Reset provider-specific properties back to default

Hello community, I could use some quick help with something. I have changed the Description of an characteristic specific to a DSO (when in change mode in the DSO, right-click characteristic, select "Provider-specific properties", and change Description). I now want to reset that back to the default characteristic description.
I have tried clearing the value in Description, but that doesn't work. Any ideas how to do this?

if not yet the saved the DSO after changing description it will show old description.
after save the DSO it will show the new description.
you want old description again go to change mode -> give the old description -> save.

Experts,
I need to over-ride the naming for a navigational attribute in a multi-provider.
For non-navigational attributes you simply use the Provider-Specific Properties. This selection is not available for navigational attributes.
Is there a different way to apply alternative naming to navigational attributes in a Mult-Provider without affecting the global definition in the base cube.

How can i reset all bean properties to their default state.

I have a bean which i am using to store data throughout a users session until the data is extracted from the bean and put into the database at the last stage. What i would like to know is how i can reset all of my bean properties? I understand that i could go through each String property and sets its value to "" or null but there must bea an easier way. does anyone have any idea how to do this?

You can implement your own reset option (one methode that goes though and manually sets everything back to its original state) or you can dispose of the bean and create a new one.

HT1338 How do I reset the display setting back to default? My display is zoomed to one corner and the other 2 sides are cut off. I don't know how to fix it.

My baby nephew pressed a lot of the buttons on the my mac and has caused the display to zoom into one corner. It other two corners are cut off which makes it really difficult to use the computer. I attatched and image so that you can see what I am talking about. Please help, thanks ! =)

Hold down the Control key and scroll with the mouse or keyboard. One direction zooms the other unzooms.

Hi there!
For me it worked just by going to se16 and changing the records one by one. I wanted to modify the provider-specific properties and in specific the constant that restricts the infocube values and is used for logical partitioning (RSDICHAPRO-CHACONST) and it worked from there.

Provider Speicifc Properties on MultiCube and constant Selection in Query

Hi Experts
I are using BI 7.0, just upgraded to SP24 and having an issue with a MultiPrvider. All of this worked great before the upgrade. Here are the symptoms I am experiencing. This MultiCube has 2 InfoObjects where "Provider-Specific Properties" are set with a constant value.
1) If I display data on MultiCube I can only get consistent results if I chose for "Field Selection for Output" and select All SID fields. If I don't get any results if SID fields are not selected for display.
2) Query on on MultiCube has a Res. Key Fig. using constant selection on Infoprovider plus other Infoobjects. When I execute I get a dump with errors Brain 222 ( referencing the 2 objects that are set as constant on MultiCube, as well as Brain 635 . I have researched both have not yet found anything helpful. Query does execute if I take off the constant select on Infoprovider but then don't get results I want.
I have tried to re-activate MultiCube. I got warnings on CMP error and inconsistency and messages R7I 114, R7I 127 but activation was successful.
I would be very grateful for any suggestions.

As well when you display DATA, first of all
1. it ask you select necessary field before you go for FIELD OUTPUR FOR SELECTION
2. Overthere in SELECTION top menu, SELECT the second SELECTION menu, and select option "SELECT CHARACTERISTICS" which is the first one.
3. THen enter
4. now you go to the screen for FIELD OUTPUT FOR SELECTION, in that Select 4th option "SELECT ALL CHARACTERISTICS"
and then execute..
just give a try..
not sure how far it helps..
May i know the restriction which stops you running the query..?
try the constant selection on only one object and try...

Recent Updates reset my Mac back to defaults (Intel iMac)

On Wednesday (01 Mar) I did ran System Update and installed all updates for my 17" Intel Duo iMac, all appeared to go fine.
I'm not sure what happened today. First of all Safari crashed and I had to do a force quit. After that I ran Front Row for the first since the updates, watched a MPG movie (which took forever to load) and an iPhoto slideshow. Once I exited FrontRow my system was restored to its defaults.
All my iCal data was gone, all my widgets had gone and only the defaults were show. My dock had reverted back to defaults, the menu bar clock and location of icons were reset. Bluetooth was turned on again, when I started iTunes it did the whole you never used this application before and than went and searched my HDD for music.
I'm not sure what went on, my personal files were not deleted I don't think anyway, and all Safari bookmarks were maintained but the tabs and homepage were set back to defaults. I'm currently getting my Mac back to the way I like it. But something very wrong happened and it's a glitch which must be associated with the recent software update. I only got the Mac on Monday so the only software I have installed is what came with it.
Did anyone else experience similar problems?

After uninstall, reinstall, and reset, I cannot get Firefox back to defaults. How can I?

I successfully uninstalled Firefox. Then I reinstalled it. All the presets and addons were STILL there. Then I tried a reset. That only cleared my homepage, but all the addons and plugins are there. I want this to be back to default. How can i do that?

I completely understand your are not an employee. I'm not angry because the program doesn't work. I'm upset because contributors don't take the time to read my post before making suggestions that I've already tried.
To reiterate, I want Firefox to be back to defaults. Obviously there is a malware/spyware/virus problem. How do i get back to the defaults? I found and read all the Mozilla support posts about "resetting," and as I said, that does not work. So... (understanding my situation) how do I get back to the firefox defaults?

Help Problem NOT Solved Why have my system preferences suddenly started to reset back to default every time I reboot

Why have my system preferences suddenly started to reset back to default every time I reboot At first I thought it was happening because I disconnected my Google account, but now I've disable that account and switched to Firefox. I wasn't sure how my browser setting could have anything to do with my system preferences and now I think it's some glitch or missed setting that is causing the problem. Oh & I locked my preference panel and that did not help.
In addition to what I say above, not only are all my system preferences being reset to default, but also the preferences for word and Excel. I'm sure it's affecting other programs, but Word & Excel are the main ones that I have a lot of custom setting for. Especially annoying is the fact that my ribbon commands are reset. All this started happening when I signed up for a Google Drive account. The only system updates have been the usual security updates. I deleted my Google account but haven't uninstalled it. I'll try this, but I can't figure out how that would result in all OS preferences being reset.

How to: Resetting install location back to "Default Location..." (Windows 8)

I recently upgraded my PC and added an SSD as my primary drive. Like most people, I also have a secondary drive for most apps and files. In the Creative Cloud App manager, I changed the Installation location to a directory on my secondary drive. The problem was, Some applications I wanted on my SSD for performance reasons and there was no way to change back to the setting "Default location..." Because CC installs both a 32 bit and 64 bit version of some applications, I wanted to make sure that it put them in the correct "Program Files" or "Program Files (x86)" folders. After some poking about in the config files I finally found out how to do it.
(NOTE: The path below is for Windows 8 and possibly Windows 7, for other OS's it will likely be in a similiar path)
Close the Adobe Creative Cloud app (File > Quit)
Open this file in notepad: C:\Users\ExampleUser\AppData\Local\Adobe\OOBE\com.adobe.accc.apps.....prefs
Search through the text untill you find the install location that you set. Mine was "E:\Program Files\"
Delete only that path (leave the <) and then save the file.
Relaunch the Adobe Creative Cloud app
Then check the Install Location in Preferences. It should now be set back to "Default Location..."

For Mac OS X (Yosemite) I found you need to do the following:
1. Quit the Creative Cloud Application in the title bar.
2. Open Activity Monitor, find the Process named "Adobe Desktop Service". Click the stop sign icon with an "x" in it and select Quit to stop this process.
3. Edit the file ~/Library/Application Support/Adobe/OOBE/com.adobe.accc.apps.....prefs
a. Same as in the Windows case, find the line with "installLocation" and delete everything containing a file path between the following ">" and "<"
4. Restart Adobe Creative Cloud from /Applications/Adobe Creative Cloud/Adobe Creative Cloud

Resetting all specific user alerts to the global settings

Hello:
I would appreciate any help anyone can offer about this.
A while ago, I set the Action for a specific buddy (a sound notification for a particular 'event') because I wanted them to be different from the global setting on that particular occasion.
Now, I just want notifications for that specific buddy to behave just like all the rest, or in other words, I want to return him back to behaving in accordance with the global settings. I know I can update that particular buddy's settings to be the same as the global settings, but this is a real pain whenever I want to change the global settings, because I have to change those, then go in and change the settings for this buddy also, just to keep it all consistent.
Is there a way in iChat to reset all individual buddies' behavoirs so that they follow the global settings again and stop using the individual settings? I tried turning them off in the individual buddy's Actions, but that just turns off the notifications entirely for that buddy.

Interesting.
I was thinking that when you did the Get Info on the Buddy (after Highlighting) and went to the Alerts tab that you could set the thing(s) to None.
I know that you can turn Off all the tick boxes.
In fact on this this it seems to be the Answer.
Remove all the Ticks you have in any of the Play Sound boxes.
(you also have to check the top drop down for every action you may have set a Sound against.)
The other way is more "destructive"
Delete com.apple.ichat.plist
This sets all the iChat Preferences Back to Defaults (Font, Font Colour, Incoming overrides, Bubble Colour, Saved Transcripts, Menu Bar icon to list a few as well as any Sound/Alert choices and wiping the Buddy Specials and the Saved Status Messages.

Resetting user settings of views to default

Hi,
we are using ALBPM Enteprise 6.0 Mp5.
We have prepared our custom presentations to be used in custom views in the Workspace - meaning we have defined a specific set of columns that we want the user to see.
Some user have modified his presentation and saved it - thus now everytime he opens the custom view he sees different set of fields as we want him to, even after logout and login.
How can we force change of the presentation for the view to be back to default? To throw away his changes?
Can he somehow go back to the default presentation?

I have a simillar problem. The user changes his views and now, when he logs in, a javascript error is throwed and nothing appears on screen.
Did you make it? I need to reset the user custom layout either.
Someone knows how to do that?

ScriptUI: Change element back to default color

I have a script in which I am changing the color of StaticText, but later want to change it back to the default color. Is there a way to set it back to "default", or do I need to hard code in a color that is the same as the default? The problem is that hard coding in a number will no longer dynamically react to changes in the UI color.

Yep you're right.
I had the && for some purpose but made changes to the script so they became redundant.
In fact the script should remove the "if"s and be as follows. This will make sure the values are reset to undefined when they should.

Customize toolbar on Safari doesnt stick reopen and back to default!

I upgraded to safari 4 final on MAc Leopard. all updates but when I customize the toolbar it stays there fine till I exit safari and re open it. The icons appear for a split second then go back to default.
I tried rebooting but the customized tool bar wont stay there.

Might be a corrupted preference file. In the Finder, go to Your User Account>Library>Preferences folder. Move to the trash the com.apple.safari.plist file. Then, restart Safari. Preferences have now returned to default values. Reset any custom preferences and tool icons on the toolbar.
Let me know if the toolbar settings now stick.
