Reset your Apple ID requests ALL THE TIME

OK look I recognize that you are a company so big that your revenue surpasses that of most pissant countries in the world, but ya know what? The Chinese have hacked in and jacked over $300 in iTunes gift cards from my mother, who refuses to accept that I only have an iTunes ID because she keeps giving me gift cards. I have a password that is not only a phrase in a foreign language with a foreign alphabet phonetically spelled in english with capital letters and alpha numberic and whatever those shift-icon numbers are. Regardless, I keep getting password reset emails (which Google has finally deemed SPAM) in my mailbox because it literally will never stop. I used to be ****** that customer service only refunded one transaction from my account for things like:

Which is clearly something I love and need four copies of. (and yes those are all copied and pasted from different receipts)
At this point I refuse to have my credit card (god forbid) associated with the account or continue doing any business with Apple simply because you can't keep chinese hackers out of our accounts.  But now I'm wondering if i actually need a crap email address just to stop hearing about how some worthless ex-gold farmer is trying to reset my password.
I don't own anything made by Apple except their router (which I admit is amazing) but I just got married to an apple fan and expect this nightmare to persist. Any ideas how to thwart this annoyance before I permanently close this account and start a new one which I'm undoubtedly going to have 1/2 responsibility for?

  • ICloud password requested all the time

    Good morning,
From 2 weeks now, my iPhone doesn't stop asking my iCloud password every 10 minutes. When I enter it, nothing happens, no warning, nothing.
And I realized that I was disconnected from my iCloud from 2 weeks, so no iPhone backups and no picture backups... And my shared photostreams (flux de photos in french, I'm not sure of the english word) are no longer updated.
Curiously, that same password is still working when I want to download an App or access to iTunes... And more curiously, iCloud and shared photos are still working on my Macbook Air...
What can I do, except enter that password again and again, hoping it'll work some day?
    Thanks for your help,
    Oliver

I have the same problem because I changed the email address associated with my iTunes (Apple ID) account from my work email to my personal email. Later I created a work Apple ID using the email address that USED to be on my Apple ID. All was fine until my phone and iPad started asking me to sign in. All it showed was the old (work email address). I tried to delete/log out of Cloud so I could sign back in with the correct account, but it needs a password for the work email (old) version of Cloud. I tried the password I used to use with that email. No go. Then the new password used with the Apple ID that's now associated with that device. No go. Then the NEW password that's associated with the work Apple ID that uses the work email address it's prompting me for. Still no go.
Apple support was not helpful, said I had to call them from home so they could get onto my home computer. There MUST be a way of fixing this now (at work, with both iPad and iPhone).
    Thanks.

  • Have to give Apple ID password all the time. How can I stop it?

I have to give my apple ID pasword for iCloud about every time I unlock my iPhone5 (or just random when working on my phone). This since I updated to iOS8 a couple of days ago. How can I make it stop?
It doesn't matter if I cancel or give it. Everything seems to work anyway. Logging out of iCloud and then logging in again doesn't help.

  • I am getting a "how to reset your Apple ID" email over 25 times a day. It's been doing this for multiple days, and it's really irritating me. How do I stop it?

This is really irritating, and blocking the email would not help, as I may need to reset my ID.
But, I'm getting one of these emails every single minute...

  • HT5624 is there a way to reset your apple id without knowing the previous owners id

If that's not what you meant, please post back and clarify.

  • Safari quits all the time and will not relaunch! Any suggestions?

I can't Launch safari on my imac!  Every time i try I keep getting this error message....
    Can anyone help?

There is no need to download anything to solve this problem.
If Safari crashes on launch and you don't have another web browser, you should be able to launch Safari by starting up in safe mode.
You may have installed the "Genieo" or "InstallMac" ad-injection malware. Follow the instructions on this Apple Support page to remove it.
Back up all data before making any changes.
Besides the files listed in the linked support article, you may also need to remove this file in the same way:
    ~/Library/LaunchAgents/com.genieo.completer.ltvbit.plist
If there are other items with a name that includes "Genieo" or "genieo" alongside any of those you find, remove them as well.
One of the steps in the article is to remove malicious Safari extensions. Do the equivalent in the Chrome and Firefox browsers, if you use either of those.
After removing the malware, remember to reset your home page in all the web browsers affected, if it was changed.
If you don't find any of the files or extensions listed, or if removing them doesn't stop the ad injection, then you may have one of the other kinds of adware covered by the support article. Follow the rest of the instructions in the article.
Make sure you don't repeat the mistake that led you to install the malware. Chances are you got it from an Internet cesspit such as "Softonic" or "CNET Download." Never visit either of those sites again. You might also have downloaded it from an ad in a page on some other site. The ad would probably have included a large green button labeled "Download" or "Download Now" in white letters. The button is designed to confuse people who intend to download something else on the same page. If you ever download a file that isn't obviously what you expected, delete it immediately.
In the Security & Privacy pane of System Preferences, select the General tab. The radio button marked Anywhere  should not be selected. If it is, click the lock icon to unlock the settings, then select one of the other buttons. After that, don't ignore a warning that you are about to run or install an application from an unknown developer.
Still in System Preferences, open the App Store or Software Update pane and check the box marked
Install system data files and security updates (OS X 10.10 or later)
    or
Download updates automatically (OS X 10.9 or earlier)
    if it's not already checked.

  • I keep having request for ITunes to log in, that is not my account name. I have never used that account. It pops up all the time, and it stops everything that I am working on. How can I get rid of that prompt?

I am having trouble with an ITunes I'd request to log in that is not my ITunes ID. E request pops up all the time. It stops the app or net site every time. Like I said it is not my ID. How can I stop or delete this ID?

Go to Settings>Store>Apple ID. What ID is in the settings. Tap on that ID to change it. Sign Out. Sign in with your own ID. After you sign out with the incorrect ID, restart the iPad before you sign into your correct account.
Restart the iPad by holding down on the sleep button until the red slider appears and then slide to shut off. To power up hold the sleep button until the Apple logo appears and let go of the button.
Go to Settings>Store and sign in.

  • Error message we could not complete your itunes store request. The network connection was reset. Make sure your network connection is active

Can Anyone help with this message which occurs when I am trying to update my iMatch, it says "gathering information about your library" & then after a few mins when the progress band gets almost to the end, I get the message "we could not complete your itunes store request. The network connection was reset. Make sure your network connection is active & try again"
Support has told me that its a problem with my connection, but I disagree, how come I can download countless songs from iTunes without ever getting this message, I think they are bullsh***g me to get rid of me.
I have even followed their advice & totally disabled all my antivirus, adwatch & firewall software & it still does it.
    Can anyone help with this

Hi mate, well I really dont know why but last night it started to work out of the blue, you might want to check yours again as they may have fixed a bug??
I did absoultely nothing different yesterday to make it start working, I had previously disabled all my antivirus, firewall, anti tracker etc etc & it didnt sort it.
The only thing that happened yesterday was my laptop went dead flat & I had to a reboot (dont choose System Resume, which I normally do) I chose the other option in error & had to wait nearly an hour whilst my PC "repaired files etc" & it also downloaded a load of updates (had that message "dont power off, as updates are in progress")
I really dont know if that sorted the issue or Apple fixed the bug yesterday but its working.
    Good luck

  • IPod Touch 4th keeps reseting all the time!!

Hey everybody! I really hope that you guys can help me..
I was trying to exclude an app and then I decided to reset my ipod touch 4th. Now, it keeps reseting all the time by itself! The ipod don't turn off or even less turn on.. What can I do??

    - Connect the iPod to your computer. If iTunes sees the iPod then restore the iPOd.
    - Next see if recovery mode will allow iTunes to see the iPod so your can restore it.  For recovery mode see:
iPhone and iPod touch: Unable to update or restore
    - Then try DFU mode
How to put iPod touch / iPhone into DFU mode « Karthik's scribblings
    - Then, let the battery fully drain and then charge and try again.
    - Last, make an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store.

  • I reset SMC and now fan is running high all the time

I reset the SMC after finding info on here about the built-in iSight not working. Once it came back up the iSight is working, but the fan is on high all the time. I'm not sure what to do with this. History prior to resetting SMC: I hadn't used the camera since the hard-drive was replaced in October. However, my kids have used it to video chat via stickam with no problems yet iChat and Photo Booth wouldn't recognize the internal camera (System Profiler could see the camera). So I tried the fix I found on here - resetting the SMC. It fixed iSight but now the fan is on high all the time. Any thoughts on what I should do next?
If you need more info on the iMac - I can supply that later as I am away from that computer at the moment. Here is what I do know - 20" white iMac

Hi, an SMC reset is one of the things usually recommended as a possible fix for loud fans, not the cause. There are a few troubleshooting steps to take, but you'd be better off posting in the Intel iMac Forum. You are in the iMac G5 Forum. You have a newer computer. They'll try to help you over there.
EDIT I'm basing this on your SMC reset, which would indicate an Intel Mac. Sure it wasn't a PMU reset?

  • HT204406 How do you get your albums from itunes match to STAY on your iPhone rather than having to download them EVERYTIME you want to listen to them? This is tedious and takes up a lot of time. I just want to have iMatch to keep things synced all the tim

Unable to transfer a complete album and only 2 songs appear in iTunes. This is from a purchased CD which was uploaded to my private music collection to use in iTunes.
Unable to keep the songs on iPhone without having to download them all the time. There are albums that apear but greyed because I have to re-download them. It is very nerve racking.
Unable to keep the files edited properly. Such as New York Dolls when it is supposed to be The New York Dolls.
So far, these are the problems I have been running across. No matter which I used to sync or to use iMatch it does seem to have me do a some of the actions over. This does not even cover the rating. It should keep all your settings and not selective.
So I really could use the help. Thank you.

I take it this isnt somewhere where apple reps reply?
No. This is a user-to-user forum, where your fellow users help you. Since those users may be on the other side of the world to you, it may take a while before anyone responds. Occasionally, Apple employees do respond, but that is the exception and their responses will usually direct you to articles that they think will help you.
So, since I have not yet installed iTunes 11.2, I'll go out on a limb and assume that things haven't changed that much.
On the Device/Summary pane is the option to Sync only ticked songs and videos. Is that option still on?
