Resetting CMOS Each Time for Boot

Not sure where to begin. This is my second or third build. I never had problems until now. They were always smooth sailing till now. I have my computer specs listed below. Just going to explain what is going on. I just received my new RMA from newegg for this board. MSI 990FXA-GD80 V2 AM3+. When I first boot it up, works perfectly fine. But once I restart the computer it will not display anything on the monitor. Just a black screen.  I have to clear the CMOS each time for it to finally boot up in the bios. I've tried manually setting some of the voltages but I'm no expert in this.  I'm really hoping I'm just a complete retard and I'm missing something very important. I haven't been able to work on this computer that much because I've been so busy and I'm cutting it close at this point for a 30 Day RMA through Amazon for certain parts. Than I have some from newegg cutting it close. Ill be staying up till about 3am tonight so hopefully I can get something done or in the right direction.
I have tested the board outside of the case it does the same thing.
I haven't tested the PSU because I don't have the tools or an extra PSU unfortunately.
I'm hoping its something simple, but... I know it probably won't be.

try with a single stick of ram and see if it does the same (that board may not like your low ram voltage of 1.35v)! (seen that happening lately with AMD board and low power RAM doesn't seem to happen with 1.5v) <--- go into your bios and set your ram voltage to 1.5V and see if it stops?
I would love to have your babies now... I tried that earlier but I was doing 1.35v. I was going to do the 1.5V but I was afraid to. Because I wasn't sure if I could really pump that much into it. Its now coming up trying to start my previous OS now. Keeps saying start up normally than that doesn't work. But I'm pretty sure I just need to delete the partition again and start over for that. I already have a flash drive ready for this. But ill need to set up RAID now lol. I've booted it several times now without having to reset the CMOS. It also has both sticks in there now.

  • My bookmarks disappear each time I boot up.  How do I fix?

Each time I boot up my Mac Powerbook and use Safari, the bookmarks that I setup from previous sessions do not appear any longer.   And my home page reverts to another one.   I have done the troubleshooting in help and this doesn't help  My favorites bar always appears.   I don't believe that these bookmarks are moving automatically to iCloud as I have even disabled iCloud to see if this might make a difference.   Has anyone experienced this and know how to fix?  Thanks!

If you're having trouble making changes to files that are inside your home folder (represented by a house icon in the sidebar of a Finder window), or if you can't get changes to the settings of an application to stick, then please see below.
    Back up all data.
This procedure will unlock all your user files (not system files) and reset their ownership and access-control lists to the default. If you've set special values for those attributes on any of your files, they will be reverted. In that case, either stop here, or be prepared to recreate the settings if necessary. Do so only after verifying that those settings didn't cause the problem. If none of this is meaningful to you, you don't need to worry about it.
    Step 1
If you have more than one user, and the one in question is not an administrator, then go to Step 2.
Triple-click anywhere in the following line on this page to select it:
    { sudo chflags -R nouchg,nouappnd ~ $TMPDIR..; sudo chown -R $UID:staff ~ $_; sudo chmod -R u+rwX ~ $_; chmod -R -N ~ $_; } 2>&-
Copy the selected text to the Clipboard by pressing the key combination command-C.
Launch the built-in Terminal application in any of the following ways:
☞ Enter the first few letters of its name into a Spotlight search. Select it in the results (it should be at the top.)
☞ In the Finder, select Go ▹ Utilities from the menu bar, or press the key combination shift-command-U. The application is in the folder that opens.
☞ Open LaunchPad. Click Utilities, then Terminal in the icon grid.
Paste into the Terminal window (command-V). I've tested these instructions only with the Safari web browser. If you use another browser, you may have to press the return key after pasting.
You'll be prompted for your login password. Nothing will be displayed when you type it. You may get a one-time warning to be careful. If you don’t have a login password, you’ll need to set one before you can run the command. If you see a message that your username "is not in the sudoers file," then you're not logged in as an administrator.
The command may take a few minutes to run, or perhaps longer if you have literally millions of files in your home folder. Wait for a new line ending in a dollar sign ($) to appear, then quit Terminal.
    Step 2 (optional)
Take this step only if you have trouble with Step 1, if it frightens you, or if it doesn't solve the problem.
Boot into Recovery. When the OS X Utilities screen appears, select
    Utilities ▹ Terminal
from the menu bar. A Terminal window will open.
In the Terminal window, type this:
    res
Press the tab key. The partial command you typed will automatically be completed to this:
    resetpassword
Press return. A Reset Password dialog will open. You’re not going to reset a password.
In the dialog, select the startup volume ("Macintosh HD," unless you gave it a different name) if it's not already selected.
Select your username from the menu labeled Select the user account if it's not already selected.
Under Reset Home Directory Permissions and ACLs, click the Reset button.
    Select
     ▹ Restart
    from the menu bar.

  • I am asked to Sign in with my Apple ID each time I boot my Macbook pro running the current and updated version of Yosemite

Each time I boot my Macbook Pro running a currently patched version of Yosemite I am asked to "Sign in with my Apple ID."  After that I have to approve the use of Find My Mac, and then I have to agree to the Terms and conditions of Use.   This is very annoying since I use Bootcamp a lot and it adds a fair effort to the reboot process.   Any thoughts?
Some additional clues that may or may not have bearing on this.
Once I am booted into Yosemite completely, if I open Safari (also current version)  I am told my Safari Extensions have been migrated and I have to re-enable each one individually.   They have all been disabled.   This will occur each time I completely close Safari and reopen it.
I appreciate your thoughts and suggestions everyone!   Thanks in advance.

    Hi chc517,
I'm sorry to hear you are having issues with your MacBook Pro. I also apologize, I'm a bit unclear on a couple things about your specific configuration. The message you mentioned about the disk being encrypted would seem to indicate that you may have File Vault enabled. If that is the case and you are having a login issue, you would need to use the File Vault recovery key to reset your login password instead of your Apple ID, as noted in the following article:
OS X Yosemite: FileVault recovery key

  • I need to find out how to have Speakable Items available each time I boot up.

I use Mavericks Speakable Items every day to open and close applications without using my mouse if function keys.
The only way I get it to start is to calibrate it AFTER boot up.
I need to find out how to have it available each time I boot up my Mac Mini with OS 10.9.4,
    Suggestions.

In order to change your Apple ID or password for your iCloud account on your iOS device, you need to delete the account from your iOS device first, then add it back using your updated details. (Settings > iCloud, scroll down and hit "Delete Account")

  • I have to restart ipad each time for internet access.  Why?

I have to restart ipad each time for internet access and some games.  Never happened until about 2 weeks ago.  ?

Firefox is a browser: it doesn't require you to 'sign in'.
It sounds to me like you have some kind of malware installed if you're required to 'sign in' every time you use it.
I'd recommend you use Internet Explorer (''assuming that doesn't require you to 'sign in' too'') to go to http://www.malwarebytes.org/ and download the free version. It will quarantine any malware it finds so restart Firefox afterwards to see whether the problem recurs or not.

  • Why do i need to reconfigure a network each time i boot up ? (G5, airport)

I am using a G5 with a built in airport extreme card and a mini antenna. Each time I boot up I have to reconfigure a network. I could not locate any info from Apple regarding this problem. Any one know how to solve this problem?
    Thanks in advance.
    Richard
    G5   Mac OS X (10.4.3)

It sounds as if you have an ad-hoc network, that is a computer-to-computer network without a base station. A by product of ad-hoc networking is that you have to re-establish the network each time the computer that establishes the network is booted. This disadvantage is overcome by having a dedicated router in your network.

  • External hard drive has to be updated each time I boot up.

    Hi
I have moved my iTunes music to an external Hard drive (F:). I have pointed the software to the new folder and iTunes successfully recognizes it and all works fine.
The problem occurs when I reboot. I seem to have to "add the folder" (File > Add Folder to library) before it recognizes the music again. This means iTunes importing my library every time I boot up - not great. Also, my iPod (160G 5.5G Video) can't sync as iTunes tells me that my ipod is synced to another library, would I like to erase all data and resync with the current computer...
I'm sure I'm doing something really simple wrong. Please help!

If I understand well, you don't use FontBook to install fonts but to activate them.
Is it really useful to disable so many fonts?
More on that, If you have only 5 or 6 fonts available as default, it's that you disabled a lot of fonts from the <startupVolume>:System:Library:Fonts" folder which much be ALWAYS active.
    Look at:
    http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?artnum=307069
If I remember well, FontBook (which I don't use) is unable to auto-activate fonts for this or that program.
This is why I leave all the fonts installed and activated all the time.
To auto-activate sets of fonts for this or that program, you must use an other program like:
    Linotype FontExplorer X.app (free)
    <http://www.linotype.com/en/fontexplorerX>
    or commercial products.

  • Reset CMOS, system will not boot

This is a long story but I will try to keep it short:
I just bought a new 875P Neo-FISR and a 3.0 GHz Prescott, which from reading the other posts could have been a mistake. I installed the CPU, memory, and the video card and pressed the power button and received a "CMOS Data Wrong" error. So I tried to correct the problem but when I saved and exited then the system would not boot back up. So, I reset the CMOS via the jumper and tried again. After MANY attempts I change just the month in the date setting. And what do you know...it would not boot back up. The D-Bracket LEDs were: 1-flashing red/green, 2-flashing red/green, 3-red, and 4-red
I must have read almost every post in this forum and tried many things such as:
disconnecting all componets except for video, ram, and cpu
the during boot to recover the BIOS
removing mobo from case, maybe a short
moving the memory to different slots
moving the PSU to a different computer...it works
disconnecting the PSU from the mobo and and removing the battery overnight. The first night I did not disconnecting the PSU from the mobo and I found that did nothing.
Tryed everything that I could think of and some stuff that others thought of but nothing worked. However the last item...removing the battery...did change things some. Now nothing happens, and I mean nothing...no lights, no fans, no buzzing...nothing.
Any ideas would be greatly appreciated. The only recourse I have left is to RMA the board.

I tried one stick in all of the slots with and without the sound card. That did not work either.
The voltage for my memory is 2.6 so that is what I tried. But if I can get it to boot up again I will try 2.7.
    Tks.

  • Asking userid/password each time for opening any asset url

    Hi,
My UCM is working fine but when I am opening any image or video url from a new browser, it asking userid and password each and every time. After giving the credential the asset is opening in the browser.
After login first time in the browser, it never asks the userid and password but for any new browser/session, it is asking the userid and password.
I believe, there is some mistake in the configuration because in another environment this issue is not coming.
Could any one help on this ?
    Regards,
    Santanu

It also could be the way that you are actually requesting the page URL.
Depending on how your Content Server's HttpServerAddress variable is defined, the request you are sending may be deemed by the browser to be a new domain, hence the reprompt. I've seen this happen quite a few times.
For example, consider the following sample URLs:
    http://127.0.0.1
    http://localhost
    http://localhost.myworkgroup.com
If your HttpServerAddress variable is set to "http://localhost.myworkgroup.com" but you were to access the server using the short name "http://localhost" instead, you would still be able to login as expected.
However, the server uses HttpServerAddress to build any links on a page. You haven't logged into "http://localhost.myworkgroup.com", but "http://localhost". You click a link on a page after logging in to "http://localhost". The browser can't forward your credentials to a different domain ("http://localhost.myworkgroup.com") (or rather it better not... that's a security hole.) So the browser must reprompt. Same issue would happen using the IP address as opposed to the short name.
In short, look at the value of "HttpServerAddress", and use that address in the URL. See if that fixes the issue.

  • Time Machine doesn't see Time Capsule each time it boots up

Every time my iMac boots up, Time Machine forgets where Time Capsule is and I then have to click change disk and choose the TC again. The Time Capsule has short name so I know it's not that as pointed out in a support doc. Once I've told time machine it's then fine until I switch my iMac off, and then the whole process starts again.
Anyone have any ideas on how to solve this slightly annoying issue?
    Thanks.

Sorry but your picture is not presenting.. it is not your fault.. it will present on your computer but not on other computers.
If I try and download the picture it is 209bytes.. clearly too small. This is trying to open your picture.
This picture showing the failure is normal screenshot.. does it show for you??
I have suggested reducing the file name.. pic1.png as I think the long names with spaces could be an issue.
Here is the same picture with the name changed.
You cannot select the source disk for the target in TM.
Here is mine.. the source disk is never ever listed as available to use as a target.

    2.00GB RAM
I'm not sure about the PSU just yet as it doesn't have anything wrote on it besides Hiper, it's blue with blue lights in it
I got the PC on eBay (regrets I've had a few etc etc)
I had to put RAM, Floppy, Hard Drive and DVD in it when I got it but it wouldn't boot up
but all the blue LED's in it lit up and the DVD did too so I pressed the CMOS reset button and it said
"CMOS Checksum error defaults loaded. Warning!!! The previous performance of overclocking is failed, and the system is restored to the defaults
Press F1 to continue or DEL to enter setup"
I pressed F1 so I could install XP on the hard drive but when it got to when windows reboots during install I had to reset the CMOS again
now it runs perfectly without crashing, BSoD's or any other problems besides this having to reset so it will boot
I ran the Live update thing and that says it worked, then after reading this forum I tried the flashing with USB Mem stick
but I can't change the boot order because I lose whatever I change to BIOS settings to when it exits and restarts
Can someone help me out please?
I'll try and find out what the PSU thing is and any other info that would be needed
    Thanks in advance

I thought it said in the book that you could use different ram if they was kept to different channels
I tried it with just the 1gb stick in slot 1 and the problem still happened
