Reseting the date and time on photosmart 5510

Having replaced the internal battery, the date and time on scanned items to memory card is giving 1st january 2001.how can i reset this.

Hey @dube55,
I am aware that your Photosmart model does not have a fax. Because I do not have a Photosmart 5510 here and have no access to the Embedded Web Server I gave you the generic tab options. My apologies for the confusion.
The Date and Time option under the Embedded Web Server for your printer should be located under Settings or Tools. It may be under a sub-menu on the left hand side, such as System or Preferences. Feel free to click on the options to explore what you are able to alter on your machine.
If you still do not see a Date and Time option we will need to run a Power Reset on the printer. Doing so should prompt you to enter the date and time when reconfiguring your printer. If this fails, we may need to run a Factory Restore.
How to Perform a Hard Reset:
Turn your printer ON
With the printer ON disconnect the power cable from the rear of the printer for 30 seconds
Plug the power cable back in
The printer should start back up on its own
Once the printer returns to the ready state, try another scan to verify if the time and date stamp is correct
Should the issue persist, please proceed with the reset below.
How to Restore Factory Defaults:
Turn your printer ON
Touch the right arrow button until you see Setup (wrench)
Touch the Setup button
Select Tools
Select Restore Factory Defaults
Choose Yes
Once the Restore is complete your printer should start back up and may prompt you to enter the date and time.
Please let me know if these steps work for you. Best of luck!

  • Resetting the date and time after the phone has be...

    Hi,
I keep having to reset the date and time very time I turn my phone off. I was thinking it was to do with the battery so I fully charged it, turned it off then turned it on again and it asks me for the date and time.
I only noticed this because I've had exams and I have to turn my phone off for them.
Could it be a dying internal battery?
I know with computers there's a BIOS battery that controls date and time. When they start to die the date and time are inaccurate.
I'll have to find time to take it to the 3-Mobile shop either on Sunday or sometime next week if it is an internal battery problem.
    Thanks,
    Omar

    Hi omar3256
I believe that there is a very small component on the motherboard which serves this purpose, although whether battery or sort of capacitor I am not certain. The N80 especially seemed to be prone to this failure.

  • My macbook pro keeps crashing and resetting the date and time

I'm having a problem with my 2010 Macbook pro(ios6.1) with crashing. After it happens I need to reset the date and time. I also have a problem with iphoto, the program won't open. I have reintalled it serveral times and after the update it won't open just the circulating circle appears. I'm running on Mac OS X version 10.6.8  If any one can help it would be greatly appreciated. D.D.D

If you have to reset the date and time, it may be that there is a power interruption.  I would try a SMC reset.

Applecare Senior Advisor Txx Bxxx (I have his contact info in an email he just sent) just confirmed with me that the problem people are having with the App Store not loading is an apple issue with there servers, ITS NOT YOUR IPAD so don't go restoring it!   It's not happening to everyone however but they are looking into it, its really hit or miss.

Try this first - Reset the iPad by holding down on the sleep and home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider - let go of the buttons.
This works for some users. Not sure why.
Go to Settings>General>Date and Time> Set Automatically>Off. Set the date ahead by about a year. Then see if you can connect to the store.

  • My laptop died last night and the date and time was set for 1/1/2000. I went to change the date and time and cannot. For some reason when i pull up system preferences it will not load date and time but will load other stuff. Please help.

Last night my laptop died and the time and date was reset. I cannot acess date and time preferences to change it and my laptop is acting really weird. My CD drive is broken so there are no options to put in a cd. Please someone help i need my laptop for school and cannot afford another.

Many system actions will misbehave, given an inaccurate date. Resetting the NVRAM and / or SMC will not fix it, and if the system has a preposterous date you may not be able to open System Preferences to correct it. This dilemma may or may not be addressed in a future OS X update.
If you cannot open System Preferences you can reset your system date and time using Terminal.
Please read everything that follows before proceeding. Write them down if necessary because the effects of setting a preposterous system date are unpredictable.
Quit System Preferences, force quit if necessary: OS X: How to quit an unresponsive application using Force Quit
Open Terminal - it is in your Utilities folder and looks like this
You can find Terminal by using the Finder's Go menu and choosing Utilities, then double-click the Terminal icon.
At the prompt, you will be typing a command resembling the following:
    sudo date mmddhhnnyyyy
... but you must substitute the actual date and time in the command that corresponds to the date format used for your location. In other words if your custom is to use a date like 8 February 2014 then reverse the mm and dd values.
Substitute numerals in the above command according to the following:
    mm = month
    dd = date
hh = hour (24 hour format)
nn = minutes past the hour
    yyyy = year
Each of those values must be two digits except for the year which can be two or four digits. As an example if the current date and time is February 8, 2014 at 9 PM your command will be the following:
    sudo date 020821002014
    or
    sudo date 0208210014
Either one will work. If you enter nonsensical values the system will attempt to parse the entry correctly.
To recover from your inability to use System Preferences to set the date and time, the value entered does not have to be precise, it just has to be approximate.
Enter that command using the actual time and date for your location and in the appropriate format, then press the Return key. Terminal will ask for your Admin Password - the same one you use when you log in to your Mac. Type it and then press the Return key. What you type will not appear, not even with •••• characters.
To determine if your change was effective just type the date command and press the Return key. Terminal will reply with the date and time. If it appears correct and in the correct format, you should be able to open System Preferences > Date & Time once again. Selecting the "Set time and date automatically" and choosing an appropriate time server will adjust your Mac's system clock to the precise time.

  • How do you change the date and time

how do i changethe time and the date on  hp photosmart plus B210 all in one series

In most printers you go to the setup icon on the display, and then to either tools or preferences. In one of those menus there will be an option to adjust the date and time.

My account keeps asking for Region but the drop down menu lists Cities in China. I can,'t cange the region in my account because it asks me to check the date and time but these are correct. Any answers please?

Look, I understand I still need a card attached to the account. The problem is, it won't accept my card because I only have 87 cents in my bank account right now.
If I had known there would be so much trouble with the iTunes card, I would have just put the cash in my bank account in the morning instead of buying an iTunes card (I didn't expect the banks to be open on Thanksgiving of course).
Apple will only accept cards that have a balance. The balance is so small in my account that it won't accept it as a valid card.
I'm going to have to contact Apple anyway to reset the security questions. That's obvious. Your answers were not exactly helpful. You didn't tell me anything I don't already know, but thanks for trying to be helpful.

  • HT3180 The date and time on my Apple TV is not setting, anyone that can help me? Please!

I can't get the date and time to set up on the Apple TV, how can I fix this problem? I tried restarting and that's not helping.

    Hi Jhoana82,
    Welcome to the Support Communities!
I would suggest you unplug the Apple TV for thirty seconds to restart it, then restore it to the factory settings.
Click on the links below for more details and screenshots ...

You can also reset your Apple TV by unplugging it from the power source for thirty seconds.
Apple TV (2nd and 3rd generation): Restoring your Apple TV
On Apple TV, choose Settings > General > Reset, and then click Restore.
Your Apple TV will restore to its factory settings, and will also download and install the latest Apple TV software update. This process may take some time. Do not disconnect your Apple TV's power cable during the restore process.
I hope you are back up and running with your Apple TV soon!

  • Help... Bug in the Date and Time ?!

Hello... I have BB Z10 that I bought it a year ago, and very satisfied for my decision to change my Torch into Z10 so far. Recently I have upgrade its OS to the latest one, and I'm quite happy to see myany improvement in it. But after a while, i just realize something strange with my Z10, which I don't know is it really a bug or not? I'm just a loyal user of BB and have no capability in Dev sectors.
    The problem is :
Everytime I shutdown my BlackBerry, It's clock always change. why it happens? is it really abug?
First of all, in Date and Time setting, I set my Z10 timezone to my home time zone. And I *set off* the Auto Update Time Zone since i have to work many times to places with different time zone of my home city... and I still want my Z10 to show my Home City Time Zone rather to the place where I stayed for temporary.
Secondly, sometimes I must Shutdown my Z10, according the rules where I worked. So It's no option at all for setting it to Airplane mode.
Thirdly, sometimes I always shut my Mobile Service, and change it to Wifi Connection where available. I do it so I can spare my battery life, since in my workplace, sometimes there's no electricity at all, and many times i forgot to bring my charge when i go to town with electricity.
So... again, everytime i turn on my Z10, the date is always change... and i couldn't recall, is it the time before i'm upgrading my latest OS.
So, if this is a bug, i hope RIM dev can fix this in the next OS Update. Some other my phone (sucha as Nokia, Samsung, Android, and even my Company Satphone) doesn't have this problem.
If this is not a bug, what can I do so my Date and Time is not change?
FYI, as I said before, I CAN NOT set on Auto Update Time Zone, since I LIKE my Z10 to stay in my home zone so it's easier for me to see what time in my home. I've already have to set Date and Time Automatically Bar to *On Position* 9even I don't know for sure what is used for), but when I restarted why Z10, the Date and Time was changing again. Meanfile my Time Zone still the same, to my Home Time Zone. So what exatcly the Set Date and Time Automatically option really use for? My Date and Time still always changing everytime I "turn it on" or "restart" my Z10, regardless that automatic option set on or off.
Any idea? Thanks for the help
I sent it from my BBzTen.

If you back everything up, you can restore everything after the wipe. You will not lose data. After restoring all you have to do is enter your password for your accounts.
However, if you do that it's possible, not for sure, but it's possible you will restore the problem. If you restore only media and application data you will have to re-add your accounts, reset all your notifications etc. Any apps you had will have to be redownloaded from BBWorld but it's quite quick and easy to do. The wipe will leave the OS in tact so you won't have to do anything with that.

My recently purchased camileo P100 camcorder won't store the date and time.
Every time it is started it has to be reset as it returns to the default date.
Has anybody else had this problem

I've got the same problem and reported it allready to Toshiba support.
Although I mentioned that there were allready more people who posted this problem, toshiba replied that they didn't receive such complaints. I was advised to return my camera to the reseller which I did'n do because I think it's a software problem so all the P100's have the same problem

  • How can I get rid of the dates and time on my Notes

How do I get rid of the dates and times on my Notes that appeared when I updated to 8?

Yes, it's seems like a poor design decision.
By putting the date on the line below the Note title in the Notes Index, the app shows half the number of notes per page AND if you have a large number of notes, it takes twice as long to stroll down.
I doubt the designer actually uses the app.

Hi! My name is Tom from San Diego, CA. I have the exact same question as you. That is, I would like to be able to print out a photo from iphoto with the date that picture was taken displayed on the face of it. In this way, someone looking at that picture in a photo album years later would know when it was taken. Did you ever find a method to print copies of photos out of iphoto with the date displayed on the print? Thanks for your help!
