Resize ALV Grid
Hi Folks ,
i'm using an alv grid in my program and might have change the initial size of it's custom container which seats above it .
is there any way that i can chnage the initial size (H/V) of it ?
i try via screen table but it can't cupture the custom container name within the loop .
you can use the set_alignment method of cl_gui_custom_container class for this

Resizing ALV Grid When Changing Screen Resolution
I have an ALV Grid imbedded in a custom container. I would like for the Grid to resize if the user switches from 1024x768 to 800x600 resolution. I obviously could size it for the lower res screen (and it would be ok on the higher res screen), but I ultimately would like it to resize. Does anyone know how to make this happen?
Is your Grid running within a custom container that was placed in the screen painter? If so this is very easy. Just make you screen very large (much larger then even 1024x768). When you lay down the custom container, make it large enough to fill the entire empty area. Your custom container should have a Resizing section in the attributes window. Just check on Vertical and Horizontal resizing and choose you minimum size.

I have written a functionality to display a report program using the CL_GUI_ALV_GRID class.
I need to add a functionality so that the scrollbars and the custom container area resize themselves dynamically if I am changing the window size of the window in which my ALV grid is displayed.
Any pointers in this direction will be very helpful.

The screen is getting displayed as expected. But I require to make this ALV screen to be resizable while it is displayed.
Have tried calling CALL METHOD v_mapbox->resize, before calling the V_MAPALV methods but it does not work.

ABAP objects are used to implement the controls in programs.
An SAP Container can contain other controls (for example, SAP ALV Grid Control, Tree Control, SAP Picture Control, SAP Splitter Control, and so on). It administers these controls logically in one collection and provides a physical area for the display.
Every control exists in a container. Since containers are themselves controls, they can be nested within one another. The container becomes the parent of its control. SAP containers are divided into five groups:
SAP custom container: Displays within an area defined in Screen Painter on screens or sub screens.
Class: CL_GUI_CUSTOM_CONTAINER
SAP dialog box container: Displays in a modeless dialog box or as a full screen. Class:
CL_GUI_DIALOGBOX_CONTAINER
SAP docking container: Displays as docked, resizable sub-window with the option of displaying it as a modeless dialog box. Class: CL_GUI_DOCKING_CONTAINER
SAP splitter container: Displays and groups several controls in one area - that is, splits the area into cells Class: CL_GUI_SPLITTER_CONTAINER
SAP easy splitter container: Displays controls in two cells, which the user can resize using a split bar. Class: CL_GUI_EASY_SPLITTER_CONTAINER.
In the control, you can adjust the column width by dragging, or use the 'Optimum width' function to adjust the column width to the data currently displayed. You can also change the column sequence by selecting a column and dragging it to a new position.

Dynamically change in size of the custom container using ALV GRID (OOPS)
Hi Gurus!!!!
I have an issue with the output of the report which is developed using ALV GRID (OOPS). I have used the custom container occupying full screen (Screen painter). When I execute the report using my PC the output displays report as expected in full screen. The problem is when we execute this report in 19 INCH monitor then there is always gap below the report.
As per my understanding we should have a code to change the size of custom container dynamically.
Please suggest some help on this.

If you set the attributes, Resizing - Vertical and Horizontal for the customer container, than system will resize the size of the custome continer as per the resolution.

ALV Grid with size of the whole screen
I need to create ALV Grid, that fits any screen. How can i do this?
I tried cl_gui_docing_container, but in the constructor it's possible to make it to occupy only 95% of the screen.If you are using a custom control on the screen and then a custom container you can easily do this.
Create a screen(Size 200 x 240), place a custom control on the screen and make it to the max size 200 x 240. Now in the attributes of the custom control, check the Resizing option for both horizontal and vertical, with some minimum numbers there.
Now, your ALV grid automatically occupies all the space available on the screen irrespective of the size if the screen and you will have only one scroll bar.

It may not be possible to resize the ALV grid using the methods of the CL_GUI_ALV_GRID. It would be possible through the methods of the custom container class CL_GUI_CUSTOM_CONTAINER because the grid id attached to the container. There is an event SIZE_CONTROL in the CL_GUI_CUSTOM_CONTAINER class which may be useful for you.

SandyYou don't have link the two containers.
I guess you have a grid and tree control that you want to display. So, use a different container for each of these controls, so that they appear differently.
If you don't want space in between them, you can have one container and split that into and display the tree and grid in each of the split portions.
The advantage with this will be you can resize the tree/grids using the vertical line that separates them.
Take a look at WE02 transaction to see what I am trying to explain.

I need vendor wise open items and cleared items in ALV Grid format in excel sheet.
I'm Trying that in T Code FBL1N, After the execution. I had select ALV Grid format like this From the menu bar->Settings-> Switch list.
After that i get ALV Grid format, Then i'm doing export the data to excel sheet. like this From the Menu bar->List->Export->Spread sheet.
That time i'm getting Error Message no. 0K064, Filter criteria, sorting, totals and subtotals are not taken into account.
I want vendor wise sorting totals and subtotals,
How can i over come this Error please let me now.

First try with ALV Grid and Abap Objects

this is my first try to write a simple report which just reads a textfile and display it in an ALV Grid. As a basis, I used some examples from SDN, but it did not work as expected

BUT, I'm not really sure, whether this is a good (correct) design. The report works the following way:
1. Read planning data form text file into internal table
2. Display the internal table
3. Convert the data and display the converted result
4. Post the converted data to the system
5. Display log with messages
The main thing is, I would like to know, do i really need two dynros, to display the two different internal tables or is it possible just to use one ALV-Grid? I was not able to find another solution. Any comment or help to the report is appreciated.

Can you please tell me how to set a update button in application toolbar of alv griv without suppressing it and how to write the code for that update button so that if I change my editable column data and press the update button my updated data should be stored in my database table.

Hi Experts,
How can we find out whether a data in an editable ALV grid has been changed or not.
I am using the
FM -> REUSE_ALV_GRID_DISPLAY_LVC
for ALV display.
I have to chekc whther data has been changed or not befor saving. if changed then only i want to
SAVE
. I cannot use the internal table comparison method for this purpose also i am not using OOP ALV.
So kindly sugest me an alternative.

But my scenario will not allow me for itab comparisons.I just want to know the ALV data has been changed or not.

This will come after the data was EDITTED and when SAVE was clicked by user in output scren.
Here now in the final internal table(ITAB) you can find the data changed in EDIT mode.

Hi All,
I diplayed an ALV grid with five fields in a classical report. I have already set the fieldcat for one field as wa_fcat_edit = 'X'. I am able to edit(modify) the data in that field. But I want to update the data into the database which is modified by me in that field. Can I update the data using BDC or any other procedure?
This is an urgent require ment for me. Please help me ASAP.
