Reset the 7961 IP phone to factory defaults

Does anyone know how to reset the 7961 IP phone to factory defaults ?

maybe this will help. I found it on the internet but haven't got a change to test is.
You can perform a factory reset of the Cisco 7940, 7941, 7960, 7961 and 7970 phone by holding down "#" as it powers up (or resets), at which point you then dial 123456789*0#. This is useful for many types of recovery, especially when the phone is so disabled that it cannot enter Network Configuration to reset to factory default.

Attempting to restore Iphone 3 to factory deafalut, to finish "unlocking" the Iphone 5.
Moving the phone from one cellular carrier to another (in this case Rogers to Bell in Canada).
Rogers "unlocked" the phone on their end for $50.00, sent an email to Apple requesting serial # to be released from their network, and to provide "unlocked" status.
Next step was to restore phone to "factory default" in I tunes, and wait for phone to reset and show "unlocked" status.
Upon phone resetting in Itunes, after the "factory default", received the following error message"
"we are sorry, we are unable to unable to continue with activation at this time  Please try again, or contact customer service".
I contacted Apple customer service whom confirmed that the phone is showing as "unlocked" in their system.
New carrier that I am attempting to hook phone up states that the phone is still locked.
What is the solution or workaround?

    Hello mzpartia,
I found an article from Apple that specifically outlines how to try and troubleshoot this issue. It's called iPhone: Troubleshooting activation issues found here: http://support.apple.com/kb/ts3424.
    Resolution
Perform the following steps if you receive one of the messages above:
    Restart the iPhone.
Try another means of reaching the activation server and attempt to activate.
Try connecting to Wi-Fi if you're unable to activate using a cellular data connection.
Try connecting to iTunes if you're unable to activate using Wi-Fi.
    Restore the iPhone.
If you receive an alert message when you attempt to activate your iPhone, try to place the iPhone in recovery mode and perform a restore. If you're still unable to complete the setup assistant due to an activation error, contact Applefor assistance.
    Take care,
    Sterling

  • How do I reset my Windows 10 computer to factory defaults?

QuestionHow do I reset my Windows 10 computer to factory defaults?
AnswerNote: This article describes resetting a Windows 10 computer to factory defaults. You can read separate articles on performing something similar in Windows 8 or Windows 7.
A system reset will remove your installed applications and rebuild the Windows 10 system files.
You can choose whether you want to keep your files or remove everything.
If you choose to keep your files, your applications will be removed, system settings will be reset, and Windows files will be rebuilt. Your data and documents will remain intact on your computer.
If you choose to remove everything, your data and documents will also be removed.
To learn what other recovery options are available to you in Windows 10, read the following article:
What recovery options are available in Windows 10?
To perform a reset, follow these steps:
Open the Start Menu and select Settings.
Select Update & security and then Recovery.
Under Reset this PC, select Get started.
Choose either Keep my files or Remove everything. If you choose to remove everything, you might be given the choice of resetting all drives and partitions or resetting only the one on which Windows is installed. Choose the option you prefer. Not everyone will see this selection.
You might also see additional options depending on whether Windows 10 came pre-installed on your computer or if you upgraded to Windows 10. Choose the options you prefer and follow the prompts to complete the reset.
You can also watch this video explaining how to do this:

    Hi there,
A full factory reset may not be required. Try downloading and running the print and scan doctor located here:
    http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/document?docname=c03275041&cc=us&dlc=en&lc=en
It can fix a lot on its own and if not give a better idea of what is going on.
    Best of Luck!

  • How can I reset my web server settings to factory default without reinstalling the operating system?

I have a MacBook Air that has been upgraded over time from OS to OS. I'm currently running Yosemite.
I don't have any issues with the computer, it is running fine. Over the years, however, I've tinkered around with the server in different ways (the apache and php that shipped with OS X, MAMP, and with NGINX) and when I went to get back into some development it seems as though there's some conflicts.
What I'd love to do (assuming it is possible) is reset all of the web server's factory settings so I can just move forward from that point (Apache, PHP, MySQL, etc.).
I saw there was a terminal command for OS X Server that allows you to reset all of the server settings to how it came from the factory.
Is there a similar command that works for non-OS X Server or a utility that can restore the web server settings?

there probably is a way, but the success rate would be fairly low. you say you don't want to reinstall the OS, why? you know that reinstalling it keeps all your files and settings as they are, while resetting system files? (OS X Mavericks: Reinstall OS X)

I am asuming that you do not know the enable passwords to clear the config. Please follow the URL but when you get to step 9 enter Y(es) to start the configuration script.

If you do have the enable password, enter "write erase" at the enable prompt and reload unit.

  • Need help resetting the Surface Pro 3 Back to factory Defaults

Hey guys need some help.  I have a Surface Pro 3 we were trying to image.  No Luck.  We have given up for now and tryingto go back to factory defaults.  Luckily I made a restore USB before I did anything.  Here is the problem:
Somehow we screwd up the UEFI settings and it wont even find the drive.  I Keep changing the settings but everytime i go to "Reset Your PC" and repartition drives I get a "Unable to reset your PC. The system Drive cannot be found"
    message.
I See no clear way of setting it back to Factory Defaults but here is the Screen BIOS/UEFI screen settings
    Trusted Platform Module (TPM) Enabled
    (Tried Both No luck)
    Secure Boot Control Disabled
    (Tried Both No luck)
configure Alternate System Boot Order Network-USB- SSD
    (Tried both ways no luck)
Configure External Ports -All ports enabled.

Yes you can. From CLI of Mars:
    [pnadmin]$ pnreset -h
    Usage:  pnreset or pnreset option.
Default. With no options pnreset restores the appliance to factory
defaults and purges all configuration and event data (certificate and
fingerprints stored to validate reporting devices, topology settings,
archived logs, and the license key information).
        -h  Displays this usage information.
-g  Removes the Global Controller data from a Local Controller, leaving
the Local Controller-specific data and the Global Controller
communication information untouched.  Use this option only after
a Global Controller crash or recovery.  In this case, "pnreset -g"
must be executed on every Local Controller that was monitored by
            the failed Global Controller.
-s  Removes the Global Controller communication information and resets
a Local Controller to standalone mode.  It removes the Global Controller
data and connectivity data from the Local Controller as well as the
default Controller zone information.  Use this option only after
a failed Delete of the Local Controller entry from the Global Controller
            "Local Controller Management" web page.
-o  Resets the tnsnames.ora file to factory default. The tnsnames.ora file
is required for the Oracle client to connect to the Oracle server.
-j  Resets the web server scheduler depending on Local Controller's
running mode. A restart of web server is enforced.
    [pnadmin]$ pnreset
Reset command will erase all data in database and reboot the machine.
Please type YES if you want to proceed:
    Hope this helps.

Placing your device into recovery (DFU-Device Firmware Upgrade) mode:
Follow these steps to place your iOS device into recovery mode. If your iOS device is already in recovery mode, you can proceed immediately to step 6.
       1. Disconnect the USB cable from the iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch, but leave the
other end of the cable connected to your computer's USB port.
       2. Turn off the device: Press and hold the Sleep/Wake button for a few seconds
until the red slider appears, then slide the slider. Wait for the device to turn off.
                  * If you cannot turn off the device using the slider, press and hold the
Sleep/Wake and Home buttons at the same time. When the device turns off,
release the Sleep/Wake and Home buttons.
      3. While pressing and holding the Home button, reconnect the USB cable to the
device. The device should turn on. Note: If you see the battery charge warning,
let the device charge for at least ten minutes to ensure that the battery has some
charge, and then start with step 2 again.
      4. Continue holding the Home button until you see the "Connect to iTunes" screen.
When this screen appears you can release the Home button:
      5. If necessary, open iTunes. You should see the following "recovery mode" alert:
      6. Use iTunes to restore the device.
If you don't see the "Connect to iTunes" screen, try these steps again. If you see the "Connect to iTunes" screen but the device does not appear in iTunes, see this article and its related links.
Note: When using recovery mode, you can only restore the device. All user content on the device will be erased, but if you had previously synced with iTunes on this computer, you can restore from a previous backup. See this article for more information.
