Resetting user name and password encrypted in printer memory

How do I reset my HP printer 8600 N911 series name and password? I have no record in my passwords file that I ever had to set up a name and password, and now I can not use my network folder set-up without one. Thanks.

Hi,
Reset the printer may help you to clear the old password and set a new one. Please use the following instructions:

  • Reset user name and password

I bought a macbook air from best buy as an open item.  The previous owner must have set up a user name and password.  I try to download adobe but it wont let me bc of the previous username and password.  How do I master reset that.  Thank you

I had a Genius Bar appointment on Saturday for one reason, and one reason only.
I wanted buy a Lion thumbdrive for my mid 2011 MBA (which comes with Lion), and wanted to know for a fact that it would work on my unit. I had asked a question in the Apple online store Q&A, what version was being used on these Lion thumbdrives and was answered by a user that it was 11A511. Someone else in the Q&A's had asked whether it would work on the 2011 MBA's, and someone answered that it could. Whoever moderates those Q&A's had marked both answers as being correct. But in fact, the two answers completely contradict one another.
So, I went to the Genius Bar to see if could find out the real answer.
First, I asked if it would work. The Genius Bar technician first treated my question as irrelevant. He waned to contend that with the Recovery Partition, the disk was completely unnecesary, as one could simply repair any installation with their own drive. I countered with the scenario that I wanted the drive in case of a hardware failure that would leave the Recovery Partition damaged or non-existent, such as with a new drive. He countered with that I should then use the Recovery Assistant created "rescue drive", I could then download Lion and install it to a new SSD.
I incisted that I wanted the drive to be something that would permit me to be completely self-sufficient, even without an internet connection.
It was only then that he ceded to my request to find out if the build number was sufficient to use on my MBA. He both confirmed that it was build 11A511 (actually 11A511a), and that it was a build that DID NOT have the necessary components to work on either a mid 2011 MBA or a mid 2011 Mac Mini, as they require 11A2063 & 11A2062, respectively.
I asked if he had any knowledge as to when Apple might revise the disk offering to a later build or even the now current 10.7.1, and he had no information on the subject (after he consulted with other store personnel).

  • PRINTER USER NAME AND PASSWORD

Pproduct:  HP Photosmart Premium c309a      OS: Windows 7   Error Message: Need printer's User Name and Password
Trying to print from my iPhone I am asked for printer User Name and Password.  Where do I find them?

I checked the link, I only see B210a, C310a, C510a printers but not C309a. But at least now you know which printers would be capable of eprint feature.

  • HP 8600 User Name and password

HP service is not good.  I need to find/reset my user name and password...wont allow me to scan to email...how do this?

    Hello tfurey58,
    Welcome to the HP Forums.
If you would like to reset the user name and password on the printer, the easiest way to do this would be to Restore Network Defaults on the printer.
From the home screen on the printer, use the right arrow key and go to the Setup menu. Navigate to the Network Menu and then scroll down the menu until you see Restore Network Defaults.  Follow the prompts to restore the network.  Once it is complete, you will then need to go through the Wireless Setup Wizard.
You will be prompted to in put a user name and password once again to gain  connection to the network.
If the troubleshooting does not help resolve your issue, I would then suggest calling HP's Technical Support to see about further options for you. If you are calling within North America, the number is 1-800-474-6836 and for all other regions, click here: click here.

  • Is encrypted user name and password specific to a user name/password

If I run the essmsh -gk to get the public and private encrypted user name and password, is that resulting encryption specific to my user name and password? My user name and password is set to expire, just curious if the encrypted user name and password is still valid after my username/password expiration
    Thanks

yes it is specific to the username and password, so if the password changes then you will get an invalid login credentials error message when you run the maxl script.

  • Hi, My problem is I cannot connect my apple tv to my account, the user name and password are definitely correct, I upgraded the software, reset the device, but no chance. What should I do?

Hi, My problem is I cannot connect my apple tv to my account, the user name and password are definitely correct, I upgraded the software, reset the device, but no chance. What should I do?

    Try this:
Reboot device by pressing both the home button and sleep/wake (power) buttons at the same time for 10-15 seconds until the apple logo appears on the screen, then let go.
If that doesn't work then reset the device by going to settings/general/reset/reset all settings  (or for network connection issues 'reset network settings').
(no media or data will be deleted from the device, this will only take a minute).

Ok, when I go into my Apple ID account, everything looks right.  It does show my user name.  It's only on the iPod that it shows my husband's previous user name, and it asks for his password.  Everything in iTunes and my account looks right.  The issue only seems to be with the actual device, iPod Touch 4th gen.
There is more than one way to access the Apps Store and the iTunes store.  One is via iTunes on your computer, and the other is via the apps on your iPod.
Just because you are logged in on your computer does not mean you are logged in on your iPod.
The reason your husband's user name comes up is because he was the last one to log on.  You can change that by going to Settings>Store.  Tap the Apple ID, Tap Sign Out, Tap Sign In, Tap Use Existing Appel ID, enter your e-mail address and Apple ID password, and tap OK.

  • User Name and Password for JCO RFC call to BAPI

    Hi all,
    What I think I know:
--We do NOT have Single Sign On configured so don't tell me to use SSO please - I agree, but...
--We have a requirement to do a goods receipt which prints labels for the handling units
.....The printer to which the labels are directed depends on the user who is running the transaction
    What I think this means
--We will need to specify a user name and password in the RFC call so the label will go to the correct printer
--I cannot use the IllumnLoginPassword (or whatever its name is) for the password
--I need to prompt the user for their password a second time after they login to our MII app
    The problem
--I will need to store the password somewhere for the duration of the session
......In session variable that has been encryted
.............I didn't see an encryption action block so I could create my own
......In the database using database column encryption
.............A little bit of a pain, but not too bad
Any corrections, alternatives, ideas .... ???
    Thanks,
    --Amy Smith
    --Haworth

Thanks for the attention guys.  A little clarification.
    1.  I have been assuming that I cannot use the IllumnLoginPassword for the JCO SAP password in the action block.  If this is NOT true, then it solves my whole problem.
    2.  It would not work to prompt a shop floor person for their password every time they do an operation completion.  Well, at least
if I don't want to not get lynched!
    3.  I am planning on prompting people every time they log on for their ECC password and retaining it somewhere secure while they are logged on (and longer if they skip the logoff step.)
    4.  I have been focusing on how/where to retain the password, but also need a way to encrypt it during transmission.  Jeremy said the applet/BLS would at least encode it for me.  That is good.

  • User name and password required to access Security settings

I have an HP5520e all in one printer. I am trying to set it to scan to my computer. The instructions say I should activate Webscan from the Administrator Options under Settings and Security. When I try to get to Administrator settings I am being asked for a user name and password. What username and password am I supposed to enter here?

    gnomad899,
    Welcome to the HP Forum.
    Start with the standard:
    admin = admin
password = password  (or leave it blank)
This assumes, of course, you have not used EWS (embedded web server) and set a password for it previously -- which you CAN do while using EWS.  Once you do set a password using the EWS page, everytime you want to look at certain settings, adjust certain settings, you have to enter the password you set up.
EWS is simply the web page interface to the printer -- like you use a web page to talk to your router software.  Same thing - sort of, except you type in the printer IP on your browser instead of the router, of course.
    ============================================================================
If it won't let you in,
You can try resetting the printer.   Be Aware that should you do this, you have to re enter any previously entered information (wireless settings, etc.).
You might be able to reset the printer on the front panel  - settings > factory defaults (or similar).
    OR
from TroubleShooting > Solve a Problem > Printer Does Not Maintain Wireless Connection

Follow these steps to reset your printer, your wireless router, and your computer.
Press the Power button on the printer to turn it off.
Disconnect the power cord from the rear of the printer.
Disconnect the power cord from the wireless router.
    Turn off the computer.
    Wait 30 seconds.
Reconnect the power cord to the wireless router.
Wait 30 seconds, or until the router is fully on and ready.
    Turn the computer back on.
Wait for the computer to reload.
Reconnect the power cord to the rear of the printer.
    Turn the printer back on.

  • Time Capsule won't accept my user name and password for access - Help!

    Hi all,
My Time Capsule seemed to stop working one day and I had to do a hard reset with the little button at the back. After that it worked and I restored my wireless network settings but now I can't access the Time Capsules hard drive with Time Machine.
When I try to choose it as my Backup Disk in the Time Machine preferences it says "Enter your user name and password so Time Machine can access the file server "Our Time Capsule" (the name of my time capsule). However, every time I try to enter my password I get "Sorry, you entered an invalid username or password".
I've already tried several resets of the Time Capsule and I've also tried logging on my computer as the Root user and changing my administrator account password back and forth but no go.
    Help! and Thanks.

    Norman & Harry,
    Consider the following:
*_Time Capsule Keeps Asking Me For a Password_*
It will be important to know what is going on, or what you are doing when it asks for the password. Is it asking for a password only when Time Machine attempts a backup? Consider this:
It is NOT your username and password it wants when you try accessing the Time Capsule. (I know... it SAYS "username and password") But it means the Time Capsule's Name and Password.
You will find that by launching Airport Utility.
Select the TC on the left.
    Click "Manual Setup".
    Click the "Time Capsule" Tab.
You will see "Time Capsule Name:" and "Time Capsule Password".
Make sure “Remember password in keychain" is checked.
That is the information you need to enter when it asks for "username & password."
*I Don’t Remember What My Time Capsule Password Is*
You can see what your current TC password is by going into Keychain.
Open your Keychain and select "login" from the Keychains pane in the top left. Highlight "Passwords" in the Category pane from the lower left.
Sort all the items by Kind. Note everything labeled "Airport...". How many do you have listed? There should only be one "Airport base station password" for each base station that you have active. Also, there should only be one "Airport network password" for each network you have created. If there are more than these, then delete all but the ones with the most recent Modification date.
To see what passwords are being stored, double-click your Time Capsules' entry. A new window will appear.
Put a check beside "Show Password". You may be asked for your own Admin password so enter that.
Now the Password field will display the password you entered into Airport Utility for your Time Capsule
*It Still Won’t Accept the TC Name and Password*
Launch Airport Utility --> Manual Setup.
Select "Disks" in the tool bar above.
    Click the "File Sharing" tab.
Is "File Sharing" checked? It should be.
What is selected beside "Secure Shared Disks"? If it says "With Accounts" or "With a Disk Password" then the system will ask you for a password every time it mounts the TC hard disk. If you switch it to "With Time Capsule Password" then use the password you designated earlier in the “Time Capsule" tab. It should only ask you once and then never again - because you had checked "Remember password in keychain".
If you have made any changes then click "Update".
Let us know if this resolves your issue.
    Cheers!
