Resetting my Adobe Application Manager password

I can not remember this password, and I must have it to download a new application.
I have entered my Adobe ID & password, but that didn't work. I do not see a link to help with a forgotten password. Any suggestions?

Hi, I can't find a way to retrieve or reset my adobe application manager password. Anyone know how?
    Many thanks

Nearlynormalnora it is likely that something is interfering with the sign in process for the Adobe Application Manager.  I would recommend trying the steps listed in Sign in, activation, or connection errors | CC, CS6, CS5.5 - http://helpx.adobe.com/x-productkb/policy-pricing/activation-network-issues.html.

  • My updates are failing.  Adobe application manager may be damaged.  I have downloaded and installed a new copy and the problem persists.   Please help.

I am trying to update Photoshop CS6 in order to read my camera's RAW files.  It is a camera that is supported by Adobe Photoshop CS6.  However, when I try to get the Adobe Application Manager to update the software, it fails to do so.  (The spinning wheel tells me it is checking for updates and then quits, saying that "Update Failed - Updates could not be applied.  Adobe Application Manager may be damaged.  Download and install a new copy of Adobe Application Manager.")
I have tried to reinstall the Adobe Application Manager 8.0, which gives me the following error message "We've encountered the following issues.  Installer failed to initialize.  Please download Adobe Support Advisor to detect the problem."  However, when I go to the link provided to download the Adobe Support Advisor, this piece of software NO LONGER EXISTS. "
The Adobe Support Advisor has been discontinued
The Adobe Support Advisor tool was used to analyze installer log and system information associated with installation errors. The tool has been replaced with improved installation support mechanisms. Please visit Adobe Support section for Knowledge base articles around Installation."
So, I have gone to the forums and took the recommended step to update my software manually - getting the update Photoshop_CS6_13_0_6upd-2.dmg.  However, this update also fails stating that my Adobe Application Manager may be damages.  Download and install a new copy of Adobe Application Manager.  Which puts me right back where I started.
I have also taken the step of completely reinstalling Photoshop CS6.  This did not solve the problems outlined above.
    Please help!

  • OS X 10.8.2 - Disk I/O error triggered by Adobe Application Manager

    Hi all,
I've been experienceing some issues wince updating from 10.8.1 to 10.8.2 when using Adobe Creative Suite CS5.5 and CS6.
Since going onto 10.8.2, everytime I launch Adobe Application Manager to perfom updates and manage my installation my MacBook stops responding and I'm presented with beachball.
I can leave the system for an hour and the Adobe Application Manager finally launches, however its un-responsive.
I'm unable to force quite as the entire system stops repsonding.
I've been trying to pinpoint the exact cause, and without fail Adobe Application Manager triggers it.
Here is an extract from the system log that appears when I try to use Adobe Application Manager.
    29/10/2012 10:28:22.000 kernel[0]: CoreStorageGroup::completeIORequest - error 0xe00002ca detected for LVG "Munkey" (52A623F9-3A52-49A0-9055-DBBE3F0F6D46), pv 94322727-7BBC-4879-9AEC-0DC57100EA39, near LV byte offset = 123945537536.

The error keeps repeating until I power down the machine.
At first alarm bells are ringing as this suggests my HD is about to drop dead. However on another user account everything works perfectly including Adobe Application Manager.
    Things I've tried:
I've ran Disk utility from the recovery partition to both verify the disk and fix permissions. All OK
    S.M.A.R.T. is verified
Use a different user - Which seems to be fine
Uninstalled both CS6 and CS5.5 removing using the option to delete all preferences - No change
Used CS cleaner from Adobe to ensure every last trace of CS is removed - No change
Temporarily removed my users entire preference folder - No change
Rebuilt the Spotlight Index - No change
PRAM Reset Mulitple times - No change
Used ONYX to clear out Application Caches - No change
Verified using SeaTools under Windows 7 bootcamped - All OK
Just wondered if anyone else is having similar problems, or better yet has resolved it.

I've finally managed to spend a bit of time investigating further. Turns out that the PDApp.log file found in ~/Library/Logs/ was corrupted and also a couple of non related items awell. Possibly caused by hard reset or something whilst it was being written to?
I found this out by borrowing an external, the copied by entire user folder to the external using cp -R. This alerted me to any files that couldn't be copied across.
    cp: /Users/paul/Library/Logs/PDApp.log: Input/output error
    cp: /Users/paul/Pictures/Aperture Library.aplibrary/Database/apdb/History.apdb: Input/output error
    cp: /Users/paul/Pictures/Aperture Library.aplibrary/Masters/2012/06/07/20120607-205006/DSCF5046.JPG: Input/output error
It did take a while to delete these, then I emptied my trash, again it took a while. But finally I'm free of lockups and I can use Creative Suite again ;-)
Going to monitor my drive for a couple of months see if anything else corrupts. Fingers crossed.
Thanks for your input guys. Hope this helps other folks.

  • Adobe application manager not working properly

First, If I'm in the wrong forum, please let me know and I'll re-create this entry in a better location.
I've been a user of Elements 10 since it came out but now with my new camera I would like to try Elements 13.  It was a struggle, but I finally was able to install the trial package but I can not launch elements 13 because the Adobe Application Manager refuses to connect and authenticate.
I went through this thread for help:  https://forums.adobe.com/thread/1098435
and it lead me to some additional information below.
And followed these steps under troubleshooting connection issues found here:  http://helpx.adobe.com/x-productkb/policy-pricing/activation-network-issues.html
All of them worked just fine indicating that in theory, I should have NO problems connecting to Adobe.  However, that is not the case and I can not access the site that allows me to try or use the software....  The software manager just sits and spins its wheels so to speak.
Now, the funny thing, if I type in the WRONG password for my adobe ID, the application manager software immediately comes back and says that I've entered the wrong information.  That tells me the application manager is connecting to where it should.  As a last resort, I have even tried turning off my firewall and still no luck.  Is there anything else I can try?  There would be NO point in buying the software since I would still be stuck not being able to use it. Or anyother Adobe software for that fact.
    Cheers
    David

    Jeff,
    First of all, Merry Christmas.
Now, an update.  Elements / Photoshop 13 installed just fine on the my Mini Mac.    My PC has been running since day one (four or fives years now without a complete re-do.) and this seemed as good as time as any to install a factory fresh copy of Windows 7. Who knows how many programs etc.. have been installed / uninstalled etc.. over the past several years and now its complete. Mostly...   Fresh Windows install, All updates installed, latest video drivers drivers and anti-virus installed, google Chrome installed.  I had no issues installing Adobe Photoshop Elements after that.  Again, I have to say its very sad it comes to this extreme measure, but I really and truly do appreciate you taking the time to help me with this issue.
    Cheers

  • Adobe application manager fails to update/install

Please help me resolve this error and update App Manger properly.
I have downloaded and am running Creative Cloud CS6 versions of Illustrator and Photoshop that I installed back in Decmember.  Now I'm trying to download more applications and am encountering this error:
I click 'download' on InDesign (for example)
Download initiates launch of Application manager, App manager opens main window then "initializing installer window"
Application manager flashes this warning for a split second: "other instances of adobe application manager are currently running which must be closed before installing this product. Please close or wait for them to complete." (see image). This warning closes on its own after just a second.
Then it continues to install for a few minutes, asks for my password then fails with the message, "We've encountered the following issues, Adobe Application manager failed to install" (no error number, see image)
Photoshop and Illustrator still run fine, but none of my Adobe apps (including Air) will update properly now. I have tried deleting the App Manger files from applications > utilities and re-installing, but that also creates an error.
I have searched for duplicate app manager files but have come up empty.  I've run the support advisor app and it checks out fine.  I have a token from that if it helps.
I'm running iMac 10.6.8 and I also have CS5 installed on this computer if it makes a difference.
Any help would be appreciated.   I'd like to be able to run the apps I'm currently paying a monthly fee for.

I'm going to write this information cause it was so darn frustrating and after two days I finally got it - so here goes - resolution:
I'm running windows 7, and was trying to download cloud which apparently I was forced to do based on my subscription base (was on CS6 before that)
Step 1: start task manager and close ALL adobe running apps including akami session
Step 2: click on the windows icon and type in search bar %appdata%, enter
Step 3: in browser bar above of folder, click on "appdata" (my file directory when i typed step two was C:\Users\study\AppData\Roaming, and I need to be be at C:\Users\study\AppData)
Step 4: Click Local, then Adobe, then oobe, delete the oobe file
Step 5: Go the the following to download the "cleaner tool": http://download.macromedia.com/pub/creativecloud/cleanertool/win/Adobe_Creative_Cloud_Clea ner_Tool.zip
Step 6: Unzip the file and click on the AdobeCreativeSuiteCleanerTool.exe, that was in my directory as follows (dependent on where you download and unzip of course) C:\Users\study\Downloads\adobe_creative_suite_cleaner_tool (1)\win
Step 7: select (e) in the black box for "english", select (y) for yes, select creative cloud (whichever option # that is) and again anything with creative cloud (this did NOT delete my other adobe files, which I feared may - but I was simply instructing it to clean/delete the creative cloud.
Step 8: close the black window
Step 9: Click here: http://www.adobe.com/support/downloads/detail.jsp?ftpID=4773  and download the creative cloud adobe application manager
    Step 10: Run the application
Step 11: Log in and download the software you want
If that doesn't work, what I did is between steps 4 and 5 I restarted my computer, then I went into task manager and closed all adobe apps.  I'm not sure I had to do this step but I was desperate after 2 days doing whatever.  Each tech person gave me different information.  The last person helped me best, but I spoke with her via chat AFTER I had rebooted the computer.  If you need support click http://helpx.adobe.com/contact.html and I personally did the "chat" so I wouldn't have to wait.
Hope this helps anyone who hasn't figured it out!

It would appear that there is a problem with Adobe Application Manager.  When I run Bridge(64) I run the HELP->UPDATE.  The system will launch Application Manager and hangs.  “Checking for Updates….”  Icon spins and nothing that I can see happens.  I will have to use Task Manager to kill it.
It also appears that I cannot install from my CS6 Installation disk.  Will not except the S/N.  My guess the count need to be reset. We are at 6 authorizations.
The problem:  Ever since I stopped the CC Upgrade Special and deleted CC software I have not been able to get Adobe software squared away.

  • Adobe Application Manager fails to install when I try to download CC

I have tried to download CC but keep getting the error messate that Adobe Application Manager fails to install. How can I download CC?

    For Windows 8, 64-bit,
I Renamed OOBE to OOBE_old located at
    C:\Program Files (x86)\Common Files\Adobe
    I then relaunched the Browser
    I went to https://creative.adobe.com/products/creative-cloud
I Signed in with Adobe ID and password.
I clicked on the  download button but absolutely nothing was happening.
You will find below a video showing what happens when I click the download button when OOBE is not renamed.

    Pictures
I hope this bug will be fixed promptly because all my CC applications are now paid for a while and not yet presently accessible and useable.
I feel, in all fairness, until the problem is fixed, Adobe should provide a credit.
    Thanks for your understanding.

  • How do I get Adobe Application Manager to start (again)?

    Hi!
Adobe application Manager just told me that there were available updates for Cs5.
I Pressed Update, but noticed that Photoshop and Bridge were running, so I stopped the installation to quit the programs.
I stopped the installation when you're supposed to enter your computer password and then Adobe App Manager chrashed.
I Restarted the computer, but the update wouldn't start automaticly again.
Is there a way to start Adobe application Manager manually? I want my updates, haha.
    Thanks!

  • All the adobe products crashes beacuse of Adobe Application Manager

Ever since I downloaded trial version Adobe after effects through Creative Cloud, all my other other licensed products like Photoshop, Captivate, Flash crashes everytime I try to open them. Every day I have to install them. Its really frustrating.
This is what I get everyday , though they all are installed.
I dont know how to get rid of this now. Even I tried downlaoding Adobe Application manager/ which is actually Creative Cloud, it does not help.

  • Adobe Application Manager -- real adobe app, or is it malware?

I have a user whose laptop somehow acquired this adobe-ish-looking icon on the task bar, and when it runs it says that it is
         /Library/Application\ Support/Adobe/OOBE/PDApp/core/Adobe\ Application\ Manager.app
and that it wants to update applications.  Then it asks for the root user/password.
Is this a real Adobe application?  Or is it some piece of malware trying to get me to give it the system manager account password?
(And is there some mental illness that affects Adobe engineers that they can't produce an update procedure that doesn't function as a Trojan horse?)

Believe me, I'm telling the truth, and when I ask for your admin username and password
I didn't disbelieve that part at all. And no, you don't have to have any Adobe apps running for the updater to notify you of updates. Normally, it's the Acrobat Pro software and the free Adobe Acrobat Reader that will pop up an installer message whenever an update is available. All others will show a number on the menu bar near the date. As an example, you'll see the Adobe logo with a 2 next to it if there are two CC apps with new updates available.
So if you did install Acrobat Pro from your Creative Cloud membership or the Adobe Reader, then yes, it's completely normal for it to pop up on its own without the app running. It also clearly notes the update is for Acrobat Pro or the Reader and will say something about what your current version, and the new version is 11.x.x, do you want to install it? If you click OK, the admin box will appear to allow the update.
It's good to be wary, but your account of what a Trojan Horse is, and where they may come from is greatly over generalized.

  • Adobe Application Manager Windows desktop icon

I need to configure Adobe Application Manager to stop ceating a desktop icon on "all users" desktop when AAM updates itself.

The installation is done on each computer with multiple users which do
not have rights nor user and password to AAM.
I have deleted the icon but every time AMM updates itself the icon
reappears for all users and I end up with multiple icons on the
    administrator desktop.
    Thanks for the reply David.
By the way I have many issues with the newest Acrobat and editing pdf files.

I've been trying to update Photoshop CS5 to 12.0.4, and the Adobe Application Manager (AAM) keeps asking me for my system admin password.  Everytime I enter it, the window pops up again.  I could enter my password a dozen times, it won't begin any updates or installations.
    I have tried:
    shutdown and restart
    changing my admin password
installing non-Adobe software (to see if it was an OS X problem)
uninstalling all my Adobe software (same problem as trying to install)
I'd really like to be able to update my software.  Anybody know what to do?

Thanks Jeff!  That worked like a charm.  I've never enabled a root user, but now that I know that exists, I'll keep that in mind if I have any other installation issues (Adobe or otherwise).
A question remains - why is AAM being stubborn with my admin password?  If anyone knows, that'd be great, otherwise, I consider this answered.

  • Problems using Adobe Application Manager

I'm having problems signing in with Adobe Application Manager. Was working fine until yesterday, now it says it can't contact Adobe. I went through the help page (was able to access the adobe server site, etc.) but I was not able to resolve the issue. I am behind a proxy, however I've been able to connect every time until now. What other actions can I take to resolve this issue?

Thank you for responding. Funny enough, I had to restart my computer for a separte reason (which I should have done yesterday) and when I logged back in something must have gotten reset as the AAM is now working. As to your questions, I don't have the ext to the earlier error, only that it said couldn't connect to adobe. Also I have Version 7.0.0.233 (7.0.0.233) for reference.
