Reset to Blank Database for HTMLDB Workspace

HEllo,
Is there any way of reseting the workspace database, such that there are no database object on it? That is, a blank database for a HTMLDB Workspace?
Presently, I have a workspace on http://htmldb.oracle.com/pls/otn/
I want to test upload different applications, and I want to be able to delete all previous database object, so I have a clean, blank, empty state.

Colin,
There is no button or place in HTML DB where this can be automatically performed.
However, you can write a script to drop all of your database objects in the SQL Workshop.

Apex is installed in a database. You can use objects in other databases via database links.
Not entirely sure what you are asking - maybe you should be a little more clear as to the question you are asking... you may get more response.

Service accounts for the Workspace Database service permission Error while creating Tabular Mode from PowerPivot

Hi All,
Please help me out against this issue. I have spent so much (3 working days) time just figuring out what is the issue and its solution.
I am learning Tabular Mode and trying to create a mode based on PowerPivot model. I am getting following error message:
'The PowerPivot workbook could not be imported. The service account for the workspace database server does not have permission to read from the PowerPivot workbook.'
Here is my infrastructure:
1. SSAS in Tabular Mode is installed on my Windows 8 Laptop
2. PowerPivot is also in my laptop
3. There is only my account (as Admin of course) for SSAS
Here are my questions:
1. What is this error and how can I cope with that? A step by step explanation would be highly appreciated :-)
2. Do I need to change something in Windows settings or in SSAS?
3. I am confused about my workspace database server as well, Do I have to install SSAS twice; one for development and one for workspace?
Looking forward for the expert advise.

Multiple schema for a (workspace) user

If I use XE and create a database user from the homepage/admin as system I get ( compared to an HTMLDB2.0 instance in an SE/EE-environment) a user with its workspace (the admin for this workspace). This user has his own schema and if he is logged in he can create application-users (HTMLDB-Users in this workspace).
(1) But how can I add more than one schema to this workspace?
I create a user TEST as system. got user TEST with schema TEST.
I have a database schema (only database schema) DEMO and want assign this so that the (htmldb)User TEST can create applications based on the schema DEMO (thats possible in HMLDB2.0 with SE/EE).

I believed thats an restriction - but want to get an official statment from development... -> SCOTT?
I know the basic workaround and then have to consider any changes in the mixed structure.
It makes sense to have data separated in different schemas and have only one workspace for bundling different applications, because of same securityInterface,
UserInterfaceDefaults... (easy delivering for departments, customers).
If the restriction exist (for newbies makes it easier to understand htmldb&oracle),
we have to accept.

HTMLDB workspace not recognising existing schema - help!

This thread is a spinoff from this thread (Hosting an Oracle XE db on the web?
I am trying to use HTMLDB Workspace to upload my Oracle database and its web pages onto the internet for my university project. However, when I get to the schema name I give my username for an existing schema, and the schema is not recognised. Why is this?
How can this be fixed and what is the cause?
BTW I am using Oracle XE if this matters.

It appears you first need to better understand how HTMLDB works because what you're asking for is simply impossible (unless your target host has an Oracle database with HTMLDB installed already)...
The pages you create in HTMLDB (which make up your application) are not static, but they get created dynamically through PL/SQL inside the database engine. So it's impossible to just upload them to any kind of web server, as it is impossible to just just "send the db" - Oracle is nothing like Access ;-)
As Robert already mentioned, you may be stuck because your schema GA_Airways does not exist on htmldb.oracle.com (which is logically if you think about it, or better say unless anybody else had already created a schema with that name...).
However - it's not that complicated after all:In order to bring your application online there, you need to
a) successfully request a workspace - make sure you do not choose "existing schema" but rather "new" and it should work without problems. You don't need to worry about the schema name that will be provided, it really doesn't matter.
b) create the tables you need for your app inside your new workspace
c) if needed, upload your data to the tables
d) import your application (which you exported before on your local installation)

Error Message when installing Companion CD for HTMLDB 1.6 and HTTP Server

Hi. First time forum user so bear with me.
I'm not sure if this is the correct forum for this but the assistance of anyone who may be able to shed some light on the problem whould be greatly appreciated. I am having a problem when attempting to install the Companion CD for HTMLDB 1.6 and HTTP Server, details given below:
The following Oracle components have been successfully installed
     Oracle 10gR2 Database.
     Oracle 10gR2 Database patch 10.2.03.
     Critical patch up date (security).
The following Oracle component failed to install.
     Companion CD for HTMLDB 1.6 and HTTP server
Scenario leading up to failure
     Extracted companion CD installation files to D:\oracle\utilities\Oracle_10_2_0_Companion
     Executed D:\oracle\utilities\Oracle_10_2_0_Companion\companion\setup.exe.
The following error message is displayed in a "JAVA VIRTUAL MACHINE LAUNCHER" dialog box
     "Could not find the main event class. Program will exit."
I have been attmepting to resolve this problem for over a week and have already checked the following with no resolution to the problem:
Cause. This issue may have to do with two issues (and may occur more on Windows):-
1. Within the ORACLE_HOME directory full pathname there is a space.
2. The directory from where the software / patch is being installed has a space within the directory full
pathname (where the file for the installation by default is named products.jar or products.xml).
Solution. To implement the solution, please execute the following steps:-
1. Rename the full pathname directory NOT to contain a space.
2. Launch again the OUI... and verify if the problem occurs.
Any further guidance would be greatly appreciated.

Can you install using OUI from the RDBMS installation? IIRC, there is a problem using OUI on companion to install companion items.

settigns>itunes and app store to make sure you are signed in.. If you are, you will see your account name..... anyhow, click your account name, sign out and sign back in
also go to to settings>general>reset and reset network settings... if that doesnt work settings>general>reset and reset all settings!

I downloaded Aperture and now I'm getting a "There was an error opening the database for Library " and I can't do anything else. How can I fix it so I am once again able to run Aperture?

I Downloaded Aperture from the Apple Website then proceeded to download all my picture's frp, IPhoto. The very next time I opened Aperture an error poped up stating, There was an error opening the database for Library "blank". I can't do anything with the program but hit the cancel buttom which closes the program. How do I fix it?

Is "blank" the name of your Aperture Library? If not, then Aperture is pointing to the wrong Library. Hold down the option (⌥) key while you launch Aperture by clicking it in the Applications Folder. Then select the correct library and press the "choose" button.
If that does not help, try to repair your library:
Locate Aperture library in Finder. Holding down the keys option (⌥) +command (⌘) and double click on Aperture Library to show the First Aid dialogue:
Then try to start Aperture again. If that also should fail, try the other steps in Aperture 3: Troubleshooting Basics: http://support.apple.com/kb/HT3805

Hi Taruni,
You can connect to the database connection for all the reports through workspace in HFM.
Connect to HFM Workspace-->click on Explore option-->and click on Tools-->click on Data Base Connection Manager and change the respective connections from Production Instance to Test Instance with required information, and than you will be able to connect to Test database for all the reports at a time.

[solved] Blank screen for few seconds between GDM and Gnome-Shell

I don't know if this phenomenon is "normal" or not, so I ask : I am using Gnome 3.6 and after I have logged in on GDM I see a blank screen for roundabout 3 seconds before the gnome-shell starts. The whole system is running fine - so this is no "real" problem -, but this 3 seconds of a black screen between GDM and the gnome-shell are somewhat annoying and I want to find out if this behaviour is normal or not .
Indeed, if I look into journalctl, I find this messages:

Finally I found out what's going on - and it's so simple
It's just my monitor which is runing on a default resolution of 1920x1080. When I switched to 1600x900 using Gnome's system tools, the monitor needs roundabout two seconds to adjust to this resolution

Blank password for sa user in SQL server

i have already checked and confirmed that checkboxes in the SA login properties does not have a tick mark and also saved the properties window after leaving the password blank
but when I'm unable to login to the software that is being connected to the respective database in sql server, i find that a password has been assigned to the sa user
our application is not working if a password has been set for the sa user. please give me a solution to set a blank password for sa user and also to make sure that a password is not getting assigned automatically

IMP database for oracle 10G in window

Hi Experts,
I try to imp database from exp dump file.
I am new person.
When i create a blank database by Oracle 10G ( create general purpose database during install oracle).
Now I want to imp a database about 250G size.
DO I need to create a each tablespace in source DB before imp?
I have a full exp database dump file?
Can I directly imp a full exp dump files to copy source database?

Connection Reset Error with Database Polling

I am using DB adapter for polling records from the database. After polling I am doing physical delete for the records that have been polled. The polled record has a column for scheduledDateTime which is used to do scheduling for the process, using a Wait Activity.
Everything works fine in development environment but shows different behaviour in testing environment.
The records have been polled and is waiting at wait activity for time expiry. But even after time expires, the process is still in a waiting stage. When I checked logs for the process, this was the error given.

I thought the error is due to database connection, but as per DB team, the database is up and this error happens for some records and some records are successfully executed.

Nevermind, I found the problem. My school is incapable of finishing loading any sites through SSL, ever (without a proxy), and Twitter decided to lock my account to SSL without telling me. I just had to set FoxyProxy to use the proxy for https://twitter.com and it was fixed.
I suppose other programs could still load Twitter because they didn't have the cookies to stay in my account, which means they weren't redirected to https.

What's up with this? Aperture showed this error a couple times before quitting when I tried to open it.

I got the same error. Normally I would perform a Repair Database command by holding down Option-Command while launching Aperture, but that just gave me the same error without any options to repair the database.
Instead, I had to follow these instructions in the Aperture user manual. The key is to locate the Aperture library file on your hard drive and then hold Option-Command while double-clicking the Aperture library file.
Choose the REPAIR DATABASE option.

To repair or rebuild your Aperture library
Close Aperture, if it’s open.
Locate the Aperture library you want to fix, then hold down the Command and Option keys while double-clicking the Aperture library.
The Aperture Library First Aid dialog appears.
In the Aperture Library First Aid dialog, do one of the following:
To repair the permissions of the files within your Aperture library: Select Repairing Permissions.
This option should be used when Aperture can’t access some of the image files within the database or Aperture is unable to open the library itself. The Repairing Permissions option reviews each file in your Aperture library and sets the read and write access of each file where appropriate, allowing Aperture to access the files again.
Note: This option does not relocate referenced images whose master image files are offline. For more information about reconnecting offline images, see Reconnecting Missing or Offline Referenced Images.
To repair your Aperture library file: Select Repair Database.
This is the first option you should use if you believe there is something wrong with the Aperture library other than image file access issues.
To rebuild your database from scratch: Click Rebuild Database.
This option should be used as your last measure as it can be time-consuming for large image libraries. If you have tried repairing your database, and the issues you are encountering with your Aperture library still persist, you should use the Rebuild Database option. Aperture examines the library’s entire database and rebuilds each component until it reconstitutes your original Aperture library.
Depending on your selection, click Repair or Rebuild.
Aperture either fixes file permissions within the library or repairs or rebuilds the library, and then opens the application workspace.
