Resize a PDF

I need to know how to resize a PDF document

It also depends on what you mean by resize. Mylenium has addressed on meaning. Along the same idea, you can also resize by printing to a new PDF, selecting the page size, and setting to shrink or expand to fit. This refry process is generally not recommended (you lose all bookmarks and tags), but it might meet your needs.
If you are talking about the memory size of the file, you can try Reduce File Size or PDF Optimize in the Save As menu (AA X and later -- other places for earlier versions).
So what do you mean by resize?

  • No Longer Able To Resize Images (PDF Attachments)

I recently upgraded to Snow Leopard and am now unable to resize my PDF attachments once they are within an email.
Maybe I'm missing something, but in the older version of Mail / Leopard I was able to easily resize my attached PDF's on the fly by simply adjusting their size from a drop-down menu in the lower-right corner of the email window by selecting: Image Size: "Small" "Medium" "Large" or "Actual Size."
To the best of my knowledge, this window no longer exists for PDF's, although it is still available for attached JPEG resizing.
I am deeply invested into using and resizing PDF's in my workflow and would like to regain this ability.
Any suggestions or solutions for this dilemma would greatly be appreciated.
    Thanks,
    John

Please check this further -- make sure you open the PDF with a PDF reader in a copy either sent to yourself or in the Sent mailbox. Do not base the resolution on what you see if it is a one page PDF, and Mail is displaying it in the message with View in Place. The View in Place is not the full story.

  • How can I resize a pdf page content with annotations and highlights in Acrobat Pro?

How can I resize a pdf page content with annotations and highlights in Acrobat Pro while maintaining page size and annotation/highlight interactivity? I've tried to use the crop tool in Acrobat Pro (9) and the page does resize, but the highlights and annotations go all over the place. I specifically need to scale the page content smaller (83%) but maintain page size and annotation/highlight to content connection and interactivity.

An old trick (not recommended) would be to print to a new PDF with the page size selected but a scaling of the content. Only print the document, not the markup, to a new PDF. Close that PDF when done and reopen the old one (or maybe a copy of the old one for safety) and use Document Replace pages and select the new document to replace your current pages. You will then have to go back through the markup to locate it all correctly. There may be a more elegant way, but this may be the fastest.

  • How does I resize a pdf file page using Acrobat Pro?

In Acrobat Pro, how can one resize a pdf file page (21.38'' x 26.75'') into one measuring 6'' x 9'', to be submitted as the trim size? Is there a feature that allows this to be done? How does one set all print options from the Application print dialog box to enable one to adjust the dimensions of any customized file page?

I want to scale the 21.4'' by 26.8'' content down to one that can be fitted inside a 6'' by 9'' book.
I have this pdf that was created from the InkFlow app, and I'm using Acrobat Pro to merge three files into one (about 300MB), which I needed to submit to Amazon's CreateSpace, but they needed the trim size of 6'' by 9'', while the pdf is 21.4''' by 26.8'', and I can't amend the source file size of the InkFlow files.
I tried fiddling with the Crop and Print options, but I'm unable to resize the pdf to match the trim size. The problem on my side isn't so much on printing but to resize the pdf file page to 6'' by 9'' to satisfy Amazon's requirement for their trim size. Could this be done with Acrobat Pro? The message that appears is: Full print options of Acrobat Pro, set all print options from the Application print dialog box. Thank for the help.

  • How to resize a pdf file?

I have Adobe Acrobat 7.1.0 Standard. I regularly send pdf files via e-mail and when the file is too large I can’t send it.
    1 - Can I resize a pdf file to a smaller size?
2 - If so, How do I do that?
    Thanks for any help,
    Crockett12

When a file is too large to send by email there are many sites that will host the file for you. You can then send a link to the file. Google will host files, there is also a site called acrobat.com . There are other sites that specialize in the temporary hosting of files and will erase the file after a limited amount of time.
You can also break the file into sections by extracting the pages say 50 or 100 at a time and then just send the individual sections.

  • Resize a PDF File

    Hi all.
I have created a multi-page PDF document containing text and images which I want to send to a printer.
The printer has told me that the page sizes are too big and that part of the content will be cropped in the print process and that I must resize the pages to within the trim and bleed lines.
How do I do this - are the trim/bleed lines things I can add retrospectively - i.e., after the document has been created - how to I reduce the actual dimensions of the printable area of the pages to fit within those lines?
    Many thanks,
    DaveH

    I show an A4 as being 210mm x 297mm
The facility (seems to be allowing bleeds and is trimming 2mm all four sides) requesting a page size of 214 x 301.
    You could define an
215.9 x 279.4 is US Letter size - what does Acrobat show as your page size?
If your page size is US letter - From Acrobat's Crop Pages Panel - you would first need to add height from the Custom Page Sizes, than Crop left & Right.
This screen shot is after I had added height.
The measures may need to adjusted for your local preferences and/or the 2mm bleed.
Toggle the All radio button in Page Range.
(Vent - You should use a printer whom you can talk to and will fix this.)

  • Resizing a pdf document

    Can anyone help?
I have a PDF document, which I've sent as artwork for printing, but I need to resize it?
    Help?

You mean to a different size in inches or mm?
This isn't something Adobe Reader can do and it isn't even something Adobe Acrobat can do easily.
Generally, you should create it at the required size before making the PDF.

  • How can I resize the PDF I created with a magazine template?

Hello! I used a template that`s a different size than what I need. How can I resize (make it smaller) the PDF that I just created with this magazine template?

So you picked a template in A4 format, and now you need letter. The printer can scale the PDF to 11" and it will get even narrower, leaving large margins. Does it have bleeds? That woudl be a disaster.
Frankly, the best thing is to start over using the correct page size, but you can go to File > Document Setup... in ID and change the shape of the exisiting file. Expect to do a lot of work moving and resizing objects and refitting the type.

  • Resizing a PDF in numbers

When Ready to send a file over email and choosing PDF, it resizes the document and give me anywhere from 6-12 pages from 1. Anyone know how to resize this?

    "Unless I'm missing something?"
Just the door to the iWork for iOS community, a more appropriate place to post this question. Your original post was to the Numbers (for Mac OS X) community, where not many of us are familiar with the iOS version of Numbers.
I've requested your post be transferred.

  • Help! I tried to resize a PDF earlier. Now, none of my PDF's will open correctly.

They now all have jiberish on them.  How do I return to the original default setting? I tried a system restore, but to no avail. The screen has a bunch of gibberish and wierd fonts.

Hi! Thanks for responding. I am new to Windows 8, so I don't know how to make a screen shot, but it goes to a gray screen. The words on top say, "Select a coding that makes your document readable.  The choices are Windows, MS Dos,  and others. There is a white box with lots of computer language that I can't read...
I actually tried to re-size the PDF, but I was unsucessful. In clicking around, I must have changed a setting.
    Thanks for your help!

  • Please HELP I need to resize a PDF I have Professional 7

I was given a PDF 4" inches tall by 6" inches long.   All I had to do is to increase the size to 5 and 1/8"  inches tall x 8 and 3/4" long.  I do not have access to the original file that created this PDF. So I was hoping that anyone would know if Professional 7 Arobat could help resixe the pdf.  The customer is all over me right now and time is running short.
Any help would be so appricated.

First things first. You cannot change the  4 by 6 pdf file to 5 1/8 by 8 3/4 by scaling uniformly on both axes. You will distort the content of the file.
Second, Acrobat can change the 4 by 6 pdf file to 5 1/8 by 8 3/4 without distortion using the crop tool, however that will not change the viewable content in any meaningful way.
One question I have is why??? If the purpose is to print the file at a larger size, then you can set the page size of the paper to 5 1/8 by 8 3/4 and ask Acrobat when printing the file to scale the file. It will print the file to the best fit on that size paper. If the purpose is to see the pdf file better, Acrobat supports zooming.
If you want to import the pdf file into another program for use almost any such program will support scaling the pdf file. So the question I have is what exactly to you want to change and why? Since it is not you who needs the file changed, I'd recommend asking the customer so that we can better estiimate what you need done.
Scaling can be done in a raster image program like Photoshop or Graphic converter at a cost of size and quality. If the original pdf file is a raster image file, then that may or may not be a problem depending upon the resolution of the original graphic file. If the file is a vector graphic file, then Illustrator may indeed be a better choice.
Quite a Back of Tricks and Enfocus Pitstop will also allow you to scale your pdf files as well. These very specifically are pdf editing tools that will do much more than scale pdf files.

  • How do i resize a pdf to make it bigger?

How can I save a pdf so that it is the fit visible size and not the actual size?

    Hi andrep,
If you just want to change the page display of the PDF, you can zoom in or out using the Zoom tool, or zoom option on the toolbar (both in Reader and Acrobat). If you want to change the actual size of the pages in the PDF file, you'd need to use Acrobat to re-create the PDF with a larger page size specified.
