"Reset using the summary tab".....there IS no summary tab!!!
iTunes keeps telling me to restore the settings on my iPod using the summary tab because it can't read my iPod. There IS no summary tab on my iTunes, and I DO have the latest version. Can someone please help?
the "summary tab" (if you have the lastest version, itunes7) should come up automatically when you connect you ipod to to your computer. if it doesn't try this:
connect you ipod to your computer
if itunes deosn't auotmaticaly open up, open itunes
click on your ipod's name next to the ipod icon
a picture of your ipod should appaer with deatails next to it (the summary page)along with buttons like update and restore
that should be it and i hope my advice wasn't confusing for you
if you have problems getting your ipod to connect to your computer try reading some of the other topics in the forum for more info.

When I try to open a new tab using the "+" on the toolbar, nothing happens. Even trying to use the cntl t to open a new tab does not work. To open a new tab, I must right click on a hyperlink. how can I correct this? Using Firefox 3.6.18
The Ask Toolbar is causing that in the Firefox 3.6.13+ versions. Uninstall that extension.
There are a couple of places to check for the Ask toolbar:
* Check the Windows Control panel for the Ask Toolbar - http://about.ask.com/apn/toolbar/docs/default/faq/en/ff/index.html#na4
* Also check your list of extensions, you may be able to uninstall it from there - https://support.mozilla.com/kb/Uninstalling+add-ons -
I have an ipad mini that won't power on. It was turned off to charge overnight. In the morning it was warm and now won't turn on no matter what I do. I've tried resetting using the power / home button combination and nothing works.
If you have owned the device, as in purchased from Apple, less than a year then there will be no charge to repair, or most likely, replace the device. If you have had the device more than a year you will be charged an out of warranty cost for replacement ($219 I think) and that is much cheaper than a new device. If you have Applecare+ then you have an additional year of coverage and the replacement will be $49 or $79 depending on when you got the Applecare.

With multi tabs open I go to close Firefox 5.0 and it will not keep the tabs there it closes all tabs so when I restart I have to re-open the tabs. I was using 3.6 firefox and had the option to close but keep the tabs so they would open when I re-started firefox.

I have graphical errors on the browser edges when i use the right click menu and close out tabs.
Ok I will try to explain this the best way I can as I'm not sure what to call it. But simply put, if I have FF4 open, sometimes I get a graphical glitch on the edge of the window. It seems to always occur when I right click near the edge of the browser window, then close out that current tab. A small part of the context menu remains on the screen. Here is a screenshot:

notice the section in the lower right hand part of the browser. That's the leftover context menu in the edge of the window. There is also a section on the bottom of the browser as well. I didn't plan on that one, and have no idea why it is there. I had no menu open there. Anyone every see this before?You can also use ctrl-T or File > New tab (if you have the menubar showing). I can't find an extension that will help you bring back the previous behavior but there probably will be one soon.

Using a. Airport express to stream from iTunes. My Router is a Netgear type G. The express sets up fine and works the first time. When I try to use it at a later date after closing then reopening iTunes I have to physically reset the express and then go through the process of finding it again. Is this normal?
I have a 3rd generation (802.11n capable, 2.4Ghz only) airport express, my problem is that I've tried using it to extend my network and that brick wall, no matter how close I get the express to the room, the signal and throughput in that room becomes abysmal.
As you might imagine, brick is a lot like cement, and it will not allow much of the wireless signal through.
Regarding your Express, there is no such thing as a 3rd Generation model....yet. You likely have a 1st Generation AirPort Express. Check and confirm the Model No on the side of the Express. A 1st Gen model is A1264.
Here's my problem, I don't think the express supports "extending" a network from a wired network jack.
The Express can "extend" wirelessly, or using an Ethernet connection. The configuration for this is very simple, but post back if you need it.
The jack just seems to be shut off
Have you temporarily turned off the wireless on a laptop and tried to connect it using an Ethernet cable to the wall jack as a "test"?
If you can get a good Internet connection this way, then you know the Ethernet cabling and jack are working correctly.
On the other hand, if you cannot get an Internet connection on the laptop during this "test", then this indicates that the Ethernet cable or jack is not functioning correctly and the wiring will need troubleshooting before you can proceed any further.

I have one iPhone 8GB. After making un upgrade of iTunes and software of iPhone, it's impossible to use it. There's no service! doesn't acept PIN code! it only makes emergency calls and the image in the iPhone is the sign to connect to iTunes. What can i do to solve it?
Where are you and where did you get the phone. This sounds like a classic symptom of someone who bought an iPhone that originated in the U.S. which was then hacked so it would run on a carrier network other than AT&T... Then, when updating the phone, it becare re-locked to AT&T.
If that's what happened, you now own a paperweight. AT&T will NOT unlock them for any reason.
If this isn't the case, please clarify where you are, what carrier you have and where you got the phone so we can begin troubleshooting. -
I made a mistake some how. I am not the best a computer new things like the new avg changes with the search. I want back my old menu bar. I want to be able to open a new tab without having a search window open. I don't like to new tiny "file at the top it doesn't help me. I want back the ability to click the little refresh button. How do I go back to what I had before??

Formerly, an e-mail with a website, photo, etc. attachment that I opened required only that I click close tab return to my e-mail message. Since upgrading a few days ago, the only option present is to exit, which now requires re-opening firefox then my e-mail browser. Any website I am examining that I want to close automatically exits me from Firefox.
there should be an X on the right side of each tab. clicking on it should close that tab
