Resize itunes window?

Hello:  for iTunes 10.6.3 on OS 10.5.8 ppc, is there a way to get the shrink corner to shrink down the iTunes window to a much smaller size?  With this new verson, the window is barely adjustable down, & takes up about 70% of an active screen on this 19 in. widescreen LCD.  I downloaded & installed sizewell but doesn't give this "shrinkdown" function.  Thanks.

I was not suggesting you change the monitor resolution. I simply wanted to know what it is set at to make "70% of active screen" relevant.

Would you kindly explain "bit smaller than the System prefs window." ?  Did you use terminal or 3rd party sw to get there?  Thank you.
I opened Apple menu - System prefs.
I can make the iTunes window a bit smaller than that.
It does not drag down any further.   It used to in older versions, which I may revert to.
Then something is wrong with your system. It's not iTunes. Going to an older version amy work but you will still have something wrong with your system.
Have you ran Disk First Aid and repaired permissions?

  • Problem resizing ITunes Window

Somehow my ITunes window has gotten supersized, adn I can't get to the bottom toresize it. Using the button only gives me an abbreviated ITunes window which can't be resized. What can I do?

I suspect you did NOT TRY what Niel suggested: I would guess you simply clicked the button. That does cause the window to shrink to the mini-player size. What Niel suggested is to Option click the button (hold down the Option key while you click on the button). This will cause the window to resize itself to fit the available screen space.

  • Resizing iTunes window

I recently used Migration Assistant to transfer documents and applications from my 19" iMac to my new 13" MacBook Pro. Once complete I opened iTunes and found that the window was so large that I am now unable to toggle it to a smaller size. I have tried resizing the window on my iMac and transferring again to my MacBook, I have tried deleted iTunes application from the applications folder and reinstalling, but to no avail.
    Any suggestions?
    Cheers,

  • ITunes: Window resizing

This might be a no-brainer, yet as a 20-year Mac guy I am confounded. I don't understand how to auto-resize iTunes window so all of it is visible on my MacBook Pro screen. This happens, for example, when I was using iTunes on a second, larger display, then minimized the application, and then disconnected that display from the Mac. When I maximize iTunes after disconnecting, the window is too large for the laptop display.
Anyone know how to resize the window so that it fits the dimensions of the laptop display, or to resize it so I can grab the resize handle and manually do it?
This is driving me kinda crazy.
    Thanks.

Thanks for the tips, but an AppleScript doesn't appear necessary. I found another thread in your referenced thread that suggests an Option-click on the green button. It worked fine!

  • How to resize the itunes window in mavericks?

How can I resize the itunes window in mavericks if the window is larger than the screen?
Since the window is larger than the screen I cannot use the scroll-bar anymore properly...
And since resizing is in the lower right corner that leaps out of the screen I can't resize it...
    any clues anyone?

  • ITunes window too long. Cannot resize it.

My iTunes window is too long on my screen. I cannot reach the bottom to shorten it, as it extends below the window border even after raising the window to the top of the screen. How can I shorten the window from below?
    Thank you.

Mountain Lion you can now resize windows from all 4 edges and all 4 corners.
Go to the top edge of the iTunes window till you see the down arrow then click drag the top edge of the iTunes window Dow.
Click in the title bar and drag the window up.
    Repeat as necessary.
Or Option click the green button at top left of the iTunes window.

  • Resizing the iTunes window

Apologies for the seemingly silly question, but i can't resize my iTunes window as the little square at the bottom right corner is below the dock, and i can't raise the window high enough to expose it as the top toolbar stops it.
The green button just shrinks the window into an unexpandable control panel.
    Any ideas?

*Option click* the green button at top left.

  • How can I resize my iTunes window if it's stuck?

    Hi,
Ever since I switched to the 15-inch Macbook Pro, my iTunes window doesn't fit in the actual screen and cuts off half way, showing only half of iTunes at a time. Because of this, I can't use the bottom-right corner to adjust it to the size I want and the dock keeps coming up when I get close to that area. It shrinks to regular size when I go on the full-screen mode, but as I'm usually multi-tasking this isn't feasible most of the time. Does anyone know how to fix this? I'd really appreciate help, as it's a bit annoying!
    Thank you in advance!

    Option-click the green button.

  • CRITICAL:  Program Error - iTunes window does not fit properly on my screen...

    Hello,
I have just installed the iTunes update and now I have a problem.  I have my task bar at the TOP of my screen, rather than at the bottom, which is more common.  Now, iTunes has written its own window into the area where my task bar would normally reside.  Not only that, but it is UNDER the task bar, so I cannot access it without auto-hiding the task bar.  Even when I do this, and resize the window, the iTunes Window goes back to taking up the full screen, except for the fact that it leaves a blank space at the bottom of the window, presumably for the task bars that are on the bottom.
How can I get this to be fixed, NOW???  I have just decided to start using iTunes regularly, outside of my normal iPhones usage, for music management.  I'm wondering if I should re-think this decision!  Help.

  • Anyone know how to resize a window in an application that has "grown" beyond the edges of the screen?

Suddenly in Illustrator, the workspace window is too big: it extends under the application menu bar so I can't access the top and move it, close it, or minimize it. The sides and bottom extend so far out to the edges of the screen that I can't access the resizing corner. Help!

Thanks, Mort, I tried that, but it didn't work...maybe because I was already in the highest resolution?
I saw advice to someone whose itunes window was too large. They suggested applescript code:
    tell application "Adobe Illustrator"
      set bounds of window 1 to {296, 97, 1394, 996}
    end tell
I replaced iTunes with illustrator, but got an error message:
    Adobe Illustrator got an error: Can’t set window 1 to {296, 97, 1394, 996}.
    thanks!

  • Unable to rescale iTunes Window (Mac OS)

Running iTunes 9.1.1 on a new MacBook Pro after having moved library from my old 15" macbook pro, I now find the iTunes window exceeds the width of my screen. And I do not see the bottom of the window, especially the resizing corner and the buttons for things like syncing are now within the dock.
    Help!

you can try to option click on the green button in the upper left corner of the window.
if this don't work, temporarily change screen resolution until you can grab the little resize button.

  • ITunes window can't be smaller than 1200x550 px, help please.

Yeah, so I just bothered with updating iTunes on my Windows 7 machine (that makes it 11.0.3.42), and now, I can't resize the window to get any smaller than 1200 pixel wide, and 550 pixel high. Annoying, as I like to split my screen in two, having some source of entertainment take up one half, and my workplace take up the other half. Any suggestions? Or is there nothing to be done? If so, it seems like a weird design choice.

Are you using iTunes in a langauage other than Engligsh, like Spanish? You might be seeing what David mentioned here -> iTunes 11.0.3 Can't resize window horizontally
Try changing the display language in iTunes to Eglish, you can use this as a guide -> iTunes: Changing the display language

  • How to resize a window?

I am looking for a keyboard shortcut to resize a window. There got to be one?
Why? I copied the entire iTunes folder from my MacPro to my MacBook Pro. Worked just fine except that the iTunes window on my MacBook was so tall that I couldn't get to the resize handle in the bottom right corner.
Had to run iTunes on my MacPro, make the window smaller, and copy the entire iTunes folder again to my MacBook. There's got to be a better way?
    Thanks for your help.

Try holding the Option key and clicking on the Zoom button. Anyway, if I have the iTunes window filling my big monitor, then drag to my smaller monitor and Option click the zoom, the main window resizes to fit the smaller monitor.

  • Can't fit iTunes window in monitor

I ugraded to iTunes 11.0.3 today and am having some odd behavior in the viewer. Currently cannot access lower right corner of viewer to control size of viewer window. I have toggled between mini viewer / standard & full screen. But still can't grab lower right of window which is bleeding off bottom of monitor.
Also, zoom slider does not work.
    I have a 15" MacbookPro (early 2011) OS-10.7.5 and am using a 30" cinema display

    Hello there JazzJunkie,
I notice that the forum this is posted in is iTunes for Windows, but I see you are using a Macbook Pro so I assume Windows is on a Boot Camp partition?
If so, then for newer versions of Windows you can drag the top of the window up to the top edge of the screen and it should resize the window automatically to fit properly.
If it is actually in the Mac OS that you cant see the lower right corner of iTunes, with 10.7 a new feature was introduced where you can resize the window from any edge or corner, not just the lower right corner. Also you can use the green button at the top left to switch between window sizes.
    Take care,
    Sterling

  • Change itunes window content size and layout

If I use any app, I can resize the window, and resize the contents.  And change between boxes and lists.  By clicking on the "view" tab on the toolbar menu.
Where is the information on how to change the view of the itunes app window on computer? I don't want huge boxes taking up 3/4 of my screen, that I have to scroll to even see.  I want lists, and a resizeable window LIKE ANY OTHER APP.  Cannot find ability to change this ANYWHERE!  Please!  What clever person thought this up and does apple at least give users the ability to change it??? And put it in the "view" toolbar menu, like other apps do, so we can find it?  Duh.  This takes up nearly my whole screen:
Other apps resize-for example this takes a space the size of the picture below:
Any help or tips appreciated.  :-)
