Resetting old iPad and stop syncronization between the old and the new one.

I have two iPads. They are synced. I want to remove some info from the old one and stop synchronization. How to do it?

I would still erase the device and start all one again. The new user can still sign into the Apple ID and download all of the purchased content again and if you erase the device you don't have to worry about deleting the email accounts, the iCloud account and all of the private things that you don't want to share.
But, if you don't want to erase the device, at the very least you will want to delete your iCloud account from the iPad and delete your email accounts as well. You don't want to sync contacts, calendars and those sorts of things with the new user - correct? So you might as well delete your iCloud account from the iPad. The new user can setup their own iCloud account if they want one. And obviously you want to remove your email accounts from the iPad  as well.

You want to restore from the backup. Do not set up as new. You can read the article that Tom posted above, but it really is pretty simple.
Transfer any purchases from the old iPad into iTunes, backup the old iPad in iTunes and them sync one more time.
Connect the new iPad and when prompted during activation, restore from the backup that you just created and then sync with iTunes.
The new iPad should be identical to the old iPad, but you will have to enter some passwords again on the new device.
    Transfer purchases.

  • Ok so I have an iPod touch 4 and I want to get an iPad but don't know if I should get the iPad 2 or wait for the new one. I am 14 years

    iPad 2

Well, it depends how long you can wait. We can't discuss rumors on here about release dates.
Look at what you actually need though and decide how soon you need something.
What you'll want to realize is that every year or two something new will come out.. so you have to learn to fight off the "I need the new one" bug if you want to be satisfied with your purchase.  At your age you probably won't get the opportunity to upgrade for a while, so you'll have to learn to live with your purchase decision longer.
If the iPad 2 in it's current state does everything you want, and you enjoy playing around on it a lot, I'd get it now and be happy.  If you feel like you want the newest of the new and are willing to wait (in line and for it to release) then you should wait for the next release.
The iPad 2s are finally becoming available after many months backlog, so keep in mind the next release will likely be the same way and think if you could really wait that long to get something.
Alternatively you could also consider getting a used iPad 1, then use that while waiting for the next version. The used one could then be resold for a fair amount once the new one comes out. Apple products tend to have a pretty good resale value, and the iPads are extraordinarily popular.

  • Please answer, if i buy an iPad and a newer one comes out.

Say i were to buy the new iPad, and next year a newer iPad comes out. could i return my previous iPad and get the newer one? or what would happen? Please answer!

    no.
Maybe if you were one of those people that bought a 2 right before the 3 came out and it fell within that 14 day return period. There may have also been cases of people benefitting from a sympathetic store manager, but I can't take my iPad 2 back to Best Buy and swap it out for a 3. THey'd laugh at me if I tried.
In the same way you can't buy a model 2 TV and then swap it out for free for a model 3 TV a year later.
There is no 'lifetime free upgrade to the latest hardware' option.

  • Apple sent me a new iPod touch to replace the one that stopped working. The new one has the same problem as the old one. Should I send it back?

I bought an iPod touch 4th genertion in August 2013. About 3 weeks ago, iTunes told me an update was available for my iPod so I clicked update. It then said it had detected an iPod in recovery mode and I had to restore my iPod. I tried to restore it when another pop up appeared saying an unkown error occured and it was unable to restore my iPod. I talked to someone on the online help page and they said I needed to talk to someone on the phone because it was too complicated to explain. The first person I spoke to on the phone could not identify my problem so she got her supervisor who said I needed to send it in for repair. I sent it in and yesterday I received a brand new iPod in the mail with a letter saying they could not fix my old iPod and this was a replacement. I plugged the new iPod into my computer to restore it and everything was fine. It said my software was not up to date so I clicked update and the exact same thing happened with the new ipod. It told me to restore my iPod and then said it was unable to be restored. They replacement arrived yesterday. Should I send it back?

What is the exact wording of the error message? It may be that there is a problem with your computer and is causing the problem, not a problem with the iPod.

  • Why is my iPad (3rd gen) so slow on wifi? My other 2 iPads are blazing fast but the new one is slow on the same network, Why.

I have all three ipads. My home wifi gets 30 mbps speed. Every device in the house is really fast. However, the Newest iPad (4G, 64G) is very slow on any wifi. 4G works acceptably fast, but the wifi is very slow. I've restarted, resynced, reset, restored, and this dosn't help.  Any ideas?

    Additional things to try.
Try this first. Turn Off your iPad. Then turn Off (disconnect power cord) the wireless router & then back On. Now boot your iPad. Hopefully it will see the WiFi.

  • If you replace an ipad 2, will you get the new one?

    Just wondering

Perhaps so.  My Dad experienced the same with his iMac.  That being said, I suspect both are very unusual circumstances and I've never heard that done with any iOS device.  I have heard much of the opposite... people always get the exact replacement.  In any case, the user should not expect a 'free upgrade' as it's only very remotely possible.

  • I have an Ipad first generation with IOS 5.1.1. and I have just got a new ipad mini. Should I use the back up of the old Ipad from Itunes copy to configure the new one, or it is better to configure the new one from scratch?

Contrary to the opinion above, I see no reason whatsoever why you can't set up the new iPad from the backup of the old one. Obviously you will have app updates to make and complete and that sort of thing, but if you want to retain all of your app data and device settings (some of which will change because of the updated iOS), I would certainly restore from the backup first.
If you find that to be problematic, you can always start all over again.

  • What is the difference between the new and old ipad mini case?

I was wondering what the difference is between the old ipad mini case and the new one which came out with the ipad mini with retina display?

I just bought an iPad Mini case for my iPad Mini with Retina Display, and it DOES NOT FIT...  This particular case has a hard plastic cradle for the iPad to fit into and it does not wrap around the edges enough to hold it in...  I am shocked at how snug these cases will fit, even though there is only a 0.01" difference in thickness...  So again, I repeat, an iPad Mini with Retina Display WILL NOT FIT into the first gen iPad Mini case!

  • I got a new e-mail address and I reset my iPod so it already has the new email address. I can't seem to change the address on my iPad or iPhone. Please help me change the address on all my devices!

I got a new email address and I reset the iPod so it already has the new address. I can't seem to change the address on my iPhone5 or iPad. So please help! How do I change the address for my apple ID and icloud on all my devices? I don't want to reset my iPad and phone just to set new email address I can't do updates without the password and I have forgotten my password for my old email address. Please Help! Getting frustarted!

If the old ID ("email address") is yours, and if your current ID was created by editing the details of this old ID (rather than being an entirely new ID), go to https://appleid.apple.com, click Manage my Apple ID and sign in with your current iCloud ID.  Click edit next to the primary email account, change it back to your old email address and save the change.  Then edit the name of the account to change it back to your old email address.  You can now use your current password to turn off Find My iDevice, even though it prompts you for the password for your old account ID. Then save any photo stream photos that you wish to keep to your camera roll.  When finished go to Settings>iCloud, tap Delete Account and choose Delete from My iDevice when prompted (your iCloud data will still be in iCloud).  Next, go back to https://appleid.apple.com and change your primary email address and iCloud ID name back to the way it was.  Now you can go to Settings>iCloud and sign in with your current iCloud ID and password.

Have you copied your content over from your old computer and onto the new on ? If not, and you still have your old computer, then there a number of methods described on this page which you can use to copy your library over : http://support.apple.com/kb/HT4527 . If you no longer have your old computer then have you got a backup of your content that you can copy onto the new computer and add into iTunes ?

  • I use iBookAuthor to make a textbook for my students; I revised it, including title page, but when I export it and upload it to my iPad, the old title page appears, even though I've deleted the older version of the text before I upload the new one.

Last year I produced a textbook using iBookAuthor for my students. I exported it as an iBook and they uploaded it to their iPads. This year, I revised it, including revising the title page. However, when I upload the new version, the old title page is shown, not the new one. I deleted the older version of the textbook before I did this. I've been told that I can cut and paste each revised chapter into a new template and that will work; however, title page and glossary can't be cut and pasted. Any thoughts for getting the entire new version on the iPad? I'm also told that if it is uploaded to an iPad that never had a previous version of this textbook, it will upload correctly. But my iPad has had several older versions, now deleted.

I had a similar issue when trying to create an iBook file to submit for course credit for one of the Apple Learning Essentials classes I took. I had a book I'd started previously which I updated and submitted, and then had to make some edits to for the course evaluator. I made the edits, and when I previewed the book in iBooks Author, it looked correct, but whatever I sent to him only showed some of the edits - for example a new page I created was there, but some edits I made to image captions and the title page image were not.
What worked for me was to do a "Save as" of the actual Author file to a totally new location (I used the Desktop), and then submit that file - which seemed to work in terms of the changes sticking. I even used the same file name.
I'm not sure if some similar action might help you (maybe change the file name slightly?) or if you've already tried something like this.
Still doesn't change the fact that this is a pretty irritating bug.

  • I have two apple id's because my hotmail account is no longer active. How can I delete the old one and use or update the new one?  Every time I try it won't allow me and now my iPad thinks there are two accounts and they are arguing with each other. Help!

You can't merge accounts or copy content to a different account, so anything that you bought or downloaded via the old account is tied to that account - so any updates that those apps get you will only be able to download via that account. You can change which account is logged in on the iPad via Settings > Store
