Resize photo and insert cutline

Using ID2 on on Mac G3.
Back when using Pgm I could resize photo proportionately by holding the shift key (restraint key) down and resize .. no problem.
Can't seem to do this in ID2. Have to go in and actually specify percents to resize.
Also having problem insert text cutline-caption under photo that have with text wrap. Trying to make separate text frame for cutline. Would increasing the distance for the wrap under my photo help. Would that allow me to insert a new cutline text frame there??
Silly questions I know, but I have never quite learned ID since I was Pgm user for many, many years and old habits are hard to break.

It is not at all clear what the photo shop is asking for - digital photos simply do not have CM - they are just bits - when printed (what the Photos Shop is doing) you set a size (just as you did when you printed to PDF) - no photo on a CD has any dimensions associated with it
As to sending PDF's - that is for the Photo Shop to tell you - typically I would expect them to want a JPEG or TIFF - not a PDF - but that would be specific to each shop
Is short if they have a specific preproduction work flow they need you to follow they will have to give it to you - no one but your Photo Shop knows what their requirements and capabilities are

This blue sky I want to remove, so I can only use the head with hair flying in another photo. Is it possible to simply delete this blue color of the sky?

Make your selection and then use Refine Edge.

  • How can I efficiently resize photos and add zooms to send to Premiere Elements

    Hi
I am regularly making DVDs in Premiere Elements V3 with about 200 pics from my  V5 Catalogue ,with  some zooms and then adding about a dozen edited video sequences, adding sound, transitions etc in premiere Elements. This is the normal profile of what I do
I now need to find a simple and efficient work flow  to do this.
What I am doing so far ( but it might have to change very soon when I upgrade to V7 depending on how compatible the versions are, and whether they offer better ways to do this) is
         Make Collection in Photoshop
Export to Folder  ( my folder destination for the resized images),  changing the resolution in the dialogue box
Then use that folder as source for Premiere.
    This works EXCEPT
Issue1        The order of the pics was changed ,and was not that in the Collection. This was done during the export phase, so seems to do with PS, rather than the import to PE. It seems random, not date etc
Isuue 2         Now how do I do my zooms, as currently this can only be done in slide show creation , I think,. And I don't think you can the save a slide show to file.
So I am getting a bit confused
At first I used "process multiple images", but it used an extra stage, first "export to file", then  "process Multiple files". This was not as quick but did retain the order.
So if there are suggestions on the best way to do this in general and for PE7and PS7 that would be helpful.
    Thanks
    Chris

update your mac to the latest and greatest lion software.  then you can photo stream wirelessly through wi-fi.  but that is about it.  and beware, lion has had many issues.  make sure you look at the comments people are making on the reviews page and make sure the problmes have been updated.  i have not upgraded yet, for i want to wait to see if they get all the bugs worked out before doing so.  been issues with losing information and firmware issues.

  • I there an app to take a photo and insert it into a column on Iphone, input several other columns on the run and then later downloade to my laptop?

May I take photo, insert into a spreadsheet, input info in several other columns; review and/or print; and download onto my laptop later?

You can play with the 'route' command in an Applications -> Utilities -> Terminal session to specify which route a specific IP address should take.
    man 8 route
Google can most likely give you examples you can use to specify routes.
Routes must be setup after each reboot.

  • Is there a way to resize photos while inserting them into an ibook project

when trying to insert a photo into an Apple book project, it often appears the photo is too large for the prescribed page squares....I am unable to zoom in because it seems to already zoomed beyond my particular requirement.
As well, has anyone ever been able to customize the pre-designed page layouts?
    Thanks

  • How do I resize photos to fit within Source or Program?

I was able to do so in Source or Program before but no longer able to. Using PP5.5. Just setup my editing system, using exact same equipment, after not in use for four months. I had edited other projects where I had to resize photos and was always able to resize within the Source or Program monitor.

Right-click any clip on the timeline and choose "Scale to Fit". Or set that up in Preferences (does not affect media already imported) so it is automatic. Can still be manually over-ridden on timeline on a per-clip basis. Easier than scaling a lot of stills one by one.
    Thanks

  • Resize photos option in Preview not working

I use Preview to resize my photos depending on where I'm posting or sending to. Since I've downloaded Yosemite I will resize photo  and it's not working. I have my photos in iCloud drive & am working between an iMac and a iMac Pro. I'm trying to resize to send out to  have printed vs. at home printing. This problem has only happened since upgrading to Yosemite. Any suggestions would be helpful.

    Resizing works fine here.
    Best practice is:
    Open image in Preview
Tools > Adjust size;    enter the new values and click OK
Press the option button then     File Save As give it a new name and save to desktop

  • Retrieving originals of resized photos

    In Photoshop Elements 4.0.
I used the "process mulitple files" function to resize several photos. I set it to process the "opened files" back to it's original location. The photos were resized and the files(photos) closed. In the past I would save as a copy the resized photo and close (without saving the changes) the full sized photos. This time the files(photos) closed and I am left with the smaller resized photos. Is there anyway of retrieving the full sized photos? I noticed a large (49MB) Photoshop Temp file in the Temp folder (C:\Documents and Settings\Primary\Local Settings\Temp). Is there anything that can be done with this? Trying to think what I might have done differently to have this happen. Used "opened files" setting, saved to same location?
    Thanks.

An empty folder would do it. I may have done that in the past. As I mentioned before I would save the resized as copies and close the originals without saving. As I work through having become a cautionary tale, trying to think what I did differently. The program through Task Manager showed it was not responding for some time. Hung up. The Organizer does this and I usually just wait it out. Wondering if it hanging up had anything to do with it? So looks like I'll have to live with the smaller pictures...

Add new photo to existing calendar folder in iPhoto

After arranging all the photos and captions I decided I wanted to insert a new photo -- one that was not in "2011 Pics." So I inserted it into the folder, but the picture does not show up on the scrolling menu of pictures at the left of the calendar-making page. This happened last year and in frustration I started all over again. But surely there is a way to add a new picture to a calendar that is already laid out.

Yes, the Old Master file has a folder for each year where I find all photos from that specific year. I am attaching a screen shot of the file.
In the meantime i have managed to download all photos (it did not download any video files though in mpg, avi, 3gp, m4v,mp4 and mov format) to a new iphoto library. Unfortunately the photos are quite mixed and often doubled up. I ma considering to purchase iphoto library which checks all duplicates in iphoto. this will save me a lot of time. What do you think?

  • How do I select and email a whole lot of photos on my iPad from my iPad emails? It seems I have to go into Email and then insert one photo at a time? Isn't there a way to select all in the photos and then email the batch.?

Actually, you can email up to 5 at a time from the Photos app. Select any more and the email share option will not appear.
If you explain why you need to email large numbers of photos, we might be able to offer an alternative.

I would also recommend to write the description into the meta data. This would allow to place a text frame above the image and it is possible to add meta information and file name automatically together with the image, when you place it or even in a prepared template.
Meta data information can be written easily in Bridge in the Meta File Workspace.

Rather than do that, which means starting over from scratch, losing all your edits, organisation and so on, why not simply use iPhoto Library Manager to revert the Library to the older version? Easier, less destructive.
The instructions on that are here
If you really want to start over: you can access the Originals folder simply by going to your Pictures Folder and finding the iPhoto Library there. Right (or Control-) Click on the icon and select 'Show Package Contents'. A finder window will open with the Library exposed.
