Reset HP Compaq NW8000 BIOS Administrator Password

Hi All,
I have just pulled an old laptop out of storage to use as a home computer, but when I tried to fix the BIOS settings it came up with a Administrator Password that I cannot remember.
No problem I thought I'll try;
Removing the CMOS battery and Security Module and wait 5 mins and try again...no luck...OK.
Removing the CMOS battery and Security Module and wait 30 mins and try again...no luck...OK.
Removing the CMOS battery and Security Module and wait 1 hour and try again...no luck...really...OK.
Removing the CMOS battery and Security Module and wait over 24 hours and try again...no luck...**bleep**!
So I pulled the whole machine apart to find a jumper set on the motherboard and broke the Blue Tooth module in the process...no jumpers and now I have to resolder the module...awesome!
So next I tried the BIOS Password Backdoor hack from http://dogber1.blogspot.com.au/2009/05/table-of-reverse-engineered-bios.html but could not get the 'hash' code to appear...crap.
So I tried the www.cgsecurity.org/wiki/CmosPwd tool...it seemed to work as per the instructions, but then when I went back into the BIOS it asked for an Administrator Password again.
I am fresh out of ideas of what I need to do!
Does anyone know if this particular model has a Master Administrator Password or is there a backdoor entry method I can use?

KNRK is correct.
There could be one thing to look for.
Look under the memory." Remove any plastic that may cover the motherboard."
See if you find anything that looks like this.
If it is there use small flat head screwdriver to short the contacts.

Help Factory Resetting!!

Hello, Recently i have tried to factory reset my Compaq Pressario PC SR5710Y. Every time it gets to 48% a message appears saying "error 1005. If the error persist contact HP Support" and im wondering what can i do about this problem.

Hello jack867!: since you can't get your machine's recovery past 48%
hopefully you either have Master Recovery media ordered from HP
2. Made Recovery Media from Recovery Manager included in the computer
try again by detaching all your hardware that's attached except your rodent & keyboard & follow what you see on your screen
because it's likely that the partition is damaged
in c.40 minutes you should have a normal desktop
immediately run scandisk to see if there's no latent HD issues lurking
3. if you own a full fledged retail copy of Windows in addition to doing the aformentioned
go to the Web page pertaining to the model model & download all the drivers that are part of your computer following what ever you see on the web bage

Reset bios passwornd on old Compaq NX7300

Hi everyone,
I need to reset the bios password on old Compaq NX7300. This notebook is of my friend.
I tried to reset password removing for one night the backup battery, the PSU cable and the CMOS battery located under the keyboard but without success. With this operation I only reset the bios (It asked me for set time and date) but not the password, probably is under a different chip.
My friend know the access password but not the bios password.
I tried to enter in bios with "common password" but after three times it locked itself and show me an "*".
Someone know a different procedure to reset?

As far as I know Bios password cannot be set from alone. If the BIOS password is not known to me you need professional help. Toshiba service partner in your country can help you with this.
BIOS password is very important security feature and it cannot be discussed in public forum.
Contact nearest Toshiba ASP, explain the situation and they will help you with this.

Unfortunately, business machines such as Probooks or Elitebooks have more stringent security than consumer models - they don't produce 'halt codes', the password cannot be derived from the Serial No. and the code is stored in non-volatile memory so removing the RTC cell will not reset the password in this case.
If you Contact HP Business support, they should be able to send you a customised SMC.bin file which you can use at boot to reset the password.

Reset memory on hp compaq

Hi I have a problem with my HP Compaq dc7600: it flashes red and beeps 5 times. I've read to reset the memory but I don't know how. It has happened before and when I shake my computer a bit, it sometimes works after. But now it's really no use.

You have to shut down, unplug the PC, open the case, and remove and reseat (reset) each of the memory modules to make sure they have a nice snug connection into the memory slots.

I need to do a factory reset I have tried the F11 and just get a restore.
I hac a presario cq60 with the presario set up on the D drive.

restore = reset....keep going with the F11 thing it will take you back to Day 1, you understand, right?
