Resetting default settings in ps cc 2014

I need to reset my photoshop. It is not functioning very well. When I follow all the instructions, I don't get a pop up box to reset my settings. Instead I get a whole window about getting started etc. Nothing about resetting the program. Ctl, Alt and shift are the keys I use to start the program to reset it. Can anyone help?

Your on windows so you should click on the Photoshop launch shortcut to start Photoshop then immediately press and hold Shift+Ctrl+Alt, Do not do this before clicking launching Photoshop. If you hold the keys down in time before Photoshop processes your preferences you will get the following pop-up dialog reply Yes.
If you can not manage the timing you can manually delete your preferences before starting Photoshop using Windows File explorer. Microsoft hides user setting by default so before you can rename or delete them. You must change Microsoft hide users setting default. You can do the from Windows File Explore Tools Folder Options View tab Turn on show hidden, I also un-check the first two hide options. It my machine don't hide things one me.
Once done you will be able to navigate to your Photoshop preferences. C: Users Your User ID AppData Roaming Adobe Adobe Photoshop Version Adobe Photoshop Version Sittings
If you rename the Adobe Photoshop Version folder to something like "Adobe Photoshop Version old" when you start Photoshop a wnew " Adobe Photoshop Version ' folder will be create and populated.

Reset default settings on vi termination

I wish to reset my controls to the default settings on termination of the vi. I have set the default values in the properties field. When I restart my vi the settings at termination are those at next run of vi. Two controls I wish to reset to default are on/off boolean switches, one which must stay switched when pressed (but wish to reset to default on termination), the other which can be latched (and terminates vi).

If you have set a default value for all the controls on the FP. then you can create and invoke node for the entire vi.(see examples)
If you wish to just have a couple of your controls set to default then all you have to do is right click on each control and create an invoke node and set it to (reinit to DFlt) this should help you.

Reset Default Settings?

I accidently dragged a window somewhere and now it won't preview the video anymore. I checked, Preview was checked but it doesnt shwo the video, can anyone help m or tell me how to reste defualt settings?

WRT120N- Cannot reset default settings

I've browsed the forums for a possible solution to this problem. I've tried holding the reset button for 30 sec/1min, followed by powering down for the same amount of time. I've also tried pinging the default 192.168.1.1, and got a few messages of "Destination cannot be reached" before the message of request timed out.
I set the router to be a wireless access point on my school network, but the network is not recognizing the modem as part of its system. I'm hoping to start the process from scratch (I've set up numerous routers in the same manner, this one is causing me lots of problems). Any advice?

Do not connect the modem to the router...Only connect the computer to the router.Disable the firewall and anti-virus on the computer...Hard-reset the router again.power cycle the router...On the computer assign the static ip address 192.168.1.10,subnet 255.255.255.0 and gateway as 192.168.1.1...Now,go to the command prompt and try ping the gateway again...

'the preferences file is corrupt and has been reset to the default settings' - cs4 Mac

greetings!
every time i start illustrator i encounter a new error.
"the preferences file is corrupt and has been reset to the default settings."
"the corrupt file will be backed up as Adobe illustrator Prefs.err"
this problem manifested after i added some more .ai and .ase files to my swatches directory. i do not believe anything else changed.
not sure how to diagnose the problem. is there a debug mode or something? perhaps an offending file.
an option would be to try remove each added swatch file or folder individually, but this would be a very very time consuming process for me.
i use cs4 on a Macbook pro running Snow Leopard - 10.6.2 and would appreciate your advice.

Every time you close down Illy, the current preferences (which may have been changed while you worked on files) are saved, and every time you start up Illy, those preferences will be used.
Usually, preference corruption probably occurs randomly, caused by the OS, but if something in your files change the preferences to something that is not viable you will get an error like that.
You may press Cmd+Option+Shift during startup, which will replace the current preferences with the defaults, and probably you will get rid of the error message. It is probably not a cure, though.
If the error is persistent, the cure would be to get rid of the offending things in the files you work with.

For the last severl weeks I have had difficulty launching sites from within my email messages. Thinking that I may have gone into "Settings" and set something wrong, I decided to reset to the default settings. So, in "Settings" I chose reset everything. Now, when I turn my iPad on all I get is a black screen with the picture of a white apple and a white line below it. Nothing else works. What can I do? Do I need to send this back to Apple to be restored?

You will hopefully be able to restore it yourself. It sounds like you erased all constant and settings rather than resetting all settings. But I'm basing my theory on the fact that you are seeing the Apple logo with the white progress bar (the white line) on the screen. That's what you would see if the software was being reinstalled and then it stopped on you. If that is what happened, you need to restore again and most likely need to use recovery mode.

However ...... If you are seeing the white line when you turn the iPad, let it go for twenty minutes or so, before you try restoring again. There is possibility that the software is still be installed and it can take a while before you see that white line move at all indicating that progress is being made.
Frankly, I don't think that the software is still being installed, but since you didn't say specifically how long the iPad has been like this, it could just be that the software hasn't finished installing yet. If you know better - meaning that it's been like this for hours or longer, then you do need to restore the device.

When I print, resolution changes, can I reset Acrobat to default settings?

I can't see any issue with any of my settings though shortly after reinstalling CS a month ago, Acrobat started printing to a much lower resolution than the PSD (or any application) is set to print to, though Photoshop may be the only one where I am actively looking into resolution issues because...
Every resulting PDF I get is about 1x1", when I'm starting with a letter size doc (or any other size, they all shrink down that dramatically in Acrobat iwth the resulting PDF).
Checking all resolution settings in Advanced Print Settings dialogs all -look- like they're fine. Is there a way to reset the whole shebang to installation default settings to help correct this traumatic happening which always happens just as I need to send a PDF off to someone of course.

When you reset Firefox then a new profile is created and some personal data (bookmarks, history, cookies, passwords, form data) is automatically imported and the current profile folder will be moved to the desktop to an "Old Firefox Data" folder.
Installed extensions and other customizations (toolbars, prefs) that you have made are lost and need to be redone.
It is possible to recover more data from the old profile, but be cautious not to copy corrupted files to avoid carrying over the problem

How to reset to default settings for safari 4.1.3

Need a bit of help here... for some reason I'm not getting use of Safari 4.1.3, not able to open sites, the Open location function in pull down menu is greyed out and no bar for typing in sites I want to browse. I think I just may have to reset Safari to default settings, but not sure how... Opening up Preferences is no help.

I hate to say this but v10.4.11 with Safari 4.1.3 is really outdated. You may have problems loading websites for that reason alone and lack of security. Apple has not updated Safari for Tiger for years.
But try a reset.
From your Safari menu bar click Safari > Reset Safari
Select the following:
Clear history
Reset Top Sites
Remove all webpage preview images
Empty the cache
Clear the Downloads window
Remove all cookies
Remove all website icons
Click Reset
Quit and relaunch Safari. See if that made a difference.
I have an iBook G4 running v10.4 with Safari 4.1.3 and more often than not, websites won't load. Or I'll see the, "your browser is not supported', dialog.

I tried uninstall and installing the program. I am taking a class and I need to open the "mini bridge" within the program. The instructions were to open the program and as it was opening, press cntrl, alt and shift to access the default settings. I did this and the prompt came up asking if I wanted to go to factory default settings, I responded yes. The program continued to open and should have shown the mini bridge tab in lower left c@orner of the application page, nothing shows up. This is my dilema.

The Mini Bridge panel is no longer available in the most current major version (15.x) of Ps CC aka 2014. You can install the previous major version, Ps CC (14.2.1) by using the Creative Cloud desktop application.

Photoshop, I am in a class, I need to reset to default setings, to enable mini bridge to open within the program. I have followed the instructions and i reset to default settings. The program opened and no mini bridge tab appearred as instructed.

I can not get the program to reset the factory defaults, enough to open the mini bridge tab...... I have tried numerous times and it does not open and it is needed to be able to view two files in the application window and to be able to work on them and move layers as instructed....!!!!!!!!!!!

What OS?
It is probably either a full HD or too large of a cache. You should have 10-20% free space on HD. You can purge cache in edit/preferences/cache.
If you have cache exported to folders also this will not purge it. Have to go to Tools/cache/purge cache for xxx folder.

Is their a way to reset ALL default settings in PS CS6?

My 3D camera view is acting kooky when I go into 3D mode. It's like I'm underneath the text looking up at it, and no matter what settings I mess with I can not get the view that I want. There is Reset all tools and reset preferences. To reset you Photoshop Preferences as you start Photoshop hold down Ctrt|CMD+Alt|OPT+Shift you should get a prompt about you preferences. Somewhere in tools preset there are reset tool options.
