Resetting a dropdown menu selection

I am using a dropdown menu as a form of navigation between screens. On screen one you drop the menu down and can choose to go to screen two. However, when I come back to screen one the drop down menu remains on the "Screen Two" option. Is there
any way to reset the drop down menu to say"Screen One" upon leaving the page?

The only way I know about is to reset dropdown each time you navigate back to Screen1. To do that just set a variable in screen1 property
OnVisible
UpdateContext({active: true})
and in screen1 property OnHidden
UpdateContext({active: false})
Then in dropdown visual add this in Items
If(active=true, .... your data source here ...)
Or perhaps easiest way is instead of resetting datasource of dropdown, you can reset dropdown default by adding this into
Default property of dropdown
If(active=true, "Screen1")

I did some searching and am unable to find an answer for this. It could be because I don't know the name of what I'm trying to do (I'm a total LiveCycle Designer noob). I tried to find guides but they seem to be for newer versions of Designer (I'm using 8.2) so I'll ask here:

Conditonal formatting with expiration date dependant on dropdown menu selection

I've got an interesting one for you.
I'm creating a report tracking excel spreadsheet. I have to suspense the return of the report. That being said I want to find a way that I can have the row turn red if the suspense date is past but only if the another cell does not have a specific selection
from a drop down menu selected.
Specifics:
J2 starts the column for the suspense date. G2 Starts the Drop down list. If the G2 (drop down) has anything selected other than "Complete" The row should be red. Once "Compete" is selected the rule should now longer be employed.

Thanks for the quick reply George. Sorry for the confusion. Suspense is the military term we use. Basically, I send a report to someone and they are required to get it back to me by the suspense date (or due date). Its just the date in which they are required
to send the report back to me. Until it is returned, the report is still "in suspense." That is why once the "Complete" is selected in G2 form the drop down list, I woul dlike the rule to no longer be applied. Does that answer/clarify your
question?

Android Adobe DPS viewer. HTML form dropdown menu closes everytime the viewer navigation pops up.

I have a web content page which contains a form dropdown menu: <select><option></option></select> ... and so on. I use this as a small filter to narrow a result.
When I tap the screen, this dropdown menu is shown and works correctly on an iPad. As a side effect the navigation from the Adobe DPS viewer is also shown although this doesn't interfere with the dropdown menu in the HTML. Both are shown.
On an Android tablet, the html dropdown menu is shown for a fraction of a second until the Adobe DPS viewer navigation pops up. The HTML dropdown menu just won't stay visible.
My question: How can I solve this? How can I make the HTML dropdown visible on an Android tablet? Or how can I prevent the DPS viewer navigation from showing?

This phenomenon does not happen on a Samsung Galaxy Tab 2. While not showing the dropdown menu as on an iPad it shows it as a scrollable menu at the bottom.

Update form not returning correct data selection in dropdown menu

Using CS3 DW along with SQL 2008 R2. I have a number of dropdown menus on an entry form (using VBScript/ASP) that are feed by SQL queries. All data is accepted in the entry form and writes to the table in the database without any issues. I created an Update form and based on a Rec ID clicked on from a list the Update form is presented with all the data in the correct fields except for one dropdown menu. All the other menus go to the correct selection except for the one. Spent 2 days attempting to resolve this. If I change the dropdown menu to a field the correct data is presented when the form comes up, but doesn't allow the user to make a selection from the menu. When I change it back to a dropdown menu the saved selection is not selected - just lists the entire list of items in the menu. Any help or ideas on this is greatly appreciated.

Once more thank you. I have sorted the issue out.
I observed that I was selecting the wrong field. I selected the field matching the record set of the select instead of the field matching the record set of the table I am working as seen on the image belew
I was selecting this - This is the record set of the table that hold values for the city select list
Instead of this. This is the record set of the table behind the form I am working on
My issue is now re-solved.

How to select an item from a dropdown menu using Enter key

A website I frequently use opens with a dropdown menu. Using my former browser, I was able to select the an item from the dropdown list by hitting the first letter with my keyboard and then hitting Enter. (Think of entering an address and selecting TX from a dropdown menu of states. Often you can hit T twice to get to TX and then the Enter key will advance the cursor to the zip code field.) Since converting to Firefox, the Enter key no longer works to advance to the next screen...I now have to move the mouse to a "Go" button and click it after selecting the desired item from the downdown menu. It's a small thing, but constantly switching back and forth between mouse and keyboard is becoming annoying. Is there an option in Firefox to select items simply by highlighting them in the dropdown menu and hitting the Enter key, instead of having to use the mouse to click a "Go" button? Thanks

Align select dropdown menu on the right edge of parent box

Hello,
I was wondering if you can help me about an issue i have with Firefox browser.
I'm designing a webpage and i have a "<select>" menu with numerous options.
On Firefox the left edge of the dropdown menu aligns to the left edge of the
parent "<select>" box whereas in other browsers (Chrome, IE) aligns to the right.
The entire menu, is located on the right edge of my page
The result is when the innertext of an option is very long,
exceeds the margins of the page and is cut.
Is there any hidden option (css-fix), so that i could make dropdown menu align to
the right of the parent box , just like other browsers?
(I have some screenshots of the menu, but i don't know where to post them)

Question about multiple options selected in dropdown menu

I have limited space in a PDF fillable form (and of course am new to this). the Listbox option is nice in that the user can select multiple options. However, the list option also consumes a lot of physical space. If I have limited space (where a dropdown menu would be perfect), is it possible to set the Dropdown menu option to accept multiple selections (ie, more than one option selected by the user)?
Also, I do not have enough room for individual check boxes.

Another option is a custom dialog. In a form I designed that gets used a lot, a custom dialog presents the user with 60 check boxes (20 rows, 3 columns). Once the user makes selections, the item IDs are stored in a text field as a comma separated list (e.g., "1,6,21,59"). Unfortunately, it's not as easy to set up as simply placing a field since it does involve a decent amount of programming, but it does work well. Do you have any JavaScript programming experience?

OMG, it is my frustration day, really. All widgets are still coming with Captivate 7, only they are bit hidden for some obscure reason???
Use the Widget workspace, that is still available. In the Widget panel you'll have normally the widgets. Because if you choose Insert Widget (this also disappeared from the vertical toolbox) you'll not see the widgets but the interactions, the path is not correct. If you do not see the widgets in the Widget panel, you'll have to browse (there is a small icon at the bottom) to Gallery\Widgets in the installation folder of Captivate.

When I select an email address from the dropdown menu and hit return, Thunderbird then fills in a different email address. Yosemite upgrade?

I just upgraded to OS X Yosemite and this new "feature" appeared. I often have several email addresses that contain the same set of characters. I just type the first few characters and then select the appropriate email address from the dropdown menu that appears. But if I hit return afterwards to enter another email address, the first address gets switched back automatically to the first one that appeared in the dropdown menu. The more characters I type, the more accurate it is, but it totally defeats the purpose of autofill if I have to type the entire email address! Anyone else having this problem? And can you guys please fix it? If you select something from the dropdown menu, it should stay selected.

System Preferences>Network- Unlock padlock. Highlight Airport. Network Name-select your name. Click on the Advanced button. Airport/Preferred Networks-delete all that is not your network.
Place a check mark next to "Remember networks this computer has joined." Click the OK button and lock the padlock. Restart your computer.

In Firefox 4 the dropdown menu next to the forward button in the Navigation Toolbar that allowed the user to select another page in the history to go back to is gone. Why?

In Firefox 3, the user could access a dropdown menu by hovering over a small black arrow next to the forward arrow in the Navigation Toolbar. This allowed the user to go to earlier pages in the browser history, rather than using the back button to go to the immediate previous page.
After updating to Firefox 4, this menu disappeared. Was it moved? Was it removed?
I found this feature to be very useful. Why was it changed?
