Resetting App store Apple ID and Password

I just uploaded OS 6 to my iPad. Now when I go to the app store my son's son's Apple ID Password Shows up on my iPad. My iCloud ID still recognizes my same ID password, but the app Store has change it over to my son's info. My son has never used my iPad to visit the app store. Is there any way I can change my Apple ID password for the app store back to what is was before?

If the ID is yours but you don't know the password, you'll have to reset it (http://support.apple.com/kb/HT5787). If the ID belongs to a previous ownder of the phone, you'll have to either get the ID and password from them, or have them erase the phone and remove it from their account as explained here: http://support.apple.com/kb/TS4515.

App Store email ID and Password access

I successfully changed my Apple ID (new email address and password) through my MacBook. However, when attempting to update my iPhone apps, or buy new apps on my iPhone, the app store on my iPhone will not recognize my new email address. It brings up my old email and will not allow me to log in. Even with my old email and password. I did do a sync between my MacBook and iPhone, but this does not fix the problem. Suggestions on how to get my iPhone to recognize my new emai and password?

I had this same problem but it's a simple fix. I'll just repost what I posted on another forum:
Go to the App Store app, and click on the "featured" tab on the bottom. Once on that page, scroll down to the bottom of the page and it should list the account being used. Click on it and you have the option to sign out. Once you've signed out the page will refresh and there will be an option to sign in, simply input your own account info and it will sign you in. You only have to verify your account again before making any purchases and then you're set and ready to go. Hope that helps.

Well if he /forgot/ his apple id then what he should do is to look up all of his email addresses to try to get the crendential's back...if he can't remember that then your brother gave you a beauitful paperweight, I hope you didn't pay for it

No matter what I try when setting up an account for game center, I get the response that this account is already in use. I have tried several times to reset both my Apple ID and a password.

Open the App Store app, go to the Featured pane, swipe to the bottom, tap the Apple ID and sign out. Tap again and sign in with the Apple ID of your choosing.

Open Sysem Preferences from your Apple () menu top left in your screen then select the Firewall tab.

There is no featured tab in my iTunes store. . . and everywhere it shows me signed in. I had downloaded an app for my mother on HER ipad, and that is the only app I have done for her. Again, this only affects you if someone *redownloaded* content with a different ID. In my case, I emailed iTunes Store support, explained the situation, and they reset the counter. I recommend you try the same
If you read discussion boards, this is a significant change from a year ago, when Apple told people in the same situation to go f&$# themselves. Clearly it's dawning on them that this is a stupid policy, and my guess is if people keep complaining they'll change it to something more reasonable. Remember, it wasn't that long ago you couldn't re-download content at all.
Apple can't really afford to play hardball on this. Sure, the hardcore fanboys will always say "Thank you sir, may I have another" whatever Apple throws at them, but the rest of us will just switch to Amazon, which has none of these restrictions.

Hi Mofomon,
If you want to use the new/updated AppleID and password, you need to sign out of the App Store, sign out of iTunes, etc. and then sign back on with the new ID and password.
To sign out of the App Store on your iPad, go to Settings>iTunes & App Store, then click on your old AppleID, click on View Account, and sign in with your old password that goes with that ID. Then click on Sign Out. Once you have the old ID signed out, you can sign back on with the new ID and Password.
New purchases will be done with that ID, but if you actually set up a totally separate brand new ID from your old one (as opposed to simply changing it) then any past purchases will still be linked to that old ID, and will require the old password for updating.
If you simply changed your existing AppleID, then the new password will be what is needed for updating.

Launch iTunes. From the menu bar click Store / View My Account
Click: Edit Payment Information
Make sure you have the correct Security Code.
Then click: Done
