Resize photos in batch mode for slideshow on DVD

I have several folders of pics that I exported from iPhoto. They are all different sizes. Is there an easy way to change all the sizes to make them easier to work with in other applications in terms of making a slideshow that will eventually output to DVD? I just know that some of the pics are really big and I will have to go in and resize every single one of my 150 pics!!! I am hoping I can just highlight all the pics and make the change to a video friendly size instead of doing them one by one.

All you need to do is make sure they are cropped to the 4:3 ratio. If they are of other size ratios, like 4x6, etc., and you do an automatic resize you could lose portions of the image that you don't want. You can go thru them pretty fast as follows:
1 - bring up the first image into the edit window and set the crop size to 4:3 (DVD), keeping as much of the image in the crop area as possible.
2 - hit the Enter key followed by the right arrow key on the keyboard.
3 - adjust the crop area on the next photo, hit the Enter key and Right arrow key.
4 - repeat until all photos have been cropped to the 4:3 ratio.
This video gives an idea of how fast you can crop the photos.
The video shows using the cursor to click on the Apply button and the Forward arrow in iPhoto but it goes faster if you use the keyboard combination I mentioned above.

  • How to resize JPG in batch mode

I am using Premiere Pro CS5 to assemble several 60 minute videos.  Each video has 20 to 30 JPG slides that need to be added to the timeline.  The JPG pictures are all the wrong size, so I am resizing with a program that does not do batch mode and is taking way too much time.  Is there a way or a different program that will do this in batch mode?

  • Need Expert Help.....Photoshop to slice pages in half Batch mode

I've searched everywhere for a solution to this, but in vain. Pls. Help...
I have taken digital images (color) of a few pages from a printed book. These are all double pages (2 facing pages in 1 shot). Pls. see the attached sample image. http://www.box.net/shared/ay2rqjp317
I want to use Photoshop (Elements 6 / CS 3 or above) to AUTOMATE the following :
    1. Cut the single image (of two facing pages) into 2 single page images. (Also if you could suggest a way that picture be split (in batch mode) to NEARLY FIT the single page dimensions of the book).
    2. Straighten the resulting single page image (to look NEARLY like a flat eBook - with text in ALMOST straight lines).
    3. If at all possible, Remove imprint of fingers (seen bottom of the pic- finger holding pages flat- I've held the same place in all images).
    4. Convert color image to black and white, to remove unnecessary details.
    5. CREATE A BATCH process of all above steps, so it can be done for the 30 or so double pages I have, creating 60 single pages.
After step 5, I will run Omnipage to OCR text from all pages (This is simple, I can do it) and create a clean B&W book type PDF of 60 pages or so.
Its really important that I do the batch mode for all...this is beacuse in sucesssive projects, I need to digitize a few pretty old books.
At wikihow, I fdid find some useful info, but not for STEP 1 to 3, which are crucial. I'm reproducing that info here, if someone wants to incorporate that into approach they suggest for me.
Pls. Help...I'm just an amateur with Photoshop. Thanks a ton..
    -------------------- Notes from WikiHow ---------------
4 # Create a processing action: Photoshop (any version) is a good software for processing, but other software may work just as well. To save file size and increase readability, you want to strip out as much extra color information as possible. You can automate this process: Start recording a new action. Then select Image>adjustments>threshold to convert to black and white - drag the cutoff slider to where it looks most readable. Save the images using File > Save for web and devices. Save in the gif format. You only need two colors, and you may safely crank up the lossy compression. Using this method you can compress six megapixel images down to under 200 kb, down from the roughly 2 mb original files.
5 # Create your pages. Now that you have created your action, open Photoshop and select file > automate > batch. Select the action you just made, as well as the original images you want to work on. Then select a destination and numbering scheme. Run the process and you should end up with a number of compressed GIFs. Review your images again. If any of your images were underexposed or out of focus, they will be illegible.

Someone may be able to recommend some easier to use software, but on machines where I do not have Photoshop I use http://gimp.org/downloads/

  • Labview in Batch mode

    Hello,
I would like to start a LabView-application in batch-mode, for example from a Python-script. How does this work?
    Thanks for your help.
    Kind regards,
    Gerald

If you just want to run LabVIEW and have it load a VI then you just need to issue a command line command like the following:
      C:\Program Files\National Instruments\LabVIEW 8.2\LabVIEW.exe pathtomyVI\myVI.vi
This will launch LabVIEW and automatically load "myVI.vi". It's the same as double-clicking the file in Explorer.
To create an executable of your VI you need the Application Builder. It is distributed with the "Professional" edition of LabVIEW. For other editions you need to buy it. The computer where you intend to run your built application will require the LabVIEW Run-Time Engine, but that's free. You can choose to bundle it when you build the application, or provide it as a separate install.
As for doing this from another application, well that all depends on the other application. As I said, for Python, you need to check the Python documentation on how to call an executable.

Can GATP work in batch mode i.e. all salesorders for a location/product has to go for availability check of stock in one batch.
For example, stock of  Product A @ Loc A is 90 EA. 10 customers have ordered the same product. In this case i want to run the availability check of all orders in one batch so that all customers will starved equally.
Please let me know if we can run GATP in batch mode for availability check.
    Thanks for help in advance.
    Regards,

You can schedule BOP in batch mode by tocde :
/SAPAPO/BOP - Backorder Processing in the Background
In this you can use filter to pull all the material/location as per your selection, can define filter in IMG or S_AP9_75000212 - Filter Type .
Also you can sort  orders as per customer by special sorting rule.
    S_AP9_75000183 - Special Sorting

  • Batch job for technically completing a production order

Is there a way I can run COHV in batch mode for TECO ing orders
    thanks a lot

    Hi
I assume you mean have a program run at pre-defined intervals to TECO your production orders.
Easiest is to use SM36 --> batch job creation wizard to setup your batch job.
The ABAP program you want to execute is PPIO_ENTRY (create a variant for the program first via SE38).

  • Photo order for slideshow

I have a directory of 300 photos, numbered 1-300, which are in the order I want them in...they are not in date order at all.   how can i preserve my order when pulling into the organizer in elements for slideshow creation?
a related topic...any batch renumbering utility in elements?

    Hi,
I'm not too clear on how you have numbered the photos. If you have just renamed each photo with the number then there could be a problem in ordering the photos in PSE. In PSE, the folder view displays the photos in alphabetic order not numeric order.
So, photos could appear in a different order:-
    Numeric order :   1, 2, 10, 20
    Alphabetic order : 1, 10, 2, 20
When renaming photos, to preserve the order for other viewers, it is best to use leading zeros to pad each number (e.g. 001, 020, 300).
To get them int PSE, just do Get Photos and Videos -> From Files and Folders and point to the folder containing the photos. Note that the getting of the photos does not take a copy of the photos, it just catalogs them.
Once they have been imported, switch to Folder Location in the Display options (top right) and select the folder where your photos are. If you have the naming right, the photos should appear in the correct order.
Now create an Album tag and apply it all the photos.
You can now switch to Thumbnail View in the Display options (my preferred view to work in) and if you select the album tag, the photos should be displayed in the correct order. In album view, you can drag the photos around into the order you want.
When you want to create you slideshow, just select all the photos in the album.
Personally, I don't bother renaming photos, I just import them into PSE and select the ones I want and allocate an album tag to them. In album view, I then move the photos around into the order I want and then create the slideshow.
For you last topic, why do you want to renumber the photos? There is the Export facility which enables you to copy the photos to an new folder and you can apply a sequence number.
Hope that the above was helpful

  • Looking for app to quickly with keyboard shortcut (i.e. Control   R) resize photos like I can do with Irfanview in Windows

    Hello,
I am trying to switch from Windows to OSX but must first find Mac equivalent solutions for daily tasks performed in Windows.
    1. I am looking for an app to quickly resize photos using keyboard shortcuts, i.e. Control + R, just like I can do with Irfanview in Windows.
    2. I am looking for an app which will quickly resize multiple photos like I can do with Irfanview.
    3. I am looking for another (or the same) light weight app to quickly convert and combine one or more jpgs to PDF. The windows app I am currently using is called JPEGtoPDF from www.compulsivecode.com.
Many thanks for helping me switch to OSX!

Photoshop Elements has the ability to sync and save photos in Adobe Revel with the use of mobile albums. Photoshop Elements is a consumer product that is not included in creative cloud. Photoshop is the professional photo editing app that is included in Creative Cloud.

  • Dynamic input fields for Doc Props in Batch Mode; Acrobat Pro 9

I'm using Acrobat Pro 9.  I'm looking for a way for Acrobat to automatically fill/replace the Title and Subject fields of the document properties with the file name of the PDF it is processing during batch mode.  Currently I have this step set to interactive and must type the name in for each file as it is processed.  Is there a script I can use? A macro? Heck! A Hack? It would literally take weeks off of my monotonous work load as the file names are long and there are thousnds of them to be processed.
    Thanks,
    Photonogon

If you want the file name with the path, you could add the following JavaScript:
    title = path;
    subject = path;
If you just want the file name:
    var filename = path.split("/").pop();
    title = filename;
    subject = filename;

  • How to resize photos for web pages

Can photos be resized within iPhoto to be used on a web site?  If not what is the best program to do this to keep good quality photos but have a fast reloading time.

I need to edit photos for print and then create a second version for the web.
You can resize photos as you export from iPhoto - use a custom size and set what you need and upload the exported photos
This is how you do that - you can not "resize" within iPhoto - you resize (and make another copy) when you export.
As to your saving photos form PS into the iPhoto library and wondering why it does not work - it is becaus you must NEVER make any changes of any sor tto the structure or content of the iPhoto library using any program other than iPhoto - saving a photo into the iPhoto libray is not supported and will not work - you set PS as the external editor and when you finish editing you save and iPhoto handles the new image

  • Resizing photos for a website?

I a building a website and when I resize -- even to make a photo or logo smaller -- everything gets wavy and low-quality.  Help!

I like to keep the footprint of my web images as small as possible.  Especially for mobile users who must pay for bandwidth.  Nothing chops a mobile data plan to hell faster than a web site that uses excessively large images.  I only use 100% quality for printed output.  On the web I compromise at 20-50% quality to keep the file size down & improve page load speed.
Go to File > Save for web.  Use the 4-up panel and compare image quality with file size.  See screenshot.
    For Photos, use JPEG.
For Gradients or graphics requiring alpha-transparency, use PNG-24.
    I rarely use GIFs anymore.
