Resetting all setting

If I reset all setting on my iphone 4 will I have to have it unlocked again? I am getting a message that says this accessory is not optimized for this Iphone and the speakers are no longer working so I am trying to find a way to fix this problem

No, there is no need to unlock a device after resetting it. A reset is very similar to a restart... no data is lost or changed.

If Join was on then your home wi-fi must be set to Non-Broadcast. If you did not set this up (maybe your provider did) then you will need to find the Network Name they used, and any password they used. The SSID is Security Set ID and to see more try http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/SSID . Basically it is the name used to identify your router/network. A lot of times the installer will leave it set as LinkSys, or Broadcom or whatever the manufacturer set it as for default. Your best bet is to get whoever installed it to walk you through how they set it up, giving you id's and passwords so you can get in. HOWEVER, if you are not comfortable with this (if you set security wrong, etc.) you would be well ahead of the game to hire a local computer tech (networking) to get this working for you. You can also contact the vendor of your router and get help (if it is still in warranty), or at least get copies of the manuals as pdf files. Sorry I can't give you more help, I hope this gives you an idea where to go from here to find more.

HELP! Resetting all setting on iphone 5, but then i tried to restart it. Not sure if its stuck or resetting

Hi if you seen my previous post, or you might have not. My safari app isn't working and the setting for safari in setting insn't responding. I reset all setting hoping this would work and fix the problem. However, i held both the home and off button because i didn't want to do the reset anymore because i was stuck at one place for a long time. the reset with the home did happen, but the resetting all setting is still happening and progress bar hasn't move. Im not sure if its stuck or if its just taking a while.

I am very happy to report that my server connection tech, which I called via landline, informed me to : 1. Open Tools 2. Scan down to Clear Recent History 3. Delete All. That was it! Unbelievable! Six hours of searching through the Windows catagories. I checked the results on an internet site, and viola! It was gone! Mozilla Firefox seems to remember the usernames and passwords irregardless of the option window that asks if you if want it to remember the user and password. I finally got in touch with my friend and he said he did not answer yes to the window, even though he was aware of it. No damage. I surely do appreciate everyones' concern in this, now what seems to be, a very simple solution. Cudos to Firefox! Thank-you! P.S. I now have to enter my information at the beginning of any password protected sites...no harm done! My friend is now condemned to the 'user account' site! lol...

Thank you for the question. It sounds like you are being prompted for a password when resetting all settings. It sounds like this could be a Restrictions passcode on your device preventing the reset. If you have forgotten this passcode, you can can use iTunes to restore your device:

Is it possible to undo "reset all setting" ?

Phone wasn't back up before that.

Are you not liking the answer from your previous post about this.
If you have no backup your data is gone - whether you do a reset all setting or erase all contents and settings.

Can't have it both ways. "Refreshing" w/o deleting programs and restoring to factory level are 2 different things. Also, it depends on which OS system you have. You did not mention this in any of your postings nor have you included your system info.

Its not necessarily freezing - just being slow to build.
May have something to do with this being a secured site - I an giving Opera a test run & this part of the apple site does not go into compressed load - but the non-secure parts of the site do. The issue may be that some sites like apples just have too much unimportant junk on the screen because the designers are on an internal network a few offices away from the server and never see all the issues that com up.

How do i know everything has been successfully backed up before i Reset all setting on ipad

I need to reset the ipad as some Apps are playing up. i have backed everything up to iCloud (had to purchase extra stroage), am i okay to just hit Reset all Settings? It's my daughters ipad and she's worried i'll loose everything!!
