn't it?)
    - The methods that implement each operation cannot use out and in-out parameters. (I'm not sure about this one since I got Holder classes after using clientgen. However, there's no <param> tag in web-services.xml.)
    I found the old solution from support.bea.com (ID = S-25689), but I don't think my situation is the same. I got the error while building web services...not deploying a web service.
    Any answers to this question will be very much appreciated.
    George

    Reply, Should have mentioned this before, I can't even turn agp on.  I go into SMARTGART it shows AGP off, Fastwrites off.  If I move the AGP settings to 4x, 8x, it says I need to restart to apply. After the restart it just resets it back to off.
    get Driver Cleaner and remove curently ATI Drivers.
    reboot,
    get and install chipset Drivers: http://download.msi.com.tw/support/dvr_exe/mbd_dvr/VIA4in1_MB.zip
    reboot,
    then get and install ATI Drivers: https://forum-en.msi.com/index.php?topic=102839.msg761297#msg761297

  • HP LaserJet Professional P1102w won't print Web Services Information Sheet

    Hi there.
    I've spent the last frustrating three hours trying to get the Web Services Information sheet to print on this printer. I need this sheet in order to register for ePrint.
    I connect fine wirelessly on my computer to the printer. I have updated the firmware. Twice, to be sure.
    I have gone to HP Web Services and clicked Enable
    The message I then get is:
    "A Web Services information sheet will be printed. Review the sheet for important information."
    However, nothing prints.
    I have tried this process with the computer connected wirelessly through my network. I have tried it with the computer connected to the printer via USB. I have printed other things on the computer this way.
    I have tried rebooting the network and the printer and then reconnecting
    I have tried these steps:
    http://h30434.www3.hp.com/t5/ePrint-Print-Apps-Mobile-Printing-and-ePrintCenter/eprint-printer-code-...
    (I changed the preferred DNS from 10.0.1.11 and the alternate DNS from 8.8.4.4. to the values suggested)
    Afterwards, there was no change. My printer continued to print in every way possible. However, it will not print the Web Services Information Sheet.
    I'm very keen on getting my hands on this email so that I can register for ePrint. Can anybody help me? I would be hugely grateful.

    Sorry to hear you were unable to setup the wireless again on the p1102w.
    I have provided some steps in resetting up the p1102w on wireless network if you decide
    to do it again in the future.
    Reset the printer back to factory settings.
    (turn printer off then hold down the x and the wireless button while turning on the printer until the lights start blinking then release the buttons.
    Disconnect the usb cable from the printer.
    Disconnect the routers power cable for 10 seconds and then reconnect it again.
    Uninstall the p1102w from the computer.
    (open cd  and select uninstall or go to uninstall a program from the control panel.)
    Run the cd again or download depending what operating system you are running.
    Connect the usb cable when prompted to setup the wireless again.
    Enter passwords for the network when prompted.
    Disconnect the usb cable when prompted.
    Should be able to print out the test page now.
    Then you should be able to get the web services information sheet to print but will need to print out a self test on the printer to get the new ip address for the printer.

  • Cannot connect to Web Service to change IP address

    Already said, I have a LaserJet Professional P1606dn printer, had it for a while now. Someone sent a print job to it, nothing out of the ordinary, and all of a sudden, it printed that print job over and over. I checked in the print queue, nothing was there (not even on the server where the printer is stored). We save the printer settings and the driver on the print server and install it on machines through the server. We turned it off and waited a few minutes, then plugged it back in. It was okay until someone else sent a different print job. Started spitting out the print job from before (then one printing over and over). I did a factory reset on the printer. Needless to say, it changed the IP address (but did not change it to 192.168.x.x). It kept our domain's IP but the last number in the IP address changed. I figured the IP address would change and I was okay with that. Here's the problem: I printed a Configuration page with no issue and it gave me the IP address. However, when I try to log on to the printer via the Web Service (putting the IP address in a web browser), the page times out and says it can't be displayed. All I need to do is go in and change the IP address to a static IP address (back to the original IP address).  Under "Network Information," the status says "An unknown error has occurr" but the rest of the sentence/error is cut off. I'm not sure if it gives an error code or just stops with "occurred" or what. And unfortunately, the printer does not have a display screen so the only way I can change it is through the Web Services via a web browser. I've tried Google Chrome (my default browser) and Internet Explorer. Both browsers timed out and said that the page couldn't be displayed.

    Could be your network.  What I would do is connect the printer directly to a computer using a crossover cable.  I would recheck the ip address on the printer and make sure the computer has an address with the first 3 sets of number the same and the last digit on the computer 1 off from the one on the printer.  Then use the web browser on the computer to see if you can attach to the printer.  If you can you can then change the ip address to what you want.  Keep in mind most times when you have the issue you are having the issue is the driver and the computer sending the print job.  In other words the q may be empty but the printjob file in the windows subdirectory has not cleared.  Sometimes you have to go in and physically delete the printer.  It could be on the server, but sometimes it is on the local machine.

  • My Photosmart Premium C310 printer has lost Web services

    My printer worked perfectly with my PCs, iPad and for printing over the web for 8 months until a few weeks ago since when, after downloading a software upgrade it will only work with the PCs over my home network.
    A previous post led to some very complicated advice from HP about changing IP addresses which I have followed to the best of my ability (as an ordinary consumer user) but to no avail.
    I have reset the printer to factory settings but it still hasn't fixed the problem.  When I try to restart web services I get a message saying "problem connecting to web services server".
    I'd really appreciate some simple and effective advice as I only bought this thing for the web /e-print services.
    Thanks
