Resetting a ring tone

I have a Noikia 6085 and I am trying to set a ring tone I downloaded from the internet. The phone keeps saying I cannot use that as a ringtone. It's is a mp3 format and is not copyrighted song. Any help

AHA, i've found it and it works for me now: you need to change the ringtone to an AMR file. you can find a free converter at http://www.erightsoft.com/SUPER.html
as for videos, if you use that converter, you need to convert them to 3gp (the one that says Nokia). don't worry, the files turn out very small.
hopefully it works for you!

  • Ring tones reset to default for no apparent reason

I have a number of contacts setup with a specific ring tone. Sometime, and I can't figure out why, those ring tones reset to my default ring tone. I've checked after software to see if that was the cause, but that does not appear to be the case. Does anyone know why this happens and how I can stop it?
    Thanks

My guess is that you are a MobileMe subscriber and that you sync your contacts to your iPhone wirelessly with MobileMe.
Custom ringtones are not synced to MobileMe. On occasion, MobileMe will push a clean copy of your contacts to the phone, usually to correct for an incomplete sync. When this happens, it replaces all your contacts with a new copy and you lose your custom ringtones.
The only solution at present is to turn off MobileMe contacts syncing and sync them only via USB.

  • Since I have installed iOS 6.1.3 on my iPhone 5 I have sometimes problems to start a phone call. Everything looks fine, but no ring tone... A workaround is to stop phone app in the multitasking bar. But this is more than inconvenient ;-) Any solution?

In this cases everything looks fine, but no ring tone is there and after sometimes the phone informs me that no connection can be estabilished (its a German phone, therefore I am not sure about the message in English systems). A workaround is to stop the telephone app in the multitasking bar (double click on home button, hold the app symbol pressed for some seconds, close app). Next several call work after this.
I am not sure if an incomming call would work in this mode...
Faces anybody the same problems or has solution for it?

    Basic troubleshooting
    Restart
    Reset
    Restore with backup
    restore as new if required

  • CUCM 8.6.1.2000 - Call History not logging, and no ring tone access.

    Hello,
    A little background:
Recently, I setup a UCS C-210 M2 with CUCM 8.6.1 and restored our Pub and Sub to it. Also migrated to from physical Unity to Virtual CUC, same with Presence.
I've also setup a 2nd CUCM Sub, as well as new CUC and CUP subs on a second UCS C210. I also upgraded CUP to 8.6.4. before adding the Sub CUP node.
I'm thinking my problems began when I added the 2nd Subscriber CUCM node on our 2nd C210. Here is a description of what's going on.
    -  I cannot change ring tones on an IP phone. I get "Ring List Unavailable" when I try to change a ring tone. I noticed that my phone had changed over to the CTU ring tone around the time I brought up the VM environment. The CTU ring tone was a custom one I had loaded at one time.
    - I cannot access any call history on my IP phone. My Jabber client logs call history just fine.
Seems to be a TFTP issue, but I restarted the Cisco TFTP service yesterday, and it did not help. I also reset the Device Pool, which didn't seem to do anything.
Also, I'm still a bit unclear on which services I should be running on my new Subscriber node.
Any help is very much appreciated. Thanks again, guys!!
    -Jonathan

I had this issue and resolved it. The problem was that we had changed DHCP servers over to a different platform and the new DHCP server didn't have Option 66 defined to point the phones to a TFTP server. Once we re-specified the TFTP server IP's for option 66 in DHCP and reboot the phones the issue was resolved.

  • N97 v2.0 Gallery problems and missing ringing tone...

    Hi!
I had removed all of my photos an mp3 files from my phone before I updated it to v20.
    Now I'm facing two problems:
    1st:
It still shows me lots of photos in the gallery (which have been deleted from memory), unfortunately, I can't delete them there. And i can't force the gallery to refresh those items. How do I get them out of there? It's freaking me out to have more than 100 items in the gallery, which aren't there any more.
     2nd:
I separated my contacts into four different groups. I'd like everyone of them to have a ringing tone of their own. So I copied four mp3 files to the internal mass memory. Unfortunately, two of the files appear only in the music player (which can play them without problems), but I can't choose them, when I'm in the contact group settings. Any ideas?

I updated to Firmware V2.0. It all seemed to go well and the N97 seemed to be fine afterwards (all the applications worked, etc.) It wasn't until I made a call that I realised there was a problem. I could no longer make or receive calls! If I dialled any number (from Contacts or using the Dialler) the phone said 'Not Allowed.' I tried reloading the firmware but it didn't cure the problem. Texting worked fine. I tried Restoring Factory Settings, a Soft Reset and then a Hard Reset but on all attempts the phone said 'End All Active Calls and Connections First.'
Same problem as you I think. Here's how I solved the problem:
Hard Reset *#7370# (it didn't work straight away as each time I tried I got the message 'End All active calls and Connections First'. This can be cured by removing all widgets from the Home Screen.
Having completed a Hard Reset I checked the firmware version on my phone *#0000# and found V2.0 was still installed.
I then restored my data to the phone from my Backup using Ovi Suite. Unfortunately this left me back at square one - unable to make or receive calls! The trick is not to restore everything.
Repeat the steps above until restoring from Backup. Check all items except 'device settings and applications' and carry out restore.
I did that and my phone is working perfectly. I have had to manually re-install my applications but everything is working fine.
Give it a try. Good luck!

Basic troubleshooting steps clearly outlined in the User Guide are restart, reset, restore from backup, restore as NEW.
If the basic troubleshooting steps don't work, then you'll need to bring your phone into Apple for evaluation and probable replacement.

  • BB Pearl Flip - ring tones/sounds quit and shuts itself off

I'm having major problems with my phone since I got it.
I'm on my fthird phone since May 2!!!  On exactly 8 days on the first phone the ringers/sound would quit and would say there was an error on the phone and wouldn't play the sample music.  I brought it back to my dealership and they gave me a new phone.  On day 8 again the same problem happened!  My dealer suggested buying the extra memory chip and I put it in the phone...I did.  The only thing I have downloaded on that phone was msn and facebook.  It was also shutting its self off during day 8!  8 days later again the ring tones/sound wasn't working!  I went back to my dealer and got a new phone.  This time he said to only download facebook and not msn in case it was a memory problem. Now yesterday was day 8....and again the ringtones/sound doesn't work!  I don't download anything...no music, videos not even any ringtones!  Not hearing your phone ring is somewhat of an important feature to the phone!! Oh and when it's acting up the only way you can get it to stut off and reboot is to pull the battery!..and we all know how long it takes to reboot! you might as well come back in an hour!!  Then it will reset and will be okay for a few days! ( or this has been my experience so far!!)
This is my first blackberry and honestly will probably be my last!  I haven't been impressed!  I want to see if anyone else was experiencing this type of problem. I have 30 days again until I can't exchange it and if I can't get this figured out it will be going back and I'll be getting something different!

I had a similar problem with my first 8230 that I rec'd in late April of this year.  After only a few days the ringer stopped working and nothing I tried and nothing Bell support did either via the wireless network or at a local Bell Store was able to restore the notification profiles.  I had the phone replaced (within 2 days via purolator after I returned the defective one and have since had no problems ... have changed the notification profiles several times in the interim.  I'd try several things like making sure you have the most up-to-date software version, and current service books offered by your carrier, before chucking it with BB.   For my part, I'm loving the Flip, but will probably be upgrading to a Curve or Storm at the first opportunity (next April!).

  • Can I keep my ring tones when upgrading to iPhone 6?

Can I keep the ring tones I have purchased when upgrading to iPhone 6? If so how do I do that?

I see.  Apple's documentation on what is included in the iCloud backup doesn't explicitly say that it contains voicemails, but that doesn't mean it does not.  You would just have to try restoring the backup to find out.
To restore to your iCoud backup you have to start by erasing the phone.  Go to Settings>General>Reset and tap Erase All Content and Settings.  Then go through the setup screens on the phone and when given the option, choose Restore from iCloud backup.  You will then sign into your iCloud account, accept the terms and conditions, then choose the backup you wish to restore from.  To see an older backup, you may need to tap "Show older backups" (see image below).  Be sure your phone is connected to wifi and your charger as this may take some time to finish.
If this does not recover your voicemails, you can check to see if you have an older iTunes backup that may contain them.  Available backups are shown in iTunes Preferences>Devices on the Backups list.
If all else fails, you could try contacting your carrier.  Voicemail is a carrier feature and they may have an archive you could access.

  • HT4528 I pulled my iPhone out of the docking station/speakers and now the ring tones don't work.  Anyone know a fix for this?

Does anyone know if there is a fix for iPhone 4S when you pull it out of the docking station and now the ring tones don't work -- it only vibrates.

Basic troubleshooting of the device is reset, restart, restore (first from backup then as new).  Has any of this been tried?
    Do other sounds work?
Have you checked to see if the dock connector or headphone jack have debris in them?

  • No sound in I my Phone. no ring tone or soungs and clips sound. I already reseat the setting but nothing has changed

No sound in I my Phone. No ring tone or soungs and clips sound. I already reset the setting but nothing has changed. The sound only active with headphone?

Make sure the Ring/Silent switch isn't showing a red bar or dot.
If that isn't it, try disconnecting the headphones and adjusting the the volume.
If the iPhone says headphones when you adjust the volume, there could be something in the headphone jack.
You can try disconnecting and reconnecting the headphones 5-6times or restoring the iPhone.

  • Repeated requests to "Sign In" to create a Ring Tone

In trying to create a ring tone in iTunes, I am asked to "Sign in to create ring tones from the iTunes store". I am already signed in, but I type in my password anyway. After clicking the "Sign In" button, I am asked again to sign in. iTunes never accepts my sign in request. I am typing the correct password and don't know what to do.
I went to a local Apple Store, but the "genius" could not help. He said it shouldn't do that and that I should send an eMail to iTunes. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
    Thank you!

I had the same problem and fixed it. I did many things at once, so I am not sure what the correct step(s) was/were. Nevertheless, here they are:
    1. Make sure you didn't purchase the song using a different iTunes account. I forgot about an older account that I had. Sign into that account and make sure all your credit card/email data is up to date.
    2. De-authorize your computer, reboot the computer, and then restart iTunes and authorize the computer again.
    3. Sign into your iTunes account, make sure the info is up to date and that you have agreed to the terms of service. (This seems to get reset when an old account is used and you have since upgraded to a newer iTunes program.)
    4. Make sure that the songs you are trying to use were indeed purchased aand not your own ripped music.
    Hope this helps.

  • Hi,I have 4s,I have a problem since 2days that the ring tone, lock sound, password sound, volume button and slide, calls flash, all sometimes working and sometimes not,plz help me to solve this problem.thanks

    HI
i have iPhone 4s with iOS 8.1.3 , since 2 days I'm facing a problem that the ring tone, lock button sound, password sound, volume buttons, slide volume and incoming call flash,
all these not working properly , sometimes it will work and sometimes it will not, I tried to restart the phone many times but I didn't fix the problem
plz help me to solve this problem

Try to reset the phone by holding the sleep and home button for about 10sec, until the Apple logo comes back again. You will not lose any data by resetting, but it can cure some glitches.
If this does not help, setting it up as new device would be the next step:
How to erase your iOS device and then set it up as a new device or restore it from backups
